Pitaya smoothie
Mark L.

The pitaya smoothie was pretty good. This was a very run-of-the-mill smoothie/acai location. You choose a smoothie base and add some toppings. I added spinach and cinnamon, but the toppings didn't really seem to affect the smoothie flavor very much. The location was very aesthetic and clean, a great place to just vibe. Seating options were limited, so you'll probably be standing or just leaving. The staff is super friendly and gave some great recommendations for toppings. The whole operation was super smooth, and our drinks came out really quickly.

Medium with blue magic, overnight oats, honey granola, banana, strawberries, blueberries, and peanut butter and honey please and thank you
Jay S.

Super patient workers took extra care with my orders and helped me get the right match for me and my kids. Highly recommend to go in and say hi to them, they are super sweet. Açaí Bowls are bomb as well. Ordered medium acai base with blue magic , honey almond granola, banana, blueberries, strawberries, peanut butter and honey.

Açaí Bowl

Heavenly. Absolutely everything I needed and more! This is my new favorite spot for açaí bowls because it's truly a hidden gem. So many topping options and base choices to create a multi-layered bowl of deliciousness. My favorite base was the matcha and I loved the fresh fruits with agave. Fast and friendly service in a casual, welcoming environment. Excited for my next visit!!

Jessica G.

Yummy açaí bowl spot! They offer unlimited toppings like fresh fruit, nuts, seeds, and honey, along with different bases such as açaí and chia pudding. I ordered a medium bowl with 4 different bases and multiple toppings, it was the perfect size to share. They have seating inside so we enjoyed our bowl at the shop!

Acai Bowl - small
Tiffany Y.

I got the small açaí bowl with chia seed pudding, hemp heart granola, blueberries, bananas, goji berries, almonds, cocoa nibs, almond butter, and honey drizzle. The açaí is delicious, creamy, and not too sweet. Balanced well with the nut butter and burst of blueberries. The chia seed pudding was a perfect pair with the açaí. It was refreshing and a perfect summer treat. The small alone was very satisfying. Would recommend as it is a 10/10 for me. The unlimited toppings means limitless creation. Would be returning.

Smoothie $9.95
Jessica H.

My favorite smoothie/bowl place. Everything is fresh and it's always build your own smoothie for only $9.95. You honestly can't beat that, and you can included protein powder and no extra charge. If they had rewards, that would be amazing but it's probably not needed lol

Breana A.

So delicious and the service was great! amazing vibes from the place. They had me sold by the unlimited toppings! So yummy. My bf and I shared the large.

Tara L.

Came for breakfast during our trip to Pasadena. The açaí bowls were okay. The toppings were good but the açaí could've been better. It wasn't very sweet and kind of bland. My daughter ordered half açaí and half overnight oats but they forgot to put the açaí. I went back in and they gave us a small scoop of açaí in a separate bowl. I tried a bit of her overnight oats which she didn't finish and I didn't care for it.

Joe L.

Solid place for acai bowls and everything was super fresh. Love the option of building your own bowl and how you can designate the date/time of when you want to pick up your order.

Small acai with oatmeal, blueberries, almonds and vanilla granola
Lori R.

Nice quality. All four of us enjoyed our bowls/smoothie Note the small is very generous. Limited seating.

Jennifer C.

Huge fan of this place. Whenever I come into town before or after spa, this place is perfect for a light pick me up. Their avocado toast is heavenly and perfectly seasoned with salt, pepper, everything, and chili pepper flakes. The acai bowl base we got included the acai, coconut, and blue majik. The bases were not too sweet and the coconut was very creamy and flavorful. Everything is fresh and the service is always friendly.

Build your own Acai Bowl
Miranda C.

Quick and easy build your own acai bowl spot. The service was super quick and they gave a generous serving of toppings. Heads up it's a grab and go place-- small shop and no place to sit inside. There's a bench in the front if you absolutely have to sit though.

BYO acai bowl.
Albert A.

Okay acai bowl with below average customer service. I would say the value is below what you pay for, not worth $13. The taste is good it's an acai bowl but not as delicious as I've had at other places. over all service and product are 3 stars. Staff is not friendly. They're not rude but they don't go beyond the basic actions of taking your order and putting g toppings on a bowl.

