We ordered the chorizo burrito, the sausage and egg burrito, carnitas, camaron (shrimp) tacos, pescado (fried white fish) tacos, and because a balanced meal is important, a side of vegetable "tater tots." Every dish was well-seasoned, the ingredients were fresh, and the service was great. Portions are huge you'll definitely have leftovers for lunch or dinner. I lived around the corner to Roni's for years and it was a favorite haunt of ours! The breakfast burritos were heavenly for brunch time, their burgers super delicious, and everyone always got a generous plate helping. The environment is kitschy diner-y. I would say they have my favorite breakfast burrito in all of Beverly Hills. The name is a bit misleading though I would not call it a diner more so a Mexican restaurant that also has a few classic American breakfast combo dishes. It's more designed to go, but there are tables inside, which is what I chose to do for breakfast this morning. Service was really quick and I didn't have to wait very long for my food. They don't have a parking lot but metered street parking is easy to find in this part of town. They have a very large menu with a lot of the classic Mexican dishes, but they are most well-known for their breakfast burritos. Being my first time I wanted to try that so I ordered the La Neta and Chori Burritos. Both were really great but La Neta was my favorite because crema and avocado are the secret combo to make any breakfast burrito a great one. Nice diner, I wanted a quick dessert so I opt in for their fresh fruit drink that included, beets, turmeric, apple, carrots, and ginger. Definitely fresh as you can taste the raw fruits. Nice treat. I've been here three times now - twice I got the tinga chicken burrito and once I got the plant-based "Mamacita" breakfast burrito with my wife (who is vegan). Service is friendly and fast and the burritos are tasty and filling, although the Mamacita is a little overpriced. (Some might argue that everything here is overpriced. I went to Roni's for the first time. There is both indoor and outdoor seating, but both are limited, so you might want to call ahead of time to get the 411 on the crowds. It's a nice place, a neighborhood type diner with a menu that has "something for everyone" including a nice breakfast menu as well as sandwiches and hamburgers as well as salads. I had a sandwich, it was: The St Louis = Grilled turkey breast, pastrami, swiss cheese, avocado, and 1000 island dressing = $8.95 The sandwich I had I said "hold the cheese and avacado" and they were nice enough to ask if I wanted anything else in the sandwich as a substitution. The turkey and pastrami was fresh and thick cut. This is a hot sandwich. The sandwich was large enough, I'd almost say over 16" long, since I only ate half and took the other half "to go" for later, which it reheated perfectly. (I always say... you can eat it all now, and get stuffed and probably had a negative experience due to over indulging, or you can save some for later, and appreciate what you have in front of you, enjoy it, then really appreciate the leftovers later when you crave 'em and create two positive dining experiences). I'd recommend that sandwich and order it again. The service was good, they were proactive on taking the orders as well as soda/beverage refills (complimentary). The parking in the area is okay, and good if you've got good karma, skills and also don't mind walking. Parking in front, it's metered. Parking in the residential neighborhood on the side streets, it's free, and not too challenging (despite being the heart of Beverly Hills), you just need to "read the signs" to ensure it's legal and know what the limitations are. AUGUST 2012 UPDATE: I did try their Chinese Chicken Salad, it's not that great, so I'd not recommend it. I thought I'd go the "light and healthy route" but got detoured from the true destination of my heart... ...I do LOVE (and regret not re-ordering a steadfast reliable entree, their ST LOUIS SANDWICH which I've had another time after my initial venture. If you see my previous photo, it looks like two halves of a sandwich, but it's actually one slice of a whole. The updated version has made it so much smaller. Also, the menu said there is mayo on the sandwich, and every club I've ever had has mayo on it, but this club had no mayo. I don't know why they changed the size, maybe people complained that it was too big? Yeah it was pretty big, but guess what I did: I saved half for later. It was like two meals in one. This is my go-to place for breakfast. Original, unique, traditional, and make-your-own burritos, that usually fill me up for lunch. The vegan Mamacita is my current favorite and I'm not a vegan. The other items are equally satisfying and delicious, like the 2+2+2 Protein with egg whites. Get the fresh orange juice! It is squeezed to order, sweet, pulpy, zero tartness, in a large glass. Honestly, it's like juice you'd get straight off the tree in a grove. The place is unassuming, casual, and comfortable: mixed styles of metal and wood chairs and tables; metal trays for plates; cases of beer and catering stuff in the corners; you will not feel like you're in Beverly Hills, which is always good. This used to be a bad review based on a specific experience, but the owner contacted me, apologized, made it right. I respect this level of commitment so much that even though I haven't been back to take him up on his offer to make it right, I'm amending my review to reflect this. Original experience below, but I was assured that this was an atypical experience based on mitigating circumstances. --------- Bizarrely terrible experience. Went in and it was pretty quiet, we were on a short lunch break so asked the server if she thought we'd be ok with only half an hour and she said yes, should be fine. She didn't take our order for 15 minutes. 