Beautiful trail starts at Red Cliffs Campground where you need to have $5 in cash to put in an envelope for day parking. Spots are usually full on the weekends so arrive early or come on a weekday. Trail is a beautiful hike but most people don't get past a mile in where you need to climb on a cliff side with a rope to help and a deep pool to slip into. Great for kids for the first mile, experienced canyoneers can progress further. Very short trail from Red Cliffs campground leads to a sign for the dinosaur footprints. Information signs discuss the footprint information. Great to take kids and only a 4 minute hike.

One of our favorites of the trip. The kids loved climbing the rocks. Some shade throughout which our dog appreciated. Huge cave you can climb up into and have a snack break or just enjoy the beautiful view - really seems otherworldly. Kids (8&9) and husband did the rope area while I waited by the little natural pools with the dog. I was against it at first, but didn't seem as bad when we got there as it is in pictures and they handled it beautifully. That said, they did get a little spooked at the higher point of the crossing.

In A Nutshell: -The Red Reef Trail in the Red Cliffs National Conservation Area is a local secret. -If you want a fun, easy & short hike that encapsulates a lot of what the great state of Utah offers, then this is the trail to do. -You'll see red rock mountains, trees, a creek bed (with or without water) & the iconic smooth sand stones. -The hike is very short probably around 2 miles round trip. -There are some unique challenges like crossing over using a rope while ensuring your footing is along carved out rock, in addition to some light scrambling. -It wasn't crowded at all when I did it, I saw about 10 people total. Overall, this is a very cool hike, worth checking out.

Easy to moderate trail. I say moderate because there were some steep moments that our littles struggled with (4 year olds). But still a great family trail. The end, however, I would not trust kids to climb unless there is water for them to fall in and swim. The rocks were already slippery without water on them. Imagine how slippery they'd be with water. We went the first of June and it was practically bone dry: no waterfall and little mirky water. Kids basically played with the tadpoles.

This campground is only a few years old, and it's nice and clean, but there isn't much shade…read more Check in was confusing at first since you think you are pulling up to a little hut but there is no one there? So we kept driving to the round about and I walked into the rangers station. I easily found the campers check in line and I then it was easy breezy. We were given a map, instructions, a bracelet to access the water areas, etc. The store offers plenty of fun souvenirs, albeit pricey. I was slightly displeased with the options as far as food/camping goods go. There were snacks, a few lunchables, some drinks, the frazzle drinks etc. as well as some medical goods, like aspirin, bandages etc. But it didn't really have the necessary goods we really needed that ended up with a quick run to Walmart... but thankfully Walmart wasn't far. Our campsite was clean, and supplied the necessary utilities we needed, as well as a fire pit, picnic table and one tiny tree. I wish the sites were flat rather than the black rocks. We had a great view of the lagoon and nightly sunsets. But felt like the rocks made it extra hot on our site. Of course the kids loved the mining, and playground. My daughter did the Build a Bear at the kids rec center, but we never saw the Bears that were supposed to be at these events. But maybe because it was 105 degrees?! The main attraction is both the water park & lagoon. Both each equally just as exciting and unique. The water park isn't huge by any means. It had 4 watersides. 3 different types. One nicknamed the toilet bowl by our group. You can slide down on a tube single or as a double and it's a lot of fun spinning around the bowl before shooting out. There was also another slide that did some turns and two slides that shot straight down. There were two pools, two jacuzzis, a splash pad and my favorite... the lazy river! The waters were very warm in all the pools. There is very little shade at the water park, besides a few canopies, a few covered tables and there were reservable cabanas that were a bit pricey. The lagoon water was warm on the outskirts, but cooler the further in you go. It's a sloped and sandy beach with chairs, a few palm trees that also don't offer much shade and a small canopy. Life jackets are a must for everyone including adults if you go in above your knees, and those kids working are very strict! Also, no pushing and shoving off the inflatable play center. That's the biggest attraction to the lagoon. A huge obstacle course in the middle of the lagoon. Hours for the water park/lagoon are a bit disappointing as they don't open till 11am and close by 7pm. It's so hot in the summer in St George they really could stand to stay open longer. The cooler fee is $15 per day and no outside food or alcohol is allowed, and yes they do inspect! You can go use one pool and a jacuzzi at 7:30p for campers with a special keypad code. One downside to this park, is it's next to a sewer treatment facility to the west and one day it smelled bad as the temperature rose. There's also a lot of construction happening outside the park near the lagoon, so there was dust and tractor noise. We stayed 4 nights. I think 3 is plenty in the awful summer heat. I think once the trees can offer more shade it'll get better. But overall the heat and no shade wiped us out. Also, to note: no early check-in or late checkouts during summer. You'll be turned away, or priced for an extra night.

I have stayed in many vacation rentals over the years, and I can honestly say this is the best one…read moreI have ever visited. It was spotlessly clean, easy to find and enter, great parking, and great location to Zion. The bedrooms were huge, with a king sized bed and twin bed in each, so you could easily sleep 6 adults here, and more if people were willing to do air mattresses in the living room. The bathrooms were great, and fully stocked with many towels. Great shower and bath tub. The kitchen had everything you could possibly need to cook, including a crock pot and waffle maker! They ever had a pancake/waffle mix out on the counter which was so cute. The tv was easy to use and had lots of app options. The blinds worked great to keep out the sun. The couch was very comfortable and the kitchen is huge! The street was very quiet, and the little town had a few nice restaurants and was only minutes away from the main drag in Hurricane. I am so happy my husband found this place, what a score! Honestly my only negative notes are nitpicking - one of the twin bed frames was loose and creaky and could use some tightening. The ceiling fan in our room was stuck on the highest mode and we couldn't adjust it. Tiny things like that, but nothing to take away from what a phenomenal experience we had. We don't go to Zion often which is kind of a shame because I would totally stay here again.

Its always squeaky clean, has comfortable king bed and best of all - a fenced backyard with grass. We so look forward to stopping here after a long day of driving. The back fence is 4ft tall which works fine for us as our big dogs are not jumpers. Also, nice patch of grass. It's on a fairly busy street so the front room has a bit of street noise but it doesn't bother us at all. It's a 2 bed/2 bath both ensuites with king beds. Everything you would need in the kitchen, cozy living room area with a small TV. Lots of places to eat in Hurricane which is 5 min away. Highly recommend. So grateful we don't have to walk the dogs on leashes (yucko) - just open the front door and shoo them in - then they can roam around the backyard safely. We will be back again and again!
