Food was good, but service was terrible. Went on a week day and there were 5-6 people at bar, but only 2 other tables(each only a party of 2)with customers. We waited 10-15 minutes after being seated for waitress to come. Then when food came we were given 1 napkin & a set of silverware. Waitress said she was going to get napkins, after several minutes napkins were delivered, but no other set of silverware. Finished our lunch to wait again for lengthy amount of time. When waitress passed by, we asked for 2 boxes and our bill. She came back and proceeded to box up both of our lunches, touching the food with her bare hands!! After she touched all our food, these went to the trash. She then took our plates and didn't come back with bill, so had to wait again. It's always a great time and meal here. I'm in love with The Cheef, however their pizza by the slice is delish too. I rarely get pizza any place we go because my husband and I like different toppings and I can't eat a whole pizza by myself, so being able to purchase by the slice is a definite plus. Finally tried Rosati's, which is close to our home and recommended by friends. We ordered the thin crust monster pizza. Huge amount of toppings, all fresh and pizza was deemed old style delicious, crust got a little soggy with all the toppings but did not detract from the overall taste. Now salad is another story, we ordered their chop salad, we got a huge container of lettuce, huge pieces of lettuce, two small tomatoes and basically nothing else. We had deep dish pizza, spaghetti and the antipasto salad. The place was clean, prices were fair, the food was great and the service was friendly. My problem is that the tables are very small and not easy for 5 people. That said, when you want a great deep dish pizza, this is the place to go! My wife and I recently went to Rosati's and were very disappointed. I ordered a sausage sandwich with peppers and onions. I should have realized not to order it when they menu said it came with Ajus or marinara sauce. The peppers were raw and cold and came on the side, the onions were grilled slightly and a side dish also along with the marinara. My wife ordered chicken parmigiana sandwich which was OK but nothing special. The waitress tried really hard pushing drinks on us but as we don't drink, we just had water. They also had no Coke a Cola products, just Pepsi as an option. It took about 35 minutes for the two sandwiches to be served, portions were small and way overpriced. Atmosphere was not so good as it was very loud and overindulged bar patrons were using vulgar language which seemed to be the norm. I have gone to this location since it has opened. I am from the Chicagoland area so i was very happy to see one here in town. we would go to Rosati's all the time when i lived back there. for years i have gone to this location with my grandparents, parents, and we order it when family comes into town. i even chose to go here for when my boyfriend met my parents for the first time. i have always loved this place until i went there again last night. i placed an online order for the penne bake, a chicago style pizza, and boneless wings. it said it would take 25 min, so we got there at about the time it would be ready. the lady who was at the front handling the to go orders was on some sort of substance. it was very very obvious. she was very out of it and didn't seem to know what was going on. she couldn't find my name for a while, but then she did and went to the warmer to look for the order. she looked at each box or bag about 10 times and took out what looked to be our food and put it back. she also kept calling the penne a panini and said the wrong pizza. we waited for about 15 minutes as other customers who came in later got their food. we go back up, and she proceeds to take out the same bags that she did originally with the help of what seemed to be a manager. they then tried to charge us again even though i paid online. i checked the food in the car, and the ranch was in the bag in the warmer so it was very warm and inflated. they also forgot our extra ranch that we paid for. i had to go back in to replace the warm ranch and get another one. when we got home and ate the food, it was subpar, which is a kind way of putting it. my 10 inch deep dish was cut into fourths and the penne bake was lacking cheese and overcooked. the wings had a weird texture and tasted old. usually i love the pizza and have to stop myself but i could barely eat one of the 1/4 slices. the sauce was very watery and there was barely any cheese. i am very disappointed for a multitude of reasons. this has been one of my favorite restaurants for years and i always recommend it to people looking for a good pizza. but i will not be anymore. i really don't want to go back here which makes me sad, as i said this was my favorite pizza in town. i dont know if its under new management, but its disappointing that the food was so subpar as well as the service. it was almost $55 for my order, so i am kinda annoyed that i wasted so much money on food we ended up throwing away because it just was not good at all - and i do not waste leftovers. read more

Placed a food order online, paid in advance. The confirmation read that it would be ready in 25 minutes. We arrived a few minutes later then recommended and told that the order had not been started. Things happen, but there was no effort to apologize or attempt to try to make the situation better...you know...something to Keep your customer coming back. We came in for the first time and there's immediately in front of you a desk with cash registers and menus. We were greeted with "Do you know what you want?" Yikes! We quickly scanned the menu and selected a pizza and appetizer. When I asked for two waters they seemed confused. Apparently I was ordering take-out. When I asked if we could sit anywhere they said we could. However, when we went to pick a table, the waitress in that area seemed upset that I was picking a table so we decided to just wait by the door to take our food to go. Fortunately it was a fairly short wait because the staff was alternating glaring and laughing at us while we waited. The pizza was pretty good but soggy for thin crust. The cheesy bread sticks were basic. 2 stars for the cooks getting us out of there in ten minutes flat. We will not darken the doors of this place again. read more