30 minutes pass and still no food. We ask if we can get it to go instead, they say no problem. The bill comes, we pay it, still no food. We're 45 minutes in at this point so some of us leave and one guy stays to bring the food once it comes. 55 minutes pass, we have to ask again. The manager (I think) brings it out and slams it down on the counter. We say "that was unnecessary", he grumbles about something non-distinct, and we say "well we won't be back here again". Or, ionno... you could just drive there when you're next in Beverly Hills. Anyuselesstangentway... Unlike the larger, more famous Canter's, Roni's isn't on most people's short-lists when it comes to "must-eat-ats" for delicatessens in the WeHo-BeHills area, but it's serviceable (even if it doesn't have a bakery with eclairs and brownies and other things that have far too many empty, delicious calories) and gets the job done when it comes to taking the edge of nightmarish hunger at a reasonable price. The standard deli selection of salty, fattening sandwiches is on offer here (corned beef, steak, pastrami, etc.) on your choice of bread, as is alcohol - though if you want anything harder than Beck's, it's BYOB, babe. You can even get burgers and salads, so the one girl in your group who is a lifelong vegetarian (or even if she just picked up on it in college) can still get full. Like, two meals worth of full. Service is friendly, but not smarmy and in your face, if that makes any sense (No? I'm sorry, sweetheart. Have some of my fries) The food is big, inexpensive, and comforting, though honestly not so Earth-shattering that you'll want to marry your four-cheese sandwich in a traditional wedding, with a dill pickle as maid of honor and shoestring potatoes as the flower girl. You've had better, but probably paid more. (I've said that a lot in my life) Roni's is somewhat "off-strip" insofar as location goes -- it's not right next to all the pricey, trendy shoppes on Camden, Rodeo, Canon, or the like, so you'll run into far fewer of the kind of incidental, touristy customers snapping pics before they pile back into their minivan, or those broke scenesters who like to hang out in expensive neighborhoods to try to look cool. The crowd at Roni's are there because they actually intend to eat there, and not just because they passed by and were hungry after trying on dozens of pairs of Jimmy Choos. More family-oriented, as well... -- A place you can take your parents when they drive out to see how their little boy or girl is living these days. (Living LARGE, my lovely. I've been here a couple times now, all for lunch. This is a regular diner, in Beverly Hills, which means that it is nothing at all like a regular diner. It is not overly greasy, the waiters/waitresses don't smell like cigarette smoke, and the decorations are way nicer than a regular diner. The pizzas are great. A small is plenty for one person, a medium for 2, a large for 4, maybe 5 not-so-hungry people. I've also had a wrap (which was ok) and a panini sandwich, which comes in huge portions that I nonetheless devoured without any problems (maybe I was hungry?). Since its a Beverly Hills diner, its a bit more expensive, but the service is also pretty fast and friendly. Great lunch spot. read more

I'm surprised the reviews are not higher because I had an amazing breakfast! Everything was so fresh and exactly like I imagined it to be. We ordered the breakfast sandwich made with whole wheat toast, avocado , egg whites, spinach snd lite feta cheese. It was the perfect size to share and healthy yet filling. The bread was very fresh and the egg scramble made perfectly light and fluffy. Then we also ordered the buttermilk pancakes w syrup and butter with fresh fruit as a side and bacon. The fruit was fresh and sweet and very good with the pancakes and everything worked perfectly together. The bacon was crisp and not greasy and the butter was real butter that was soft and room temperature so it melted immediately on our fluffy pancakes with crips edges. Our service was pleasant and very fast. We waited only a few seconds before we got our menu and shortly after only a few minutes for our food to come to the table. The atmosphere is like a Brooklyn deli with cool black and white framed photos of Rock n roll royalty and famous icons. There were three TV screens playing all different sports channels but the way it was mounted in the walls it was distracting to the overall vibe of the restaurant.
