Roquette is fabulous! I invited friends from out of town to meet there for drinks. I really wanted to dazzle my friends and Roquette did not disappoint. Really good drinks! I'm impressed that the bartender can make an extremely amazing cocktail. We came here after dinner as it was open and plenty of seating available. I got the Panic Button (gin, grapefruit, lemon and egg white) it was delicious! Not overly sweet and had a good tart to it. We also ordered the New York sour, and it was delicious! The bartender seriously knew what he was doing. Prices are Seattle normal (or so I noticed now), about $15-$16. Love the vibe and craft cocktails. read more

Hidden behind a blue facade lies one of my favorite bars in Seattle. The bar has a sophisticated and intimate vibe and a distinct and pleasant scent as well. Wednesday, June 30th 2021, I sat down at a bar in Seattle for the first time since March 15, 2020. A veil was lifted over Belltown. Covid-19 is still lurking, but with one hand tied behind its back. For me, life must begin again and anew. At my age, I have to cherish every smile, hug, and handshake. I felt like Vasco de Gama navigating my bar stool at Roquette. I looked up at Joe, the barkeep at Roquette, and almost yelled out "Land Ho!" He mixed me one of his expert concoctions, and I felt right at home, discovery was unnecessary. I have written about Roquette, one of Seattle's best cocktail bars, snug, discreet, and romantic. It's like a tiny boîte in on a quiet street in the Ninth Arrondissement of Paris, sophisticated and charming, without effort or pretense. I have a reservation tonight at Roquette. A dear couple is visiting from Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and I want to show them the best of Seattle. The last time we were together was in Paris. Cozy little bar with friendly staff and tinned fish!! Panic Button was pretty, tho a little too sweet for me. Sparkling rose was a nice sipper with our snacks. Their daily happy hour is 5pm - 7pm which makes so much more sense than the usual 3pm - 5pm I see at other places. Their cocktails are delicious and artfully crafted. Relaxing, cozy ambience with dim lighting which is good for tired eyes when winding down. Cute decor. read more

Me and my friends ordered the Panic Button which was recommended to us and I got to say this was a really interesting experience. The server was really welcoming and friendly. Didn't take long for our drinks. Upon taking a few sips, I already like the drink; then taking the seed and chewing it left a numb feeling (also really salty at first) but then following up with the drink was really unique. Cute little bar next to Umi. Love the interior although the palm trees on the back wall are really random. Great bartenders, especially Brennan. (Hope I remembered right) try their version of the French 75 and also their mango spritzer. Really wonderful. read more

Love this place -- I was introduced to this place by friends in July '21 and I've been looking for excuses to head this way ever since. The dimly lit intimate atmosphere is exactly what I'm looking for from a lounge, as the distance between folks is far enough that I'm not constantly having to raise my voice to talk. The server where we had dinner earlier in the evening told us this was a speakeasy. I think people in Seattle have a different concept of speakeasy than we do in Chicago. I would call this more of a tavern with mixologist. It's small and casual. We weee coming from a fancy dinner and felt really overdressed. We started to leave but the bartenders convinced us to stay and give it a try. I'm glad we did. We visit Seattle once or twice a year and lived on the east side for a year. This was hands down the best bar I've visited in the PNW. The drinks were good. The service was great and the other patrons were friendly and fun to talk to. One of my knocks against Seattle-area bars was that never felt very friendly. You can sit down at a bar in Chicago and make new best friends in an hour. In Seattle, no one even talks to you. This bar is making me reconsider that stance. Maybe it's just the bars I've been going to. If you like friendly bars with good drinks, i think you should give Roquette a try. read more

Wow. Did not expect such an excellent cocktail experience after leaving Bath Tub Gin & Co unsatisfied. Best Sazerac variation ive ever had, and best non-alc options I've ever tasted (my prego wife was astounded). Just a perfect bar that should be every tourist's cocktail destination in Seattle. I picked this spot for going out to celebrate my birthday with a friend, after hearing lots of buzz. The ambiance is really beautiful and the blue velvet couches/tropical mural are very classy and well-done. However, the drinks didn't especially 'wow' me--the menu is divided up into categories like "grapes", "grains," etc. Lots of cognac I noticed! I opted for "The Fall of Man" which had sherry in it as well as green apples for a garnish. My friend ordered a drink that had strawberries for a garnish (can't remember what else was in it). We both enjoyed the drinks but for $16 cocktails I guess I was expecting something a bit more memorable. P.S. They have a $60 off-menu snack which consists of caviar and Bugles. Definitely one of the best cocktail spots with a French twist - they even had Amer Picon! Love the space and set up and menu is a nice mix of classics as well as some originals. Started off with their Best Vesper, which was definitely one of the best I have had. Loved the addition of bergamot bitters and clean taste I then immediately followed with a Brooklyn, as they had the Amer Picon, and it was the first time I had a proper one since moving back to the US. I ended with the Tipperay which was a tasty combination of Irish whiskey, vermouth Cocchi Torino, green chartreuse, orange bitters. Food is limited to tins, and the tuna we had also hit the spot. Roquette really hits all the right notes, and it will be a place that I will return to over and over again. read more

