I've been to Ronnie's several times and everything has been fantastic from the service to the food and the prices. They serve breakfast and lunch and have limited hours, so check before going. The coffee is good and they have flavored creamers, which I enjoy; their biscuits are big and fluffy and delicious. I love the SoCal omelet but their pancakes are good...everything is good. They offer biscuits and gravy, chicken fried chicken, breakfast burritos and omelets, benedicts, waffles, french toast, pancakes, sandwiches, salads and much more. What a cinnamon roll! The dough was derivative and melt-away soft, but that wonderful icing makes it all worth while! It's actually very good, being perfectly balanced, with just a smidge of high-note, cream-cheese flavor thusly harmonizing with the gods of the roll of cinnamon. Well done - albeit, a little small. The pancake tasted like a plain muffin, with little to no flavor. It seems they don't use enough sugar in the batter, or brown it enough through the milliard reaction. I honestly couldn't agree to purchase that, so I upgraded to the Waffle. What a move that was! The waffle is of a malted, heavenly sweet goodness - light, airy, and thoroughly interesting of some flavor depth. Definitely worth a return trip for a waffle and cinnamon roll, or a waffle with that icing on top! The ham was well pan seared, not too salty. The over-medium eggs were a tad bit overdone, so maybe shoot lower. Patti, our waitress, was what made the whole breakfast an enjoyable event. If I found a Patti at every establishment I frequented, I would never cook. Truly, she is great at what she does. Thanks for making it lovely, my dear. Ronnies hasn't become our new go-to, but definitely worth a return visit on a cloudy day. Lots of very mediocre food. If you're hungry, and not particularly discerning about what you poke in your mouth, then you've found the right place. Ronnie's "will get you fed". Four of us arrived at the cusp of breakfast and lunch, so two ordered one and two the other, but all different meals. The consensus was the same - "truck stop food, and plenty of it". It was a first and last time visit. About the restaurant theme - they go way above and beyond to appeal to little old, blue-haired ladies. It is in a strip mall and very assuming from the outside with the exception of the long line. Always a good sign. The menu has all the standards but definitely some special dishes. I had a cheesy omelette and added chorizo. They get their meet from a local spot. The chorizo was delicious. It came with a biscuit and potatoes. The biscuit was huge but fluffy and delicious. The potatoes were good with a little sausage gravy. Their cinnamon buns are homemade. I was convinced by my wonderful waitress to give one a try. DELICIOUS! The service was great. Today was our first visit to Ronnie's and it felt like coming home. We were promptly greeted at the hostess stand and sat within moments of entering. The decor is baseball themed, including a panoramic shot from the World Series celebration. Each table was prepared ahead of time for guests with a water pitcher, branded coffee cups and small glasses for water. On to the food- a full two pages of breakfast or lunch options is available all day. I enjoy sandwiches and not breakfast in the morning so this worked for my son and me. He was fully satisfied by the "Stuffed French Toast" (think breakfast sandwich made with French toast). He forced himself to try finish his meal but he just couldn't do it. I was wise enough to only eat half of "The Real TBA". The sourdough was toasted to a buttery crisp bite with ripened avocado and the BEST homemade ranch I've ever eaten. I requested extra for the fries. I chose coleslaw as the second side and after a quick stir to get the sauce from the bottom of the bowl it enhanced the meal with its cool bite and unassuming flavor. Found this place on Yelp and decided to take the family here on a Saturday morning. We were sat right away, the server was very sweet and tried her best with how busy she was. We ordered the crab cakes benedict which was mahhhhh, okay, the cinnamon roll , the kids pancake which was light and fluffy, and one of the scramblers which was also good. I made the mistake of discovering the place after the first day or I would have been there all 4. The item choices are wide-ranging, substitutions are easy, and the staff is flexible. Don't want fruit with your Eggs Benedict and want an English muffin instead? Go for it. Want some extra hollandaise sauce as well? Sure. Want a pancake on the side? Coming right up. The food is fresh as well, every dish is consistent regardless of being a busy weekend or a slow Tuesday morning. The cinnamon roles are an excellence snack as well while one waits for the main course. It is easy to eat here and come out under $20 for 2. The same $20 meal would be a $35 meal at First Watch. Then add in the person walking around with the vacuum (the true measure of a fine eating establishment) to make the noise level even more lovely. I keep forgetting to stay home on sundays to avoid the after church crowd. They should also consider paying their help more because they can't afford pants without holes! Well, I was right, mediocre on the best day (which was not today). Everything tastes like it came frozen out of a box then seasoned with MSG. Ordered the chicken fried chicken with eggs over easy. Chicken was over cooked, breading is salty as hell, biscuit was ok, gravy was not good, potatoes not seasoned, one egg broken. Coffee urns move from table to table without being cleaned (which maybe explains why the coffee is not very good) which should be a health code violation.
