Been in twice; once for lunch and once for dinner. Lunch was good. Shared a salad and panini. Their iced tea is flavorful. Service was friendly and attentive. Restaurant has seating inside and out. Portions of the inside could use a good cleaning/dusting. After a couple of days from visiting for lunch, I noticed my credit card was mischarged. They quickly found their mistake and invited me for dinner and a free entree. I came in for dinner and we opted for the Indian menu, as we are great fans of Indian cuisine. We started with samosas. They were a little dry but tasty. Our entrees were chicken tikka masala, butter chicken, and saag paneer. The saag paneer had to be remade as it was watery and tasteless. The second try was less watery but still lacking flavor and depth. Something was definitely missing. Their butter chicken was made with dark meat, instead of the normal white meat. Overall, I think an Italian restaurant trying to also have authentic Indian dishes is a stretch and things are getting missed. I'll definitely return but will try some of their Italian dishes instead and see how those are. read more

We couldn't get any drink refills and our server saw us once to take our order, once to deliver food, and once for the check. The service wasn't good. it has been a while since we've been here so we decided to try it again. The food took about 40 minutes to arrive. not a busy night at all. Tonight the girl asked me twice if I wanted chicken in my fettuccine and I told her no. When it arrived, it was full of chicken so my husband had to start eating while I waited another 10 minutes. what is so frustrating is that she asked twice about the chicken and yet it came full of chicken. Said that the girl grabbed the wrong plate but I could see the counter and there was only two plates up there so I know that it wasn't the wrong plate. Not a great excuse for the mistake. Called in a Checca pizza, well done, (I like some charring) to go order at 2pm on a Wednesday. Was told 20 minutes order would be ready. Walked in 17 minutes later to an empty restaurant. Server greeted me quickly & payment was made, pizza was served & off I went to my home nearby. Upon 1st appearance, the $16 Margherita pizza was undersized & underwhelming in appearance. 1st bite was delicious & I was amazed at the flavor from such a minimalist pizza. I wasn't impressed with the size or amount of ingredients but rather, the amount of flavor from the garlic oil & cheese on this simplistic Italian classic that is often underrated. Went for dinner. Called ahead and was able to reserve a table on our way in, which was very helpful! The restaurant got very busy shortly after we got there. Barely missed happy hour, but their discounts aren't that different from the main menu so we didn't miss much. The entrees are pricey and the food is OKAY. Ordered the eggplant parm which was pretty good! Also ordered a pizza that we didn't love, not as flavorful as we were hoping. Service was pretty quick. Love this place! Food and service are always great and we send our kids out to the playground outside if they (or we) need a break.

This was my 1st time at this location but have always enjoyed the menu at the swan location. The dining room seemed a little crammed as the chairs from the table behind us kept bumping into ours. This is my first time here on a Saturday evening. I've eaten many times at Vero Amore on Swan thinking it would be similar. The place is empty on an early Saturday . I ordered a beer and it was not cold! I didn't say anything I just added ice. My beautiful pizza came out warm to the touch and sent it back to be heated. I like my pizza hot! The place was clean but the help is marginal. I will not be returning. How can you get beer and pizza wrong?! Management needs to step in. read more

There was nothing to love here. We've eaten at our share of Italian restaurants and this is by far the worst experience we can remember. The wait staff were kind, but we did wait a while for our waiter to get our drink order. The dining room was small and crammed. But, these are things that I could get over if the food is delicious. When we ordered our food we decided to order our favorites that we always order at other Italian restaurants. We ordered Calamari for an appetizer, and for our main course we had lasagna and cioppino. The Calamari looked nice. It tasted good and tender. However, it was a bit stringy. Half would go down my throat while the another connected piece was still being chewed. So strange! I've never experienced that with Calamari before. We noticed the marinara sauce served with it was SUPER bland. Canned Ragú tastes 1000 times better than this sauce, and that's so sad. The cioppino... was not good. I've never had a cioppino that I was disappointed in until this one. Again, the tomato base was SUPER bland. There was no depth to it. It was like eating canned soup. I loaded it with salt and pepper (something that I never do) and had one of the waiters bring me grated Parmesan to assist this situation. That helped, but I would still never order again. The shrimp was the best part of that dish. The lasagna... we took a few of bites. My fiancé took 3 bites and then asked me to try it because he wasn't sure of what he was tasting. He said it had a metallic taste to it, for him. I took one bite and OH NO-it was BAD!!! That SUPER bland marinara was the first problem. Then, a flavor of old, bad, expired noodles came in. There was no way to eat that. Our waiter was SUPER helpful and took the dish away. He let my fiancé order a different menu item. My fiancé chose the pizza. The pizza was miles ahead in flavor and saved our dinner experience for the moment. The food there is just not what we prefer to treat ourselves with. We are so sorry that we used our dinner time and money on that food. I've had better fast food Italian food at Fizoli's (if anyone remembers that place. It was in Missouri). I also would have preferred to eat at the Olive Garden. This place doesn't hold a match to Oregano's. read more

