First time checking out this spot! Yummm
Kay O.

Goodness, my boyfriend took me here on a random whim because I love pastries, and we kept smelling this delicious restaurant of some sorts and I had no idea it was coming from this particular place!! As we walked into the left side, there were all the savory delicious dinner plates as well as takeout and take home items you could take to heat up or make at your house! Sadly, we had dinner reservations at 9 PM so I kept smelling all these delicious savory bites, but I couldn't take anything with us nor were we able to make anything at our hotel room! So I had to get some sort of pastry instead! Goodness the irony!! As I walked through the restaurant/dining area, I honestly loved their aesthetics and how they had so many cute little wine/cheese/pairings that could honestly work with the perfect afternoon of eating and snacking with drinks as well as savory foods!! Everything was so clean, cut and organized!! They even had ice cream!! Why did we come here?! I got two pastries for the morning and I was so happy and mad that I couldn't get any of the savory dinner items!! I will definitely be back to have more dinner options as well as wine and cheese pairings because honestly, that is the perfect afternoon for me!! Definitely a must see!!

Short Rib Sandwich & Fries
Quanisha K.

I got the short rib sandwich and fries and tiramisu, which is not pictured. The sandwich was good! There was a major cheese pull when I was picking up half of the sandwich so I was even more excited to try it! I do wish it had a bit more flavor, but all in all it was a pretty good sandwich! The fries are standard fries! The tiramisu was good and it was definitely a good portion being $6. I ordered from DoorDash so I cannot account for the ambience of the restaurant itself. But the service was very quick and I got my order in about 30 minutes!

A partial grocery store with an ice cream parlor along with a deli and sandwich counter all in one in this mixed use space. It's one of my friend's favorite sandwich places so so took me here while visiting. I noticed that they just started serving up smashed burgers so I had to give it a try. I was really good and the fries came out fresh and salty too. It was about $20 total for the burger and fries. Service was meh. The girl who took my order at the counter didn't even greet me when I walked up until I said hello to her first. For the most part everything is self-serve. They just bring out the order to you once its ready.

We have enjoyed breakfast and lunch at this restaurant this week while visiting LA on a vacation with our grandson . The food is terrific and appealing to all our different tastes ( our grandson loves the chocolate chip pancakes ) ! The food is fresh and expertly prepared . The staff is also extremely friendly, helpful and efficient. I highly recommend this restaurant ! A Big 5 Stars !

If we had a Joan's in SF I'd be here all the time. Beautiful, hearty and healthy breakfast options with a fromagerie and bakery included. Outdoor seating, a lovely wine list, coffee drinks. Even ice cream. Well priced. Helpful staff. The best avocado on toast complete with beautiful edible flowers and watermelon radishes. Yum.

Latte

Was walking around WeHo for work, and really needed a latte to make it through the afternoon. I saw Joan's was open, and seemed to be pretty busy with folks eating in and shopping around. It's a little market with various sections to order from, and I ordered my vanilla latte. It came out rather quickly, and was great! I thought the espresso was super good quality, which made for the perfect drink. It seems to be a good spot to spend the morning, or to catch up with friends, so I'll definitely be back

Garden Vegetable Sandwich - without the cream cheese.
Jeff B.

Yum! I had the Garden Vegetable Sandwich (minus the cream cheese) and my partner had the matzoh ball soup and Curry Chicken Salad. Everything was delicious. Friendly ordering experience and, after taking a number and finding a seat, the food came quickly. I like that you can serve yourself fresh tap water out of a tap in a nice sized cup - you aren't punished for not buying a drink if you just want tap water. I didn't want cream cheese on my sandwich, but was thinking it might make the sandwich dry. Wrong! The creamy hummus, tomatoes and fresh sprouts kept the sandwich tasty and moist. And the multigrain bread - excellent. A great and surprisingly filling veggie sandwich. The matzoh ball soup was good. Not too salty. And the Curry Chicken Salad was huge with a nice portion of delicious curry chicken. The place is very busy. Has a nice, modern vibe. The workers were friendly and folks coming around often to clean up when people left their tables. Only issue is parking. I was fortunate to see the reference to "private lot" on Yelp, so turned down the driveway and there was Joan's, about halfway down. Lot was pretty busy and I got the last space.

