The Fresh Veggie Sammie with Turkey added
    Tara T.

Welcoming, clean and beachy/modern aesthetic without a "try hard" feel. I was greeted right away with a friendly smile and great music from above. Thank you Kevin for the sandwich suggestion and help with my personal inquiry on my morning flight - navigating LAX. The ordered The Veggie on Sourdough, with turkey added. I wanted something fresh, crisp, and filling, and this hit all the marks . I love that the sandwich wasn't drowning in sprouts or aioli! Many places tend to lean heavy on sauces or filler ingredients. This place felt like they took the intention to balance the amount of each ingredient to compliment the bite! I will be coming back. Thanks again!

I usually come here for bread. It's either here or a place on Larchmont. I don't know which one is better. They're both good in their own ways. But the last time I was here, I was stuck on a work call so I gave my friend my card and had him order. He picked up a cinnamon roll. If you've never seen the cinnamon roll here before, it is massive. I've looked at it on many occasions but always decided against it. But he got it and then I tried some and was absolutely blown away by how good it is. My friend used to manage restaurants back in the day, so he's pretty familiar with food. He said this was the perfect cinnamon roll. Do I think it's perfect? I don't know. I haven't had a better cinnamon roll so probably. But then by calling it perfect, it closes the door for me to ever find one that is better. I think my friend is around 50, so he's lived out his food adventures, so I think him calling this the perfect cinnamon roll is appropriate for his food journey. But I still have hopes to one day find better. Anyway I got another cinnamon roll here today. It's still as amazing as it was last time and it's fun to get so much of the spread that goes onto the cinnamon roll on the side. Absolutely love this thing but I might need to stay away for the long term because sweets = weight gain haha. But we'll see if I can stick to just buying bread here... Oh I gotta ginger cookie here before and it was really good too. Everyone at the counter is nice and attentive but I've never actually dined in here, so I'm not too sure about the wait staff. The ambiance is nice here too with a little patio outside and a pretty decent sized eating area.

First time here and everything looked amazing. I tried the pastrami sandwich on their homemade sourdough--so good. The orange juice was fresh and perfectly balanced, not too sweet or sour. I loved the chai latte too, smooth and not overly sweet. Highly recommend the Wagyu pastry and cookies--they're not greasy or too buttery, just right. Pira was very kind and patient while I took my time deciding, and even offered to slice my loaf. Great service and nice interior as well. I'll definitely be back soon!

Pretty good bread with lots of chew. Smoked salmon was fresh and the right amount of cream cheese without going overboard. Matcha latte was ok, but more milky and matcha doesn't stand out too much so probs better for coffee here. Ample seating though. Comfortable with 2 restrooms.

The food is good but it's gotten way too expensive. A salad plus their cost of living charge you're around $25, the sandwiches you're low 20's and even a croissant is around $8. Have been to a lot of similar places and they cost is 15-20% more at least(plus their cost of living charge)

One of the best bakeries in town for sure. Came with a friend for breakfast on a weekday and there was no wait for a table. We dined in, plus got a bunch of items to go. I tried: + Shakshuka + Cold brew + Oat Poppy Cookie + Kouign amann + Peach Morning Bun + Cinnamon roll + Apple Millet Cake + Avocado toast with over easy egg + Chocolate chip cookie The oat poppy cookie is a sleeper hit - one of the best and chewiest cookies ever. Kouign amann, avocado toast and chocolate chip cookie were my other favorites. Cinnamon roll is comically large and was a huge hit in the meeting I brought it to later. Apple Millet Cake and cold brew were also great. Shakshuka was the only miss - just kind of runny and off - it paled in comparison to the avo toast. The guy who helped us out at the register was super friendly!

Ok been here twice now and can say I am a fan. They are currently re-doing the outdoor dining area, it didn't affect my experience at all. It will be nice to have that option once finished. Inside is clean and fresh, nice big booths. Menu covers all the sandwich and salad greats- tuna, blt, caesar salad, just a few. Their bread is amazing. Do note however if you get something on a baguette, make sure you have solid strong chompers- the homemade sourdough is one sturdy loaf! I had the blt this time and it was sublime! Lightly toasted sliced sourdough. mayo, juicy tomato, top-notch crispy bacon, and lettuce in perfect ratios created a stellar sammie. BLTs are simple but hard to master. Lodge got it right with top quality components and that delicious sourdough. Companion is crazy for the vegan Caesar and I have to agree- it is top-notch. The croutons are so yum and the dressing is perfect- tart with a citrus punch. I washed it down with a mint lemonade and I have to say that was on-point too. Got a loaf to go, too. Why not? Love this place!

A good spot for pastries and good coffee. Order the shakshuka, some flat whites and pastries. Friendly staff and helpful servers. Not the most comfortable booths, but at least there is seating.

We went on a Saturday morning and didn't have an issue finding parking. There were plenty of spots available right out front. I had the breakfast sandwich and coffee while my partner had the chocolate cake and a croissant. I thought the portions were generous and was surprised at the size of the breakfast sandwich, it was a large sandwich. Everything was good! The staff were friendly and personable and checked in with us to make sure everything was OK. It being a new restaurant, it has a new and clean vibe to it.

I just experienced what can only be described as a life-altering berry scone. Flaky. Buttery. Perfectly sweet. I'm not saying it changed me... but I'm not not saying that. And if that alone doesn't earn this bakery your loyalty -- they slice their own sourdough. Yes. They will cut it for you!!! And don't get me started on the cinnamon roll...

