Great place to grab a glass of wine with friends for brunch or dinner. They have a huge wine selection and a few beers plus a full bar. But also a very unique and healthy menu with dishes like salmon steak and poke bowls and the beef tartare. The homemade pasta carbonara is fantastic too, but it's the light dishes poke that will have me coming back and making a detour when I might have been craving a less healthy burger or hotdog at the restaurant nextdoor. Btw they do have burgers at Rosé Gosé too!

There is a private parking lot and they take reservations. I went for brunch and had their eggs Benedict with salmon, which was decent, but not out of this world. To drink I had the raspberry raf coffee which I really liked. The raspberry really comes through as a flavor, so if you don't like sweeter tasting coffee don't get this, although it's not overly sweet.

Despite being short staffed they were very friendly and accommodating. Clean, open, airy atmosphere. Appreciated the non alcoholic drink options and lots of them! Nice presentation but some dishes were over salted with big chunks of maldon flakes, too overpowering for the delicate appetizer we ordered. Portions on the smaller side in comparison to similar restaurants in this tier. However definitely worth a try! We will be back to try other dishes.

This place is so lovely. I always have such a good experience when I come to this restaurant. The wait staff are so nice and the food is delicious. They have an outstanding cocktail menu with drinks that are both tasty and beautiful. My favorite dishes are The rice bowl with ribeye and shiitake and the mussels in cream sauce with french fries. Every cocktail I've had has been excellent and they're named after European cities.

Parking - private and plenty Food - prices about $18-$25 for food. I had the French plate and enjoyed it came with a croissant, avocado, truffle and mushroom butter, salmon, 2eggs any style, Brie, and salad. *fave alert* hubby LOVED the burger. If you love a juicy burger with french onion vibes you'll be pretty happy here. Some sweet notes as onions are well caramelized. He will be back for it. Service - we had Andres with us and he was so fantastic! Attentive, professional yet sweet, and always around if we needed anything. I wish we always had an Andres wherever we went! It's great to feel like you can enjoy your experience and not wait to order this or that. Vibes - cute decor and fun music. I have seen some live music before here (piano) and would love to see more of that. Authentic, unique, good date brunch spot too :)

Roasted Peppers with Stracciatella cheese and Prosciutto

I've had been wanting to visit Rose Gose for quiet some time now and so glad I finally made it! I absolutely love the decor. Artistic vibe yet homey at the same time. I made a reservation on Open Table for a little birthday HH. It was a Tuesday around 4:30 pm and dead when I arrived, so probably would have been ok without a reservation lol but it filled up as the evening went on. They have HH Monday - Friday from 3 PM to 5:30 PM. 50% off cocktails and 25% off menu items. We started with some cocktails. An Espresso Martini(No.8) and Limoncello, Strawberries, Lemon Juice & Prosecco(No.12). Both were so elegantly presented. For food we shared the Truffle Pepperoni Pizza, Roasted Peppers with Stracciatella Cheese and Prosciutto, & the Rice Croquettes with Salmon and Wasabi Sauce. Everything was absolutely delicious. You can taste it's made with all fresh ingredients. I really love truffle and the taste of truffle was on the lighter side. I could have taken a bit more truffle flavor. I would definitely order everything again and maybe try a different pizza next time. We could only finish the roasted peppers dish and had leftovers of the other items. One perk of booking with Open Table is I selected we were celebrating a birthday. The waiter was so sweet and made note of this detail. As we were finishing our meal and asked for the tab he said wait I have a little surprise for you all. He brought out a complimentary Pavlova with Sorbet dessert with a candle on top. Absolutely the sweetest gesture! The dessert was light and airy with the right amount of sweetness. Really closed out our experience nicely. I can't wait to come back and try more menu items!

Hummus with Pickled Vegetables

The rice was quite cold, and the portion small. The croquettes were perfect. The hummus was also small and didn't taste very good. The service was okay; they didn't check on me much. The atmosphere was calm, with a beachy vibe. I would not come back. It's not worth.

Amalfi (left) and Lisbon (right)

Only came in for drinks on this easy late Sunday afternoon; the Amalfi and Lisbon cocktails were delicious! I'm not a fan of gin but I didn't even know it was there when I tried a sip of my husband's drink. The Christmas decor was still up so it was really cute and dainty! Hope to come back and try the food next time :)

Came for happy hour drinks to celebrate my birthday! They have 50% off all bar items for happy hour on weekdays! Cocktails are originally $15 each making them only $7.50! We ordered a Canary Island and a Minsk!

