Came through for a 3am Waffle House run and babyyyy they did not disappoint. Food was hittin . waffles crispy outside fluffy inside, hashbrowns with ham was that girl, and the coffee was HOT (not warm... hot). Our server was sweet, fast, and funny. Whole vibe was peaceful, clean, and honestly? One of the best Waffle House runs I've had in a long time. Sometimes it's not just about the food it's the energy. I'll have to admit, it is a really great place to stop for a decent (yet inexpensive) meal after working all day, and the location and hours are real convenient... but thats about the only good qualities this particular Waffle House has. The few times I've come here with my boyfriend, the staff have been super rude and impatient when taking our orders. The last time we're here, we kindly asked our server if she could put no ice in our sodas, and she rolled her eyes and sighed as if we asked her to jump backwards through a flaming hoop. She handed us our drinks with ice in them. Now, you might be thinking "oh it must've been busy, maybe she forgot!" Nope. It was a ghost town in there with just the 2-3 employees, my boyfriend and I, and one other couple. We each got the All-Star Breakfast with a drink, which the meal was delicious. When we asked for the bill to be split between the two of us since we wanted to pay for our meals separately, the server, once again, seemed mildly inconvenienced by our request. She took maybe 15-20 minutes to split the bill, while she loudly gossiped with another employee behind the counter. At this point, we should've been home free right? We should be able to just pay our tickets at the register and leave. Nope. Wanting to leave ASAP, my boyfriend handed me his ticket and his card to pay for HIS ticket while he went out for a smoke, which I explicitly explained to the lady behind the register. She ended up asking for both tickets, so I handed her mine with my card on top of it, and my boyfriend's with his card on top of his. Despite me, once again asking that she charge my card for my ticket, she ended up combining our tickets and charging both tickets on my boyfriend's card! When she handed me the receipt (which had both tickets) she told me "Oh, just Venmo him $xx.xx for your ticket." I was extremely confused, not understanding what the hell she meant when I very clearly requested that she use my card for my ticket. She looked at me and asked, "can't y'all just Venmo or CashApp each other?" Now we aren't old at all, we're both in our early twenties, and this girl seemed to be a year or so older than us... but I was completely dumbfounded that she'd ask us to do this instead of her doing her job. We just wanted her to refund his card, so he could pay for his meal and I could pay for mine. When we finally got everything sorted out, the entire process had taken maybe thirty minutes! Thirty minutes from the moment she handed us our bill, to when we kindly requested that she split it, up until she finally issued a refund and we were able to pay our own tickets on our respective cards. read more

Yeah, they were designed for what you do after a long night at a strip club, and it's becoming more common to be in an altercation with a firearm while eating a waffle here than anywhere else with waffles; but damn it, if they're doing it right, and the place is clean, then I will have my waffles! All seriousness aside, they make a fine breakfast if you're in a hurry, and require a stool at a bar like you're a traveling salesman looking for a warm meal between selling encyclopedias and missing your children grow up - and the year is 1957. Try Waffle House - but only if they're not busy, and the store looks brand new. I don't know that I'd visit this one though. It's on 75th street. I wasn't expecting 5 star food but I was expecting cleanliness and friendliness. They even have signs posted around saying how nice their staff is. They're wrong. The floors were filthy (I realize it's open 24/7, but come on- can't you at least sweep between customers?,) and the waffle irons were caked in old batter- so gross. Our server was slow to take our order & she brought out our food at different times- that's always so awkward when you're with other people. She did refill my drink without my asking, but with the wrong drink. We all thought our food was decent, but nothing amazing. For 4 people our bill, including tip, was $36. Way overpriced for the quality, or lack of. I can cross off 'going to waffle house' on my list, and it was my first and last time. I can see why it gets called 'awful house.' read more

The key with Waffle House ...any Waffle House, I've been to three in three states, is knowing what to expect. Just expect the food to hit the plate. I am really picky about service and it never occurred to me to consider service at WH. Place your order, wait for your food, get their attention if you want a refill, pay at the register up front. I get the hashed browns "we'll done" with grilled onions and country gravy or later in the day the Patty Melt. I don't go there often. The food is maybe a 7.5 on a scale of 10. It's fine. I'd rather go to WH than Bob Evans or a similar place with higher prices and food that's 7.75. read more

