Customer service here is terrible. From the moment I walked in, I wasn't greeted and was immediately spoken to rudely. I explained exactly what I needed and even mentioned I've worked in the tire industry for 2 years, yet I was still questioned and pressured on my own specifications. I waited over an hour for a simple flat tire replacement. During that time, I asked an employee to grab something from my car he "forgot," and I had to ask again later as there were multiple times he wasn't even busy. After all that waiting, they finally brought my car in, only to refuse service due to a stripped lug nut, That part is understandable. What's not understandable is them trying to pressure me into still buying the tire even after refusing to install it and wasting my time. When I pushed to cancel everything, the "manager" told me he could technically still charge me for installation since the tire was already on the rim, and that I'd have to pay for installation even if I didn't get the tire but he was going to "let it slide." That's not how you handle customers. To top it off, when I went outside to get my car, that same "manager" came up holding a broken plastic piece from my door handle and said, "sorry, I broke it can you take it out for me." No accountability, no real apology. At that point, it felt like the situation was handled out of ego, and frustration rather than professionalism, especially after I pushed back on being charged, not surprised. If customer service matters at all, this damage should be addressed and paid for. I won't be coming back. read more

This link of the Discount Tire chain has the best service that I found. I've been in a long time Discount Tire Customer, in multiple locations across Utah and Colorado . This Orem location is prompt and when they say it's gonna be an hour - they are spot on. Their service is wonderful. They explain everything thoroughly. Not sure what else you could wish for in a tire repair place. Although they don't offer the exact same tires as Costco - I have compared prices and find that discount tire holds their own as far as value in pricing. They also can get tires in same day everyday. Costco is more of an assembly line. Discount Tire seems to care about the individual and loves to explain what's going on with your tires They pretty much have a customer for life in me.... Went in for a free tire inspection, was informed of how soon I'd need new tires. I had already done my research so I knew the best price and place to go and Jason and Brandon made sure to price match (if not better) and get me and my kids out in a reasonable time. My entire visit lasted less than an hour, they catered to me and my kids, were professional, and went beyond my expectations. They make sure to connect with customers and I left more than satisfied. I had a 10/10 experience with Josh at Discount Tire today. I usually have to mentally brace myself and prepare for attempted upsells and listening to sales pitches for fixes that are a luxury but I don't NEED right now. There is NOTHING that turns me off more than a pushy, fake friendly salesman but I needed a tire. Josh made the entire experience easy, straightforward, lighthearted and I felt completely taken care of. I was there for 3 hours because of my own poor planning and walking in during the lunch rush; but the wait was totally fine with me since I was taken care of. Josh knew that I couldn't afford more than what I came in for. After I paid, he mentioned genuinely that a different tire on my car needs to be replaced when I can afford it. Had my tire sensors replaced by discount tire, and on the way home the light came back on. I set an appointment and came back in after a few days, and when they came to look at my tire sensors they said that they couldn't read my sensors? They told me I need to take it to the dealership and that it was a problem with the car. They didn't try to change the signal, said they couldn't do a refund since it was done at another discount tire, and said they wouldn't replace them. I didn't even argue as I felt like it was them being lazy on a busy day and wanting it to be a different locations problem even though this location was closer. Set a different appointment at another discount tire, and they changed the signal and had it fixed in 10 minutes. Either the employee doesn't know what he's doing//talking about, or was being lazy. Either way, poor service, lied to or have no idea what they're talking about, and it could've ended in me paying hundreds of dollars at a dealership for a part that didn't need to be fixed. read more

Came in for an alignment on a 2019 VW Jetta. Was told my front desk person that after they connected car to computer, computer printed out a list of requirements needed before an alignment could be performed. List included items such as fuel tank must be full, spare wheel and vehicle toolbox must be in vehicle, windshield fluid must be full, etc. nothing mechanical and all unnecessary. No other Discount Tire location or other kind of shop has required anything prior to alignment on this car. When I brought that up, they refused to do the alignment still. No resolutions or alternatives offered. Very disappointed in this location. read more

We were heading out of Salt Lake City for a long 8 hour road trip. We hit something in the road that caused our tire to lose air quickly. We were able to limp our vehicle to Discount Tire in Orem on State Street. They had just opened and had been able to work us into their very busy morning schedule. While waiting for our car/ tire repair, another citizens vehicle broke down in the middle of the road. I wanted to help but needed some additional hands to push! When I asked if they could help me push the persons vehicle out of the road they were quick to stop working and help. Excellent kind staff fixed our tire at no cost. Wife ran over a pice of metal that was a small triangle shape. I was out of town so I couldn't look at it unfortunately. she took it here where they removed the metal then told her that the tire was not repairable. And then quoted her $1300 for 4 new tires. When I got back in town I went back to look at the tire to see why this small piece of metal made the wheel non usable and it looked like they took a grinder to the inside of the tire to remove the metal. I took it to two more shops to get opinions and they both told me that the previous shop (discount tire) had definitely used a tool incorrectly and causes irreversible damage to the tire. I called them to see what happened from their perspective and they were no help, not nice, and basically told me "good luck". read more

