Service- was 5/5. Great staff and very friendly. Ambience- 3/5 - little outdated, but it was old school and fine. But they are doing some construction so TBD FOOD- 2/5. I hate giving this score but there's reasons and need to be honest. First the good: the Texas toast (hint of garlic which was great). Was Excellent. Like southern places give you white, they step up and make the Texas toast. It's extra charge but really good. The galactic sauce- on point. And glad it comes standard because unfortunately that's how I got through eating the chicken. I was really excited to try this. They have won numerous awards, huge Yelp score but today.. it was off. Upside- The chicken was crispy and juicy. Fried perfectly. The downside- which was huge- was the oil flavor on the chicken. It was a mix of old oil and they fried a bunch of fish, didn't change it and then chicken. I knew I was eating chicken but tasted like fried fish. Hoping it was just an off day for the fryers The chicken was fishy after taste.

on the top is vegan chicken and on the bottom is a 4 piece fried chicken order.

I really enjoyed my visit! The ambiance was amazing, service was fast, and the chicken was HUGE!!! I was a bit thrown off by the price since it is a little high, but you do get a lot of food with your order :) I will definitely be back. Also they had vegan chicken and my girlfriend liked it! The texas toast definitely left more to be desired though.

With the impending snow hunker down, yesterday, a few friends and myself decided to indulge in one of the finest dining experiences in Kentucky, the Big Baller at Galactic Fried Chicken in #DaytonKY. A feast served on their mother's fine china, it consists of deviled eggs, fried pickles, kale salad, fries, and a mountain of the best fried chicken in Kentucky, elegantly crowned with a bottle of Veuve Clicquot that is popped table side. An experience that is special as it is unique. I highly recommend this delightful experience served by the skillful proprietors Kathy and Shane!

Galactic Chicken is certainly what I would call a hidden gem. You May drive right past it if you didn't know it was there. The restaurant is small and doesn't have a lot of seating, but that has never been an issue before. The staff is always so nice and has great customer service. Typically I get the 3 tender combo. From the picture here, the chicken looks small, but I promise you it is a lot of meat. There's no fluff - you will be full! They also have 4 and 5 piece options. They also have their own sauce that is a combo of chipotle and honey mustard and it's delicious. The only drawback is that the place smells heavily of grease, which is understandable since it's a fried chicken restaurant. Just be prepared if you choose to dine in!

First let me say that the food here is great! We were so thrilled to find a place that did gluten free fried chicken. The food was hot and fresh and the house made sauces were delicious. If you go try the house sauce. It's a chipotle honey mustard and has a great smoky kick!

I'll be real with you--this was some solid chicken, but "best ever"? Nah, not quite. It's definitely riding the hype train, just not all the way to the station. The chicken and fries were fresh, tasty, and paired nicely with the sauces, so no complaints there. The atmosphere, though? It felt like I stepped into a time capsule from the early 2000s. The glowing reviews had me curious, and while the food didn't blow my mind, it did quiet my inner skeptic. The service was great--super helpful--and shoutout to the kitchen setup. It was unlike anything I've seen in a restaurant before, which I thought was pretty cool. Nestled in a tiny building in downtown Covington, it's holding its own. Definitely worth a try, but keep your expectations on low heat.

This place was BUSY. But they were also so sweet! The person that took our order was so nice and answered all of our questions. It's the type of place where you order at the counter and they bring the food to you, but they still checked on us repeatedly! The decor is sorta space themed, it has personality! And the food!! My girlfriend and I are both gluten free. So we were very excited to find a gfree chicken place! And it was good!! The chicken was crunchy on the outside but juicy and flavorful inside. The breading was seasoned well. The fried pickles were delicious!! We also enjoyed the deviled eggs! I want to try the jackfruit and chicken tenders next time, because there will be a next time!!

Chef Joseph here. The wife and I eat at Galactic Fried Chicken the other day and ordered their chicken tenders. They are wonderful the size of a half a breast coated in gluten-free batter and fried. Comes with coleslaw pickles and their signature Galactic sauce which is a wonderful. If you want to go for a drive this is the price to visit have a wonderful lunch.

We came to visit after learning they offer GF fried chicken. We drove almost 2 hrs so that my celiac fiancé to eat here. They don't use any wheat products in the fryers. The only gluten containing products they sell are Texas toast, wraps, and sandwiches. First impression was that it was HOT inside. They have a couple of window ACs but it was upretty uncomfortable. The staff was very friendly and service was excellent. The portions are very large. We ordered the 4 drumsticks and 3 chicken tender meals and could have shared just one meal. The fries were delicious. I loved how they were tossed in ranch dressing. As for the fried chicken- I found the breading to be a little too hard/crunchy for my taste but the flavor was unique and the chicken was tender. I am a sauce girl so I was very happy that they brought a whole bottle of ranch and Galaxy Sauce (think chipotle honey mustard with a kick) to the table. Overall, we were happy with our visit and would return when we are in the area again.

Everything is seasoned perfectly, cooked right, and served hot. The fried fish was crispy and flavorful, the mac and cheese was rich and comforting, the greens tasted like they came straight out of someone's family kitchen, and the candied yams were sweet and done just right. It's the kind of plate that reminds you why Southern cooking is so special. But what really stood out to me wasn't just the food. It was the customer service. In most places, you either get incredible food with average service, or great service with food that's just okay. Southern Grace somehow manages to deliver both at a very high level. From the moment you walk in, you're treated with genuine kindness and respect. The staff is welcoming, attentive, and you can tell they actually care about the experience they're giving their customers. I have to make a special mention to one of the team members LaDon for his exceptional professionalism. That kind of consistency between food quality and customer service is rare. It makes the entire experience feel personal rather than transactional. If you're looking for authentic Southern food paired with top-tier hospitality, Southern Grace is absolutely worth the visit. Places like this remind you what real customer service is supposed to feel like.

Would not have been a bad choice - and for sure they have good chicken. But the choice to eat at the Brau Haus was almost like dying and going to heaven. It's a smaller place than I expected. But honestly - get over it really quick. You can not get chicken like they make anywhere I have been - not in Indianapolis. What ever the price I paid to drive there 75 minutes away? It was worth it. We ordered the chicken dinner for 2. And it came with a small portion of slaw..or a salad. Me and the wife are slaw people. And it was small...but really yummy. But not too long after - the star attraction arrived. A large place of chicken, 10 pieces..(not little weenie pieces) and mashed potatoes and gravy and green beans along with a few rolls and butter. The chicken was truly so hot - I had to pace myself eating because you could really see the steam coming off of it. But the skin...and the coating? My grandmother has passed many years ago - but I would have had to tell her she has serious competition. This chicken was surely what they serve if you get lucky enough to end up in heaven. The sides - the green beans and mashed potatoes were crazy good too and plenty warm. Our very pleasant waitress was Dawn and she was there to help with anything we needed. This truly is the tenderest most moist chicken you are going to get. I wanted to enjoy their pie also - but there was just no room in my belly and we were too far from home to cart 3 or 4 big pieces. I plan on taking that trip down I74 on the regular. It's a beautiful drive and quite honestly - Oldenburg is a super great place to visit. And for me - no need to try anyone elses chicken. I know where the best is.