This place is so chic and aesthetically pleasing! We had the best time at brunch, what with the variety of food on the menu, great selection of coffee and drinks and the best servers. They were extremely accommodating to the needs of a fairly large group of ladies, taking orders as and when people arrived (at different times during the hour), bringing food with a smile and then allowing us to split the tab between 15 of us. They didn't even charge a mandatory service fee for large groups that's usually a standard for most restaurants nowadays. I would have gladly paid it, but tipped them well regardless.

Non alcoholic cocktail 1 and Amalfi cocktail
Katelyn D.

Everything we ordered was delicious! It was all fresh, arrived quickly, and was light and flavorful. We left feeling full but not heavy which is always a win. I really enjoyed the non alcoholic cocktail. Sometimes it just tastes like you are drinking an overpriced juice but that's not the case with this cocktail! The flavors were refreshing and blended really well and tasted like an actual cocktail with their nonalcoholic sparkling wine that was added with orange, vanilla and passion fruit. There are a lot of raw options that I wasn't able to try because I'm pregnant but they looked delicious and I'll have to go back and try them at a different time. It was reasonably priced and the service was fast and attentive. The restaurant itself was adorable. I loved the vibe and the decor. There was seating available indoors and outdoors but we selected inside due to the heat. There's a small parking lot which is always a bonus in Austin. :) It's a place that you can go to casually or dress up and make it a little more fancy and both work. Overall, I highly recommend and would definitely go again!

Amalfi cocktail

After being told there was a 1.5 hour wait at a different restaurant early on a Friday night I was scrambling for another place to have dinner. I'd heard of this restaurant a couple of times recently and found that they had reservations available about 15 minutes after I was looking so I decided to give them a try. We arrived ahead of the reservation time and we asked if we wanted to eat on their patio or inside. Given that it was a nice evening we took a two top table outside the patio. The relatively small was sheltered from the traffic and not too loud, we were brought dinner, wine, and cocktail menus shortly after we were seated along with water My companion wanted to try some red wine, but not knowing what she would like. She got to taste two different Cabernet Sauvignon before picking which one she wanted. I looked through their large and brightly, colorful house cocktail menu book which had several appealing options I went with the Amalfi, which sounded like a light sweet drink for the somewhat warm Friday night. Although several of the appetizers looked appealing, especially the burrata, neither of us thought we were hungry enough for both. So my companion ordered the salmon bowl and I ordered the pasta carbonara. We didn't have to wait too long for our food to come out and it was served warm. Both of us were very pleased with our dishes. My companion who spent some time in Italy was very impressed with the pasta carbonara as well as her own dish. I think this is a cute little restaurant that's good for a gathering of a group of friends or a date night. I look forward to returning and exploring more of the menu.

Cocktail menu! 1/2 during happy hour

I genuinely never have a bad experience at rose gose. I brought a friend who had just moved back to Austin and never been, and we found they had upgraded their cocktail menu (same drinks, cuter names/look). I got the "Rome" cocktail (an aperol spritz with rosemary undertones), and my friend got the Vienna (a tangier drink, stronger alcohol flavor than mine, and also with rosemary undertones). She also ordered the bruschetta and red pepper appetizer which I sampled, and that was quite fun (and gluten free, as she has an allergy - they have lots of gluten free options). The staff were friendly and helpful as always, and the interior is still adorable, also with a little Christmas tree/holiday flare now. Rose gose remains one of my favorite cocktails bars/happy hour spots in Austin!

BUY IN STORE -- Not online…read more I truly hate writing this review because Rebel Cheese's products are excellent but the fulfillment and customer experience were a mess from start to finish. I ordered a holiday cheese box on December 3 as a Christmas gift. My card was charged immediately. The order never shipped, and I received no communication until I followed up myself, multiple times. After the holidays, I learned (only because I kept pushing) that my order had been internally canceled due to a system glitch, with no email, no refund, and no outreach. I was repeatedly told it would ship on specific dates that came and went. A replacement order was finally sent in January. It arrived late, wet, with melted and ruptured ice packs, and the cheese was very soft to the point my friends weren't sure it was safe to eat. The box also lacked the gift note that was supposed to be included. What bothers me most is that my card would have stayed charged indefinitely if I hadn't chased this down myself. That's not okay especially for perishable food. It's a real shame, because the product itself is great. But based on this experience, I can't recommend ordering gifts or anything time-sensitive unless the fulfillment and communication processes dramatically improve.

