This place was a nice little spot to chill and unwind a little! There's a decent amount of seating and the service was good which I can always appreciate. I got a honey latte which tasted pretty good. $8 not too bad but I will say the food options looked a little pricey! I would definitely come back to try another one of the many drink options for sure!

This place has a great vibe! I ordered an iced Blueberry Maple Latte which was absolutely delicious!! The lady who made my drink was really pleasant

The food was amazing. Had to grab something on the go, while we were there for our Kids doctor's appointment next door. The ambience was really nice too!

BCC is a beautiful coffee shop with quiet and relaxed atmosphere. They only have about 8-9 tables so seating is unfortunately quite limited. Had an iced oat latte and my wife had a matcha latte. The iced oat latte was good, but definitely not the best in the area. The matcha latte was very strong so if you love a strong matcha, you'll really love it. The breakfast sandwich was decent. My only complaint is the price - easily one of the most expensive coffee shops in the area. $10 for an iced oat latte (alt milks are $1.50 up charge) and $10 for the matcha latte. The breakfast sandwich was $20(!). Other than that, the drinks and food were good and service was friendly!

The black canvas cafe is a nice little coffee shop in Beverly Hills. The plant wall was really nice especially having widow exterior. I had ordered a chai which was pretty good. It was late and didn't get a chance to try any of their pastries.

I am an avid matcha drinker and this is by far the best matcha I have ever had. The rose water recipe is incredible!! I could decide what to eat so we all ordered something different and shared. Açaí, avocado bagel, omelette and almost croissant were delicious!! The açaí was a big size. Reasonable prices Clean bathroom WiFi connection was great Easy parking Nice staff Big windows for great natural light. Fresh smell from all the real plants Didn't mention the matcha? THE BEST

Overpriced terrible coffee. Wouldn't recommend. Place itself is nice service is okay.

came here after my doctors appointment and while i didn't have a bad experience, i was underwhelmed. I ordered a croissant sandwich and latte and both were alright, but nothing to brag about. it's small with limited seating indoor and the girl taking my order didn't seem like she wanted to be there but all in all everything was good

My hub and I went in for a light bite. Shared the mushroom spinach omelette and salad with toast and it was yummy. The latte and cappuccino were equally delicious

The customer service is greatly lacking. Definitely unwelcomed vibes. My oat chai latte was mediocre maybe 6/10 at best. The owner has a recent sign that says dogs are not allowed. Although my dog and I were on the patio, she still had the nerve to vent to us about a previous incident she had with an entirely different dog. This is so unprofessional and had nothing to do with me or my dog who was literally being an angel, sat outside, and didn't make a sound. The only reason I came here is because I needed a quick coffee on my walk and this happened to be right here. Would not come again. Customer service goes far with businesses but apparently non existent here. I'm being courteous and adding a second star because it's cute inside and paid street parking is available if needed.

I love a new take on a standard drink. At first, I was weary about the blueberry addition to the matcha because those can be sickeningly sweet from the sugary syrups. However, I saw on the menu that they use blueberry puree, so I have it a shot. I am so glad I did bc it was delicious! The blueberry flavor was the lightest hint where you knew it was there, but the matcha was still the star. Perfect proportions. Also, stellar latte artwork, as well! My man got the Persian rosewater iced matcha. Again, I love the new take, but this one was a little too fragrant and floral for my taste. My man loved it, and I appreciated the flavor combination, the blueberry one was just more my speed. Lovely space, plenty of outdoor seating, great café experience.

Black Canvas Coffee shop opened recently and is located on the street level of the Garden House building on Wilshire Bl and Stanley, west of La Cienega. Limited street parking only. Black canvas is also located in Hollywood and now here in Beverly Hills. I would come here more frequently but with the street closures and road blocks on Wilshire Bl due to the massive construction project for the Metro makes it inconvenient. This cafe is in a farther area away from Rodeo Drive and needed a cafe. Indoor and outdoor seating and decor of shelved etagere filled with plants, black and white items. It's nice and bright being surrounded by floor to ceiling glass windows. The menu has some signature flavor coffee drinks which perked my interest. Have tried the Agave Latte, Honey Latte and espresso all iced and with oat milk all good but not caffeine strong enough, I always add an additional espresso shot. Haven't tried the pastries, but on display are sweet and savory, vegan and gluten free. Service from staff was just ok. I always prefer other coffee shops than a Starbucks. This shop is new, clean and sunshine filled bright, with coffee drinks that will sure perk your interest.

This cafe is quite spacious with a lot of seating outdoors with covered and uncovered seating. The staff were super nice and friendly and welcoming. One of their executive staff Karina was there to greet us and welcome us and offer the amazing suggestion of trying their waffles. I ordered the Dialog detox smoothie with kale, spirulina, hemp milk , banana and pineapple. It was the perfect balance of sweet and earthy and it was a great pick. The star of the show was their waffles with strawberry butter. Their strawberry butter is made with colostrum and made in house. It was so creamy, sweet and delicious! The waffles was fluffy and soft and the right amount of crisp. The waffles and butter just melts in your mouth. I had a great experience and will definitely return whenever im in the area. Ambiance feels like a busy small community cafe on one of the Greek islands. They seem always busy. About 90% of the tables were occupied on a Monday morning at 1030 AM. Wasn't expecting it but after trying some of the dishes I can certainly see why this place is a local favorite. Also lots of free parking in the back which takes a load of stress off for an OC girl like myself. Here's what we tried: 1. Homestyle Cornbread: this is incredible. Cornbread made to order in a skillet with actual corn on Cobb on top to give it the upmost appeal. Served with cultured butter on the side which was fantastic. Worth coming back just for this. 2. Thai Tuna and Avocado Tartare: also phenomenal shared plate. Very generous amount of tuna/cucumber/purple onion tartare on a bed of sliced avocado and lime juice. All dressed in a coconut milk vinaigrette (KEY ingredient). Sooooo incredible, please order. My favorite dish here. 3. Empanadas: option for breakfast empanadas or others (beef, spinach). Went for the breakfast empanadas which had, I believe, sausage and cheese filling. Wasn't much flavor with Not much filling and more of the crust. Personally would pass on this one or try a different one. Two per order. 4. Butcher's burger with side salad: very rich and juicy Wagyu/Angus beef patty with onion jam (not too sweet), herb aioli, lettuce, and pickles in a brioche bun. Pretty good but the other two above stole the light. 5. Color burst latte: your usual latte but with a burst of rainbow art which just gives its unique personality. Would order at least one for the table. Fun to try 6. Matcha lemonade: interesting flavor. Get the matcha kick with a citrus twist. Overall great place for hang out with friends. Casual vibe with cocktails and great food. See myself coming here more often especially with convenient parking.

