If I could give this place 0. I would. These guys started out seeming real nice and lovely. I went in for to get something else checked and found out my cv axel was breaking. They repaired it, and I go back a few weeks later to make sure everything Is good and my transaxle seal was leaking and the mechanic determined they tore it during the original repair. Everything seems fine. 3 months later and less than 3000 miles later, I take it to a different shop to get an oil change, and they find my transaxle seal DIDNT FIT correctly and was too big so it's still leaking because Rockies shoved the seal in. THEN my cv axel is broken AGAIN, BECAUSE THEY PUT THE WRONG PART IN. When I went to the new shop (sister shop), they ordered the correct part and you can SEE the difference and why it didn't work. The new shop tries to get Rockies to pay for the difference because it's obviously NEGLIGENCE and I've taken it back a third time now, and they refuse. The reason for refusal is "Were not losing money on this deal." Not even an apology. Rockys was also rude to the new shop and their employees. The new shop talked them into half the difference and the new shop payed for half of the repair because they let so bad about the situation and and the sheer lack of quality. Let me be clear, the leak could have caused me to loose gears and eventually my Transmition. The Cv axel is just plain dangerous. Please do not go here, they don't care about you, or your safety. read more

I went in for a safety/emissions check because they had a coupon that says: "on the spot renewal plus complimentary inspection with purchase of emissions." They did not do the "complimentary inspection" and still wanted the $10 service fee for renewal. Basically, they gave out a fraudulent coupon and honored no piece of it. I called them out on it, told them we were new customers giving them a try because of the coupon, and it meant nothing to them. Their customer service, especially towards new customers, is highly lacking. If they lie on their advertising, I would guess this is one of those dishonest car places that tries to get away with anything they can. read more

GET A SECOND OPINION!! After getting a 700.00 estimate from them, and some quick repairs done, I decided to look around for a better price. I found out that some of the things they said needed to be repaired where actually in good condition! I ended up getting my truck fixed for 150.00. As for the quick repairs they did, they charged me 337.00. I remember the amount because it was at Christmas time and my budget for Christmas was 350. I was heartbroken. When I showed my invoice from Rocky's to another mechanic he was in disbelief. I was grossly overcharged. I can see why people think this is a good place...the whole time they were taking advantage of me they were very nice about it. read more

These guys were awesome! A few months ago they did my safety and emissions and they were friendly and helpful and priced fairly. Yesterday, my husband and I took in a car we were looking to buy for a pre-purchase inspection. We did not schedule an appointment, but they still got us taken care of in less than an hour! The guy was great (I wish I had written down his name). Instead of just handing us the report, he took time to really talk to us about what they had found, how much it would cost to be fixed, and a few pros and cons to buying the car. There was supposed to be a $30 fee (which is cheap) but the guy just told us not to worry about it and sent us on our way. I'd honestly give them 6 Stars if I could, because they went above and beyond! read more

The first time I came here for an alignment. Afterwards, it almost drove worse than it did before. I had to bring it back in for them to fix it. I thought I'd give them another try and brought my car in for an emission inspection, but they never called me to tell me it was ready. I've just not been super impressed both times I've used them. I visited this shop in August of 2015 for an alignment. Since I left the shop, my vehicle still pulled to the right. I brought it back a few days later to have it looked at again. I was told it was the tire and I should have it replaced. After having the tire replaced, the car still pulled right so I brought it in a third time only to be told they could not get it fully aligned. I discovered the issue was the trail arm bushings. After calling to see if my car would still be under warranty after having the replaced, I was told, No! It would mess up the alignment and I would have to be charged again. The big question on my mind is, why was there no pre inspection done on my car before the alignment process began? Needless to say, I am pretty upset by the process and I won't be returning. read more

My car wouldn't start for a couple days, and I had heard some good things about Rocky's, so I asked them to take a look at it. The checked it out, tuned it up, got it running, and explained to me that it all looked fine, there were no serious problems, and it should keep running just fine. They were great to work with, took care of me quickly even though I had no appointment, and then after all their time and help, they wouldn't accept a dime for it. Exceptional and honest service. I'd give them 10 stars if I could. My friends and I were heading home to California from a hunting trip in Colorado when we had a blow-out on our trailer on the 15 freeway. After pulling over and realizing the tire that blew wasn't necessarily our issue, it was the problem with the axle that caused the blow-out that was our biggest issue. The first 4 places we called all told us they couldn't help. By the way, this was 4:30 on a Friday afternoon. I called Rocky's and to my pleasant surprise the answer was "of course we can help, come on by." Over the next 2.5 hours they literally bent over backwards. Troubleshooting and fabricating parts to get us back on the road. The wife of the manager even came by wondering why her husband wasn't home yet considering they'd closed an hour earlier and were still working on our trailer!! To top it off, they gave us a considerable discount on the 3 tires we needed!!!! Unreal service and total restoration in humanity!!!!!! Thank you guys read more

