The young lady who took my order today was a little ray of sunshine. I've been here plenty of times but she made this visit stand out. I really enjoy their Apples and Brie sandwich but I think it's best on sourdough rather than the walnut raisin bread that I tried today and is $1 extra. I enjoyed a dirty chai today but overall their expresso drinks always satisfy. They have a good amount of inside and outside seating right on Magnolia Blvd, surrounded by plenty of cute little shops to browse after. There is plenty of free parking on the side streets. I think the pricing for the drinks are average but food prices are a bit high..then again all pricing is high these days. Love this little gem of a place. It's always a pleasure to come here. The staff is incredible kind and hospitable. The atmosphere really speaks volumes. It's clean and roomy, easy to place your order and find a seat. The Burbank community really supports small business, especially when they deliver excellent food and excellent customer service. I'm not someone who holds grudges or lets a bad day ruin my experience, but my visit here today was frustrating from start to finish. From the moment we walked in, the woman taking our order was cold and moody. I ordered a chopped salad with a green iced tea, and my boyfriend ordered a sandwich with a side salad and a matcha. When they realized they were out of the salad, instead of informing me (since I was the one who ordered it), she called my boyfriend over and told him. He assumed she was referring to his side salad, so he quickly chose a substitute, thinking it was for his plate. When our food arrived, I was given the wrong salad due to the mix-up. I politely explained that I didn't order this and that there had been some confusion. Instead of helping me right away, the staff became defensive and dismissive. Worse, they began talking about me behind the counter, making me feel extremely uncomfortable. Rather than taking responsibility and resolving the issue, they kept insisting that they had told my boyfriend--when in reality, they should have clarified with me, the person who actually ordered the dish. The lack of attention to detail and poor customer service made for a truly disappointing experience. They did end up making me a different salad but I felt like I had to fight for it which was very stressful. I hope management takes this feedback seriously because no one should feel uncomfortable simply trying to get the meal they ordered. read more

Really homie and popular cafe in Burbank! It does get pretty busy at prime lunchtime so your food may take awhile to come out. I got an oat milk latte here and it was huge lol! I also got the housemade granola, which was decent. It wasn't anything to write home about, and I thought the apples were a bit too sour of an addition. I like my granola SWEET. The yogurt was also just normal greek yogurt, so it feels like something I could've just whipped up at home. Didn't make it in time for breakfast (which stops being served at 12pm). I come here when I want to have a good conversation with a friend or spend some time alone. There is street parking, no parking lot for this location. I get the Italian hero sandwich or the egg & cheese breakfast sandwich. I don't know what kind of cheese they put on that but it is amazing! Normally with my Italian Hero I prefer sourdough bread or ciabatta, but I forgot to say that this time around. Don't be like me, ask for the ciabatta. They also have a really great assortment of teas. I've never had the coffee here. I'm sure it's wonderful. There is seating in the patio as well as indoor seating. This is my favorite coffee spot in Burbank. The staff are so friendly and the food is always really good. It's a great spot to study at or just to talk with friends and people watch. They have fantastic coffee that they serve and every latte or cup of coffee I've had from there has been amazing. Always a pleasure but seating is a hot commodity and scarce. A lot of people PARK at their table The food is consistently good and their baked goods are fabulous. The coffee drinks are also consistently good. No matter what I order I can count on it being the same quality the next time which is not the case for the chain coffee shops or even the smaller ones. After being away from the area for a while, we went back were greeted with a "wow, haven't seen you in a while..." and a big smile. NICE! There is a guy who seems pretty moody and gives off vibes like customers are peasants beneath his notice--I've seen eye rolls over customer questions-- but overall no visit disappoints. At this point, we were getting hangry and needed coffee first. We found Romancing the Bean, we like going to the small independent shops, so we thought we would give this one a try. One of our ways of deciding if we like something is by just having a latte. If the latte is good, it sets the tone. Fortunately for Romancing the Bean, their latte checked off our box. I ordered my latte with oat milk, while my husband had it with regular milk. We both agreed our lattes were smooth and very good. We decided to split a breakfast burrito as well. I thought it was fine, but my husband thought it could use bacon because he's a carnivore. We were all over the fruit, berries become a competition if it's fresh. The decor is really nice and the restrooms are for paying customers. There's limited indoor seating and outdoor seating available. The pastries looked very good, but I didn't venture there. This Coffee shop Cafe had a really neat Vibe and I had a quick coffee. We were "thrifting" in the area and I had stumbled onto this hip Coffee house. I had saw a lot of tempting desserts but stayed with my White Mocha coffee. They had a lot of different records for purchase if you had a record player or a fan of Classic music. Coffee was good and it also seemed like a cool place to grab a quick bite or chill with some friends. It was also a perfect environment to work and study since it did not seem too loud. I enjoy Romancing the Bean because it's one of the few sit-down places in the area. They have both indoor and outdoor seating, although I def prefer outside. Their seating inside is weird. They have some normally placed tables and chairs up front and then one long high back bench with small tables placed along it. Sitting there can get really cramped, which I am not a fan of. Really good coffee and tea at this place, though! Right now, they even have a chagacinno, meaning mushroom coffee! My friend ordered it and it was really good. Kind of a smoky, sweet flavor and very smooth. Pretty good tea selection, too, although they were out of a few last time I went. The food is definitely hit or miss here. Definitely try the cakes and pastries as I happen to know a lot of them come from Cake Monkey Bakery, which I love. I also realllly like the quiches they have. Last time I had the mushroom kale one and it was heavenly. Very thick buttery crust and oh so flavorful. I savored every bite. However, I have had some of their wraps and honestly they were forgettable. Not great, not bad, just meh. Counter service like Porto's , so you order and they bring it out to you. All the staff were pleasant last time I went but I def get what some people have said in their reviews that sometimes their people seem a little off. Nice single stall bathrooms that don't require a code are very much appreciated as well. Positives first. Ambiance is super cute, it is much bigger than I expected and looks like it would be a good place to work/study. We got the black and white iced latte and the cherry bomb croissant muffin which were both delicious. The other pastries looked great too, would definitely come back for them and the coffee. Now the breakfast burrito on the other hand was way overpriced. It was tasty but a small burrito for $18 and I literally laughed at the "side of fruit". Honestly, saying that something comes with a side of fruit and giving a single raspberry, blackberry, blueberry and banana slice feels insulting. Looking back at past photos it looks like they used to give a more normal amount, and I understand that times are tough right now, but they already increased the prices. If they aren't going to provide a normal side of fruit, they should at least remove it from the menu so it's a surprise treat instead of a let down. read more
