We typically patron Roosters in Waverly, which we absolutely adore as a family. Our visit to the Old Bank location was rather unimpressive and not standard of our previous visits to Roosters. My youngest son requested Roosters for his birthday. It was busy and everything came at different times, wrong, and with the servers being overwhelmed it could never be addressed. I'm here to tell ya, Roosters never disappoints. I don't know how places like BW's and Hooters are still open when Roosters really just takes the cake. We are always quick to be seated. The food comes quickly and the prices are reasonable. The wide variety of menu options are a plus. I love the salads and their Rooster dressing is really delicious. The food is really good, the prices are low, and the service is great, but it's right next door to a mobile home park so be prepared for a crowd of pill-popping unemployed drunk women who live off of child support checks meant for their kids. I went during the week for lunch and noticed that something was off as soon as I saw a crazy woman talking to herself outside the front door at 11:00am. Then another intoxicated woman came in with 2 toddlers and put them in high chairs in front of the keno machine to play slots for an hour while she left them unattended and went somewhere else. Torn yet again with a review due the service! My luck lately... I visited first Roosters for the first time, and at the end of the day, would definitely return. It's definitely a pain to drive from Cincinnati, but I really thought the food made it worth it. My boyfriend and I sat in the bar area at one of the high-top tables, so maybe that's why our service was so bad. We got two beers that came pretty quickly, but usually they will also bring waters (especially at a wings joint with all that hot sauce!) I guess we could have just ordered them but were a little distracted by the hunger pains. We ordered the fried mac and cheese appetizer, traditional wings in the Carolina gold sauce, and boneless in the medium sauce. The food was incredible! I'm still dreaming of the Carolina gold sauce and the boneless wings. The mac and cheese bites were great bar food, and I recommend trying them with some of the Roosters hot sauce. The crappy part was how little the waitress stopped by (she was also bartending, so that was their first mistake). They forgot the celery and ranch we ordered, and they also forgot the side of feathers sauce I ordered (but still charged me for). We waited a while to get our checks, and it honestly wasn't worth asking for the $.60 back. Just was annoying that I still got charged. The restaurant wasn't terribly busy, so I did expect the service to be a little better. But, the wings still were fabulous, so I will definitely be returning. read more
