I was craving breakfast. So I figured let's go to Mickey Fine's. Bad move on a Wednesday ig. It was fairly busy when I sat down, but the nice waitress took my order shortly after I'd taken in the menu. I should have ordered differently so it's definitely sort of my fault. But I asked for the denver omelette but to hold the ham, add cheddar, and a side of bacon. Also, let's get a side of pancakes, bc decadence. I should have just ordered a simpler order maybe, since they were so busy, but I digress. But my eggs came out and alas the bacon was not on the side. (At this point my obviously very busy waitress was elsewhere, and the woman who served my my food was different). I asked, apologetically, if they can make my eggs the way that I'd ordered them, (bacon IN eggs = GROSS sorry not sorry). This waitress looked at me with a pained expression and offered me an additional side of bacon instead. I'm like, never mind--you're busy and I'm not trying to be difficult. So never mind, I'll just eat my pancakes. I ate them, paid for the pancakes, and left. If I am craving breakfast again I'm going elsewhere. FYI this place is ok but service is iffy. After being a customer here for years, I'm extremely disappointed by how much the service has declined. The owner is incredibly rude, confrontational, and unprofessional. She hung up on me during a conversation and made decisions regarding my prescriptions without my request or authorization. Her behavior was completely unacceptable, especially in a business where professionalism, trust, and customer care should be a priority. A rare classic American diner in the back of a pharmacy. I sat at the counter and the servers were extremely nice and attentive. Great service and good diner food. I got a croissant egg sandwich with fries for a quick lunch while I was running errands in the area. I would definitely come back if I want a classic American breakfast. But every time I'm here or walk by, I can't help but sing this song to myself...and on a good day, I sing it out loud :) Conveniently located on the ground floor of a medical & professional building, next-door to Mickey Fine Pharmacy, this is a wonderful old-school coffeeshop/diner. They serve the standard breakfast & lunch fare (early dinner too)...but I like it mostly for a quick healthy lunch...and enjoy sitting at the counter ~ which for me speeds things up if & when I'm in a hurry. The service is also great & speedy with a smile and everything I've ever eaten is/was prepared well and delicious. They have a great & unique selection of sandwiches ~ my favorite being the grilled chicken with eggplant or chicken & pesto. I also enjoy their salads...and the chicken or salmon teriyaki bowls (with the sauce on the side please) Their prices are very reasonable considering it's Beverly Hills and it's very convenient when I need to go to their pharmacy, Quest Lab (which is located in the same building on the 1st floor) and Doctor visits. Parking can be an issue depending on your schedule and time of day. There's some metered parking on Roxbury Dr ~ if you're lucky enough to land a space. There's also more metered parking on the North side of Roxbury & Santa Monica Blvd...and there's also a BH City parking structure on Bedford Dr - if you don't mind walking a couple blocks. Only problem is Roxbury & Bedford are both one-way streets, in opposite directions...and traffic gets kinda busy & conjested at that intersection while circling around the block. That's why I like walking here if & when I'm able or have the time. There's an abundance of options to eat breakfast & lunch in the general area. But if you're already coming to this building (or nearby) it's nice to stay within the same place if you're pressed for time. And why I highly recommend Mickey Fine. read more

When I worked in Century City there was a Mikey Fine located in our building. It was a convenience store/gift shop and you could also drop off your prescriptions and they would be filled and delivered the same or next day. I work in Beverly Hills now and was looking for a place nearby my office that was similar to Mikey Fine in Century City. I was happy to find out that there was a Mikey Fine a few blocks from my office. When I walked in, I was surprised to see a lunch counter inside the store. Turns out this place was initially a dinner when it opened in the 1950's, and it is the only original pharmacy with a soda fountain in Los Angeles. In addition to the Grill there is a fully functioning pharmacy, which is where the Century City location sends prescriptions to be filled, and a section with essentials, trinkets, and gifts. read more

