I love this little cafe! The ambiance is relaxing and the decor is chic and classic. Their bathroom is always clean and you don't have to bother the workers for a code (please don't abuse this so they don't change!) the staff are all attentive and quick to take your order and whip up your drink! Some of them are friendly, others are grouchy and rude. I don't take it personally because these select baristas are mean to everyone, not just me . Sometimes I'm in the mood for a thick, overly sweet tiny $10 matcha latte from the usual spots as a dessert-like treat. Other times I want a lighter matcha from here! They're twice the size (and priced lower), subtlety sweet, and you don't feel heavy after drinking it. I love their strawberry and mango matches best.
This is a nice little coffee shop that's located right across from the famous pink wall, the decoration is simple. I order a sandwich and a Matcha drink. The sandwich was fresh, but the Matcha is very blend, actually not good at all.... I'm not sure about the coffee, overall, I think it's a nice place for people to rest and use the restroom and get some refreshment. It has plenty of seating.
Carrera is literally right across from the famous Pink Wall, making it the epitome of the LA Cafe experience. My friend and I went because they had a special limited-time Traitors theme, and we are both big fans of the show. We got an iced matcha and latte. Nothing about the flavor of the drinks stood out, but what makes it unique is that they can create designs on the tops of the lattes that looks really cool. They also have a wide range of flavored syrups you can add to your coffee ranging from peppermint to mango.
Came here for a brand activation. This is a nice cafe with plenty of seating. I easily could've ordered at least seven different things from them menu as their drinks all sound so tempting. The matcha I ordered was a little too bitter for my liking but I'm still willing to try it again (as well as many other menu items).
Stopped into Carrera to grab a latte while we waited for our dinner reservations. Staff were welcoming and quick preparing our drinks. Location was cute and clean and looks out into The Pink Wall at Paul Smith. Fun to sit and watch all the tourists taking their photos at the wall!

Work in the Melrose/Wilshire area and you are looking for a place to grab lunch? Definitely hit up Carrera's! I know most people come here for the printed lattes but you need to check out their pastas! I honestly wasn't planning to eat here at all that day but I decided to try their penne pasta and I am so glad I did. It is a very decent size portion, my photo doesn't even do it justice. The flavor was delicious and the pasta was cooked to perfection. The cafe itself is small in the inside but there is some seating to get work done if needed. There are outlets to charge your devices and free wifi as well.
Food is still good/pricey. One thing that was different that I didn't mention years ago was we had to get our food at the counter. I can't recall if we had to do that back then. Guy was nice at the counter answering all our questions which is why I tipped.

They had a good selection of pastries and the interior is decorated very cute. I was disappointed the little patio area seemed kind of under construction. There were only a couple tables and idk it was fine but didn't feel particularly welcoming. Iirc a couple chairs were stacked but it was later in the afternoon so maybe they were about to close. I would definitely return even though the date was mid lol
I stopped in mainly to use their WiFi for work, but I ordered a coconut matcha (I've seen them all over the place and have been curious about the taste), and it wasn't very good. The coconut water should be a bit sweeter, and I'm pretty picky about my matcha so this probably wasn't the best place to order that. I don't think there are any outlets, so this isn't somewhere to stay for long if you're trying to work or study for a while.

The baristas make amazing foam, even though it's someone new every time The pastries are absolutely incredible -- the Nutella donut and almond croissant are my favorites. For my husband, I usually get a scone since it's not as sweet. The restroom is always clean, and there's great outdoor seating with a view of the pink wall full of tourists.

The interior has a fun, Parisian café feel, and the handwritten marker menu on the white brick wall is especially eye-catching. It's the kind of place where I could easily grab a coffee and hang out for an afternoon. I ordered the Carrera Club sandwich. Flavor-wise, it was good, and the ingredients tasted fresh, and I also really liked the dressing that came with the small side salad. That said, the portion was very small for what you pay. It didn't really feel like a full meal, at least not for the price. The sandwich was $18 plus tax, which felt hard to justify, given the size, even considering the West Hollywood location. I noticed the pastas looked more reasonably portioned, so if I come back, that's probably the route I'll go. Overall, the ambiance is a big win here, but the pricing and portion sizes make it tough to fully recommend for lunch. I'd love to give this place a higher rating because the vibe is great, but it just feels a tad too expensive for me to really recommend it.

