Had a great 1st experience. I ordered for pick up and it was an easy transaction. I picked the food up from the bar and talked to a lady name Kim who was sweet and apologized for keeping me waiting while she worked with another table. I was quite satisfied with my order but also a little disappointed. I ordered the Jumbo Bone in Wings, Blackened Chicken Potato Skins and the Fiery Chicken Club. The reason I was disappointed was because on the menu it doesn't state that the Potato Skins comes with scallions and that the Chicken Club comes with onion and tomatoes but when I received my order it came with the scallions and onions. I don't eat them so I had to take the time to pick it off my food before I could eat. She was a professional and "told it like it is"; she told us what to order and not to order. She was right on the money and you better believe I tipped accordingly We sat inside. Looks like there is extensive outdoor seating for good weather. That could make for a fun evening. There's a full bar. We enjoyed cocktails, apps, and entrees. The pretzels with beer cheese dip were tasty; I could've eaten more of them. French onion soup was good. I highly recommend the fish and chips. We stopped in last night for a late dinner - 40 minutes before closing. We had a party of six - as we had been at the nearby nursing home/hospice. We hadn't been in a very long time. We found it to have gone down hill in food quality and it was always so overly salty that my even my husband, who will salt anything, found it too salty. But last night it was convenient - so we gave it a try. It wasn't busy, obviously - so service was great! The food was also pretty good! No complaints from anyone. My husband and I both ordered the fish & fries basket. It came with coleslaw also. We both liked the fish. It was perfectly fried. Not soggy or overcooked. The coleslaw was ok, nothing special. As were the fries - standard seasoned fries. The other orders at the table were the Blackened Caeser's Chicken Wrap, Mushroom Burger, Harvest Salad and Fish Tacos. Everything was hot and/or fresh. Sorry but this is a cost of doing business that the restaurant should incur just like electricity, gas, food supplies, liquor license permit costs. We booked Century Inn December 2021 for a Wedding event from 11 PM - 1 AM on September 24, 2022. We paid the amount in full and we were told we booked plenty early and the date was available. We double checked the date. When we reached out a couple of days ago to add some food to the menu, we were told that they accidentally double booked us with a Roger Stone Golf Fundraising event they have every year starting at 6 PM. After asking what our wedding event even was (they weren't sure if it was our reception or not), we were told that they could do both events, and that they could flip the tent quick enough to accommodate both groups as our event started at 11 PM and their event starts at 6PM. They just wanted to check with the fundraising group first. They said we could use their deck while we waited for the room flip. Today, they are telling us that they are cancelling our event because they will not kick the other group out early and their hands are tied. We now have less than four weeks to find a replacement venue after all invitations have been sent out and other vendors have been booked. When I asked why we weren't notified sooner, she responded "You're not listening to me, Amanda booked it. [Not me]" When I asked when Amanda left, she told me she didn't know. We were offered a refund and an "apology" stating that the employee who booked us wasn't working there anymore, so it's not their fault-- or evidentially, their problem. They were not willing to compromise, and had no further interest in helping us. I asked if we could share the tent or if we could use the deck that had been offered the day before. No. While I understand that the golf fundraiser is an important event for those families and individuals participating, this was an important event for us as well. We booked 8-9 months in advanced in person, paid the total amount owed in full, and followed up. The apology we got was insincere and when we tried to find a compromise that worked for everyone, they shut us down. I am posting this to caution any other group wanting to book an event with them. Fun little update*** Dee was the employee from Century Inn who we have been speaking to the past few days. She was the one who told us it was Amanda, an employee who no longer works with them who booked us and it was her fault. Depends on what you get. Fried chicken and sides are fantastic. Burger not so good. Stick with the fried Chicken and you won't be dead! I had mine with the Brussels sprouts (made with maple and bacon yummy! And mashed potatoes and gravy (fresh with chunks of potato so you know it's real!) it takes a while because the chicken is cooked to order, but so worth waiting for! Old and needs repair. In the pavilion, one of the fans is broken and quite dusty. A blind is broken and will flap around in the wind and hit you. Concerns were brought up, acknowledged, and nothing done. The food itself took way too long to come out, about 45 minutes for standard breakfast food. And when it did come out, it was mediocre at best. Cannot recommend this place, at least in the pavilion or for breakfast. read more

