Long stories, but within the last few months they told one of my sons his truck's engine was bad and needed to be replaced (it ended up being nothing after a trip to an honest local mechanic), another son was told he had a huge $$$ repair needed (again, totally wrong, mechanic verified), they haven't been able to do emissions in months (broken), and now they told me if i get an oil change, i can't bring my own oil, so my oil change was going to be $96 instead of like $30 or whatever it used to be. I came in on a Saturday knowing it would take a while. What I didn't expect was that five people who came after me would end up leaving before me. I spent three hours here to get an oil change, and watched no less than 5 cars which came after me leave before me. Not only that, when I said something to the person when I was checking out, his response was "Well I was on emissions today, so it wasn't me". Do not go here! We went in for an oil change and were shocked by the outrageous pricing. My last oil change at this location cost me $80, but this time they charged me $120 with no clear explanation for the price increase. On top of that, they gave me a report claiming my brakes and brake fluid needed to be replaced--despite the fact that I had them changed just a month ago. They also showed me a "dirty" air filter, which was suspicious because they pulled the same stunt on my husband during his last visit. When we got home, we checked the filter ourselves and found it perfectly clean. It's clear that this place prioritizes scamming customers over honest service. Was service fast? Sort of. I asked them to change the engine air filter, which added time. I understand that. Was it worth the price? Not sure! It came out to $135 with the addition of the air filter. And that was WITH a $15 off coupon. The service checklist said they washed the windshield. I can tell you for a fact that they did not because it looked exactly the same as before I brought the car in. If they didn't do the windshield but claimed they did, I'm scared to ask what else they didn't do. I feel silly paying nearly $140 -- a price that allegedly included a quick little wash of the windshield -- and not knowing if they did the things they should have. I have also been to Grease Monkey locations in the past. While I haven't been to this exact location before, they still had to ask for my name and number and address, and I'm not sure if that happens every single time or not. I've been a loyal customer of Grease Monkey for years, but after today, I'm officially done. The level of customer service has tanked recently, and today was the final straw. At my last visit, I was shown my dirty air filter and specifically told them to replace it. Simple enough, right? Fast forward to today I find out there's no air filter in my car at all and the compartment was just left open. So either they never replaced it, took it out and forgot to put in a new one, or just plain don't care. Either way, it's unacceptable. When I brought this to the manager's attention, he was a complete jerk. He talked to me like I was a clueless idiot condescending, dismissive, and rude. It was obvious he had zero respect for me and treated me like I didn't know anything, simply because I'm a woman. I left angry, insulted, and wondering how anyone like that is in a leadership role. The only reason I'm giving even one star is because of Alex he was the one bright spot in this disaster. He was polite, professional, and genuinely helpful. If everyone there treated customers like Alex does, this would be a very different review. Unfortunately, the toxic attitude from management completely overshadows any good. I've been coming to this Grease Monkey for about 6 years with my 3 cars and today one of the technicians(Tyrell) tried to scare me into changing to full synthetic by telling me "if anything goes wrong with your oil change from here on out, it's not covered by us." 15 minute emission inspection. Wow!!! I pulled up to get my emissions completed and was greeted after waiting a few minutes. The person who came out, walked out with a bag and paper. They were both used for what I'd assumed they'd be used for- a paper cover my drivers side floor and a bag to go over my drivers seat. I was impressed and really appreciated the extra thoughtfulness. The waiting area of Grease Monkey had a popcorn machine and soda machine for customers. There was also a small play area for kids. When my car was completed, the employee who assisted me, called me to the counter. The employee was very nice and friendly. He rang me up quickly and I was given a coupon for a car wash to use at the car wash next door. The coupon did not need to be used right away. It was $40 for the emissions inspection with a free car wash afterwards. I will definitely be back. read more

Darn it if the popcorn machine was broken today. That bummed out the four boys who came with me. But, at least there's soda. I feel like this station is a little understaffed as the last two times I have been here it took a lot longer than I am used to. I normally go to the Grease Monkey in Pleasant Grove. The perk of coming to this one is they give you coins for the car wash that you can use if you want to wash a different day. And it is a great car wash. The manager was very attentive to my needs. Such an awful experience. I dropped my car off for an oil change and for emissions. We got distracted doing Saturday projects and realized a couple hours later that we never heard from them about the car being done, and they had closed 30 minutes prior. We drove over and my car was locked in the bay. I never received a call or text saying that my car was done, or that they were closing and a reminder to come get my car. We went first thing in the morning to get my car and their only response was "huh weird" no apology or explanation. They then told us that they didn't do the emissions and we'd have to come back later. Then another employee went on a very rude and condescending tangent that the last several times they've changed my oil they've filled my car with the wrong viscosity even though nobody had ever told me this. He went on that my car is going to have issues and said he wouldn't change it with the proper oil. I ended up having to just walk out to end the conversation that they started. Wonderful guys who saved our vacation! We had a problem with our oil and was leaking everywhere! Problem is, we didn't know we HAD an oil problem til we were driving away with a packed van ready for a week long vacation!! We had to be able to drive all the way to Texas with no car problems and this was a BIG one!! Even AFTER HRS when they were closed I emailed them and called and left a message for an "SOS!!". 