Always a great experience. Friendly service, generous portions and wonderful atmosphere. The food is ALL amazing. Not to mention the pastries

I really like the aesthetics of this place as it is a mix of a mini market, deli, cafe, and ice cream parlor. They have breakfast sandwiches, granola bowls, pancakes, omelettes, burgers, hot dogs, salads, bakery pastries and cake slices. There's a fridge full of various fresh cheeses and another fridge with ready to bake breads and pastries that you can take home to bake yourself. Lots of variety snacks throughout the store; often ones that you do not find at regular grocery stores. For example, they have dang Thai Rice chips, which are bomb good. I used to only be able to find these on Thrive market, so it's good to see a local place sell them. Staff were all friendly and willing to answer any questions you may have. Interesting note is that they have various checkout counters throughout the store; it doesn't matter which counter you pay at. From the deli, I have tried... 1. Kale Salad with Spicy Peanuts & Queso Fresco It's technically supposed to be a healthy dish, but the sauce was too sweet for my liking. I think the sweetness is from the honey & the dried cranberries in it. Otherwise, the kale was fresh and spicy peanuts added a little bit of kick 2. Tarragon Chicken Salad The chicken was on the drier side, but the sour cream sauce was light and creamy - could use more herbs for flavoring though. I'll come back again for when I need a quick grub! Worth checking out if you are in the area

Goodness, my boyfriend took me here on a random whim because I love pastries, and we kept smelling this delicious restaurant of some sorts and I had no idea it was coming from this particular place!! As we walked into the left side, there were all the savory delicious dinner plates as well as takeout and take home items you could take to heat up or make at your house! Sadly, we had dinner reservations at 9 PM so I kept smelling all these delicious savory bites, but I couldn't take anything with us nor were we able to make anything at our hotel room! So I had to get some sort of pastry instead! Goodness the irony!! As I walked through the restaurant/dining area, I honestly loved their aesthetics and how they had so many cute little wine/cheese/pairings that could honestly work with the perfect afternoon of eating and snacking with drinks as well as savory foods!! Everything was so clean, cut and organized!! They even had ice cream!! Why did we come here?! I got two pastries for the morning and I was so happy and mad that I couldn't get any of the savory dinner items!! I will definitely be back to have more dinner options as well as wine and cheese pairings because honestly, that is the perfect afternoon for me!! Definitely a must see!!

Joan's on Third is one of my favorite spots for breakfast and brunch! My son absolutely loved the pancakes, and the breakfast burrito was delicious--definitely something I'd order again. Their coffee and matcha were both excellent, and it's hard to leave without picking up one of their amazing pastries. The atmosphere is just as great as the food. I love the decor--it's warm, stylish, and inviting. The staff is incredibly friendly and welcoming, which makes the experience even better. When we visited, they had the World Cup on, creating a fun and lively atmosphere without it feeling overwhelming. Whether you're stopping by for breakfast, brunch, or even dinner, it's a fantastic place with consistently great food and a welcoming vibe. Highly recommend!

    Short Rib Sandwich & Fries

I got the short rib sandwich and fries and tiramisu, which is not pictured. The sandwich was good! There was a major cheese pull when I was picking up half of the sandwich so I was even more excited to try it! I do wish it had a bit more flavor, but all in all it was a pretty good sandwich! The fries are standard fries! The tiramisu was good and it was definitely a good portion being $6. I ordered from DoorDash so I cannot account for the ambience of the restaurant itself. But the service was very quick and I got my order in about 30 minutes!

The pickles here are so good. The quality of the bread is fantastic and the short rib sandwich was a great balance of decedent without being overwhelming. The service was overwhelmed because it was lunchtime and very busy - seems like a big place for take away orders. The seating is also limited. But overall a fun place to look around and have a good counter lunch

A partial grocery store with an ice cream parlor along with a deli and sandwich counter all in one in this mixed use space. It's one of my friend's favorite sandwich places so so took me here while visiting. I noticed that they just started serving up smashed burgers so I had to give it a try. I was really good and the fries came out fresh and salty too. It was about $20 total for the burger and fries. Service was meh. The girl who took my order at the counter didn't even greet me when I walked up until I said hello to her first. For the most part everything is self-serve. They just bring out the order to you once its ready.

Joan's on Third has a great casual yet-upscale neighborhood vibe in the heart of LA. It feels authentic and welcoming. The place is usually busy but the line moves quickly. The service is genuinely friendly and efficient the staff makes you feel at home.

If we had a Joan's in SF I'd be here all the time. Beautiful, hearty and healthy breakfast options with a fromagerie and bakery included. Outdoor seating, a lovely wine list, coffee drinks. Even ice cream. Well priced. Helpful staff. The best avocado on toast complete with beautiful edible flowers and watermelon radishes. Yum.

Garden Vegetable Sandwich - without the cream cheese.
    Jeff B.

