This spot is just a short walk from my office, and I love supporting mom-and-pop places because you can always feel the love and care they put into their food. I tried the Turkey Sandwich on my colleague's recommendation, and it did not disappoint -- honestly one of the best, most reliable options in the area. Love this place! Not only do they have some yummy options for lunch but they got you covered for breakfast as well. Prices are reasonable. Food comes pretty quick but you could order ahead for pick up. They have seating available and a small tv for some entertainment. They are a family based business which I love since there isn't many. Stumbled upon this cafe while I was walking to the nearby Starbucks. Decided on impulse to drop in to get something to eat, ordered a ham sandwich complete with avocado , alfalfa sprouts, tomato, lettuce, Mayo, mustard. Opted for a French roll, which cost 50 cents extra. Pretty good, filling, I have no complaints. The owner here was respectfully pleasant. $5 minimum charge for credit card transactions. This small little cafe near my work has been providing me with decent, well priced, and filling dishes for over a year. They have a variety of dishes to choose from all offered at a more than reasonable price. The workers are very friendly and quick to make the food. The food itself isn't anything amazing but it is not bad at all and still enjoyable. For the amount you pay and the amount of food you get I believe it is more than worth it. I like to get the chicken teriyaki plate and the omelette breakfast special. The chicken teriyaki comes with rice, salad, and chicken breast for around $7 and there is a lot of food! I would definitely recommend coming here if you want to grab a quick bite to eat for lunch as they have plenty of options for great prices! read more

I was in the area running some errands and saw this little cafe, so I decided to go inside. It is a small location, it seems to be very convenient to the nursing school next door. I had the chicken breast sandwich and let me tell you it was delicious! Everything was freshly made, you can see the older lady making the food, so you know it is fresh. I work in the area on the weekends and was finding that this little cafe was a nice place to stop in and get a sandwich for lunch....however, it started to get a little spendy. $8 for a bottle of diet coke and a small sandwich....I couldn't really afford it anymore. In addition, it is difficult to communicate with the owners who work there. I tried to call in an order once and they told me I had to come in and order. They had been somewhat accommodating when I wanted a veggie sandwich (something different than the gross one on their menu), but tried to charge me more the second time I tried to order it. Unfortunately, aside from the high prices and difficulty in communicating, I won't be going back because the hygiene seems to be lacking. The owner went back and forth between taking money and cooking...only once washing her hands. Also, service can be so slow and I don't have time to wait forever for a sandwich, especially when no one other customers are around. I've been noticing this quaint little snack shop in the corner of La Cienega and Gregory Way for weeks now, but it always seems to be closed every time I walked by. Today I actually saw it open so I decided to see what they had on their menu. I was greeted by a Korean couple, whom I assumed were the owners. The place itself is tiny, with a few small tables and chairs, a small tv on the wall with the fuzziest picture you'll ever see on a television set, a rack full of magazines, and that's about it as far as amenities... Nothing special on the menu either, a few sandwiches, salads, and specialty drinks. I was a bit hungry so I ordered the grilled chicken breast on wheat, which came out to a little over $6 with tax. I was expecting it to be some sort of combo for that price, but no it was just a sandwich. I was the only one in there, yet my order took more than 10 minutes...for a sandwich? c'mon!? It better be a damn good one! Uh, no...it was totally not worth $6! My sandwich was small, bland and nothing out of the ordinary. I make better sandwiches at home! I've been going here since 2006, and it's always my first choice for grabbing a quick bite when I'm near the area. This place deserves much praise then the mean reviews that were given below. The owners are super friendly and happy people, and will give you extra if you ask them for no charge. Recently, I went and noticed the owners changed, but the new lady was just as nice and friendly, and the food still tasted satisfactory. I usually call in so I can just quickly pick up the order, and eat on the go. My favorite is their chicken quesadilla number 16 on the menu which is delicious! They add salsa which gives it an extra zesty flavor and it's not bad for $5.75. I like to dip my quesadilla in Siracha sauce (the yummy got sauce), and its perfectly mouth watering. I also order their Chinese Chicken Salad #1 on the menu (I know I'm a fatty), which is fairly simple, with romaine lettuce, chicken, carrots, and wontons (or Fritos), but something about the sweet sesame dressing makes me want to come back for more. Just a heads up, if you're planning to eat here, ask for silverware, as the plastic fork is hard to eat with. This is a nice quiet place for those busy people on the go, and also a nice place to just stop by, grab and bite, and get a piece of mind. Think of it like moms house or something. I will not be coming here again. First off, the smell when you walk in is awful. I took one look around and there is dust all over the counters. After coming here multiple times because of the cheap and convenient food, my experience on November 9th was enough to make me never return to this place. This "cafe" is right next to my school, so I found it nice and convenient to get a quick bite before class started. I ordered a chicken sandwich and after three bites, I could not eat anymore. The chicken was SO dry and awful that I actually felt sick to my stomach. I brought my food to the owner and told the older lady that the sandwich is awful and that the chicken was as dry as the desert. I then asked her if I could get something else and she said "oh no you cannot change it". She also told me that the chicken, when it's cooked a few times, loses its flavor. Well, duh? She basically admitted to the fact that they use old, leftover chicken. Disgusting. To top it all off, the older lady who takes your money also makes your food as well, and DOESN'T wash her hands in between. I feel so disgusted that I ever spent money here. My classmates also complain that they get charged a different price each time they come here and they usually order the same thing every time. Awful, awful, awful and inconsistent. read more

My coworkers and I order here on a weekly basis and lovingly call this place 'Grama's'. Its a small Asian family run place, grama seems to make most if not all the entrees. Gramps works the back kitchen and the grandson works the cashier. Grama is always smiling and cheerful as she prepares the food. No one beats their prices on our block, for breakfast AND lunch. The portions are just right. I don't know how she does it, but every time we order everything is always fresh and even FEELS lovingly made. Its a word-of-mouth or i-walked-by-and-tried-it type of place. The only single downside is they don't deliver. read more

I found this on Yelp and was not disappointed! It's a nice little cafe tucked away in a corner near Wilshire Blvd. The moment I walked in, I felt like I was taken to a different world. The interior is quite quaint, with a lot of wooden textures. Food is very well-priced. I doubt you could get better food for the same price. The elderly lady who runs the shop is also very nice and friendly. I'd highly recommend this coffee shop if you need to get away from the hustle and bustle of Beverly Hills and Wilshire. read more

The place was deserted and the owner watched me like a hawk when I went in, couldn't understand a word I was saying (I'm British but still I speak extremely clearly) and had to get his wife who muttered amongst themselves about what I was asking for. I bought just a bottled iced tea to avoid more confused. After being handed a key after a couple minutes asking where the bathroom was I just said "forget it" and left when I attempted to ask the gentlemen where the door this mysterious key opened was. I usually get a large coffee, a huge fresh strawberry banana juice, and a lox bagel, all this for only about $9. I happened upon this cafe when I was doing research at the AMPAS just up the street, and went every day for lunch or breakfast (sometimes both!). Now that I am back in LA, I was pleased to find that it is still as delicious as the first time I was there. Have been back here several times this week.
