Where to start?.... Came here for dinner expecting a lovely sit-down restaurant and was sorely disappointed. Imagine getting all dolled up to dine at the newest soul food restaurant in town then realizing you stepped into a souped-up chicken/fish spot. I gave it 3 stars simply for the food as the experience was a solid one. Upon arrival, there was no greeting and so we just found a table. A small group of folks were sitting at the tables near the front door waiting for their takeout. Honestly, that's what this place should be. A takeout joint with tables for those who want to eat their food there. Can you imagine ordering food to dine in and being presented with a set of takeout, cheaply-made plastic cutlery? Yep, that's what we were offered. I had to ask an employee walking by if they had "real" cutlery and he went to the back to grab us a set. The owner was working but unlike a fine dining establishment, did not come over to greet us, the only dine-in customers. That would have went a long way had she done that. The sad part is the food was actually pretty good (tasty yams, mac/cheese, fried whiting, and peach cobbler). However, the cabbage was under-seasoned. Take my advice and order your food to go until the training, customer service, and adequate staffing is present. You won't be disappointed if you do that. read more

OMG, the food was on point. I didn't take pictures of my order but the three piece whiting dinner with cabbage, macaroni w/cheese and strawberry lemonade was utterly delicious. Everything was seasoned to perfection but not salty or greasy! The fish was a little skimpy in "meatiness," like they fillet the fillet but that's a common issue across the board and they give you several pieces to help compensate. Only legitimate complaint I have is the somewhat overcooked macaroni, that made the dish somewhat mushy. I prefer mine cooked a tad under al dente but it didn't take away from the incredible flavor. The cabbage was perfectly cooked with a bit of chewiness and seasoned impeccably. Even the strawberry lemonade was perfectly sweetened and didn't hurt my teeth when I drank it! They even give you the right amount of ice to keep it cold but not water it down! All in all, I will go back again and try different dishes. read more

The place is so cute! It's vibrant and the service was 11/10. We got there as soon as they opened and the 2 guys were really friendly. I would love to come bcK when it's more people. Seems like the perfect place to have dinner with friends. *Wings were so good! The gold bbq sauce is my favorite. I wish they sold it in bottles. Fries were season and fried to perfection. *Yam or Sweet Potatoes were delicious. I know the cook was as a young blk man but the way these tastes made me think somebody's grandma was back there throwing down. So damn good! *Fish was really good. Seasoned perfectly and fried hard. I LOVE this spot. I wanted a homestyle fried meal but didn't feel like cooking. I found this spot on google and decided to give it a try. I called ahead to confirm their hours and was greeted by Angel, who was super friendly. Not knowing what to expect, I wanted to check out the environment (as I do with all of my first-time experiences) before I placed my order. When I arrived, the place was spotless, and I was immediately greeted by Basil, who took my order. Service was friendly and prompt. I ordered the whiting with fried potatoes and cabbage. OMGoodnesss, YUM. Everything was piping hot and flavorful I highly recommend the fried fish. It was fresh and cooked to order. This is Pleasant Ridge's newest spot. I'm very happy to see that someone could bring life to this PR gem (the building). They have a limited menu but I'm sure that's only because they're warming up as they get comfortable. We had the turkey melt and shrimp tacos. I can say we were both pleasantly satisfied with our selections. The seasoning for both was on point and definitely hit the spot. Now what totally sold me was that banana pudding! I was supposed to share with my husband but I just couldn't loosen the grip or give in and miss any bites. I'm excited to go back and try the other things on the menu. read more

The service was great but the wait for food was long. However worth the wait. Pleasant ridge needed black owned spot on this area so kudos to them. With so much food right there, and community support they will thrive like everybody else on that corner. Like I stated before I did have a wait but the wings were very good. Cheat day food at its finest! Catch Me If You Can is a family- run restaurant that offers indulgent meals and friendly service. Their new location in Pleasant Ridge is bright and colorful. I started off with the Catch, which is their signature lemonade. I loved the layers of flavor and the colors- it was fun without being too sweet. I continued with the Buffalo ranch chicken fries. My goodness- this portion could have fed three! Everything was fresh with tons of chicken throughout and the Buffalo sauce had a nice kick. My daughter had the creole shrimp tacos. The shrimp were tender and the slight crunch on the flour tortillas added nice texture. I'll definitely be back to try the wings. read more

This has been on my list to visit and I am glad I finally made it. From the music to the food, to the drinks! It was a good time! Service was great and the staff are welcoming and friendly. I had the shrimp tacos and potatoes and onions! OMG! Whatever that red sauce is with the fresh taco shell - they know something in the kitchen! Everyone in my party was highly satisfied and we can't wait to come back! It's the fact the prices aren't outrageous too! Affordability definitely makes this a 5 Star with taste and service! I decided to order from here via DoorDash Placed my order at 7:30 thus place is literally right down the street from me ..my driver got there at 8:30 and had to wait for the food until 9:00, so my food wasn't ready in that whole hour on top of that my driver had to wait for another 30 minutes ? Timing was ridiculous I got the Buffalo wings and fries platter which was very chewy and gummy the Buffalo sauce was nice it was the chewiness of the wings that made them not so good Fries and wings were covered in pepper I had the macaroni as a side , it reminded me of stouffers but didn't taste like it , it was just ok The potatoes and onions were very good I will probably give this place another shot but try other things on the menu Stay tuned ! read more

On March 16th Me and my sister went to CATCH ME IF YOU CAN. The food was phenomenal we had the parmesan garlic wings, Chili cheese fries, onion and potatoes and the cabbage. We were not disappointed! The atmosphere was cozy and colorful with an at home vibe that was welcoming. Talking about there's a larger order that came in but when new customers coming in they taking their order , like how are we waiting on our food but taking more orders . There was more people leaving with their meal after we ordered ours about an hour ago. We ordered at 2:00 didn't get our meal until 3:40. I was out in visiting my brother in PR when it got late and I needed some grub. This was one of the only spots open at the time, it is black owned and I looked forward to giving it a try. I went in & ordered my food; 6 wings, potatoes & onions, plus a lemonade. I had already read the reviews and expected about a good 25 min wait which I was fine with. When I was done ordering I asked, "so about 15/20 mins?" She said 20/25 and I told her I've got my dog in the car, I'm going to wait outside. I came in after waiting 25 mins and sat at the bar waiting for my food. I was very patient, I didn't even bother to ask for my food at first instead I made sure they caught my eye contact a few times 15 mins later& at this point I know they know I been waiting a grip so I finally asked the lady if she could check on my order. She came back 5 mins later and all she said was "it's not ready". Obviously it's not ready, that's why I asked you to give me some kind of update since you originally said about 25 mins and now it's going on 45. Let me remind you it's 9:30 at night on a Tuesday, they were in no shape or form busy! They finally call my order up and I was just happy to be getting out of there! I checked my food and I could not believe the sorry excuse for a potato's and onions order they gave me! It was the most shallow smallest little styrofoam bowl they could find and it fit about 5 little potato pieces in there. They must of switched the containers from what they used to use bc the pics of the potato's I seen before ordering looked like a better portion. On top of everything, I get home and my potatoes have burned through my bowl and I got grease all over everything plus I got melted styrofoam in my potatoes. All and all the food was good and that's the only reason I'm giving 3 star's. I know they only opened about 2 months ago, maybe they're still figuring it out.
