This used to be a Boston's, and I had not yet tried this establishment until yesterday as recommended by a childhood friend whom I was meeting for lunch. Plenty of seating options via table or booth. I opted for a Slice, drink, and salad. The Slice was sausage, not greasy, large, and flavorful. The salad was large, crisp and fresh. The drink was self-serve. The options for lunch specials were a great deal for people on the go, as you got your food when you ordered. The best part was the value. At under $8, this was a major bargain in today's economy. Cheap lunch. $10ish bucks (before gratuity) for 2 people! This solid, Arizona grown pizza joint is consistent, clean, fast & accurate and recently in a nice new location. They're still in Arizona Pavillions but now on the same side as Harkins Theaters, facing Spice Garden. Of note, my side salad was NOT bagged which I totally appreciated. Garden salad of freshly washed greens tastes way better. Also, big enough for 2 with a slice for each of us. The lunch pizza slices were good, one Hawaiian style, 1 daily special - buffalo chicken wing - yum! As always, their to order pizzas are consistently good as they make their own zesty red sauce & use the proper amount of toppings & stretchy cheese - all for a better price than most national chains. Needed lunch for the family so I decided to pick up a pizza and wings. They always pair nicely and feed the crew. Ordered the meat pizza sweet chili wings and spicy BBQ wings. Easy to order online,quick hot assembly and deliciously prepared I ordered everything well done by suggestion of my family who've been here before. I love a good sauced and spicy wing. My son and I agreed to meet here for Christmas Eve. I left from Sierra Vista and he from Tempe. It was a 1:40 hour drive for both of us. The place was open until 6pm and we got there at 2pm. The place was not too busy as we walked in. We ordered a large Barro's Special pizza with both ham and pepperoni. We both had a pint of Angelo's Ale (brewed by Four Peaks out of Tempe, a mellow ale) and my DIL had a Diet Coke. The bill came to $37 which wasn't too bad. Our server was fast and friendly. The large was just the perfect size for three adults. We were all hungry and left with no leftovers. The sauce was spicy-tangy. The crust was thick but not what I would call "Chicago style." The dark wood interior reminded me of another Chicago area pizza company. Chicago landmark photos adorned the walls and there were TVs on all the walls. read more

I gave Barro's Marana five stars because i have never had such GOOD pizza, and the staff is both friendly and efficient. But the bathroom cleaning is atrocious! There is grime in all the corners and grime around the sink faucet and the stench has overwhelmed whatever weak ventilation system is in play. I almost lost my appetite. Like I said the Pizza is wonderful. I feel sorry for people who get their pizza anywhere else, but make other arrangements to wash your hands before eating. read more

My absolute favorite pizza joint in Tucson! Their customer service is incredible! I have ordered large catering orders for groups of over 100 people multiple times and the pizzas are always hot, fresh and delivered on time. Tyler, one of the Managers, is outstanding in person, over the phone and leads a team that aims to please. This is probably the worst pizza I've ever had. If you like dough with sauce maybe you can eat here. They shred the meatballs and it might equal 1/2 a meatball on a large pizza. Venue is a bit large but at times the line to get in is around the building, so this establishment needs space. Food is very good. Fresh, quality ingredients and rich flavors. My husband and I do not live here but travel thru several times a year. We either stop here or Roccos which is in town near the university. We find the walk up style service here very helpful and pleasant. Cleanliness we rate as an A. Walking distance e to movie theater and lots of shopping. Good quality local place. read more

We had terrific chicken wings. We went with original medium style. We ordered the thin crust mega meat pizza and added green olives.,it was super flavorful and plenty of puzza fir two hungry people. Their thin crust pizza is the thickness of a regular pizza at other pizza places. We ordered two pints of Blue moon pale white Belgian beer. What a great place! Have gotten take out and have dined in here. Both experiences were excellent. To start, the food: soooooo good. I've had the cheese ravioli both times and added meatballs. Just perfect for what I was craving. The pizza looks so good too. They also have sandwiches, salads, and wings. Something for everyone. Can't wait to try more of their items! They also serve alcohol! The service: super helpful, friendly, and thoughtful. You order at the counter and they either give the pizza to you directly or bring your food to your table when it's ready. My mom and I shared an order of cheese ravioli and they automatically brought out two plates for us, without us even having to ask. The ambiance: the Chicago theme is great! I can definitely see this being a great spot come football season, especially if you're a Bears fan. Pizza chain restaurant that is top heavy throughout Arizona, yet has good pizza and exceptional customer service. I experienced Barro's for the first time in Buckeye (just outside of Goodyear), and loved it. The basic medium pizza has 8 slices that are fairly thick, yet not Chicago-style thick. It was enough for me not even to finish 3 of the slices. Luckily, a passing employee allowed for me to obtain a box so that I could take it back to the hotel for later consumption. There isn't table service here- you have to order your entree first. With a bottled beer, I believe that my total came to $18. Not a bad lunch/dinner option! read more

The best affordable pizza in the Marana area. Pick up or dine in is the way to go, and it's easy to order online. I prefer the thin crust over the regular crust. Food is generally good and consistent. I've tried multiple locations, both in tucson, casa grande and Gilbert. I like the kids area. This score reflects my last visit and the service I received. I called at 4pm for an antipasti salad to go. Olives and ranch on the side. They told me 15 min, I let them know I'll be there in 30. I don't personally like to rush people and a big believer on giving people time and calling ahead. When I get there, there was only 1 person ahead of me. When I get to the counter, I paid and noticed they charged me for extra olives. When I brought it to the attention to the woman assisting, she said she had to check in the back and talk to the manager. I wasn't sure what she had to check with, either they put extra olives in the salad and not on the side like requested but said it would be another 5 min. So that would make sense for the extra charge, I told them it's fine because I really had to go. I sit at the benches in front and wait. 15 min go by and it is getting busier, I finally have to go up because now I am 10 min late, I ask for a refund. No one has let me know the delay or check in with my order. So the girl goes back and brings my order, not sure how long it was sitting there. All she asks if I I still want my refund, it was a really frustration interaction. Mistakes happen, I get that. That's why I waited. But after they let me sit there after their additional promise time with no follow up. I really felt that they just forgot about me, they already over charged me and then is how I'm treated. Nothing wrong with the food, I would recommend just paying attention to it because I'm not sure if they will. I've been here twice since the new location, first time, their ice was out. Very bad service - we order delivery all the time from Barro's. Tonight we decided to go inside- well I'm not sure they understand how to treat people of different races. the blonde young lady who tried to take our order made many assumptions . My family was turned down because were an interracial family. My sister and I were to be served but when my black husband appeared our server got the manager to turn us away. There were many police officers in the restaurant so not sure if they were afraid of some sort of issue. our family was there to join us for pizza but instead we were turned away . I just witnessed the most racist thing I've ever seen. A woman of color and two small children were treated like they were from another planet. The manager completely lied to her face stating they didn't have clean plates for them and they had to use paper plates. Everybody else had real silverware and glasses, and these folks were given plastic forks and paper cups. It was 3 o'clock in the afternoon and there were only two other families in the whole place. Besides the fact they have the most crappy pizza ever. I will never step foot in that place again. read more
