Loved it! We kept looking at the standards & our friend who took us there kept saying, "The Specials are on the Back". I picked their artichoke chicken. Amazing. Perfectly cooked, juicy chicken in a delicious sauce! read more

Blech! So disappointed in our meal last night. My husband and I visited Dove Mountain before and were excited to return to this restaurant as we had great experiences there in the past. Last night, however, was a complete letdown. First, my margarita pizza, which I remember in the last to have been cooked to perfection, was undercooked, undersauced, and basically a disc of white dough with a tablespoon of sauce and small smattering of cheese. My cannoli's - for $9 - were a complete joke. The dessert was 3 cannolis, each as small as my thumb. Each also completely under filled with the marscapone filling that didn't even touch the sides of the shell. The only reason I am giving this place two stars instead of one is that the actual ingredients were good - but the execution was horrible. Our dinner was an undercooked, sloppy mess with far too little ingredients. read more

Their menu shows a panini sandwich. I ordered it and it wasn't a true panini. It wasn't grilled flat . I was disappointed. I was told it was a panini when it was brought to my table but 'they use a different style of bread and they don't grill them flat' , uh? read more

Tasteless, pedestrian food. Ordered pasta marinara and pizza that was just awful. Has garlic bread that was sourdough bread from Fry's with just a sickening garlic spread. Vero was sold last year to new owners, and the quality has declined significantly. Last time getting food here. $55 wasted. read more

Disappointed with the menu and the meal was very bland, expected a better Italian meal experience.

12 years ago I posted a wonderful review for this place. The last 5 years have been a massive decline every time we order. The pizza use to be amazing in the past, now it's smaller the crust is different and sometimes burnt. The mozzarella is not fresh anymore. They use to give fresh Parmesan with your order, now it's the grated parm packets. The caprese salad no longer has beefsteak tomatoes or fresh mozzarella. This place use to say they were certified Napoleon food. I honestly don't think their certification is valid anymore. Don't get me wrong, it's still an average place food wise, but nothing like it was. I assume they got new owners or partners.... But something changed. We've been disappointed. Sad to see such a great place change. read more

We have been going here for several years. Service was good. Atmosphere is good. The flat bread is delicious. Must be under NEW ownership. The entrees have a bit to be desired for the price. The baked linguini is $22 and a side of meatballs is $6. It came out warm, not hot. We bought 2 entrees and 4 drinks (beer/Sangria) at happy hour price and ended up spending $90 plus tip. The value was not there. Better off with a box a pasta and Ragu for the quality and price. Regrettably read more

Very good spot in Marana. Service was excellent lots of servers, clean location clean bathroom. Excellent pizza. You have to try to oven bread (not complimentary). They don't take reservations ( wished they were in Opentable or Yelp), busy on Friday afternoon but not crazy. Good wine selection. Will definitely return! read more

We would like to share with you a warning on this restaurant. It's a ripoff. Our entire takeout order was wrong this evening. There was little Alfredo on the $16 dollar pasta the bruschetta was jarred pesto with some Parmesan flakes. No oil. No basil. No tomatoes. The chicken parmigiana also lacked marinara. It was just on wet spaghetti with maybe tomato paste. read more

Amore - I honestly have no idea. I'm assuming two day odd bread with some store bought pesto out of a glass jar and mozzarella. - Italian Near Me - Marana, Arizona

Decided to get a pizza to go from Vero Amore, Dove Mountain. The restaurant is located off of Dove Mountain and Tangerine Rd. There is inside and patio dining. The staff there is awesome! There are many different Italian dishes to choose from. I also noticed that Vero Amore had cold beer, wine, and a bar. As I was waiting, I spoke with Caleb, who was making my pizza. I guarantee, I was able to watch him from kneading the dough, to putting the fresh toppings on the pizza, and finally placing the pizza in the oven. The pizza tasted amazing and Caleb did a great job preparing and cooking the pizza. I will definitely have to try something else the next time. Thank you Vero Amore! Cheers!! read more

4 stars as the service was meh and they forgot my beer a couple times and it was the wrong one/type. Otherwise the lunch special is great! We got fettuccine Alfredo, Chicken Caesar panini which was quite large, and the prosciutto caprese salad (kinda small though). We visited the Swan location just for Tiramisu which was quite good. Love the inside too at Dove Mountain, very nice and clean. read more

