I love their shawarma sauce. It is good and similar to Osmow's. Students of the University of Guelph also get good value deals at this food place. I didn't see the half fries and half rice chicken shawarma option available in their menu, but good thing the person serving our food was kind enough to accommodate that configuration. The place is small and there is not a lot seating available to dine in. We situated ourselves by the lone table with 2 seats near the door. My favourite for chicken shawarma fries or better known as chicken on sticks. Their garlic sauce is superb (and I've had chicken shawarma pretty much everywhere!) and they give a pretty great amount per serving (enough for leftovers). Quick, friendly service! Im always glad when I see a new vendor in Guelph with more ethnically diverse food. Every city should have a diverse set of food options. That is not to say that mediterranean/middle eastern cuisine is rare, but its nice to have the option to eat there. Manouche is a little take out joint at the moment but with expansion currently in progress. Once it is complete, perhaps there will be more space to sit down and eat if you wish. At the moment however, the cooking space is very well kept and clean. The food portions are very fair and definitely worth the price you pay. I had ordered the Kafta platter for myself. The piece of meat was very large; it was almost like 2 Kafta from pita land (you can check my picture from that review) mashed into one. This isn't a bad thing at all though because it still tasted good! It came with a good serving of rice, a quarter pita and a small salad in a separate container. One alteration I would make is the addition of the sauce onto the kafta. Customers should be asked whether they want it on the side or added in. If you like the sauce on the side, let the cook know before he adds it into the dish. I also tried the Kebbeh. This was my first time trying it so I can't comment on how good of a Kebbeh it was. What I can say is that I liked it a lot :) if you are familiar with italian food, it is similar in concept to Arancini. Garlic overdose.. tried this place for the first time and ordered a simple shawarma plate but I unfortunately found it nearly inedible, extremely overwhelming raw garlic taste to their sauce, and my food was absolutely drenched in it. Manouche is a reliable Mediterranean option for quick food on the go. It's still fairly new, but we've stopped in several times for takeout and it hasn't disappointed yet. The restaurant itself is a small space with a long service counter for to-go orders, so leave your friends at home unless you want to stand outside together and eat. They get an automatic gold star in my book because the menu is prepared in-house daily from locally grown ingredients (and it's also 100% halal). The price point is about average for the area (between $20-$30 for two). The chicken shawarma ($10.99 for the platter) and falafel sandwich ($4.49) are two of our favorite items on the menu -- but the lentil soup ($3.49 for a sizable bowl) is amazing. Trust me, if I could make lentil soup this good -- you'd never see me write another review for takeout again. The one issue that we've come across so far is that their stone oven hasn't been connected yet, so about a third of the menu is still unavailable. All of the items we've tried so far justify a 4-star rating, but I'd still love to check out their flatbreads since they seem to be the main focus of the menu. Also, a falafel platter option would be great (especially considering all the falafel-lovers in Guelph), but it's easy enough to make your own by ordering sides. We'll definitely be back, so I'll let you know how our search for Manouche's mysterious flatbread turns out! read more

My daughter and her friends had a stressful day writing exams today. At the end of the day, they were starving and wanted some food. Well they decided to order from Manouche instead of cooking. But today's service and order DID NOT warrant any STARS!! The funny thing is, they ordered their food while I was cooking my meal at home. Just to give you an idea on the length of time these poor girls had to wait for their food ...When my daughter called me, she told me she had just put her order in at Manouche. Well by the time I cooked our family meal, ate it, cleared the dishes and watched half of movie, she HAD NOT received her order. This place took close to 2 1/2 hrs to cook and deliver their meal!!! Can you imagine waiting 2 1/2 hrs!!!! During that time they called her to tell her they could not find their home on Google maps or whatever app they use. Plus they called again advising them they had a problem understanding 3 orders of food. Only 3 orders!! So I then called the restaurant to complain how ridiculous it was that the order was still outstanding after 2hrs. The individual on the line tried to put the blame on the customers unclear order, short staff and weather. At first he didn't offer any apologies until I pointed out his unacceptable lack of empathy and customer service for a service that my daughter had already paid. Only then he was sorry yet didn't offer any sort of compensation for the horrible amount of wait time for take-out food! So, the girls finally did receive their order, which was COLD and missing baklava!! Incredible....totally unacceptable!! So apparently this place makes it a habit of forgetting baklava!! read more

UofG students; trust me it's worth the walk. The owner and employees are so nice and welcoming on top of the delicious (huge portions) food. I eat middle eastern food regularly, so I have a good idea of what's the norm. And they are definitely above it. I would have taken a picture...