I was hosting several vegan family and friends for Thanksgiving, and planned to serve their cheeses as an appetizer for all 15 guests. I followed their shipping date cut off and ordered well before the cut off. I ordered 11 days before Thanksgiving. On the Monday before I still had not received any communication about my order and their website said it was being processed. I tried to call and got a message that they were too busy to answer the phone and to send an email instead. I sent the email and the reply was We are very busy but doing everything we can to fulfill orders. They promised to overnight any orders not shipped on Monday. On the day before Thanksgiving I found out they did not ship my order and essentially asked that I understand because they are so busy. They offered to ship my order later and they would throw something in for free for my inconvenience. This was a standard poorly written customer communication. I replied and explained how after their reassurances they had left me without my order or sufficient time to find a suitable replacement. This time a got a genuine reply from Luis, but same offer full refund, or some free item. It nice for them that they are so busy that they can't fulfill customer orders on time. My experience was being left holding the bag last minute and not much in the way of an apology.

They do provide menu pricing, but you're given a sheet to fill out what you want to pay, and I wasn't totally sure what was expected. It made the overall value feel unclear--and that's even considering I paid quite a bit less than what the meal would normally cost. That said, the atmosphere and the people were enjoyable, and I do like the idea behind offering this kind of night. It just didn't fully come together for me from a food and value standpoint.

With this place coming up on almost 500 Yelp reviews and sitting at four+ stars, that says something. It's located at a convenient location on 51st just a few blocks from I 35 and sits at the corner of Lancaster beneath three stories of apartments. There's only about six parking spaces available in front of the restaurant, otherwise you'll have to park in some other retail spaces further away. Inside it's quite small and intimate with about a dozen tables on the floor and 8 chairs at the bar. They do post some daily specials on the board when you walk in or you can stick to the menu. They do have a wine menu, but it's only limited to 22 choices at 2-3 times retail. We started off with some fried cheese ravioli and calamari. I loved the light breading on the calamari rings and no tentacles were included. My main course of chicken Parmesan was some of the best I've ever had. My guest enjoyed his entrée of shrimp and muscles. We washed it all down with a glass of their organic primativo. We then finished it all off with a dense chocolate fudge cake. You can easily spend $200 a couple for apps, entrées, wine, dessert, and tip. We showed up on a Friday evening without a reservation and there was just a few people in the restaurant, but it's best to make reservations for Valentines. If you're looking for pizza, you won't find it on the menu here. It's a place I'd come back to. Check out the informative photos.

I was less enthusiastic about this establishment than was my dining partner, Steve W…read more On a Friday night, Gino's was less than 1/5 full ... So other people might share my point of view. However, there was really only one objective thing wrong with Gino's on 51st street. Everything else was a matter of personal taste. Personal tastes can vary in what one wants to see in an American Italian restaurant. * * * The only objective fail was a fried calamari appetizer. The fry job was not good and the calamari were tough and not too tasty. People don't go to Italian restaurants just to get fried calamari, even though it is a common enough appetizer. * * * The one objective WOW WOW WOW was their chocolate cake. Steve W and I split one of these babies. It is kept in the refrigerator and served ice cold. The stuff is totally addictive. No matter how the rest of your meal goes, The chocolate cake will atone for all sins. * * * Now for the matters in dispute. The big question is do you like your American Italian tomato forward or tomato restrained? I grew up in Boston in the 1950s and 1960s where all the Italian food was tomato restrained. This included the famous Italian houses in the North End and our family's favorite, Simeone's in Cambridge. The recipes at Gino's could have come out of any those establishments. This explains Steve W's vigorous thumbs up. * * * American Italian in Philadelphia is tomato forward. Boston has evolved into a tomato forward town although exceptions do exist in particular houses. After I graduated high school and went out in the world, I discovered tomato forward. (Including, in Manhattan, a Legendary Spaghetti Caruso which was tomato forward with chicken livers. Sarah Vaughan was singing gospel to the diners. Now THAT was one meal I will never forget!) Once I discovered tomato forward, there was no going back. Whenever I cook Italian, I cook tomato forward. Whenever I encounter tomato restrained, I go "That's Nice, Dear." * * * Steve W.'s chicken parmigiana and my cioppino were both tomato restrained. I make a killer cioppino myself (although I have been bested by more than one West Coast seafood establishment.) Cioppino needs to be tomato forward all the way - and when you get down right to it, totally heavy-handed with the tomato. Needing tomato was especially important at Gino's where the seafood was on again off again. (Scallops and clams were legitimately superb. The shrimp like the calamari, not so much.) So I enjoyed part of my meal. * * * Fortunately, Steve W. is a dazzling conversationalist with a wealth of knowledge about a wide range of topics. So the dinner was marvelous, when I thought less about my food and more about the ideas he was putting forward. And there was that cake. So as a total experience, the night was five stars. * * * However, if you are going without Steve W., Then watch yourself on the menu. Something like an Alfredo or a Piccata might be a better main dish call. That - and be sure to order dessert. (Heh heh)