Service and ambiance: fine. The Salsiccia pizza was embarrassingly skimpy. I understand it is Neapolitan style, but the "sausage" pizza had no more than two paper-thin nickel to quarter size pieces of sausage per slice. It wasn't even a full shave of a sausage- more like the knife slipped and only cut half of the sausage. It was so thin and scant that we couldn't taste the sausage at all. There was no more than a half inch of sliced sausage on the entire pie. There was a very light sprinkle of cheese - a few pinches here and there. The only topping we could taste was bell pepper. I would have been mortified to serve this to a customer or a guest in my home. $16 for this sad and ridiculous pizza. It was so over the top meager toppings that I wondered if we were on Candid Camera. They didn't even try to put out a decent pizza. Look at the photo. It's nothing like the other pizza photos posted from previous customers who had sausage crumbles and visible cheese. Will be surprised if this place is around much longer. read more

I lived in India for two+ years and was married to an Indian man and prepared chicken tikka masala regularly. So I know exactly how it should look and what should be in it! I have never been so disappointed in a meal in my life. Apart from the Caesar salad being brown on the edges of the lettuce, there was not one piece of chicken in the chicken tikka masala! It was just a bowl of sauce and a plate of rice! I would never order that meal ever again at this restaurant. The service was good but the food was unacceptable! Not one single piece of chicken in the entire bowl! Either they have no idea how to cook Indian food or they were ripping the customers off with what they provided! Disgusting! This is what chicken tikka masala should be: "Chicken tikka masala is a dish consisting of roasted marinated chicken pieces in a spiced sauce. The sauce is usually creamy and orange-colored." THIS IS NOT WHAT WAS SERVED! If they would like me to come in and teach them how to prepare Indian food I'd be happy to do so! Because obviously they have no clue what they're doing... My family originally is from a city with an area called "The Hill" with many excellent Italian restaurants, so we have high expectations for Italian food. My mom and I were in the area at lunch time one day and decided to give Vero Amore a try. We were greeted by a friendly server and decided to sit out in the shaded patio. The server brought ice water and menus right away. I appreciated that they offer a lunch menu with smaller portions and prices. My mom ordered a lunch Cobb with Caesar dressing, and I ordered the lunch-sized pasta Pomodoro. The food came out promptly and the size was exactly what we expected - small. Both dishes were fine - nothing special, but not bad. The server, who seemed to be the only one scheduled that day, checked on us several times and made sure we had a good experience...even if the food was just ok. It looks like pizza might be their specialty, and we might try it if we're in the area. read more

I don't know how they mixed it up or why an Italian restaurant would have soy sauce readily available? Pretty standard American Italian restaurant. It's got a lot of seating and service has been good. They also have a nice patio area to enjoy. Pizza dough is a little doughy for my tastes but the pastas have been pretty solid. Not many options up at Dove Mountain so it's nice to have a glass of wine and a bowl of pasta nearby. Would not recommend the paninis as some others have commented, it's very bready. read more

This was my first time here, and I went for lunch. Overall it was just average. I ordered the Chicken Caesar Panini. It was unlike any Panini I have seen before. It was basically a salad stuffed into a pita type bread. It was not pressed in a Panini Press at all. It was 90% lettuce and only 10% chicken. There was very little Caesar dressing on the "Panini". If you order this maybe ask for some dressing on the side and use to your liking. The air conditioning was broken when I was there so it was very warm inside. The Manager finally put up a sign on the door just as I was finished and leaving. Also, lots of flies. They must have propped a door open at some point and let them in. The atmosphere was decent and not busy at 1:30'ish for lunch. They do have a few good local craft beers on tap. I will give them another try in a few weeks hoping that the A/C issue is resolved by then, but will not be ordering the Chicken Caesar Panini again. Big disappointment. read more

Tonight we carried out from Vero Amore-Dove Mountain. We had a wide variety of appetizers and entries. The clams and mussels appetizers are great size for sharing or would easily make a meal for an individual. The bread boule and the cheesey bread are a must. They are delicious with the heavily herbed butter and even better dunked in the mussels and clam liquor. The Cioppino was loaded with clams, mussels and calamari. The red sauce was well seasoned and complemented the seafood. Our kids had various pizzas that were fresh and handmade. The prices were an excellent value for the amount and quality. $13 to $28 per entree. There was one small snafu with the online ordering, but the manager was on hand to iron it out. I highly reccomend this restaurant and will definitely be a regular customer. read more
