We had a clog where our shower filled up with sewage when we flushed the toilets. We thought it might be the main line and called Rooter Solutions because they were offering a $54 deal on drain cleaning (fyi, that's how they get you). The guys came out and snaked our line and did pull out some small wookie-like substance which was likely the culprit. Then they showed us phony video footage of a tree branch allegedly going through our pipes and told us that we needed to do $8,800 worth of work to repair the pipe, and they told us it was imperative that we do it right away. (Yes, EIGHT THOUSAND, not a typo). They said they were going to have to dig 6 feet down underneath our house or go into our home and drill through the floor and slab to get to the pipe. WHAT??? It sounded highly exorbitant and suspect, so we decided to get a second opinion and called a local plumber. They came and inspected the same line with their camera and were able to get it all the way to the street and found no blockage, no tree roots, NOTHING! These people are scam artists. I am sickened to my stomach by what they did. Not only did they try to rip us off, but they took advantage of a disabled person in the process. When we said we couldn't afford it, they asked us how much we could afford and said they would work with us. It sounds unbelievable, but my cameras caught it all. Shame on you read more

He was awesome to work with--super friendly, showed up on time, and really knew his stuff. This is a very strange company - stay aware before agreeing to service with them! I hate to say I fell for their $54 clean out special. I had a clogged kitchen sink drain and they were able to come out same day. They spent over an hour here and were not able to fix the problem. Then a "manager" showed up, who I truly believe came in as a sales person. I didn't get asked what I wanted to do, I got told "this is what they're going to do.." they wanted to replace my cast iron T split in my kitchen drain before even addressing the actual problem. Got quoted $2800 but with a Christmas special for $2500 and they would include the dry wall repair. Luckily I'm not easily won over and said for that price I will get a second opinion. They also left our kitchen drain leaking from both drains, which we had no leaks before. We had a different plumber come out the next day who was able to snake through the problem in less than an hour and fixed the leaks these people left us with. Definitely do not recommend. read more

If you call this company to snake a clogged clean out and they say it won't clear, the snake won't go through, the line is broken - I URGE YOU TO GET A SECOND OPIONION!!!! They did this to me and I told my regular plumber ( who didn't answer when I called, so I called Rooter Solutions of Ventura ) and he said "meet me there they did this to some of my other customers." I met him there, he snaked the line in less than 3 minutes. Rooter Solutions had me sign a contract for over $4400. These contracts A 3 DAY RIGHT OF RECISION!! I just closed escrow on a new house and had a washing machine back up which I assumed I needed to have the line snaked. In Escrow, the lateral sewer line had been replaced, and there was a plumbing inspection. Rooter Solutions showed up immediately, which was nice. Within two hours they came out to take a look at my problem. Carlos was an awesome worker and a nice person. He was the main technician. Carlos is the reason they're getting three stars. The problem started when the field manager showed up, with a trainee. They were friendly and personable, but a little bit too slick. Suddenly, my job went from a $54 snake of the main line to a quote for a $40,000 pipe replacement. He said they couldn't snake through whatever was wrong and they ran a camera in the line and talked about where all the broken pipes were and how the person who replaced the lateral line had done all , bad work and wrong fittings. I almost had a mental meltdown when he said $40,000 because he wanted me to sign up for that right there with no interest financing. I said that can't happen I'm just going to have to live with bad Plumbing. Someone I spoke to suggested I get a second opinion so I had another plumber come out on Saturday with a snake. He snaked the line and guess what? My clog is gone. My plumbing is draining perfectly fine. So Rooter Solutions was trying to upsell me on a $40,000 re-pipe. had them come in to my house yesterday to unclog my kitchen sink drain. The technician stated that he ran the snake through the cleanout outside and it will not go past 10 ft. He suggested camera inspection and hydro jet All of a sudden a $54 unclogging job was turning into a $1,300 plus. I then explored them replacing the 15 ft section of my 3 inch cast iron drain pipe running through my basement. A technician went in the crawl space, reported a leak as well and quoted $6500 to replace the entire length of 20 ft pipe (29 ft straight Pope, one tee, one elbow, 4 couplers and very minor couple of ft of digging). Alternate was to replace only the 10 ft straight pipe (3 in ABS pipe, one elbow. 4 coiplers), price $3200.​ I let them go and I called my handyman. He snaked it at the same spot all the way and reported no blockage. Drain cleared and problem solved. He dud not even charge me for a 10 minute job. He also inspected the crawl space pipe and reported no leak there. He also said that to replace the 15 ft pipe ( which he said was not needed), 2 hrs of labor and $100 material. Rooter solutions wanted to charge over $3200, which will be almost $1600 an hour labor rate. read more