Let me start my review by saying what a cute, clean, quaint, charming Café is Carrera Café. Walked in yesterday at 1:15pm and was greeted by Gaby at the register. You place your order at the register, then once you have a seat, they will call your name and you go and pick up your order. My food and beverage came out quick. Milton was another employee that was working with Gaby. He waa calling out our names for us to go and pick them up. Café was packed on a Saturday afternoon. A lot of young kids between the ages of 15 to 25. And then the baby boomers take a step forward..like myself. Well, something in between. They have extensive menu options from Sandwiches, Salads, Pastas of too many kinds, Bagels, some other appetizers that's on the menu ; categorized as Spotlight. Variety of Baked goods, and are known for their signature Egg Sandwich on Croissant. They also have many types of hot and cold beverages from Matcha, Mocha, Espresso,Hot Chocolate, Americano, Coffee, Latte, Tea & more. There were couple of things that I wanted to try like Eggs Benedict and Omelette, but they didn't have it. It's fine, when you are starving, you will settle for anything. So I went ahead and placed my order with Gaby. Got their famous Egg Sandwich on plain Croissant with: scrambled egg, tomato, lettuce, easy Mayo, and Avocado for $2.00 more. The Egg Sandwich was $16.00. I also got their IL TACCHINO-- (turkey sandwich), which came with roasted turkey with provolone cheese, crispy iceberg lettuce, sliced heirloom tomatoes, avocado and mayo. I opted for light pesto paste for the mayo. On a fresh Baguette (not toasted). If I wanted the bread to be toasted, I am sure they wouldn't have objected to it. ($18.00). My sandwich came with either chips or salad, I opted for salad with light Vinaigrette dressing. It was perfectly balanced. Oil, vinegar & wine. For a drink, I got their 24oz. Strawberry Mocha Iced decaf Latte, with an extra cup of ice. ($8.50). I do have to say that the Mocha dominated more than the Strawberry. It was totally fine with me, since I hadn't had a Mocha drink in a very long time. It was SUPER REFRESHING! Portions were plenty. Prices were fair, Food and my beverage was above and beyond fresh, flavorful and DELICIOUS!! No parking, only street and metered , one gender neutral restroom and a cute, small, lovely patio seating adjacent to the Café. Great music was playing overhead. 10/10. The coffee was pretty good, the latte art was super fun, the pastry cabinet looked delicious, but we didn't try anything because we were on our way to breakfast, and the service was friendly but a little disorganized. We had cappuccinos and some sort of cookie dough special latte which sounded excessively sweet, but really wasn't too bad. I was actually shocked they didn't make it too sweet. Overall I'd recommend, mainly because of the super fun latte art. It's definitely pricey. I think our coffees are about $10 each. It probably wouldn't be my every day coffee stop, but I'm definitely glad we went! read more

I stopped by for lunch on a Sunday. The restaurant is right in front of the Pink Wall on Melrose, so it's easy to spot if you're in the area. The vibe is nice with a modern look and a fairly condensed menu. I tried the Burrata Caprese and my husband tried the Carrera Club. The sandwich was okay, nothing to write home about. It's not bad if you're nearby and need a bite, but if you're looking for an amazing sandwich, don't set your expectations too high. The sandwich is on the smaller side; I don't eat much, and it was barely enough for lunch. That said, the people at the counter were friendly, which was a plus. read more
I have loved this place for years and it was my first time trying their egg sandwich on a croissant. All their drinks are amazing and they usually change out the variation of pastry's so it's always something new. Which also has minimal hype in comparison to other LA cafes. Firstly, as a visitor I really do rely on gps to get me around. However I feel that even without gps this place is easy to spot. It's right on a corner, with lots of street parking once you are off the Main Street. Which I thought was nice especially while some other shops are nearly impossible to find let alone find parking. The decor is simple and modern, the restroom in particular is beautiful. Lots of outdoor/indoor seating. The staff is on top of it when it comes to cleaning. As for what I ordered. It was quite tough since they have a vast menu of options filled with fun things like cute designed coffees and even PASTA. I had to contain myself and just start with something a little more basic. I ordered a vanilla oat milk iced latte and their egg sandwich that they seem to be famous for. The latte was a regular latte nothing special I do believe there are other shops that would have more of a wow effect on me. Yet still was a decent enough latte, so no complaints. As for the sandwich, now that was special. The perfectly buttered croissant bread with the slightest crunch paired divinely with whatever sauce they had in the sandwich. My goodness, I took half of it home and ate it later. Even when it was cold it tasted divine. What really round up this whole experience for me was the service. The staff was so friendly and welcoming. They are definitely visitor friendly, not like some other pretentious coffee shops. This place has made it to my "must go back lists" which is hard to get on. Great place to work from or hang out with a friend! We got the hot chocolate and iced latte, both were good, and since we were there during the end of day, we both got a free pastry! They also have free WiFi and outlets and lots of parking around. Really liked my experience at Carrera cafe! read more

