    the last pitch

I had a blast with Ethan on the multi-pitch climbing trip at Lamb's Knoll. It was my first multi-pitch and I learned a lot. Ethan was very knowledgeable and had a wealth of experience. He led me down 400 ft of repelling then back up 5 pitches. The last pitch was the highlight and the longest. This climb had it all: overhanging jugs, a crimpy dihedral section, a bit of a mantle getting to the fourth traverse pitch, a couple of slabby moves at the start, and a finish in a small chimney. Some prior repelling experience is required. I recommend this experience for the sport climber who is curious about multi-pitch climbing. The entire route is well protected with glue-in bolts. Ethan does a great job when it comes to safety, buddy checks, communication, and best practices. Amazing experience and an amazing guide! I would book another trip with Rock Odysseys and Ethan again, an unforgettable experience!

Took a family adventure half day canyoneering trip with our 10& 6 yr old boys. Maggie was an amazing guide and was so patient and great with us. She coached and worked with our nervous boys even helping them down when they didnt have it in them for the first canyon. By the time we left everyone was wizzing down and excited for new adventures. Great communication from booking through to pickup. I honestly can say this was the best thing we did on our trip and well worth the cost of the private guided tour. Loved it and felt safe the entire time!!

We completed a half day Canyoneering trip with Stephen and it was the highlight of our trip to Zion. We felt comfortable with Stephen's guidance and expertise, and truly loved every moment. I would highly recommend Rock Odysseys and Stephen!

What an amazing experience! We had such a great time--including our cousin who turned out to be hiding a fear of heights. Our guide was so incredibly gracious, and he created an experience we all could love despite our varying skill levels (our trip was in April and I'm devastated I can't remember his name). I 100% recommend.

Our guides, Gabby (Owner) and Sandra were absolutely wonderful. They were very patient and encouraging since most of us had never rappelled. With each rappel everyone gained more confidence and was presented with a greater challenge at the next location. It was a great experience overall; we are already planning and looking forward to our next adventure with them.

We were vacationing in the area and planning on visiting Zion National Park as well as the Grand Canyon. In addition, I decided to book a full day combo tour (rock climbing + canyoneering) for me, my wife and our two teenage sons. The entire experience was amazing from beginning to end with Rock Odysseys. They patiently answered my questions and then were able to book our trip without any issues. On the day of the trip, we met our guide Gabby at the rendezvous point. None of us had any real experience with climbing or rappelling and a couple were a little scared of heights. This was no problem for Gabby. She is an amazing guide. She is so knowledgable about the sport and had the most patient, cool-headed demeanor even with two rowdy teenage boys. She is an amazing teacher and made sure we all learned a lot and had an amazing experience. We felt so safe and well-cared for. Kudos to the Rock Odysseys team as they crushed it on our trip and a HUGE nod to our amazing guide, Gabby, who made the trip so much fun for us. I highly recommend Rock Odysseys if you're in the area and looking for an adventure!

Went out to Zion Utah, setup an excursion with Rock Odyssey out in Springdale. Just my wife and myself. 8am start with our guide Aly. She is and excellant guide. Being our first time, she really shows her experience and professionalism. One of the best things to do when your in the area. Ask for her by name, she will get you climbing and repelling in no time. An unforgettable time and experience.

Absolutely incredible time! We were a group of three and canyoneered in Water Canyon. Our tour guide, Kevin, was deeply knowledgable and educational / entertaining throughout the entire tour. The day was filled with breathtaking surroundings, great hiking and exhilarating rappels into the canyon. If you are feeling particularly adventurous, you can even get a little wet rappelling down a waterfall!! A wildly fun experience :)

Our tour guide, Al, showed us such an amazing experience! He was friendly, patient, funny, knowledgeable of the area, and of course, has tons of stories to share! Super laid back and very professional! Depending on the amount of people you with, the price of canyoneering will decrease. Before you go on the trip, make sure you use the bathroom. The drive up to Lambs Knoll was about 30mins and the hike up was about another 30 mins. Instructions and safety took about 10 mins and next thing you know, you're strapped up and ready to go! With a group of 4, Al made each of us feel comfortable on each course. He didn't rush us off the mountain and even offered to continue on to do more rappelling. If we didn't leave our mom on a souvenir shopping spree for 4 hours, I would've agreed for more! He even made me feel all skinny believing that I can squeeze myself between the slot canyons!! Haha! That was an adventure in and of itself. The Slot Canyons were one of my top 10 things to do while living in Utah and I'm glad I got to see how beautiful it is in person. The pictures below doesn't do any justice to actually being there and touching the walls. Before I wrap up this novel of a review, I have to say that I will definitely come back here and do the narrows. They offered 10% off our next adventure and 10% off apparel.