We go there for take out pizza. Really tasty, interesting topping combinations make for a not-your-typical-pizzeria taste. So I'd give 5 stars for the pizza but only barely 3 for the take out service. Good thing their pizza's good, because we've never come away from there with an order done correctly. (Last time, they aborted us one of two pizzas saying, oh, we must have given it to another order (?!), and we had to wait for them to prepare the second pizza while the first was getting cold. Other times they've gotten which toppings we ordered wrong. Like I said though, when fresh and hot, it's darn good pizza. Try the Capricciosa style pizza. (When we've ventured to try their entrees, they are too basic and nothing special.) read more

A step above Olive Garden..this is not authentic Italian. Pre-cooked linguini with diced tomato thrown on top..called baked linguini. Chicken parm lacked sauce and the fettuccine Alfredo was drowned in pepper. Not even fettuccine pasta rather linguini. They must have gotten a special on linguini through Amazon. By far the worst "Italian" food I've had in years. Was nowhere worth the $20-26 a meal price tag. Don't call yourself a Italian restaurant..have some integrity read more

Ever had a meal that is so bad that it's funny? I think we received a prepackaged frozen pepperoni pizza heated in a wood fire grill. It was a cracker with toppings. The meatballs were reminiscent of stouffer's frozen meatballs. Disappointing! read more

Man what a little gem we found coming down to see my wife's family. The food was amazing! I got the Mediterranean pasta and I'd def get it again! The service was attentive enough without being too much. We sat outside to eat and we had the kids with us. The ambiance was perfect for this little adventure! We will definitely come here again and tell others about it for sure! read more

We came by last week by our recommendation of our hotel which we enjoyed our dinner. Very low key and local place but thought was great and just what we were in the mood for. We sat outside on their patio and had apps and entrees which we all enjoyed. The wait staff was very nice and attentive. We enjoyed the bread, 2 different kinds of pizza, meatballs, cheese apps etc. Definitely would come back if ever in the area again. read more

This place is amazing! We came here as a large party and the server/staff was very efficient and organized. Get the pasta!! Any pasta!! Get the cocktails!! Any cocktails!! read more

Unfortunately, the food was mediocre at best. The uncut salad was served with bottled dressing. The two chicken dishes had pre-cooked overcooked chicken breasts not quite as chewy as beef jerky. The sauces were canned. The service was excellent and the ambiance was fine. But it was poor value for $90. Won't be back. read more

I was craving Fettuccine Alfredo so I went to my neighborhood Italian restaurant down the street in Dove Mountain. Upon walking in, it is not very big inside. I felt crammed by the front door with others who were waiting for their takeout orders. It was very pricey for a dinner for just myself. The pasta was very oily and not very appetizing. The bread looked like it had been smashed. Not a very good experience for my first time. read more

I used to come here all the time and the food and service was always top notch. I brought my boyfriend in several months ago and we sat outside. The side patio was full and we were seated on the front patio area and basically forgotten about. We finally ordered and after our food was delivered our server never came back (we wanted to ask for cheese/peppers but never got a chance and our drinks were never refilled). I literally wrote on the bill "you forgot about us" but didn't complain and left a normal tip, hoping it was just an off night. The cheese bread and pasta dishes we ordered were fine otherwise. I finally convinced my boyfriend to give it another chance recently. We were greeted and seated by the same person who had been our previous server (and turns out she was again our server). Again seated alone in the front patio. Again forgotten. We ordered beverages and I set a timer; it was more than 10 mins for her to bring our water and sodas and take our order. I told her (politely but with disappointment) that we had the same issue last time we were there and she cut me off and insisted she would get our orders in immediately. She did and the eggplant parm and pizza arrived in a reasonable time but she never came back to check on us for way too long and we went without salt/pepper that we wanted to request. Pizza was dry and disappointing. The eggplant was ok. Very sad to see how the service has declined. The food wasn't as good as before (portions and quality) but I assume every restaurant is struggling and try to give the benefit of doubt. Sadly, I don't think my boyfriend will be willing to give it another shot. read more

11-13-2024 I'm buying a home in Dove Mountain and saw this Italian restaurant. Service was good. Food needs improveming. Had the shrimp scapy. Shrimp and noodles were over cooked. Pasta dish was watery. Paid $15 for a glass of wine maybe 4 oz, if that. Bartender needs more training. Sad to say we will not be returning. read more

What a joke!!! Moved from Denver to Marana and just arrived tonight. This was one of the only non-fast food restaurants that delivered, and Yelp gave it 4 stars, so I gave it a try. Spent $100 on 3 entrees and one appetizer, I couldn't be more disappointed. What a waste of money! After waiting over an hour the food arrived COLD with tiny portions and little to no taste. The muscles are sitting in water, not a white wine garlic sauce. The spinach that comes with the eggplant parm is literally a few wilted leaves. The eggplant parmesan is overcooked, burnt edges, hard, no way it was made fresh. That dish cost $20! The shrimp pasta dish cost $23(!!) has only a FIVE shrimp. What a joke. I will never be ordering from here again. read more