This place is terrible! I went here after working a concert at Crossroads. It was around 2-3am. I sat at the counter and was completely ignored for 30-45 minutes. I didn't say anything, I was the customer, so I just sat and waited for the employees to serve me. They didn't ask if I wanted to order, didn't even offer to get me a drink, no water, nothing. A couple came in AFTER me and were served immediately. That's when I asked if I was going to get service. The guy behind the counter asked me what I wanted in a very rude manner. I stood up and started to leave, as I was leaving I said, "Never mind. I don't even want anything. I've sat in here for 45 minutes and you guys haven't said a word to me." I pointed to the couple that came in AFTER me and was severed BEFORE me and voiced my displeasure. The woman behind the counter started screaming at me, "Get out! I'll call the police!" CALL THE POLICE?!?!?!?!? I couldn't believe what was happening. I was already leaving the store, and yes, when I was voicing my displeasure I wasn't talking in a quiet tone, but again, I was the CUSTOMER. I sat in there for 45 minutes at the counter, right in front of the employees and they didn't say one word to me, until I spoke up. It was one of the worst, if not the, worst experiences I've ever had at a restaurant. Needless to say, I will never go back to this place. Didn't bring my beverages. Cook delivered my food and I had to ask him for them. She never checked on me. As I started looking around feeing ignored I noticed fellow patrons were being ignored as well asking several times for apple butter and Tabasco and reaching over the counters and passing things to each other. I know I know it's Waffle House the perception of Waffle House isn't always great. When you think about Waffle House so I've been told is that it's always dirty and, greasy floors and flies in the restaurant. I'm not really someone to judge a place until I try it. I've been to this location multiple times with my children and friends and every time I've been I've always had a pleasant experience. I usually go later in the evening or early in the morning and the times I've went the staff has always been really laid back and nice. I usually sit at the bar or the high seats to over see everything and hey Ive always had a good experience. Food comes out pretty prompt they always did a good job refilling my coffee and kids drinks. Food always comes out hot and good tasting I haven't had a bad experience that I could speak on. Yes, I know I was going to a Waffle House, so for them to get 1 star from me means it was a miserable experience. The server took forever to get to us. When she finally did, she would only take our drink order, although we were ready to submit our entire order by the time she finally showed up. Again, it took way too long for her to come back with a coffee and a water, but when she came back we were able to place our food order. Luckily, we were sitting where we could see what was going on. There were 2 people sitting at the counter and 3 tables in the restaurant (we were one of the tables). 2 of the 3 tables already had their food. One guy who arrived five minutes after us was already eating at the counter. The servers call the food out to the cook. With that said, the only people wating for food was our table and one guy at the counter, but for some reason the cook wouldn't let the server call our order out to her. Overhearing their conversation, I made note of the time. 10 minutes had passed from the time the server took our order until I was finally pissed off enough to just get up and leave. I feel like I lost 30 minutes of my life witnessing 4 monkeys try to fuck a football. A whopping 3 people were sitting without food, the cook hadn't even started the orders, and these idiots were in the weeds. This Waffle House is a total joke. I don't care how drunk you are or how cheap you are looking to eat. The staff at this location totally sucks! read more

3.5 stars Long story short: run of the mill diner type of place, decent prices, interesting people. Long story long: I went to Kansas City last month to visit some a couple friends and take a mini vacay. A couple of my friends were already there, and one of them came to pick me up because we were staying together at a hotel. Considering it was like 11 PM when I got in, I was pretty hungry. I guess to keep with tradition of going straight to somewhere to eat from the airport whenever I travel somewhere, we opted for this place, especially because it was on the way to our hotel down the street. The place looks like a run of the mill diner. Walking in, the place looks like its stuck in the 50s and actually a little dirty. Yet, we stayed. I guess considering we were the only people in the place, it would've been a little awkward to walk in, then just walk right out. We sat down and our "lovely" waitress came by to hand us menus. We just got water and looked over the menu. I got the All Star Breakfast special, which comes with 2 eggs, grits or hash browns, toast, choice of bacon, country ham, or sausage, and either a waffle or pancake. I got my eggs scrambled, hash browns, country ham, and a waffle. My friend was still full from dinner so he ordered a chicken biscuit. When everything arrived, I briefly thought it might be too much food. But then again, that never stopped me. Everything had been made fresh. Granted its probably not the most immaculate of kitchens, but at least everything was hot. Our waitress was nice and her service, while not the tip top of customer service that you'd find at a place like Craft or Providence, but she didn't leave me any reason to lower her overall tip. I realize it's Waffle House. It's not going to be a 5 star dining experience. However when we dined there a few weeks ago we had probably the weirdest waitress I've ever had. I legitimately think she had mental problems. We came in around 11 pm with a few people and told her we'd probably have more joining us, and she seriously looked annoyed. I asked her, "is that going to be a problem?" And she shrugged and said it was ok. OK so I went to order things individually and then as she was leaving realized it would make more sense to get an all star bfast. I had said instead of grits I wanted hashed browns. What did I get with my meal? Grits. When I politely mentioned that I had asked for hash browns she got this super angry look on her face and explained snarkily that I had not. After a few back and forths of this, I was baffled by this, and I tried not to go off. I explained that I wasn't going to eat the grits and that I wanted hash browns. She took the grits and told the cook, and then said she wanted to go home and started crying. I highly suggest that this waitress get mental help or learn how to deal with difficult situations without crying. We attempted to eat at this Waffle House on July 17, 2016. I had never been to Waffle House and I was looking forward to it. Unfortunately it was a very bad experience. When we walked in, all of the tables and booths were taken but there were two spots open at the counter. We sat down and waited to be acknowledged by the server, any server. We waited and it was as if we weren't there. We asked the couple next to us who were there when we got there if anyone had acknowledged their presence and they said no. We waited a little longer and just left. Shortly after we left, the couple next to us left as did several others. We are not demanding people and had no problem waiting since they were busy. However I did expect someone to acknowledge that we were there and tell us they would get to us when they could. I'll never go back.