Rustic, aged like great wine and historic like Lincoln slept here, burgers rock like Van Halen and the Chicken isn't of the Colonel's rank but rather a bit more like a four star general's. Paul Lake is one of the city's best musicians and you get to hear him and his band out back on occasion and if that ain't enough 20 beers on tap including Guinness poured right. I was seriously craving potato skins, which I hadn't had in a long time. I found them at Century Inn and they deliver via Door Dash. Their menu is billed as American comfort food, with wings, tacos, burgers, meatloaf and pot roast. The restaurant is housed inside a historical inn and carriage stop. Besides the potato skins, I ordered the Mushroom Burger with cheddar cheese. The skins were pretty flavorful and standard, with tons of chives. The burger itself was not very flavorful, as if it hadn't been seasoned at all. After I added seasoned salt and garlic powder it was OK to eat. This was my first time visiting this restaurant but I had heard positive things about it. I was seated very quickly by the staff. My server came and took my drink order. He also gave me time to look over the menu and made suggestions regarding the appetizers. I ordered for an appetizer, the soft pretzels. I order the chicken meal with mashed potatoes and corn for dine in as well as a chicken sandwich to go. I went when it was not too crowded but people are starting to come in as I was sitting. It got crowded really fast as the dinner rush approached. My waiter still was very attentive despite the fact that the room was filling up. I got my appetizer, the pretzels, which was really quickly. They were really good and soft and it came with a cheese sauce. Shortly after that my chicken arrived. It was four pieces along with mashed potatoes with gravy and corn. One thing about me is that I like seasoning on chicken. This chicken was seasoned really well so I was glad. I enjoyed the meal overall as well as the atmosphere. Being that I was there by myself, I was seated in the area where I was able to people watch. There appeared to be a lot of large groups and families eating there at the time. Had breakfast at Century Inn and was totally disappointed. We had a large party, which we reserved a room for. The wait staff was overwhelmed and had a hard time with drinks and service. It took a long time to get our food, which was cold when we got it( in shifts that extended from half an hour to 90 minutes). The goetta was burnt and the biscuits were overcooked and hard as a rock. I love Glendale and like the idea of having a cozy place nearby that offers music. I think Century Inn could be my go to place since it's a block from home. However, I had two not-so-great recent experiences there. One was when they were out of the chilled chicken for the caesar wrap and served my wrap with only romaine, dressing, parmesan, and scraps of tips of hard, dry, overcooked chicken. I could get over that. I get it. Things happen. Recently, on 1/1/2023, I tipped in cash, which I do every time, and like always write "Cash" as the tip on my signed receipt. (The reason I write "Cash tip" on the tip line every time is because I have been burned by servers at restaurants over the years who alter a tip by putting a one in front of a seven or add a one in front of an eight...) On 1/1/2023, even though I wrote "cash" as the tip, the Century Inn server made a poor decision by helping herself to my credit card total. I noticed a few days later online. She was tipped in cash by me and she also added a tip to my credit card. I called the restaurant and spoke with Shannon who pulled my receipt, saw that it says "Cash" tip and said she would have Dee correct it. Shannon took my credit card number, expiration date, and 3 digit code over the phone. However, it never got credited. Shannon was busy, had to pull the records, she asked to call me back a few times, was cleaning, etc. Finally, she claimed again, "Dee will call you." I never heard from Dee. So, I went in person at 10:45am today. Shannon tried to blow me off saying we don't open until 11am. Nope, I said, I've had it. The server stole from me. I wanted it resolved. My time is valuable too and I'm busy as well, I said. In order to get it resolved after 5-6 follow up calls, I had to go in person. It bothered me to see this lack of care or concern. I still have not received a call or apology from Dee on behalf of Century Inn. read more

Sat outside at the bar on a beautiful Sunday evening. A friend and I were treated to live music, friendly waitresses and a talkative crowd. The bar has plenty of options for tap beers (15+) dark, fruity, light, etc. We both ordered the Sunday special- chicken dinner, enough food for 2 meals and yummy! Real mashed potatoes/ gravy/ corn/ cole slaw/ a roll and 4 pieces of fresh fried chicken. My bill for a beer and chicken dinner came to less than $15.00. The only drawback about sitting at the bar was that most of the people smoked. A better choice would have been to sit at one of the side tables with umbrellas to avoid the smoke. At the back of the outside bar area are multiple corn hole games to play while listening to music and enjoying a beer. This place is a definite - "I shall return!" location. Sadly - A COVID Outbreak Waiting To Happen! Not ONE waiter or staff were wearing masks or taking any precautions for the safety of their customers!!! Absolutely no social distancing being observed! Every seat at their bar was full - people on top of each other with no care about the danger this creates. No distancing between tables. The only excuse provided is that it was their outside area and it's hot. This DOES NOT mean that you don't social distance and keep your parties 6 feet apart. And...their bar is in an enclosure - an open window DOES NOT equate to being outside. As for the food - it does not deserve a review until they comply with basic safety standards. STAY AWAY! read more