Sick of your shizz, coronavirus! Initially I wasn't really sure what you expect from a Jeep tour, but I was pleasantly surprised by the fun, off the beaten path experience that we had taking the sunset tour. I was a bit leery of the Jeep and thinking it may or may not break down on a dirt road without cellular signal, but all is well that ends well. The ride was scenic and bumpy and an all around good time. Our tour guide was Zach(Zack?) and he was Ah-mazing. He was a great driver, funny, interesting, informative, and an all around joy to be around for our three hour tour. He shared lots of information on our surroundings, asked a lot of questions about our trip, and made a lot of great recommendations for our stay near Zion. If you can get him as your guide, you'll be in great hands. Overall a lovely time with spectacular views.

Even though they are not doing guides at the Zion itself they are "selling it". Therefore and because the weather forecast did not look to good for the whole area they recommended the north wash area. We went in the same corner were the movie was made with the guy who got stuck in the canyon and cut off his arm. But we did not know that at that time. But here comes the thing they put money first before safety! We asked several times if it is safe to go and if it wouldn't be better to cancel because of weather. They refused. We went in an area he had no clue in which fork we went for Canyoneering. And afterwards I discovered that the locals there had cancelled all trips for that weekend due weather forecast and storm. He put us right into it!!!! We trusted them and their experience!!! They clearly don't have. They may be climbers but that does not help if you don't know the area We spend the night stuck in the canyon after exhausting hours climbing through the canyon through way to narrow spots. And we went right into a flash flood!! And whole night of thunderstorms and rain, clustered together on an edge under us above us everywhere water. Our phones died because our guide did not have light with him and he refused later reimburse our stuff. Our fault he said. Our trip took us almost 30 hours of nightmare. And next morning a rescue team where on their way to look for us not because the company was worried no because nice people next to our camping ground realized we did not come back before the storm started. Make sure you book trip with locals and they do trips in an area they really know! By they way we did not get an apology just a free trip for a better experience instead of money back (we asked for our money back to donate somewhere because they clearly did not deserve it)! Who the hell would do a second trip after such a nightmare! Greedy for money with no care for the people who just want a nice and safe experience out in nature

It's only about 1 mile round trip and links you up to either Angel's Landing trail, Emerald Pools trail or the West Rim trail - so I wouldn't call this one an independent hike - you wouldn't be doing this one all on its own. It's more of a place for overflow parking for some of the main hikes with a small trail to get you to those actual trailheads. Bc of the parking issues for Angel's Landing, we had to park at the Grotto trailhead which is how we ended up on this trail. It's mostly flat, very well maintained, has a picnic area and nice restrooms. You get amazing views all along it, especially of Angel's Landing off in the distance! It's a great way to start the Angel's Landing hike tbh. We even saw deer!! And on our way out, some crazy clouds had rolled in and made the rock formations and mountains look so other-worldly and we even got snow as a bonus!! Definitely not disappointed we had to add some extra steps to our Angel's Landing hike! I got some great shots!

But there are a few trails that actually parallel the road, and can take you from shuttle stop to shuttle stop. So I say, if you can walk the canyon, why not? That's kind of the point is to be out there, right? The Grotto Trail is a great example. Connecting Shuttle Stop 5 (Zion Lodge) and Shuttle Stop 6 (The Grotto) this is a wonderful way to see a little of the canyon on foot. You can walk it in either direction, so take your pick. It doesn't much matter as elevation gains are minimal, but I like to get off of the shuttle at a farther stop and work my way back. Sometimes in the off season, however, you may be able to find parking at one of the stops and not the other, so if you're headed to the Grotto for a popular hike there, you may have to park at the Lodge and walk up. Perfect! Take this trail. You can also take the Emerald Pools and then Kayenta trails which parallel (sort of) the opposite side of the road, but that's a much longer haul. The Grotto Trail is only a half mile long. This trail isn't exactly quiet or private as it does parallel the road, but they report a surprising amount of wildlife here. I've not seen them when I hiked, but look for deer who are very unamused but mostly indifferent to humans. They are all over the park. I can't say it's my top destination hike when I plan a trip to Zion, but if you can squeeze it in or are forced to walk when Grotto parking is full, you won't be disappointed by a meandering walk along the canyon floor.
