A small cafe in a commercial building in Beverly Hills. That Lady went in for an out-patient procedure, while waiting I decided to grab a bite. At first it looked like a small coffee shop but turned out they did so much more. I ordered an Americano, chicken noodle soup and a sandwich. The people are friendly and helpful. The sandwiches are made to order and the soup is fresh each day. The Chicken Noodle soup is tasty with a nice fresh cilantro garnish and served with old fashioned soda crackers, for a diner feel. The Pastrami Sandwich on ciabatta bread was tasty, not overly meaty but satisfyingly filling. Their Americano is strong and hot, the real deal Arabica taste. . read more

This spot is popular with the medical staff and its patients! The first time I tried to go, the line was too long for me and my short parking meter so I decided to come back. After seeing the doc, I came down where the lovely barista was chatting with one of the medical building employees. It seemed their transaction ended a while ago but the conversation was that good! I love knowing the barista has a personality she shares with patrons! They have alllll the milks and alllll the fancy syrups so you can customize your drink as you'd like. And their large latte comes with 3 shots - you've been warned - and it's fabulous!! Cheese danishes are my weakness and theirs was looking large and in charge so I snagged it and ate it before pics were taken. Whooops- guess I'll have to go back and try again ;) With a small/nonexistent line, I'd love to come back. The barista is kind and as Mother's Day was just around the corner we discovered that we were both pet moms! My visit ended with reciprocal wishes to have a "happy Mother's Day", in honor of our fur babies, and I walked off toward the car, chirping birds as my soundtrack. read more

It's a little tucked away under Building 8920, so it's not at eye level and easy to miss, but once you find it, you'll definitely be coming back. I came to Cafe Amara after my appointment at a nearby hospital. I was looking for a simple brunch (after hours of fasting) at a decent price. I got myself a simple ham and cheese croissant (with a cup of black coffee) after seeing a picture of it outside. The inside was very welcoming and simple. And the food I got was great-- simple, no filler, and savory. The price point was good. This is one of the few places I can say that the price is fair, in a deluge of overpriced brunch/diner items. The owner was polite. This is a good stop to eat for anyone along that part of Wilshire-Beverly Hills. read more

Put this in the win column. A proper little LA style bodega. The kind of place that reliably does more than just keep you alive when you're waiting around for an appointment or a prescription to be filled - it's delicious and friendly. The space is nestled below street level and unobvious unless you're strolling past. An outdoor seating area has about six two-top tables (each with a tiny tree to take away some of the otherwise chilly corporate architecture) and inside were another set of tables, each with a chair, kind of smashed near each other. It's not a candlelight date-night joint - this is a place to get really good coffee and a quick-ish sandwich (highly worth the very nominal wait time - especially the pastrami). Apparently the chicken wrap is the number one seller. I chose the pastrami breakfast burrito and it was well above expectation. The pastrami isn't made in-house, but they're careful to trim it and sear it to order. I will definitely return and also feel high minded when I recommend it to people who work and live near there. read more

LOCATION, SERVICE, & FOOD!!! I recently discovered this place located in Beverly Hills on Wilshire Blvd. It's tucked away just below the main sidewalk. Their outside poster displayed some great looking sandwiches and I'm pretty picky but I had to try. I ended up trying the breakfast sandwich. Uhh, 3 days into the week I had ordered that same sandwich every single day. Today the owner suggested I try the chicken wrap with jalapeños. I almost went back before they closed demanding another one. Nearly ate off my fingers it was so good. To top it off, the chicken noodle soup I tried was better than any grocery store brand you'll find out there. Wow! I'm very impressed! I stopped here for a quick lunch because we were here for a dental appointment on an upper floor of the building. The food is extremely good! And the woman working there is very kind and pleasant. The chicken wrap is actually the best I've EVER had! I'm not kidding. And the chicken soup is delicious. I enjoyed eating outside at the little tables. And I like that the outdoor patio is below street level so you don't have to deal with people walking right past you.
