I got the Bun Bo Hue which at the time was a special item that isn't normally on their day to day menu. With that, the bun Bo hue wasn't the best but not the worse. I could taste the underlying good flavor of the broth, but overall it was very bland. I just wish they were more heavy handed with the flavoring. She prayed over every table in such a warm way. I probably would have rated this place a 2 star if it wasn't for her. I'll start with the pho since that's what we come for. We ordered the "N2" pho with eye of round steak and an "N4" pho with well done steak and eye of round steak. The broth lacked depth and was really one note. It got better with the additions of the side sauces and veggies but not by much. I took all the meat out of mine because it tasted a bit off, not terrible but not worth a stomach ache. The best part of the soup was that it came out the perfect temperature and left me feeling content. We also ordered the pot stickers and a side of shrimp spring rolls. The pot stickers were not folded well so the oil got into the filling. Left a strange flavor in my mouth. The spring rolls, well it was 1 spring roll cut in half, were basic. I was looking for a good pho place near the airport and this place seemed to get good reviews so I thought I'd try it out. I was also intrigued because the place has a number of more traditional Vietnamese dishes as well. Unfortunately, this place was a little too uneven to make me want to come back again. The pho was fine but not great. The broth had a little too much anis for my taste. The meat was pretty good but an overwhelming amount of noodles to the point that they got over cooked towards the end of my meal. I also tried the Vietnamese omelet and also disappointed. Way too much filling and it ended up making the outside crispy part soggy. I did appreciate how nice the owner was and with the large portions, I can see why this place is popular. I saw this place had a lot of reviews, so my 8 year old and I checked it out on our layover after an international flight and the airline losing our luggage. We were greeted so warmly, the food came out quick and was delicious, we were checked on twice to make sure everything was okay. And before I ordered I asked how large the large was cause my son doesn't eat much and we were going to share a bowl. The waiter went to the back to grab me the different size bowls which was so generous of him! They brought us a separate bowl for my son without even asking, and ice cubes for the hot soup and scissors to cut the noodles forThey then dropped off a plate of oranges and grapefruit for my son, and before we left they gave us a bag of potatoes and oranges. After flying in from an international flight, having a bad hotel experience, sleeping in our dirty clothes and losing our luggage, this brought a smile to our faces. What a gem of a place. A friend and I were visiting seattle & chose pho as our last supper before we departed. To be safe (& not miss our flight) , we wanted to find a gem near the airport... which is usually not common. But boy did we find a gem of a place ! As soon as I stepped in the door, I felt so much warmth not from just the heater & the hot boiling pot of pho but just a warm presence in the shop. Not only was it the smell of delicious beef bone broth but the smile and greeting from the owner herself that made me feel at home. When ordering the owner thanked us for coming in during such a tough financial time & blessed us with a prayer from 6 feet away ( a social distanced blessing). Tried the shrimp rolls, general tsos and the combo noodle vermicelli bowl. I would skip on the shrimp rolls next time, although they were hot and crispy there are two other ingredients inside that I wasn't particularly fond of my guess on one would be taro, it had a soft starchy texture. They have a large menu full of photos which my husband seemed to appreciate. Combo noodles had a ton of ingredients, I could not tell them apart as I just kept shoveling the food in my face. Service: alright service, nothing out of the ordinary. Manager/owner was polite & welcoming. Food: apps were decent, main entrees not so much. Goi cuon Nem Nuong: possibly the best thing they had out of what I had there that day. The roll tasted quite fresh with the crisp lettuce. The crunch component needs work (the fried roll inside was too hard due to the it's density but was crunchy like it should be!) and definitely needed more meat to eat. Deep Fried Shrimp rolls: crunchy. Basically shrimps that are rolled in rice paper and fried. Decent but a bit on the oily side. Banh Xeo: 90% soggy. I cannot believe they even took it out and served it to us after we asked for extra crispy. The main body of the pancake was soft, mushy and batter under-cooked. When we pointed this out, the lady told us they have a lot of cooks in the kitchen. What does that mean? With a bit of hesitation, she took it back to the kitchen to redo. We decided not to eat that dish at all and go with something different. Bo Luc Lac: very little meat, very little seasoning and for $13.95, uninspiring and not like the true shaken beef I'd expect. The apps, service and clean factor keeps it hovering at a 2.5 star at best*. Wow I'm a fan. I'm staying at a airport hotel at SEA for 1 night and needed a hot dinner with vegetables after a few days hiking and eating a lot of meat which I love but I missed veggies. I ordered Bo Bia rolls, tom yum soup with shrimp, beef salad and Vietnamese pancake (Banh Xeo) - sadly they were out of the last item so I replaced it with an order of Bun Bo Hue Soup. Yes too much food for 2 people. Every dish was excellent, fresh, well prepared and seasoned, generous portions, overall just yummy. I confess we could only eat the rolls, salad and half of the tom yum and hit a wall. There is still enough food for another meal for 2. The staff were polite and kind.