They gave us enough time t review the menu. There were ample amount of items to choose from. The serve breakfast and lunch from 7 am - 3 pm, Monday - Friday. The way the care for each customer, especially the regulars. It felt like a family atmosphere. I definitely would eat here again. I ordered the breakfast burrito with Turkey bacon, eggs and cheese. Mickey's is hidden behind a pharmacy but oh what a great place this is. I was thirsty and looking to buy a drink at the pharmacy when I stumbled across the diner tucked in the back. I only ordered a strawberry milkshake but I feel like I've stepped into a place where everybody knows your name. I received super friendly service from Annie at the counter and surprisingly this place started to crowd up as soon as I sat down. There was a young family here, an older couple, a group from out of town, and a business man. Everybody knew what to order and it sounded like everyone had been here before. This place is fairly small but the waitress has a huge personality. The milkshake was thick and creamy and Annie gave me enough for two huge cups. (Dined 02/18/13 M @ 12pm): Oh Mickey, you're so Fine, you're so fine you Grilled my mind... On this glorious President's Day holiday, a friend and I found the perfect opportunity to finally use a Groupon ($24.00 of food for $12.00) we've had for Mickey Fine Pharmacy & Grill. The business hours for this place was only Monday-Friday (7am-5pm) which made it difficult since we both worked during the week. We got our arses into the Toaster and hauled down Santa Monica Blvd. until it bottlenecked once we reached WeHo (damn Westsiders! lol). As we got closer, all I thought about was the movie "A Night At The Roxbury" starring Will Ferrell and Chris Kattan. You entered the pharmacy part then made your way towards the restaurant at the back. The concept reminded me of Woolworth's and J.J. Newberrys back in da' day where there was a food counter once you past all the merchandise. A male server behind the counter greeted us as we grabbed a seat and pulled out the Groupon. The place wasn't crowded at all, as I saw three individuals also at the counter, and two tables being used in the bigger dining area. He was ready to take our order once we sat but we weren't so he at least offered glasses of water. A small laminated pink menu laid before us. We both wanted a burger so that made things easy, and in five minutes we ordered: Mickey Fine Burger with onion rings ($8.75) and a vanilla milkshake ($3.95) for me; a Bacon Cheeseburger with the house cole slaw and a chocolate milkshake (same prices) for my friend. We watched our milkshakes get made by our server which was always fun, and soon enough our drinks were ready (I got a little extra side cup but my friend didn't). They came in a smaller cup then expected (only one size). My vanilla was smooth with enough texture and not too think like Jack-In-The-Box "suck out your lungs" thick. However, it was a tad light on the vanilla flavor. I didn't try my friend's chocolate shake. Our burgers suddenly came out of nowhere. Open-faced, steam came off of the burgers and toasted buns. The lettuce and tomatoes came on the side as did a 14 pickle spear. I placed the veggies on my burger and took a chomp out of it. It was hot but not scalding. Although the beef patty had grill marks it was still very juicy. There was a decent amount of chopped avocado, mushrooms, and onions, as they moved bite after bite until a slop landed on my plate. I didn't try my friend's burger, but it had bacon so it had to be good! ONION RING ALERT...They were lightly battered and didn't require any dipping. Standard onions were used and I wished they were bigger and more plentiful, but at least no extra charge. - 3 stars The service was very good. Javier, our server, was nice and on it with the exception of when he gave my friend an iced tea instead of the chocolate milkshake she ordered. But come on, it sucked that they had to be open in the first place, AND I aided to the problem. Apparently everyone knows "Anne", as her name was called out from other patrons. Parking was a bitch, as most of you I'm sure are aware of in Beverly Hills. I did see underground parking right next door but I think the sign read, $2.00/15 minutes...maximum $16.50/day". Hell no! I parked less than a block up the street on Roxbury Dr. at an open ramp lot ($2.00/hour - credit cards accepted) where the spaces were crammed. Otherwise, best of luck trying to find street (all metered) parking since that real estate was in high demand/low inventory status. Overall, I liked the nostalgic feel of Mickey Fine Pharmacy & Grill and that people knew everyone. Definitely a place for locals. I found very good value based on the prices and service noted above (total bill was around $25.00 but Groupon wiped it clean; left $6.00 cash tip), especially when you factor in the 90120 zip code. Menu is limited but I expected that. The atmosphere/décor was a trichotomy of pharmacy window, convenient store, then diner with the kitchen front-and-center as you're seated. I didn't noticed anything on the walls nor did I explore towards the dining table area which looked to be somewhat spacious with many wooden tables and chairs. It was very plain and blasé. The attire was totally casual, so I would be in a t-shirt, boardshorts, and flip-flops. Although the Groupon paid for the meal, they accepted my credit card of choice...AMEX! read more