I brought my mothers car in that had a flat in 1 in 4 tires purchased from here less than 2 years ago. The manager Justin told me that tires were meant to last two years and they needed to be replaced. 4/32 was the measurement The warranty she purchased covered them for DOUBLE the milage and for 5 years she had put on them so they covered 1/4 the price of the tire. The manager Justin was not good to work with. When I told him no Tires are not meant to last 2 years they are meant to last 5-7 years depending on milage and not to lie to or disinform me he immediately made a scene started raising his voice at me. We will not be returning nor recommend anyone buy continental control contact tires. read more

I had such a good experience with all the employees at discount tire. I knew that at least a couple of my tires needed replacement, but it was my first time getting it done so I wasn't sure what to expect and wasn't sure about all of the tires. The employee I spoke with first came out to do an initial inspection and was so honest and direct- he showed me how he was measuring the tread and how 2 of them were still great and 2 would need replacement. Then we went back inside to choose the replacement tires. I had already found a specific type online and he talked to me about the pros and cons of those and ultimately recommended a different type based on the snow capabilities that ended up being cheaper than the ones I came in thinking I would buy! So he ordered them in from Salt Lake and set up an appointment for me to come in the next day and get them put on. The actual tire replacement/rotation took less than an hour, and the installation fee was only $21 per tire. There were minimal additional fees (less than $10) and the employee was able to explain the warrantee really well. read more

I'm disappointed in the service that I got from Discount Tire on 10/10/20. The day before, I went to purchase the tires and get an appointment. My service advisor (Jacob?) was great. He helped me narrow down the right tire and made sure they were going to be there the following day. Lastly, he got me set up for an appointment the next day. On the following day, I arrived a few minutes before my appointment time but ended up waiting 15 minutes before being seen by a service advisor in the car check-in line. They had me park the car and come inside to check in. What is the point of the check in line if you are going to have the customer go inside and check in anyway. I would have parked, gone in, and still been seen ahead of the people waiting in the car check-in line. After waiting a half hour, they took my car in and began changing the tires. The people were professional. It seemed like they were slammed, so this doesn't reflect badly on their service. From an operations stand point, I don't understand the concept of an appointment time if you can walk in and get seen right away. The logistics of the whole appointment left a pretty bad taste in my mouth after having such great interactions with the people. read more

An out of town guest was staying at my home in Salt Lake and was driving my car in Orem when it got a flat tire near Hole in the Road Auto Mechanic. I was in St. George and couldn't help her l, but told her I have tire insurance through Discount Tire. She called this location and told them my car's license plate, my name and phone number, etc. They were kind to bring a new tire to her (charged me $20 per my tire replacement policy) for the other mechanic to install. They checked and filled the rest of my tires free of charge. This all happened within minutes. I'm so grateful they are a wonderful company with service-oriented employees. Who needs AAA? beware the newest upsell. went in today to get a free tire fix. left with $80's worth of aftermarket lug nuts. here is how it went down. I knew I had a screw in my tire. they were quick to take me in. within 5 minutes they brought me a strange looking socket with what I assume was my lug nut but maybe not. they handed it to me to see if I could pull the two apart. that was weird. then they said your lug nuts are swollen. to fix your tire we need to replace the lug nuts. I was definitely over a barrel. ok fine I said. no mention of price. they ran back 20 min later tire fixed and when I go to pay $76 and tax. I asked if ever lug nut was swollen? yes. amazing. they changed all 24 lug nuts. so here is the problem. I don't have a torque lug wrench and oem lug nuts have an indicator when they are properly torqued that is now gone. did I pay yes. congrats. will I ever be back highly unlikely. enjoy the $20 you made off me guys I hope it's worth it. read more

Great, no-pressure customer service yesterday when I bought a new set of snow tires. (Interacted with very friendly & helpful employees Cody and Chris) I'm wary of add-on fees and services but decided to spring for the extra insurance that covered repair/replacement and labor... So glad I did. One fell victim to a road hazard less than an hour after I picked up my car. I called the store right at closing time (on a Friday) and Zed picked up the phone. He was pleasant, sympathetic, and offered to take care of it immediately. Couldn't take him up on that unfortunately, because I was much closer to home than the store and the tire was totally blown out. My husband was already on his way down the street to help me put on the spare. So Zed checked to ensure that they had a replacement tire in stock (they had ONE left. Apparently January is the end of snow tire buying season so I got lucky and didn't have to wait for one to be ordered). He made an appointment for me today (Saturday). There was a short line in the lobby like yesterday, but this team seems to be good about moving in and out of the garage so that nobody has to wait very long. The lobby is clean and offers ample comfortable seating and some bar-style desk space if you need it while you wait. There are current magazines to read and a cooler with complimentary water bottles. Chris checked me in and everyone on the team continued to be great throughout this process, including my last interaction when Davis came into the lobby to give me my keys, reminding me to come back once a month to have my free air pressure check. A Shout Out To Discount Tire of Orem. Somewhere yesterday I got a giant framing nail in my tire. Was not very happy. (Although he may or may not be responsible, I am blaming the doofus in a big Dodge Truck who parked so close to me at Jdawgs in Provo I had to climb in through the passenger door.) At any rate, as I priced a replacement, I discovered that Michelin is a French word for "Really Expensive." Discount offered me a pretty good solution. For about , they got me a new tire and road hazard warranty on the 4 tires.. If it ever happens again, it will be covered.