We called Router Solutions to see if we could fix whatever was going on with our water, we really didn't know what was wrong. We were very disappointed to learn that our plumbing was "beyond repair" in the eyes of the guy they sent, and that EVERYTHING would need to be REDONE, this would take days to complete, and it would cost us roughly 20K. We obviously weren't interested in such a ridiculous quote. You can tell by our home that not only are we not rich, but we also live very minimally and simply by choice. Luckily, we have a friend who is a plumber, and he happened to be visiting from Utah, so we had HIM take a look at our so called "disastrous plumbing" situation. We are very fortunate that we trusted our gut instead of sketchy guy from Rooter Solutions and $400 and 20 min later (half that money for parts) our water is working just fine. So, if you'd like to pay roughly a down payment for a home to fix your plumbing, this is your company hands down. As far as the guy they sent I think he was the manager (I can't recall since we asked for bids from a few different businesses), and he was incredibly condescending for the 15 min he spent at our home. He wanted to add on nonsensical things like fixtures that are modern and less than 5 yr old, they were upgraded recently. We didn't want to tear out all of our fixtures just for this guy who couldn't explain why this was necessary. His only mission was to sell us something we really didn't need, and he suggested we finance this misadventure since we didn't have 20K laying around. We DO need to upgrade our filtration system, etc but we've decided to go with someone else instead, in other words....people we can trust. Given some of the other one star reviews with the same complaints, I guess it's the luck of the draw if you have a good experience or not. All I can say is tread carefully, out of the 3 bids we got, this one was far beyond the other 2 as far as costs and tearing up our household for a number of days...I don't think 'whatever his name was' had a clue. read more

Avoid these scammers! I only gave them 1 star cuz you have to. I had a simple clog in my kitchen sink drain and just wanted it cleared. They offered a $54 service so I gave them a try. They claimed they were getting dirt/mud in their rooter machine - meaning my pipe was broken and Sean - a manager (sales person) miraculously showed up with a camera and tried to sell me $17 thousand dollars worth of new plumbing that would require cutting through concrete in my garage etc. I was stunned to say the least and said I wanted to think about it (and get another quote). Called a friend whose BF is a plumber and he came out and cleared it in less than 15 mins - with no dirt/mud on the rooter. Total scam!!! Beware!! read more

Well, the $54 offer ended up as bait. It worked for about two weeks, and then it turned out that we would have needed to pay more for the clogged drain to be completely free from obstruction. It's been clogged again, exactly the way it was before the "treatment." Granted, we were forewarned during the initial visit, but caveat emptor - the $54 offer only works for a very superficial clog, not something remotely akin to getting the drain snaked completely, with the offending gunk resurrected as evidence. Next time, it's back to our regular plumber. read more

Called rooter solutions for a backed up bath tub. The plumber was unable to clear and so called for another plumber who came and suggested we replace the entire clean out because the drain was broken at a cost of almost $2000. As well as suggesting that we join their exclusive plumber program at a cost of nearly $300 a year. We called another company and they were able to clear the plugged drain in about 10 minutes which turned out to be just a hair ball for only $75. Thank you to Gallegos Plumbing for saving us $1900. Moral of the story is always get a second opinion on expensive repairs. read more

Blatantly lied to my face. My sink was clogged. Called these guys to do the rooter magic thing. Two people came out and told me that all the pipes were leaking under my house and needed to be replaced. They did not try using the rooter. Called a second plumber for a second opinion. Took him 5 minutes to clear the drain. Confirmed that there were no leaks under the house and that all the pipes are fine. Total scammers. Don't call them. read more