This cafe is so cute. My ricotta jam toast was sweet and savory. I can't wait to come here again!

We ordered a few pastries to dine in and take away. Also ordered a Shakshuka. It's something I order often and recently in the Middle East. This shakshuka tasted like Borsht. I think it might be in the grilling or broiling the tomatoes and peppers, but this one didn't taste right. It was more of a soup/stew flavor instead of a breakfast treat. Service was lovely and my Flat White delicious.

I stopped at Lodge and had the best experience ! Not only was the croissant perfect and didn't upset our tummies because it was perfectly soured BUT the service was great! They were kind and helpful and went above and beyond the call of duty to see that we were pleased. And then the best thing happened, an employee named Jess came to me personally to make sure we were having a great experience , she had been swamped and she wanted to be sure that she wasn't short or neglectful in the rush of lunch. I thought that was so amazing and 'big' of her to do so. Lodge you are very lucky to have Jess and the gang to hold it down for you in BH! I can'twait to return!! Oh! And the ambiance was the nicest and cleanest of ALL Lodge Breads! Love, A Lodge Stan

The outdoor setting was perfect for people-watching, adding to the laid-back vibe of the place. The staff were incredibly friendly, making us feel right at home. I decided to try the Dialog Breakfast Burrito, which has soft scrambled eggs, kielbasa sausage, and melted cheddar; crispy hash browns to add crunch, and the house-made spicy ketchup provides a zesty kick. I also enjoyed a Madagascar vanilla latte and fresh-squeezed orange juice. Let me tell you, the breakfast burrito was fantastic! The eggs were cooked to perfection, and the flavors blended beautifully. A special shout-out to Annika, who recommended the vanilla latte--it truly was heavenly! They use house-made vanilla syrup, which elevated the drink to a whole new level. While we didn't order it, I must mention the BLT that the table next to us had. Consisting of two sunroom-style dining areas separated by an open patio, the space is definitely an LA-chic brunch kind of place. It' wasn't our usual scene, but we decided to go with the upscale vibe even if it felt a bit pricey. The menu highlighted their artisan coffees, so Jamie ordered the $5.95 Iced Latte with a $1 Mexican Mocha chaser. I went for the $7 Iced Lavender Breeze Latte, a combination of an espresso blend, lavender, and coconut (Photo 6). They were both fanciful, flavorful, and very LA-style drinks. We then shared the $15 Homemade Cornbread, a cast-iron skillet version with a heaping amount of lard in the mix plus cultured butter and honey on the side. They even shaved rows of kernels on top (Photo 10). Tasty and kinda decadent. To offset that indulgence, Jamie first went for the refreshing $7 Fruit Cup of berries, melon, and grapes (Photo 8). He then ordered the $17 California Cobb Salad. It was a healthy bountiful of butter & romaine lettuce, egg, chicken, heirloom tomato, bacon, red onion, chives, avocado, and gorgonzola, drizzled with dijon mustard vinaigrette (Photo 9). I went a more traditional breakfast route and ordered the $23 Parisian Soft Omelette, eggs cooked to a velvety consistency and topped with buerre blanc and chives. My mother and I both had the Turkey Reuben -- hers with fries and mine with the apple kale salad. My mom even mentioned to Nick that the sweet potato fries should definitely be added to the menu! My dad ordered breakfast and wanted sausage... no sausage... BACON ONLY! Work on that, The Henry! Thanks to Larissa, we decided to give The Henry another try, and I'm so glad we did. The service, the atmosphere (the music and sunshine were perfect), and the food were all ooooooon point! Sometimes you've got to give people the opportunity to make amends by showing a little grace, and I'm happy we did. This visit completely changed our perspective. We'll definitely be back... promise!

The main entrance is off the courtyard, not right off the street, although if you only want the bar, then there's an entrance off the street that does not lead to the restaurant. Saved you a few steps. It was a very enjoyable experience. Again, it's upscale casual, and the prices reflect it, but they aren't out of control. The signature cocktails were $19. The food was fine, portions on the smaller side, but OK. For an appetizer, we had pretzels and fondue. $18. You get plenty of them, and they were really good! Perfect for sharing. For the main course, I had the seared tuna chopped salad. $27. The dressing was perfectly light. It was a good salad. Again, the portions are not large, but the quality was good. One of my friends had the steak Diane, $61. She gave it 4 out of 5. It was perfectly cooked. She also had a scoop of ice cream. $5. Not bad for that kinda' place. They have a great payment system I've never seen. There's a QR code on the bill, and you can pay for your part of the meal, or pay for whatever you want to. It's really easy and takes the hassle out of splitting the bill, and makes it easier for the server not to have to do separate checks. Great idea! Very enjoyable experience all around.

The professional way they package their meals for travel holds up well and the food arrives hot (or cold) and fresh and pretty well presented for traveling a few miles via delivery jockey. They're also quick at fulfilling orders so that these drivers can get in/out quickly. The guys really enjoy the quality and flavor of the food and we'll keep on ordering!

Innards were dry and the ends of the tortilla were stale. Plus the guac was flavorless and...frozen? In LA, I believe screwing up the simplest of guac recipes is sacrilege. Is anyone hyping this place? The staff weren't interested, and the food is terrible. Really, though, I couldn't care less about the staff. I've said it before and I'll say it again: the cashier could punch me in the face, but as long as the food's primo, I'm fine. Oi. LA has some of the BEST food in the nation! Some are even claiming, "Better than NYC." Michelin stars and Bib Gourmand recs cascade through our city, so why waste your time (and money!) on anything less than spectacular.