A Car inspection nightmare. All i needed was a safety inspection. They failed the car for excessive play in the inner tie rods. Okay, no problem. I order the best german parts i can find and take them to another alignment specialty shop for install. Alignment shop calls me up to see if i really want these new parts installed since the old tie rods were not too bad in their opinion. I tell them to just go ahead and put the new ones on anyway. I don't mess around with tires, brakes, steering components, or ball joints. I always buy the best quality new parts for these critical areas of the car. They also failed the car for not having a muffler installed. It is a turbo diesel sedan and the turbo itself makes the car very quiet. It was very quiet at idle, under full acceleration, you name it. You might even say the turbocharger MUFFLES SOUND, but no, they insisted i install another muffler. So i spend hours fabricating a new rear portion of the exhaust system with a muffler and return for a retest. The car is a tiny bit quieter now with a muffler installed. It made almost no acoustical difference but it did consume a lot of time, some money, and void the lifetime warranty on my $800 all stainless steel exhaust system. Most of the noise from this car comes from the engine itself, the diesel injection process, not the exhaust. The front is louder than the back with or without a muffler on. . They fail it again, for a tiny exhaust leak from a exhaust clamp needing to be re positioned. I explain how i spent all weekend working on that exhaust system and how i could easily fix that small leak when i got home, but they wouldn't budge. At this point i got mad at them. Then they tell i have to fix yet another problem before they will pass it. They want a brake indicator light on the dash to turn off, that was never noted on the initial inspection. This light has been on for all 9 years that i have owned the car and not even the VW dealer can turn it off. No shop has ever mentioned it being a problem before, nor have any shops failed my car for the exhaust system not having a muffler. Do they resent me for not using their shop for the recommended repairs? Do they just dislike German diesel cars? You decide. They turned a non issue into a giant hassle just to follow the exact letter of the law. A law that entails 86 pages of requirements, and these guys know every single detail and will fail you for it. I don't blame this shop entirely for this behavior, part of the problem is in how insanely strict the Utah IM/SI regulations and penalties are. Can't they just keep it simple, like lights need to work, good tires, good brakes, not too loud, stuff like that? My car turns and stops better than new and is still getting failed for stupid technicalities. read more

I ordered some tires on line and had them shipped to Rocky's in Spanish Fork. The online company ended up shipping them to the wrong location, Rocky's in Orem. I had the Spanish Fork store call the Orem store and arrangements were made for the owner of the Orem store to bring the tires to Spanish that night. The next morning I arrived at Rocky's in Spanish, and to my disappointment, no tires. I then ended up heading over to Orem. They were nice there and immediately went to work. The installation time was average. When finished, I went out to my car an noticed my gas port door was open. I shut it, got in my car, started it and noticed immediately it idled terrible. With some throttle the engine smoothed out. Thinking it must just be a fluke thing I headed off to work. All that day I noticed that car had trouble idling, and my check engine light even came on later in the day. That night when I arrived home I took out my scan tool in attempt to read the diagnostic trouble code(s) that caused the light to come on. That tool found no issues. This morning, prior to heading to work, I thought to lift to hood and just do a once over, not really expecting to find anything, since it was just tires I had replaced at Rocky's. Right away I saw the problem. Rock's had unscrewed my oil fill cap and left it dangling there on top of the engine. I screwed it back on and the car has ran perfect ever since. Why they messed with the fuel door and oil cap is beyond me. I hired them to replace my tires, nothing more. Please be aware. I don't know if this was an attempt to have me bring the vehicle back for service or what. Needless to say I will not be visiting Rocky's again. read more

I recently moved to Orem. I needed to put tires on my 2nd car. I 'shopped' several tire retailers. They gave me fair quotes for the tires I was interested in. I made several phone calls with questions and was always treated respectfully... "sure appreciate ya calling". The size I wanted was not in-stock. Trevor ordered the tires and they arrived as promised. Everything went as promised. Joe was knowledgeable about my '93 Mercedes which made the job go perfectly. Sky's personality is great and I really appreciated his, and everyone's, focus and professionalism. The price was right, tires are balanced... no problem... what more can you want.