Yum! I had the Garden Vegetable Sandwich (minus the cream cheese) and my partner had the matzoh ball soup and Curry Chicken Salad. Everything was delicious. Friendly ordering experience and, after taking a number and finding a seat, the food came quickly. I like that you can serve yourself fresh tap water out of a tap in a nice sized cup - you aren't punished for not buying a drink if you just want tap water. I didn't want cream cheese on my sandwich, but was thinking it might make the sandwich dry. Wrong! The creamy hummus, tomatoes and fresh sprouts kept the sandwich tasty and moist. And the multigrain bread - excellent. A great and surprisingly filling veggie sandwich. The matzoh ball soup was good. Not too salty. And the Curry Chicken Salad was huge with a nice portion of delicious curry chicken. The place is very busy. Has a nice, modern vibe. The workers were friendly and folks coming around often to clean up when people left their tables. Only issue is parking. I was fortunate to see the reference to "private lot" on Yelp, so turned down the driveway and there was Joan's, about halfway down. Lot was pretty busy and I got the last space.

We have enjoyed breakfast and lunch at this restaurant this week while visiting LA on a vacation with our grandson . The food is terrific and appealing to all our different tastes ( our grandson loves the chocolate chip pancakes ) ! The food is fresh and expertly prepared . The staff is also extremely friendly, helpful and efficient. I highly recommend this restaurant ! A Big 5 Stars !

Food 4.9/5 Service: 4.5/5 Value: 4.7/5 The worst part about Joan's is that it's really hard to park but street parking is definitely possible. We had two sandwiches and honestly both were great. I had the braised short rib sandwich and wow, truly incredible. As someone who has tried to make braised short ribs before, I know how hard it is to make it as tasty as this sandwich was. The short ribs were delicate yet packed with flavor. When paired with the gooey cheese and the delicate greens and the slightly sweet pickles, it was truly an incredible experience. It is kind of pricey for a sandwich but definitely worth it.

Was walking around WeHo for work, and really needed a latte to make it through the afternoon. I saw Joan's was open, and seemed to be pretty busy with folks eating in and shopping around. It's a little market with various sections to order from, and I ordered my vanilla latte. It came out rather quickly, and was great! I thought the espresso was super good quality, which made for the perfect drink. It seems to be a good spot to spend the morning, or to catch up with friends, so I'll definitely be back

Omelettes are back! They have been for awhile. We apologize that you didn't know. We look forward to see ing you back again. Thank you for checking in.

When will the awesome omelettes be back on offer?

When is Joans going to resume pre-covid business hours, menu, indoor dining? It seems rather excessive that they haven't updated their policies being that dining restrictions have been loosened for months, and the majority of LA has been vaccinated.

Does your chinese chicken salad dressing have mayo or dairy in it?

    How's the parking?

Parking is a non-issue. They have valet parking behind their place and it’s complimentary.

Is phoning the restaurant the only option for ordering a picnic box in advance?

Yes. You could also show up in person and pay in advance.

This place is so cute that I've driven by it a million times thinking it was a fancy restaurant - not a cute hidden gem coffee shop! This particular shop is incredibly popular and always full but if you're lucky you'll get a seat in their adorable little outdoor area. They have some belly up counter style seats along the sidewalk and also a side garden with a few tables & chairs, plus some cute cushions on the steps for ground seating. Once again, I'm obsessed with the aesthetics at a Verve location. They really seem to focus on rustic wood vibes inside and incorporating nature in a fun way. I always love their flash nitro cold brew here. It's so smooth and refreshing! I also tried their matcha and loved it. Plus their chocolate chip sea salt cookie was money. I'm sure I'll be back to Verve in WeHo! Really enjoyed it yesterday.

You place your order at the register, then once you have a seat, they will call your name and you go and pick up your order. My food and beverage came out quick. Milton was another employee that was working with Gaby. He waa calling out our names for us to go and pick them up. Café was packed on a Saturday afternoon. A lot of young kids between the ages of 15 to 25. And then the baby boomers take a step forward..like myself. Well, something in between. They have extensive menu options from Sandwiches, Salads, Pastas of too many kinds, Bagels, some other appetizers that's on the menu ; categorized as Spotlight. Variety of Baked goods, and are known for their signature Egg Sandwich on Croissant. They also have many types of hot and cold beverages from Matcha, Mocha, Espresso,Hot Chocolate, Americano, Coffee, Latte, Tea & more. There were couple of things that I wanted to try like Eggs Benedict and Omelette, but they didn't have it. It's fine, when you are starving, you will settle for anything. So I went ahead and placed my order with Gaby. Got their famous Egg Sandwich on plain Croissant with: scrambled egg, tomato, lettuce, easy Mayo, and Avocado for $2.00 more. The Egg Sandwich was $16.00. I also got their IL TACCHINO-- (turkey sandwich), which came with roasted turkey with provolone cheese, crispy iceberg lettuce, sliced heirloom tomatoes, avocado and mayo. I opted for light pesto paste for the mayo. On a fresh Baguette (not toasted). If I wanted the bread to be toasted, I am sure they wouldn't have objected to it. ($18.00). My sandwich came with either chips or salad, I opted for salad with light Vinaigrette dressing. It was perfectly balanced. Oil, vinegar & wine. For a drink, I got their 24oz. Strawberry Mocha Iced decaf Latte, with an extra cup of ice. ($8.50). I do have to say that the Mocha dominated more than the Strawberry. It was totally fine with me, since I hadn't had a Mocha drink in a very long time. It was SUPER REFRESHING! Portions were plenty. Prices were fair, Food and my beverage was above and beyond fresh, flavorful and DELICIOUS!! No parking, only street and metered , one gender neutral restroom and a cute, small, lovely patio seating adjacent to the Café. Great music was playing overhead. 10/10.