We were walking to the pink wall on Melrose Ave and decided to stop in since it was across the street. The place was cute and the staff friendly. We tried the Cinnamon Tiramisu Latte and it was very sweet and very cinnamon-y. Not a bad thing but more so than I was expecting. read more

What's more LA than grabbing a vanilla latte and taking a picture at the famous Paul Smith pink wall?? Carrera Cafe is the place to grab a hot or iced drink and a salad or sandwich if you're feeling hungry. Me and the hubby stopped in on a Sunday afternoon around 1ish and found a place to park across the street with 30 min on the meter still( score for LA parking!!!) we did add another 25 cent to give us 45 min. The hubby ordered a vanilla latte ($8.75) and he really enjoyed it. I ordered a matcha latte with coconut milk( unsweetened) $7.25. It tasted very earthy lol and next time I would add sweetener to it! We both got the option to ripple it ($3 each) which is putting a design on top of the foam on your coffee or tea. The hubby got the LA design and I uploaded a picture of my face . We both loved how they came out! The staff was super friendly and we were able to find seats in the corner as we sipped out drinks. And after we went right across the street to take pics in front of the pink wall. read more
I'm surprised by everyone saying service was good. The guy at the counter was super unfriendly and unhelpful. Cinnamon tiramisu latte- that was good. The server said it was super sweet. It wasn't. The only way you figure out about the speciality coffees is by the sandwich board outside. Nothing inside the store. What? Didn't know anything about the amazing foam art because server didn't say a word about it. I just saw it when I came back in to get my food. Avocado toast was just ok. We sat outside for about 30 mins and there were plates from the previous tables that no one bothered coming out to clear up. Very disappointing. read more

Discovered what a Canelé is at this spot and I'm in love! I got a Nutella Canelé and it was very tasty. I also got the banana iced latte with honey but cheerios as a topping. It was so good !! The cashier was kind and the space is nice to chill in. They're playing nice instrumental soundtracks and some Sade which makes the environment nice to be in too :) read more

We went to the Kobe x Luca mural right outside this coffee shop and decided to pop in. It was nice and bright in there. A large menu adorns their back wall. They serve food in addition to coffee and other beverages. The server was friendly. I ordered an iced vanilla latte with oat milk. It was smooth and creamy. A great coffee! read more

How often can you send a text and say, 'I drank coffee with my picture on it?'. I mean I can often enough since I've become a regular here at Carrera Cafe. I love the Ripple program they use to add images into the top of drinks. I love how easy it is to order and pick your picture or design whatever you want for the topping. The service is great, orders are taken thoroughly and are prepared in an efficient manner. I don't think I've ever waited more than between 5-10 minutes even on a busy day here. The ambiance is super laid back and chill. There's people chit chatting and minding their business. The parking is almost always readily available, there's street parking on Melrose and on the small side streets as well. I definitely can recommend Carrera Cafe for a meeting, a date, a chill day out with friends and/or family and all that good stuff. It works with its guests you can say. Thank you guys!! About average for the area. I came because every time I drive by there's a dog patron walking in or out. There was today too. Sadly one of my dogs is not dog friendly and the other dog joins in on barks so I ordered then sat outside. Nice little faux grass patio. Coffee was six bucks for a large. Like I said that's the neighborhood. Service was OK. I try not to expect a gleaming smile from every interaction. It's just coffee. Donuts are six bucks which is silly. They're the same as ones from the donut shop. So no to the treats here ever probably. Might try the regular food another day but that too is slightly pricey and doesn't look super interesting, being comprised mostly of salads and sandwiches. Dang it Joe Biden. Always blame the president for stuff costing too much. It's not bad but I'd return only to pet other people's dogs and leave mine at home. read more