The food (pizza & mussels with a foamy adult beverage) was great. I live a few hundred yards north of the restaurant and usually go there when my facility offers "Pizza). Vero Amore is much better. We have a new chef so the gap may narrow. Somehow I doubt corporate budgets will compete against Ver Amore. I'm trying to talk them into one or more seafood pizzas. Yes, it's not equal to The Keg or Jonathan's Cork when Jonathan still owned it. But for two guys whose average age is 57 (I'm 80) who spent hours moving from one apartment to another, we did well. Wish my youngest son could have joined us because he worked hard as well but had to leave before lunch. read more

Just OK. We were there on a Sunday for dinner and both had pasta, wine and my husband had a salad. $85 including tip. Mediterranean pasta with a pesto cream sauce was bland and lacked salt and flavor; the chicken in the dish tasted old. Shrimp Fra diavolo flavor was good but pasta was mushy and there were five shrimp (probably U21s/small) for $22. We get it, inflation, but uninteresting food just isn't worth it. read more

Much smaller than their Ft Lowell location. Was waiting to be seated but somehow the people who were literally standing behind us were asked how can they be helped before we were asked. Enjoyed the mussels with white wine garlic sauce and fettuccine Alfredo with chicken. Husband ordered salsiccia pizza and said it tasted as sad as it looked and that his beer was flat. Our waiter was the star of the dinner with how warm/inviting and attentive he was. read more

Very disappointed with the service. Not sure if everyone was in a bad mood but the service was unacceptable. We sat at a high top table and were ignored for 20 minutes. A couple left at the bar so we went to sit there but were asked to move so they could clean up. So we went to another spot at the bar and were again ignored again when the bartender already knew we had been waiting for so long. Go to Dove Mountain Brewery instead. Much better service. We have been going to Vera Amore for years but are done with them! read more

Vero has been a favorite in our house for YEARS--but it was absolutely awful tonight. No flavor at all--my regular pasta didn't have all the toppings that are usually on there. This was our first time getting this place, it was AWFUL the alfredo my daughter and I couldn't even eat because it's dripping and pooled with oil. Wow. What a disappointment of the 3 pizzas we got last night for $50. They weren't ready until 1/2 hour after we had called and scheduled them for pickup. It appears they had missed the phone order. The bottom of the crusts were burnt. The toppings were so minimal and just not good at all. We are rarely dissatisfied enough to write a review...maybe they just had an off night or a careless employee. While my husband waited the 1/2 hour in the restaurant after they were supposed to be ready, no employee said anything to him while he sat at the bar and waited. It looks from the outside like a nice place but very disappointing. We won't be back. read more

Been here a few times with the family. Right next to dove mountain brewery. Pizza is top notch and so is the other food. Everything is good at a decent price. For Tucson this is REALLY GOOD FOOD!!! Great service, generous wine pour & the fresh pasta was delicious! Would recommend for a date night. Sit outside!

I used Vero Amore to cater a coed baby shower I had for 30 people. They did a fantastic job! The crust on the chicken parm was light and crunchy, the meatballs were AWESOME, the salad was crisp and fresh. I was even surprised at the flavor in the tomatoes, which in Tucson doesn't usually have any. Ha The sauces for the pasta was really good as well. I picked the order up myself and only waited a few minutes before they brought it out and loaded it into my car for me. Right on time. I highly recommend them. read more

Don't let the full name fool you. The name only says pizza but they have much more than that! This is a full Italian restaurant with not only pizza, but delicious appetizers, a lot of drink options, rich pasta dishes and many desserts! Our meal was perfect from start to finish. We were able to just make it right before Happy Hour ended (between 2-6 pm) and they honored the HH pricing for our drinks and appetizer. We each had a Strawberry Sangria and shared a bruschetta appetizer. The bruschetta was phenomenal...nice crusty bread with melted blue cheese and parmesan on top and large chunks of tomato. So good! For my main dish I ordered the Mediterranean Pasta and my boyfriend ordered the Fettuccine Alfredo. Both pastas were so flavorful and very cheesy which was fantastic. For dessert we ordered the cannoli to-go. I was a little disappointed that they were mini cannoli and not full sized but they still tasted delicious. All in all we will absolutely be back for more! read more
