One of the worst coffee shop experiences I've had in years. We came on a Sunday afternoon -- all the regular seats were taken, and the only option left was a narrow bench by the window with no back support. Not exactly the kind of place you want to relax in. We ordered a salmon bagel (asked for it on a croissant), a warmed almond croissant, a cappuccino, and an iced latte. I also asked if they had anything less sweet or not pastry-based -- the staff just stared and offered me a plain croissant. That was their best idea. Despite having salads on the menu, no one even mentioned them. They handed us a little table marker so they could bring our order outside. Five minutes later, they brought the salmon croissant -- on a cracked plate. And if you're expecting fresh cucumber with your lox, like in any decent version of this dish, forget it. Not here. Then came 15 full minutes of nothing. No drinks. No almond croissant. I went inside and found everything just sitting there on the bar -- cold. When I asked about it, the staff casually said the table marker was "just for food from the kitchen." No one explained that beforehand. Funny enough, I had visited just a few days earlier -- and back then, they brought my entire order, including drinks, directly to the table. So either the rules change randomly, or the service depends on who you are. Either way, it's a bad look. When I asked about the almond croissant, the staff member looked completely lost, didn't say a word, and silently went to microwave it. No apology. No acknowledgment. When it finally showed up, it was dry and clearly reheated too late. The cappuccino foam had collapsed into a sad, soupy mess. Even if fresh, it had no structure -- nothing close to what a real cappuccino should be. The coffee was cold and bitter. The almond croissant? Came here on a Saturday morning at 9 am and it was surprisingly wasn't as busy as I thought; come 11 am, that's when I noticed the crowd showing up! Very spacious place inside, huge menu that takes over the wall behind the register. I wish they had more outdoor seating, it's limited and we were lucky to get a table! LOTS of seating inside though. I was here last weekend, for a girls' day with my bestie. I ended up getting a cold brew with caramel and oat milk-- with COFFEE ICE CUBES! OMG, it was SO GOOD! And the girl who took my order was so incredibly kind, and we had a great conversation while I was ordering. Just wonderful service! I will def be back here again, just for that experience alone! I have been going here for years and their food and service are always on point. My favorites are their chai latte with oat milk, the cocoa oatmeal for breakfast, and the chicken curry sandwich for lunch. It might seem pricey to some, but it's definitely worth the splurge for me. Also a tip to coffee lovers- they have coffee ice cubes! It's a great little spot for anyone who wants to work there as they have wifi available, but tables vary in size/space. Seating can be difficult to get during peak hours, but off hours there is plenty. It's also good if you want to bring a dog with you because they have outdoor seating. Two people who are together take over 4 top table because they want charging outlets for their computers and sit next to each other and wasting two other chairs. There were so many people who were doing that. And employees are not courteous and don't do anything when customers take up double space. The stars for the drink are also unwrapped, so if are a straw-sipper, I would recommend bringing your own. The ambiance itself is interesting. Tables line the walls and edges, and there is a quite a bit of standing space. In contrast, sitting at the tables is a cramped experience. I visit cafes on the edges of LA are a nice escape from the busier, noisier life in the city, and I have to admit that I didn't get that here even with noise cancelling headphones. The most interesting and useful decor here was the silver-rimmed black-and-white clock that blends into the wall, so you're always aware of the 90-minute limit seating policy. WiFi? It's available, but the password is a synonym for "relax" and finding the WiFi connection is anything but that. We love this place and usually come here to read on the weekends. We love that they have a beautiful public restroom, we love that there's always a table no matter how busy and we love the food here. When we initially visited for the first time it was solely for coffee and weren't too impressed. Coffee here is okay, but they offer a wide variety of drink options. But the sandwiches here are TOO good. Food is such good quality, tastes fresh, lots of bold and strong flavors. I've never had a chicken curry sandwich anywhere else and it's GOOD. It is usually very busy especially on weekends and sometimes parking is impossible, but if you can try to stop by. I'm not someone who holds grudges or lets a bad day ruin my experience, but my visit here today was frustrating from start to finish. From the moment we walked in, the woman taking our order was cold and moody. I ordered a chopped salad with a green iced tea, and my boyfriend ordered a sandwich with a side salad and a matcha. When they realized they were out of the salad, instead of informing me (since I was the one who ordered it), she called my boyfriend over and told him. He assumed she was referring to his side salad, so he quickly chose a substitute, thinking it was for his plate. When our food arrived, I was given the wrong salad due to the mix-up. I politely explained that I didn't order this and that there had been some confusion. Instead of helping me right away, the staff became defensive and dismissive. Worse, they began talking about me behind the counter, making me feel extremely uncomfortable. Rather than taking responsibility and resolving the issue, they kept insisting that they had told my boyfriend--when in reality, they should have clarified with me, the person who actually ordered the dish. The lack of attention to detail and poor customer service made for a truly disappointing experience. They did end up making me a different salad but I felt like I had to fight for it which was very stressful. I'd honestly never come here, but my friend suggests it occasionally. It has so much potential but is always a let-down for me. The food is pretty good, but it's insanely over-priced. $18 for a Breakfast Burrito (with a 2 oz. side of fruit). $5.75 for an 'add-shot' flat white. I am assuming they are covering expenses for a fairly large staff, and could support that more if said staff actually did a good job. They are friendly enough, but they are so disinterested that it's almost comical. There hasn't been a single time that I have been in that they were not having conversations behind the counter and inevitably getting orders wrong. They are simply not interested in delivering great customer service. I understand that it's basically just a coffee shop, but I think it's reasonable to expect a little more when spending $25 for a burrito and a coffee. Finally, the ambiance is fine. The young lady who took my order today was a little ray of sunshine. I've been here plenty of times but she made this visit stand out. I really enjoy their Apples and Brie sandwich but I think it's best on sourdough rather than the walnut raisin bread that I tried today and is $1 extra. I enjoyed a dirty chai today but overall their expresso drinks always satisfy. They have a good amount of inside and outside seating right on Magnolia Blvd, surrounded by plenty of cute little shops to browse after. There is plenty of free parking on the side streets. This is my favorite coffee spot in Burbank. The staff are so friendly and the food is always really good. It's a great spot to study at or just to talk with friends and people watch. They have fantastic coffee that they serve and every latte or cup of coffee I've had from there has been amazing. Really homie and popular cafe in Burbank! It does get pretty busy at prime lunchtime so your food may take awhile to come out. I got an oat milk latte here and it was huge lol! I also got the housemade granola, which was decent. It wasn't anything to write home about, and I thought the apples were a bit too sour of an addition. I like my granola SWEET. The yogurt was also just normal greek yogurt, so it feels like something I could've just whipped up at home. Didn't make it in time for breakfast (which stops being served at 12pm). Normally with my Italian Hero I prefer sourdough bread or ciabatta, but I forgot to say that this time around. Don't be like me, ask for the ciabatta. Always a pleasure but seating is a hot commodity and scarce. A lot of people PARK at their table The food is consistently good and their baked goods are fabulous. The coffee drinks are also consistently good. No matter what I order I can count on it being the same quality the next time which is not the case for the chain coffee shops or even the smaller ones. After being away from the area for a while, we went back were greeted with a "wow, haven't seen you in a while..." and a big smile. NICE! There is a guy who seems pretty moody and gives off vibes like customers are peasants beneath his notice--I've seen eye rolls over customer questions-- but overall no visit disappoints.