We arrived early to take advantage of happy hour. We normally ask for a table so they seated us at a table next to the window in the bar area. Right away we were bomb-barded by the flys!! Ugh. We went there to relax and enjoy a drink and food. We put up with the flies while we sipped our drinks. But as soon as the food came, we could not enjoy one bite. So we moved further into the room. The waitress was nice enough and said "oh it's because it's summer". Umm, no that is not why all the flies are here. We moved to the next set of tables and still had to deal with those pesky flies!! Ugh. We had to cover our dough nuggets and our food because they were everywhere!! We finally gave up and took our food to go. The food and prices were great but wish they would deal with those flies!! Did not have a relaxing evening experience. They didn't try to give discounts or anything. I ordered a pizza last year from Rosati's on Ina and it was fair. I had one earlier in the year from Rosati's in Rochester MN and it was the bomb, so I was excited to try one on Ina here in Tucson. With that, I just hadn't been back there BUT I decided to give it another try this week and order what I ordered before. A Chicago style deep dish with sausage, mushrooms, pepperoni and lots of cheese. I have to say it was absolutely delish and the young man that made the pizza for me was fantastic! Deep dish pizza was just plain awful. The crust is basically just bread with a bland cardboard taste. Part of the whole thing with deep dish is the crust, it should be buttery and have a taste of it's own. The cheese was bland too, tasted like rubber. The only good thing was the tomatoes. I think Rosati's should just stick to their other pizzas, this is not Chicago pizza, it's just bread that takes the external appearance of a deep dish, but once you bite in, it's severely lacking in flavor and character. read more

And it looked promising since they've expanded and there are always people in the restaurant. However, I found the pizzas to be pricey for what they are. Additionally, though we ordered the Rosati's Monster (sausage, pepperoni, ground beef, bacon, mushroom, onion, green pepper, black & green olives), I found it to be the plainest tasting pizza since elementary school. Best pizza we have found in Tucson as of this date. We have spent most of our lives in and around New York City and Philadelphia, so we are used to the best thin-crust pizza in the U.S.! No one in Tucson matches their level (so far, anyway). But the thin crust, sauce and extra ingredients at Rosati's are very good. BUT - make sure to request that it be cut in the traditional wedge style. We didn't do that our first time, and got these little four-inch squares. Tried it for the first time since it's about a mile from my house and been looking for an alternative to Olive Garden for Italian food. I got the chicken Parmesan and was impressed! Spaghetti noodles were a perfect consistency. The chicken was perfectly grilled on the outside and juicy on inside. Ample amount of cheese. They even brought it right to my car and it was still piping hot, which was nice. All in all, loved the dish and will def come again to try something else. Service was awful, we had an incompetent server who seemed to be under some influence. She kept rolling her eyes and all over just not friendly. $45 for a pizza that was rung up wrong and all toppings slid off. The table itself was lacking napkins/roll ups and again service . The pasta had mostly sauce lacking pasta and that as well was mid. We were very very disappointed and left still hungry . I use to really LOVE this place. But over the last 3-6 months I've noticed changes. For example, their Calzones have gotten a LOT smaller, gone up in price and are becoming tasteless. I'm not sure what is happening or why they are choosing to do this. Over all I do like their food, but its not my "go to" place anymore. About 2 months ago I bought my barber and his coworkers a few pizzas. I talked to him later and he said next time to just go get Dominos ... they were NOT impressed. I really hope they take this to heart and bring the quality of their food back to where it use to be. I'm not being mean, just honest - the quality has gone down. Quite sad. read more

I've been looking for a good reasonably price pizza since moving to Tucson and so I thought I'd try it as it had quite a few stars. I took my order to go and they package the pizzas in a nice insulating box so by the time I got home my pizza was still hot. I had the vegetarian pizza the crust was thin and cooked just right the vegetables we're OK and the portion size was decent as well as the amount of cheese and tomato sauce. The restaurant looked very clean and kept tidy! it's a sports bar so one sections full of TVs and a bar, in the other section as you enter there are tables with only one television and you can also enjoy sitting outside on a nice day. I will go there again, I was pleased! however I just can't get over how much it cost to have a pizza nowadays... my pizza was over $20 by the time you pay the tax and tip. read more

We have been to to both locations. Great food, great atmosphere. This location was recently renovated so of course we had to check it out. What an amazing transformation is all I can say. Now on to the food. Ordered the mushrooms for an appetizer and they were cooked perfectly. Between the lasagna and the calzone, it hit the spot. Others in our party had the chopped salad and it was not undersized at all. Got the 5 wings and they were so good, we ordered another round to go home. Hats off Louis the server.
