I have driven by Hook Fish and Chicken for years, always wondering what their food was like. The dine in area is fairly small, maybe three or four tables that can seat four. They are enforcing covid related rules - but, I had to clean my own table. Not that big a deal - I just happened to have some time in between errands and thought to try them out - after ten years or so of passing right by them - I'm glad I finally got the chance to stop in. A steady stream of customers came in - apparently they called ahead since their wait was less than five minutes or so. The menu is limited - but, my two piece cod plate was a fairly good portion for the price. I chose the cole slaw for my side. It was the perfect combination of sweet, sour and crunchy. It was a nice palate cleanser for the fried fish! In my opinion there is nothing better than freshly made cole slaw! They do have a nice selection of desserts - banana pudding, frosted cakes - I got the yellow cake with chocolate frosting. It was a great finish to a well made, fresh fish fried to perfection. Ditch the burger for lunch. Instead get a hot made to order fried tilapia lunch with french fries and a drink for eight bucks. Food is great can't go wrong. read more

I miss the old owners, the food used to be great.. but If I could give a zero out of 10 I would. Worst experience ever. Food is horrible, no meat on fish. This was the absolute worst experience. I never received any text notifications from the driver and on top of that I never received my order and Grub Hub was not helpful at all. The location is in a warehouse, industrial area so don't expect a 5 star restaurant. It's just a simple fast food establishments that specializes in chicken, fish & subs. It's located on a corner so easy to spot on the road. There's a fair amount of parking & two ways to enter the parking area. The exterior is modest but with good signage. The interior is slightly smaller & simply decorated. Counter service with pickup. There are 2&4 top Formica tables in the Dining area. The woman behind the Counter was very nice, & efficient. There were at least 4 takeout orders in a 15 mins period do they do a brisk takeout service. I ordered the Cod Dinner which was 2 pieces of cod, fries & cole slaw. The cod was breaded in a very light cornmeal batter & it was cooked to order. The fish & fries were piping hot too. Both were absolutely delicious. The Cole slaw was pretty standard. It was creamy & had a nice crunch. I really liked this place. It is totally no muss, no fuss eating establishment. Uncomplicated delicious food served efficiently by nice staff. A new location for the old wing joint! Easily my favorite place for wings with a simple salt-n-pepper seasoning. These wings need nothing else. This place was designed for the purpose of ordering copious amounts of wings for your big party. They never get old. You can't have enough. Wings can be a bit pricey these days, but for my dollar this is my number one choice. Particularly if you are purchasing in large quantities. I was sad to see them leave the College Hill area, but glad they aren't gone for good. The new location in the Woodlawn area is conveniently located across from Glenwood Gardens at the confluence of Glendale-Milford and the Pike. read more

Tasty, fast, fairly inexpensive, good service. I couldn't really ask for more. I was in metro Cincy on a business trip and staying in Sharonville. Found Hook on here, ordered online, and it was ready when I got there about 10 minutes later. The woman behind the register was smiling and quick and checked to see if I had everything I needed. And, despite being stopped by a train on my way back to my hotel, the food was still hot. I got catfish, chicken tenders, fries, and peace cobbler. Nothing was disappointing. Hook Fish and Chicken is a fried food paradise location. I personally will say the best thing about it is their magic seasoning dust that is a secret lemon pepper seasoning. I normally will get the shrimp over their fish, but their chicken is also really good. My last visit I got the small shrimp plate with 15 fried shrimp, fries, a 12 oz drink, and a cake. The food was fresh and made to order, but the cake was definitely old and stale. Beware of the cake fridge when you go and just skip it. It's the main reason I had to give them 3 stars. I never have tried their gyro, but i think most people go for the fried foods. Service was a little rough as well, but I normally would not say a takeout place like this is world renowned for their service. Would I eat here again? Yes, but I think it would have to be in the right mood at the right time for me to go again. read more

If you like fried chicken or wings, you'll like Hook. It doesn't look like much on the outside or the inside but the food is great! High quality for the price. I've tried the chicken strips, wings, barbecue wings, and fries. All of them have been good but my favorite is the barbecue wings! I have gone to visit this location several times. There is a small area where you can sit in. You still get a carry out container either way. I think most people get it to go. I usually order either the chicken philly or the chicken gyro. The staff is the same every time I go. There is a lady there who takes your order. She is not super friendly but she is not mean either. She just does her job. I usually order the combo that comes with fries and a drink which consists of a can of pop. Usually the food is prepared pretty fast and it's cooked to order. They put this lemon pepper seasoning on the fries for flavor which is actually pretty good. The sandwich is tasty and I usually enjoy it with the fries. The food taste fresh and is a good portion. I would return to this location. Overall my experiences have been positive. They have a stamp card for rewards as well. Customer service is average. Food is good for the venue. This place never disappoints! The staff are friendly enough and the food is delicious. It's definitely more of a carry out place, as there is not a lot of seating. We've had their shrimp (both sizes), wings (both kinds), their fries and hamburgers, their chicken tenders. We like the shrimp the best though the Buffalo wings were really good. It's all breaded and deep fried but it tasted fresh. For sides I like the slaw and zucchini sticks. I give it 4 stars because it all kind of tastes the same with everything being breaded and deep fried, but if that's what you're looking for it's good. read more

The food was really pretty good. There was a line of 5 or so people at 8:00 on Tuesday night. The wait was only about 15 minutes for an order placed in person at the counter. The place has a few tables but seems to be better suited for take out. I would have given 5 stars except I did not know they did not give tarter sauce or ketchup. Living in Glendale near Hook Fish & Chicken, I was excited to see a new business take over what had formerly been an empty boarded up business at the corner of Springfield Pike and Glendale-Milford Rd. Unfortunately my family and I were disappointed with the food. Being from the South, I was glad to find a place in Cincinnati that actually had Fried Chicken Gizzards on the menu. Unfortunately their gizzards looked and had the texture of having been fried earlier in the day and they tasted like they had been fried in the same oil as the fish. The fried chicken tasted similar although they over do the "seasoning" and the chicken ended up being overly salty. Some of the chicken pieces were discolored dark and very dry like it had been sitting as well. Fried chicken should always be fried fresh in fresh oil, not recycled or reused oil especially from oil that was used to fry fish! In future given I have to drive by them every day on the way home; I might give them another chance on something more basic like a burger or philly steak, although that would still be hard to do given their name includes "Fish & Chicken"?! read more

This is a new place that just opened a few weeks ago just down the street from my house. Thought that we would try it see how it is. It was way better then I was expecting it to be. The food was all made freash and to order. I had the philly steak with fries and an order of fried oakar. It was one of the better sandwiches i have had from most places. The service was good. The place is nothing to look at on the inside. a few things on the wall but thats about it. I could see this becoming a common stop for me. read more

The lady at the counter was nice and gave me a few options that she said was good one of which was the gyro well being Greek and having a family owned Greek restaurant back home I'll give this one a shot!! I can only speak for the Philly cheese steak, which I loved. It has that perfect ratio of juicy steak and melty swiss that is the essence of this sandwhich. Plus the bread roll might have been the best I have had on a cheese steak. The onions were caramelized just enough and the peppers had a grilled flavor to them. I was wanting the 5.99 lunch special that includes fries and a drink, but the friendly cashier informed me that is for weekdays only. He gave it to me anyways!