AMAZING (and beautiful) cocktails! Wish their snack/food menu was bigger, but I understand that restaurants have had to switch up their offerings in covid times. For food right now, they've got all sorts of tinned fish; served with various pickled items and crackers. Had the Panic Button cocktail, which has some seed that makes your tongue feel fuzzed and tingly for a bit. The bartender recommended eating it halfway through the drink. Definitely an experience! Small and intimate speakeasy where you can actually have a conversation while enjoying a drink. Large selection of liquors. High end cocktails range from $15-50+. Definitely a place for a fancy cocktail, but not more than one if you are on a budget. I had a vesper martini (my favorite when made correctly) and they did not disappoint. Great service. read more

Came here based on my friend's suggestion on a Friday night, it was pretty busy but we were lucky enough have be able to grab 2 seats at the bar. I love the setting and the intimate atmosphere of the place, the whole bar is relatively small and more of the tables were reserved, so reservation is highly recommended. Stopped by here for a quick drink before an event and it was cool. Serious cocktail vibes and pretty extensive menu (seems to have something for everyone). Got the jade monkey which was fine but probably my mistake because I didn't see that there was midori in it so it ended up feeling like a green melon calpico which is not my favorite but I appreciate the artistry that went into the cocktail. If you charge premium prices for drinks you better be professional and provide premium customer service. My partner and I came in on a slow Monday afternoon. The two gents who served us were delightful (Joe and Kevin..? Sorry gents). I asked for a non-alcoholic beverage and received a divine Pathfinder, grenadine, coffee concoction. She ordered a Chartreuse highball off of their happy hour menu. Truly magnificent. Roquette is one of my favorite cocktail bars in Seattle. They are located next to Umi Sake House behind a blue door. When you enter you enter a kind of dim light oasis. I would recommend sitting at the bar for your first visit so you can get recommendations from the bartenders (ALL OF WHICH ARE AMAZING). They've also added more food and have caviar as well. Instead of traditionally serving it with Blinis they do it with bugles which I totally prefer. Every drink I've had here has been amazing and I love coming to visit on a cold seattle night read more

With this attitude toward service, I'm sure none of them realized what kind of business walked out the door in that moment, given I live within walking distance, happen to like a good whiskey, and believe in tipping handsomely for good service. But I get it...surely they saw me and likely filter for a different type of clientele. It's just that even over the years I've been passing by it hasn't worked. But each to their own; never been back.

I visited on a Saturday night with a close friend who is South African, and she immediately felt right back at home! The ambiance is intimate, cozy, and classy without trying too hard. The kinda sophisticated place for adults to have a beverage after dinner! The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming, adding to the relaxed and inviting vibe. We tried a well known South African Shot called a Springbok Shooter ; named after the national rugby team due to its green and gold colorshot. My friend being a native swore by this classic. Unfortunately, it was not for me. A mix of crème de menthe and Amarula, it honestly tasted like NyQuil in shot form. An experience, yes. A repeat, nope! That said, the Espresso Martini was absolutely perfect. Smooth, balanced, and exactly what I needed for a post dinner pick me up. It fully redeemed the drink portion of the night and then some. Overall, Karoo Cafe is a fantastic spot with a warm atmosphere, great service, and standout cocktails. I would absolutely recommend it, especially if you are looking for something unique and genuinely welcoming in Seattle.

Since the whole city and beyond was celebrating the Seahawks, everyone was partying, especially around Pioneer Square, including at Underbelly. Because of so, they had event specials with discounted taps, featured cocktails and a pizza special for grub. You order at the bar, pick a seat, drink and have fun. My friends and I had a few beers here and ended up leaving when the sun went down. Music was blasting, everyone was chanting SEA-HAWKS!, and the staff was super friendly. PLUS, they allow dogs here. I also dig the prohibition-era vibes here, paying homage to Seattle's underground days. If you're in Pioneer Square and need a drink or three, Underbelly is a fun spot for that. I'll definitely be back for a good time.

My favorite was the Coconut Carl I'd absolutely order that again. The bar has two floors, arcade games, great music, and so much to look at. One of the funniest and most unique parts of the experience was seeing so many people walking around wearing the signature "dickhead" hats it definitely added to the playful atmosphere. The bartenders were kind and efficient. They weren't very chatty, but they made the drinks quickly and kept things moving. Overall, I'd recommend coming at least once for the experience. It's unlike your typical bar and is worth visiting just for the fun, over-the-top atmosphere.
