We came here for the first time ever. Honestly the service was quick it did not wow us . But the food was amazing. Fresh ingredients. Absolutely delicious. I think the girl Bella was annoyed she had to go over the menu with us . She changed her mood by the time she served us when she brought the food over to us and we did tip her which I know she was not expecting and was very appreciative. I don't care for when places have the tip upfront when you haven't had the service yet. Anyhow, there is a large selection of drinks variety and just great environment. Comparable to Panera but I like this spot so much more. I must have been in a mood last time I reviewed this place. I love the food here, staff always friendly. Possibly the best pancakes around.

I'd love their breakfast, their yogurt, parfaits, especially their limited time, one with the bananas, oats, and honey, and Greek yogurt! That's my favorite! I wish they had it more often as opposed to the one with the strawberries and blueberries. I love their eggs! I love their pancakes. They have a wonderful shrimp pasta, and the most delicious chicken noodle soup plus, they have great desserts. This is a five star restaurant! Wonderful food and so delicious! read more

this was my first time here! i just moved nearby and was excited to explore the nearby spots, but was a little disappointed going in. it's giving glorified panera. the only differences between corner bakery cafe and panera is that they serve the food to you and take the plates afterwards. the general manager, Bill B., was in at the cash register, he sounded really agressive and rude tbh. we are all human so i get having bad days but geez he was really off putting and it made the experience kinda mid. the food was good! probably a 3/5 but it was definitely something you could just make at home. read more

Since this was my first visit to the Corner Bakery Cafe, I can only review it from a carryout perspective, so I'm withholding the 5th star for my next review, hoping it's as good the second time around. I will definitely be back! But this experience was good enough for me to call them after I started eating my Grilled Chicken Pesto Sandwich, and say "Perfect sandwich, great customer service, and your Side Dishes are 100 times better than Panera's!" My side was an actual classic Caesar Salad, NOT a package of awful potato chips, a rotting apple, or a really hard hunk of bread! Also, my sandwich was big and full of real (not pressed) chicken, and I got all that for about $10! One last thing...the ladies restroom was really clean and well-maintained. Walk in, stand in line for a bit, get your order taken, and then sit down and someone will bring your food out to you. We frequent this location for weekend brunch, and they have great options and swaps for eating keto. Of late, we order online directly through their web site, and then pick it up. That was the case today, when everyone was craving the various eggs and avocado dishes that are so popular with our family. The estimate for pickup was 15 minutes, but we know that to be typically quicker. In other words, order the meal and then get your booty over there and it will likely be ready! The food is excellent! Although I do wish the portions were slightly bigger, the quality of the food is top notch! My experience is that the online order is always correct. That is an important box to check off, given just how badly a meal can be ruined by a staff with less attention to detail. Corner Bakery has never disappointed us! The process of picking up the food is quick and efficient. There are a couple pickup parking spots, and a pickup counter inside. Don't be fooled by the "call when you arrive" number on the pickup sign, as you will have to run inside to get your order. In the summer there is seating outside. Technically there is always seating outside, but you have to navigate the on-again off-again Kansas weather. The coffee is descent with a few different options. The lack of heavy cream is the only drawback, so when we do eat in, I bring my own. Basically, you want to eat here (in or takeout) with your whole family. I can no longer recommend this franchise. Food is not prepared properly at least 90% of the time and their management team is rude. On 22-Mar-2022, I dined in and ordered the choose two: a Chicken Pomodori panini and the mac and cheese. I also ordered a cinnamon crumb muffin. The panini was made incorrectly (see menu description screen print). No tomato, no spinach, one piece of basil, and next to no chicken on the sandwich. The mac and cheese had red pepper flakes poured all over the top of it which has never been the case in the past, and the menu does not indicate the breadcrumbs have red pepper flakes mixed in them or that that menu item is spicy (see menu description screen print). Uneatable. The cinnamon crumb muffin was dried out. When I complained, a manager came to my table and argued with me saying the mac and cheese had always been made that way. Um, no. My gall bladder is sensitive to spicy food and has been for years. Again, the menu does not indicate the item is spicy and at no time in the past was it prepared this way. She argued with me despite advising her I had been eating there for well over 5 years and the item had never been prepared this way in the past. When I told her I didn't plan on coming back in the future, she walked away from my table and gave me a thumbs-up, implying she liked that I'm not coming back. Seriously. . . I talked to their district manager on duty, John Westermajer, and there was no apology for his manager's behavior. I only knew to ask for him because I had complained to him two years back when we had repeated problems at this location, including unresolved billing disputes. I feel in love with the chocolate muffin and pop in when ever I am on that side of town to see if there are any instock. Today I was in luck and scored a chocolate as well as Banana muffin. Typically I have no issues here, but my last visit yikes! During the week I get my breakfast to go & they move pretty fast. This time I went on Saturday morning & had time to dine in. Ordered 2 breakfast paninis, potatoes & 2 coffees. The staff seemed confused with three of them just standing around. After placing our order, we took a seat to wait for them to bring our food. Several times we watched staff bring the wrong food. After 10 minutes no food or coffee, so I had to go back to the counter to get the status of my order & get my coffee. Another few minutes past & they finally bring the food. The awkward thing was a couple seated behind who were there prior to us had to stop the waitress & ask where their food was. Sadly she seemed not to understand English and just looked at the man as he asked about his order. Upon us leaving their food still hadn't came. Wow the food was fantastic my favorite dish was up town turkey avocado. It was absolutely the best sandwich I've ever had in my life. As a kid I really enjoyed the food it's kid friendly and has cookies FYI. Nice parking and outdoor seating with a fire outside and fan. The bathrooms are nice And they have a crayons and coloring pages for kids. My dad recommends the family meal deal. :-) they have high chairs for babies and I know that because I have a little brother the music is appropriate. The place isn't really fancy but the food is definitely amazing. Although since of Covid they do recommend masks. Food is great and we have enjoyed everything on the menu that we have tried. Only complaint- the staff are beyond inconsistent! When it's great it's great but when it's bad, it's bad. I brought my mom from Topeka in because we raved about how great the food is but we had to deal with an impatient cashier and what's worse....beyond loud staff talking about tips and other personal affairs. Wasn't terrible, definitely wasn't great though. The eggs are powdered scrambled eggs. The pancakes are weird and savory and have an off taste that we couldn't put name to but it was disturbing. Coffee tastes like water that dressed up as coffee for Halloween, but unfortunately it's November now. Staff was friendly helped me decide which gross coffee I wanted. I tried two and to my surprise I didn't like either. Also it was 35$ for fast food pretending to be good diner food. I recently dined in, and tried the half sandwich and soup combo. I got the Uptown Turkey Avocado, and the Big Al's Chili. The sandwich and chili were both really good, and I'd like to come back and try some of the other menu items. My only issue at all during the visit was with the staff. We visited on a Thursday night, and the place was not busy. Maybe two other tables occupied other than ours at 7p. They were way overstaffed for the five people I saw working the counter/dining area. We picked a table near the drink station, which seemed to be a focal point for the employees to hang out and talk. If they weren't hanging out there, the staff would wander the restaurant or be on their phones. Great location, beautiful restaurant, and good food. Maybe if it was busier, the staff wouldn't have been so bored, but standing around in a group talking near my table isn't pleasant. read more