Chinese Chicken Salad and English Muffin Egg Sandwich plus hash browns on the side.

This was such a cute little spot we stumbled on while grabbing some coffee. Delicious options and was able to easily find something with an egg allergy.

Chinese Chicken Salad

I've been coming here for years & I always get the same thing. The Chinese Chicken salad is in my opinion the best thing on the menu. My hubby gets the English muffin breakfast sandwich with a side of bacon. The only thing I sometimes run into, is when I ask them if they can cut up the chicken a little more, in the salad. It comes with big large strips, it's hard for me to eat with the salad & They usually tell me no & that it's an issue, once in awhile I'll get an understanding & accommodation from them but it seems to usually always be a hassle to accommodate? Curious why..?

I am RARELY in the Los Angeles area, but my niece randomly chose this place (not knowing the area or anything). We stepped in to find a bustling room filled with customers. You order from the counter or can go to the other side where the hot foods are laid out (and not on the menu). We chose the smash burger and brisket sandwich with fries. The service was great and the food was AMAZING! The fries were perfect!! If ever in the area again, I'd come back for sure!

Food 4.9/5 Service: 4.5/5 Value: 4.7/5 The worst part about Joan's is that it's really hard to park but street parking is definitely possible. We had two sandwiches and honestly both were great. I had the braised short rib sandwich and wow, truly incredible. As someone who has tried to make braised short ribs before, I know how hard it is to make it as tasty as this sandwich was. The short ribs were delicate yet packed with flavor. When paired with the gooey cheese and the delicate greens and the slightly sweet pickles, it was truly an incredible experience. It is kind of pricey for a sandwich but definitely worth it.

Short Rib Sandwich
Sandra K.

I've never been to the establishment but it's been delivered to my work so I can't say anything about the actual place. BUT THE SANDWICHES ARE SO GOOD!!! Both the short rib sandwich and the turkey club sandwich have been heavenly. Both sandwiches are so well packed with protein and I found them to be the perfect amount of food for a meal. I also love the crisp on the bread. I would eat these sandwiches again!!

Mushroom burger
Michelle G.

Such a cute place with great outdoor seating in a trendy area. Fresh salads and goodies on the deli side or order off menu. I got the mushroom burger. It was very good. I only wish I had held the aioli sauce or asked for it on the side as it was a bit too mayonnaise tasting. No side came with it. Order at counter and it gets delivered to table. I'd come back to try vegan Chinese salad next time.

When is Joans going to resume pre-covid business hours, menu, indoor dining? It seems rather excessive that they haven't updated their policies being that dining restrictions have been loosened for months, and the majority of LA has been vaccinated.

Unfortunately, Community Goods is worth the hype and I will be coming back and waiting in line haha…read more I went for the first time a few weeks ago on a Saturday morning around 9:30am and waited 1.5 hours. The line is not for the faint of heart. I tried their matcha einspanner, breakfast sliders, and pistachio toast and all three were AMAZING. - Matcha Einspanner: One of the best matchas I've ever had! The matcha is so well balanced - you can actually taste the matcha, not too sweet, and creamy too. They also sprinkle sea salt on top which helps enhance the matcha flavor. My only complaint is that I wish the cup was bigger. - Breakfast Sliders: I wasn't expecting much from the sliders, but everyone always hypes up their slides, so I knew I had to give it a try. I was not disappointed! The egg is so fluffy and the sauces that come with it are so delicious, especially their hot sauced. I added bacon and avocado too and it was great. - Pistachio Toast: I feel like their pistachio toast is not talked about enough. It was so yummy and satisfying that I wish I could get another one. The toast is hearty and the pistachio spread with sea salt, olive oil, and olive oil is the perfect balance of sweet and savory. I'm still thinking about their toast. Although it is quite pricey, I think the taste and quality justify the price. The interior is small and there's about 6 tables outside which is pretty crowded so you might have to take it elsewhere to enjoy. Parking is easy with metered street parking or free parking in the neighborhoods.