I enjoyed one more happy hour and one more early dinner before they closed for good…read more During the HH, I had the truffle french fries and the pepperoni pizza. Fries were good this time, but I would go without the pizza in the future. On their final opening night I arrived too early; forgetting that dinner didn't start for an hour so I had the fries (again) while waiting for dinner. Thankfully, the order was put in a little earlier and I was able to enjoy the Penne alla Vodka. I was on the fence about the 20-Layer Cake but I ended up caving in, getting it to go for later. Unlike the first time I got this, they now had a perfect, custom box for the slice to fit whereas before they had to cut the cake in half to fit it into the box they had at the time. I know the New York location has delivery/to-go only, but there is still the Las Vegas one. Sad to see this place close down, as the location seems to be a curse for so many places (Hamburger Hamlet, Rivabella, Roku, now Lavo...).

During my foodie relatives' Thanksgiving week visit to Honolulu, we were discussing making…read morerestaurant reservations for our upcoming Christmas/New Year visit to Los Angeles. However, after we raved about our multiple dining experiences at LAVO Las Vegas, we were surprised to learn that none of our relatives had ever dined at the restaurant's Los Angeles location. So, when the opportunity arose, I made an after-Christmas dinner reservation through OpenTable and excitedly waited. We knew exactly where LAVO Los Angeles was located, as we had frequently driven past the Sunset Medical Tower on Sunset Boulevard and had eaten at the same restaurant space before it changed hands several times over the past decade or so. They offer valet service, which only accepts credit card payments, and because of the restaurant's location, you might as well use the service, because you'd be hard-pressed to find street parking. Our group of six arrived at the restaurant about 30 minutes before our reservation and were greeted by a friendly hostess who asked whether we were ready to be seated or preferred to wait in the bar. We chose to be seated, and she escorted us into the quiet, warm, yet festively decorated dining room. The busser approached us, took our water service request, and informed us about who our server would be. Our server, Addison, came to our table while the busser refilled our water glasses and offered assorted citrus slices to flavor them. After my brother-in-law showed Addison the magnum of wine he brought and asked if the sommelier could uncork the bottle, since it was not only a 2006 vintage but also had a long, possibly fragile cork, even though they kept the bottle in their personal wine storage. Unfortunately, they didn't have a sommelier on duty, and Addison informed us of the restaurant's impending end-of-year closure and confidently said she could uncork it with her trusty corkscrew. However, my brother-in-law decided to give it the "ol' college try" and successfully uncorked the bottle. FOOD: -Fritto Misto: a platter of lightly battered and fried zucchini, shrimp, calamari, and vinegary peppers with marinara was delivered to our table and was quickly shared and devoured. Everyone felt the fritto misto was light, delicious, and perfectly cooked. $28 -The Meatball: We've often seen this appetizer ordered at the Las Vegas site, but we never ordered it because we felt it was too much food to share between us. However, now that we had our family surrounding us, we ordered it. The 16-oz meatball is made with fresh-ground imperial Wagyu, Italian sausage, and veal. It is served with whipped ricotta and marinara. We shared the tender, toothsome meatball among us and sopped up the sauce with garlic bread. $34 -Semolina Sesame Garlic Bread: Addison highly recommended this garlic bread to pair with The Meatball and sipping on our Cabernet blend wine. The lightly grilled-toasted loaf was served with three dipping sauces (marinara, basil pesto, & Gorgonzola dolce). $18 -Zitoni Genovese: braised short rib, sweet onions, pecorino Romano. I received a generous portion of Neapolitan or Sicilian zitoni pasta (larger ziti tubes) and an intensely flavorful, tomato-wine-based, fall-apart tender, slow-braised short ribs ragù. This comfort-food pasta dish was so rich and filling that I could barely eat half the portion and ended up bringing home leftovers. $33 -Faroe Island Salmon Oreganato: My husband cut into the salmon filet, which had a light crisp coating of breadcrumbs and revealed the fillet's tender medium-rare doneness. The rich, buttery-tasting salmon filet sat atop a melange of sautéed vegetables and was dressed with a lemon, white wine, and garlic butter sauce. My husband jokingly said he could feel his heart health improving with each bite. $39 The rest of my family ordered their own entrees, and when we were nearly finished with our meals, we decided to share a dessert. We ordered the luscious 20 Layer Chocolate Cake ($29), and each of us commented on the "decadence" of chocolate, peanut butter, and mascarpone. During our dining experience, Addison informed us that LAVO Los Angeles would sadly be closing at the end of the year. We were happy to have supported this restaurant, and it was great to see so many others show their support during the Holidays.