This was our first time here. We were very impressed with how clean this restaurant was. The employees were all so very friendly and helpful. When the food came out, it was such a beautiful presentation and very yummy. The food tasted fresh and had unique flavors. Loved the tomato basil bisque. We got the choose two...so much food and a great value. There are lots of flavors of coffee and ice teas. Thankful for decaf options! Green tea with apricot is on my list for next time! They have a nice patio for dining outside that is sheltered from wind or rain. We will be back! read more

I was hoping for something different and special when I went to The Corner Bakery for the first time. Unfortunately, it was just basically like a less good Panera. The food was good, not great, although I hated that they salted the tomato slices on my sandwich without asking me. The DC chicken salad was yummy, but I found a few pieces of gristle in it. The service was the biggest problem, plus the place really needs a good cleaning and there was a weird smell in the air that turned me off. My cashier was clearly having a bad day, and sighed dramatically with every question I had. So rude and annoying. My daughter ordered her sandwich with cheese & without mustard, and it came without cheese & with mustard. We had to return to the counter and wait several minutes to alert them about their mistake. By then, she'd decided the mustard addition was ok, but she really wanted the cheese- plus, it had been paid extra for. And what did the cashier give us? SHREDDED, not sliced, cheese. Very odd. And not very sandwich-friendly. The ladies' restroom was bad too- they were out of soap (super gross) and the towel dispenser didn't work properly. You could argue that all of these problems were because it was 12:45 on a Friday and the place was packed to the gills, but I think that's when a place like this should really shine- I'm betting they do most of their business around this time. So get some competent, polite cashiers in there, fill up the bathroom soap dispenser and prove to me that you're not just a second rate Panera! read more

I was all excited to eat some oatmeal only to find out after getting to the front of the line, that they do not serve oatmeal, but serve breakfast all day. I think that they should add a note in their menu, since it's misleading having it on their breakfast menu that is supposed to be served all day. Being the indecisive person that I am, I couldn't make up my mind, so decided to go back to the end of the line. Big mistake! About 15-20 people had got in line without me noticing, so I had to wait about 5-10 min. Ordered the their small breakfast sandwich with apple sausage and scrambled eggs. It was pretty good, but way too small and for $4, I expect a bigger serving. They messed up my order, so they gave me free dessert, which was awesome since they didn't have to! I came with a party of 4, so we all just shared our food, especially the desserts. Ok, so the reason I'm giving this place 4 stars, is primarily based on their BOMB APPLE PIE! Omg how scrumptious it was! Forgot to tell them to heat it up for me (I like my pastries warm) but it was good just the way it was. The dough was soft and fluffy, with a golden crisp, topped with big sugar crystals....oh and usually I don't like eating the apples in apple pie, but Corner Bakery made me eat them like they were candy :) The chocolate muffin was pretty good, especially since I asked them to serve it warm. I would've gone for the brownies, but I got the pecan pie for free. Pecan pie was too rich for my taste, nuff said. I really like the atmosphere from this place. It's like a fancier panera. haha maybe I've gotten a little tired of panera, that this place just feels fresh and new. My partner and crime, Kent So, got me to eat here.
