This place's Garlic sauce is literally crack. I lived down the street for 4 years and never got tired of it. Their service is capital G GARBAGE...but the food more then makes up for it. If you have never had a shawarma in your life, then mozy's is the best introduction to what a good shawarma is. The shawarma is very tasty, also good with fries at side. It's always a good dinner after late night study session. There's always a line up, but they are pretty efficient with the food processing. The only thing I'm a little grumpy about is the sanitation around there. That's the reason I never sit there and eat. Tabletops and floors are mostly greasy. I personally like to add some turnip and hot sauce to my shwarma. The plate gets a little greasy with the fries so I would go with the rice option. All in all a great place to eat for between $8 and $12. Awesome friendly staff. My buddy found this place after an evening of music and alcohol, and insisted this place had the best shawarmas. I actually created a Yelp account and added the business to confirm his discovery. A little bit of Google research has informed me that this is Mozarfar's (I'm guessing Mozy is a nickname) second restaurant. The other one is "Kishki Halal Shawarma". Any guess what they make there? You got it: Shawarmas. Go ahead, look up the reviews for Kishki, I'll wait. So, what's the menu like at Mozy's? Short. Chicken shawarma, felafel shawarma, and some sides (e.g. fries). Now, down to brass tax. I had the chicken shawarma with one line of hot sauce. You have the option of up to three lines, but I'm sure they'd do more if requested. By the way, they use the ever-so-delicious Huy Fong Foods Sriracha. Anyone who's had this hot sauce is hooked, but I urge you to reconsider in this special case. Why? The added heat is nice, but the flavour threatens to overpower the chicken. And believe me, you don't want to do this. At the time of writing, the shawarma had a cost $6.19; $6.99 after tax. This is for a 2 lbs shawarma. Not kidding, I checked. What contributed to the weight? Toppings? Nope. Chicken. It was absolutely piled on, and had perfect flavour and texture. All the toppings were fresh and in perfect balance. The yoghurt sauce beautiful. And as a finishing touch, it was lightly warmed/toasted. Best Shawarma in town? Yes. Best Shawarma ever? Used to be a really good place to grab a shwarma when the owner was around to oversee his business. Now its run by a bunch of young kids. They mess up the orders, are stingy with material, are rude, and very inefficient. Just the other day I waited 25 minutes to get my food. As a vegetarian, this place has some of the best falafel. I went with a couple of friends, and it was definitely worth the walk from campus. It's great for lunch, and isn't too expensive. I say this because I recently recommended this place to a friend of mine who is Lebanese and he thought it was terrible! From the window outside looking in, the roasted chicken on the spit looks amazing. Tastewise, it's not bad. There is an intense smoky flavour that I like. They wrapped my shawarma with fries, which was unusual to me. Usually I have shawarma with lettuce, tomato, chopped parsley, hummus and other condiments. The fries are a bit heavy as a counterpoint to the roasted meat. Next time, I'll definitely ask for no fries in my wrap. Is this a popular way to eat shawarma in Eastern Canada? Mozy's Shawarma is probably the best Shawarma joint in the KW Region. The place itself looks pretty rustic, but the food they offer is fantastic. The best part about it is that you get to watch the chefs make your food. They are very generous with the ingredients, and seeing them scoop a cup full of chicken onto your wrap or plate and laying their famous garlic sauce on top is just so satisfying. You could either order it to eat there, or to go. I would recommend anyone to get their Sharwarma plate or the Sharwarma wrap. I stumbled upon this place while driving home a few weeks ago and decided to take my wife for lunch. We had the shawarma plate for $7.99 (great value for fries, chicken, salad and pita bread) and it felt like a chorus of nubile angels dancing on my tongue. I've had shawarmas at other places but none compare to Mozy's. Went back a few days later and it was even better. I would highly recommend this place. Food is good, quality and quantity has gone down a little since I first came to Waterloo (2014) but the chicken is still good. It's usually really fast but it can get busy especially around lunch and dinner. Can't really make any comments on service since there isn't any table service but none of the staff are particularly friendly, they're just there to do their job so I have no complaints. The owner/manager is a little rude though, witnessed him yelling at an employee for not speaking loud enough.