2 wonderful respectful men came to our home, fixed the problem and then lead us back to their garage to clean up the undercarriage and oil sprays on the car. They helped us (late at night!), fixed us up, cleaned us up, and paid us back for our previous oil change (more even) and gave us some free car washing coupons!! We were able to get back on the road that same night and haven't had a problem since! It's one thing to give good service when everything goes right, it's a totally another thing to give good service when things go wrong! That's character! That's when you can witness REAL honesty and generosity!! They really CARE about their customers and their vehicles! And that deserves loyalty and gratitude! It was initially quoted at $60 for the type of oil we were looking to put in the car, but the guy was nice and knocked $10 off the price - small amount overall but I appreciated it! Satisfied and since the place is close, happy to keep coming back to this location to change out the ol' oil :) Not much else to say besides that. I've been using Grease Monkey for years, and overall I've been happy with their service, but over time they have gradually increased their price for a conventional oil change to around $45 dollars, which is just too much. I used to watch for their coupons and get it down to $25 or $30, but now even the coupons dont get it down lower than about $35 or $40. So for the past few months, I have decided it's back to my own garage for oil changes. However, I recently stumbled upon another shop near my house that does oil changes for $30, standard price, and with a coupon they offer, it takes it down to $20. Great deal! Well, to start the OPEN sign wasn't on, so I wasn't sure if they were taking customers... I wasn't greeted, just told to pull in and leave it running. As I entered, the tech didn't hold the door for me, and then handed me a laminated sheet asking what type of oil I wanted... I usually go to the dealership, so I didn't know... I just said, "uh the correct one?" He said "that's all of them." So I said, "okay... the cheapest I guess?" He didn't look at me but said, "you're all set." The process was speedy. The same tech processed my card and asked if I wanted a receipt, I said yes, and he gave me the wrong receipt off the printer. Poor customer service, won't be returning. read more

I won't be coming back here. When I arrived I was quoted a very high price, $92, for a mobile one oil change. It was explained that this was because I had a European car and they had to use "special" oil. When I went to pay they tried to charge me an additional eight dollars for "special European" oil, and also a $10 charge for using "bottled oil". While eventually they only charged me the originally quoted price, then they tried to not give me my "free" car wash. I also discovered after I left, that they had reset the service interval for the next oil change from 10,000 miles (factory recommended) to 3200 miles. I like the atmosphere and feel like they do good work, but they could go with a better system for choosing which cars go through. Today I lucked out and pulled in behind someone getting multiple services so my car didn't even get pulled in for over an hour. Multiple other customers came and went while I waited for one car to get done, just because they chose a different lane than I did. Maybe have dedicated lanes for only oil changes? I have been to grease monkey in Lehi by Smiths several times and found them helpful and quick but felt no major loyalty per say. However the other day they went way beyond. I called up for help and talked to Tyler. I told him I had been there for an emissions test and it had failed. (It was a major job I worked on and it took days. I finally found the problem and fixed it but our 30 day grace period had passed.) Tyler could have charged for a new emissions test but didn't and told me to come in and he would take care of me. I will definitely go back here to get my oil changed. I drive an older mini van that needed an oil change. They got me in right away and did the oil change in about 20 minutes. They seemed knowledgeable about my Odyssey and did not try to up-sale me on services or replacements. The price was reasonable and they vacuumed the inside and gave me a complimentary car wash with my purchase of an oil change. After the wash, I was able to use their cloths and product to wipe out the inside of my car.without an extra charge. These guys are very honest and stand behind their work! We had our oil and transmission fluid done there. Later that day our car was smoking and we were 30 minutes away. Instead of having us miss our event to bring our car back up, they drove down immediately and fixed the issue while we were in our event. It turned out that a hose had come loose and the coolant was spraying everywhere. They put our safety first and our time above their own time. They sent me a coupon for free windshield wiper blades to get me to come back to them for the service. I had a good experience the first time i went and figured I'd drive up from Provo to get my oil changed even though i could've gotten it done a little cheaper there. After abt ten minutes the guy comes in and tells me the normal blades aren't going to work and i can upgrade to the premium blades, but then he can only do buy one get one free. I say sure because at least i am getting one blade free. Abt 30 minutes later this guy tells me my car is done. Then he tells me they couldn't change the blades because the premiums didn't fit and that if i wanted to change my blades i needed to go to a store and buy some blades to change them myself. He applied no discount whatsoever for the coupon and gave me nothing for my inconvenience. I came up because they gave me a coupon that didn't even apply to the car i owned when they knew what kind of car i owned.