Ask the Community - Roots & Rye

What taste would you compare the blue majik too? Is it on the fruity side or bitter?

Definitely fruity. They described it as coconut, pineapple, maybe mango? Kinda like a pina colada. Not as strong. Mild flavors. YUMMY!

Anyone know what brand gluten free bread they use?

Approx how much sugar is in a bowl? Natural or added?

My estimate for a 24 oz bowl is between 50-90 grams of sugar. More if you add agave or honee.

We arrived just before noon and there was already a wait list and line for a table. When checking in, we were told it would be about a half hour wait or so. It's fine, they take your number and text you to let you know when your table is ready. Also, it's advised to look at the menu beforehand as when your table is ready, you order before being seated. It did take about half an hour or so till we got seated. We originally asked for a table outside but it wasn't available so inside it was. You order before being seated and a number placards is given for the table. Menu, it has a a lot of good dishes to choose from. The last time we were here the meal was great so we knew what to expect again. Started off with some mimosas, which was about 10.00 a glass. Also water was brought out. Every single one of the staff were so friendly which is nice to walk into a place so welcoming. Friendly hi, making sure everyone was taken care of and if anything was needed. Great customer service. Drinks didn't take long to arrive followed by the first item. The cinnamon apple French toast. It was quite nice with the crunch and apple jam. Everything was great when brought out that no extra syrup was needed. Also served with whipped cream. Within a Couple minutes after that, the entrees came out. An order of the kimchi buttered fried chicken Benedict. First off, it was delicious. Two big portions of Benedict, with kimchi added and the chicken had a lot of flavors. It wasn't too powering with the kimchi and worked really well. That came with their potatoes and a side salad. And the Norwegian Benedict with smoked salmon. Basically a smoked salmon Benedict with all the trimmings. The meals were great and the dishes were massive. We've seen a couple of people sharing plates and lots of leftovers. The food was great and delicious. Service didn't take long after ordering and staff were all very friendly. The only waiting was for a table but that's a given during the weekend. They are limited in hours. Mainly breakfast and brunch but the food was great. Until next time. I had the Nashville Benedict, which was pretty good, I would've liked the chicken to be a little spicier, but it was tender, and the eggs were excellent. There's a convenient parking lot behind and around the corner. Definitely check it out.

Our food took quite a while to arrive, close to 30 mins! But the staff was very apologetic and even brought us a complimentary muffin while we waited. The pancakes were light, fluffy, and delicious. I swapped the bacon for tofu, and it made for a satisfying breakfast. However, my husband wasn't as impressed with his brisket burrito, saying it was a bit dry. It's a cute little cafe with a nice and welcoming interior located in Downtown Pasadena. Service was super friendly, and the owner took the time to explain some of the best dishes to us. Now for the food, everything was fantastic. Here are my thoughts: La Bordelaise - This was such a unique savory crepe. The balance of flavors was so good, with salmon and spinach mixed inside. Everything just worked together. I've never had anything quite like this, but I would easily get it again. (5/5) Fantasy Crepe - This is your sweet crepe. It's simple but makes for a nice treat. The crepe had a great texture, and nothing was overpowering. Who doesn't love Nutella? Really enjoyable. (4.5/5) Croque Madame - Another simple yet delicious dish. It's basically a ham and cheese sandwich with a runny egg on top. Super simple, but you can really taste the freshness of each ingredient. (5/5) Canele de Bordeaux - This is a MUST GET. I've never had a canele that tasted as good as these. The flavors were perfectly balanced, not overly sweet, with a crunchy outside and soft interior. Literally perfection! (5/5) Viennois - A fun little way to take a shot of espresso. It's topped with whipped cream, and I was told not to mix it and just drink it all together. It was bomb. Instead, our bill included a mandatory 20% gratuity, with tax applied to that charge--bringing its effective cost to approximately 22% of the food and beverage total. In my view, a mandatory charge is a service fee, regardless of whether it's labeled a "gratuity." Being required to pay it despite such inattentive service left a poor impression.
