My husband and I were lucky enough to have Lana as a guide for two days! The first day was the ebike trip. The bikes were great, Lana shared her incredible knowledge of the park but more importantly she is a delightful person. The next day was the narrows! We are both over 65 years old but in relatively good shape. Her knowledge of the Virgin River, her patience and training on using the stick as we maneuvered our way down the River was critical. I did end up slipping on some muddy rocks and really bruised my leg but again her patience and compassion got me / us back to the visitors center. Our experience with Zion Adventures and more particularly Lana was awesome ! Knowledge patience and compassion are compelling assets for a guiding company. read more

I did a lot of research before our trip to Zion to figure out the right e-bike place and how to do the Narrows. Just me and an 11 year old going to a place with no reception on e-bikes and a 6 mile hike through a canyon had me a little nervous. After talking to this company on the phone, I felt confident this was the right place. We did the e-bike and bib Narrows package. We tried on the bibs and footwear the night before so we didn't waste time in the morning. It was easy, mostly comfortable, and they took us through the process on how to get to the narrows. My ONLY advice is to NOT do the e-bikes the same day as the narrows. Take the shuttle. You will be EXHAUSTED and the winds are harsh as you bike through. Save the e-bike ride for a different day where you can ride through more casually. We were SO tired when we needed to return. The bibs and narrows hike went well. It is VERY difficult and 6 hours for the shorter version, but worked out well for us. **When I saw other e-bikes from other companies, I would not have wanted to take those. Just fyi... the e-bikes are VERY different from company to company. Ours were pretty new, the charge lasted all day, baskets were handy to story our gear, and a spot for walking sticks. YOU MUST TAKE A WALKING STICK to the Narrows. You will 100% slip and fall and get super freezing wet without one. We saw MANY people fall in the Narrows! read more

We came here to rent gear for our trek in the Narrows and it was an excellent experience. Staff got us the shoes, socks, and stick that we needed and then gave us a full tutorial of what to expect for the hike. They were super friendly and knowledgeable, taking lots of time to answer all our questions. Price also felt reasonable. We returned our items the next day, which only took a minute. We are SO glad we went on our adventure to the Narrows in late April for our spring break. This was our family's first trip to Zion (my wife and me, plus our two boys ages 6 and 11). We did some hikes on our first day and then did the Narrows with Zion Adventures for our second day (starting as early as we could, arriving at the location at 7:30 AM). We are so glad we did this, and we are so glad we did it not just with the gear, but with the great team at Zion Adventures for a guided hike. This made it so much easier, safer and more enjoyable for our family: we were in great care from door to door with Jess and Forrest. They helped us with our little six year old as he needed some help with his footing in the river, they showed us the best and safest paths through the canyon, and they were very patient with us and good humored. We couldn't have been in better hands - we are so thankful to them and the team at Zion Adventures! In the words of our 11 year old: "When we first began, we were right in the rental store, and our two guides helped us put on our waterproof equipment, which was simply required for us to wear. When we got started for real, we were on a bit of a long walk, where our two lovely guides showed us the history and scientific properties of what was around us. By the time we reached our first destination, we felt refreshed and ready to begin, and felt this would be a breeze. We were a little off. There were plenty of slippery rocks and both slow and quicker moving water, and multiple areas where the water was ~4 ft deep (which I loved to float in!). Without our guides, it would've been much more difficult for us! Forrest already told us that it was ok if we wished to turn back, which only encouraged us to push on. Our guides really got us out of a pickle, too. Without them, my 6-year old brother would've turned back and took a nap for the rest of the day. I just wanted to take a moment to shout out Rick and his amazing team for taking such great care of us! From the moment we arrived, to the gear fitting, to sending us off on our way to The Narrows, they were all so incredibly kind and caring and patient with our group of 9. We were excited to experience The Narrows and they made it so much better by showing us what we needed for the trek. They explained everything so well with a poster map and thoroughly so we would know exactly what to expect, and honestly they were all genuinely excited for us to see The Narrows, as much as we were! We spent a good 6hrs at The Narrows and I seriously could not imagine doing it without their gear. The socks/shoes were so comfortable and helpful when navigating the slippery rocks and current. The walking stick was a must - I would have fallen many times had I not had the stick to stabilize myself against the current. We used their backpacks to store our water bottles and their dry bags to keep our sandwiches, cellphones and key fobs dry. The store is well organized, clean, and a cool respite from the 104 degree heat. They also have items you can buy that you may have forgotten for your trip. Anyways, this company is the real deal and what the world needs more of. They have a passion for people and a vision for helping others have the best experience at Zion and it shows. They are best in class so don't even think about going anywhere but here for your Zion experience!!! You can thank me later, haha! Ps. Renting eBikes during one of our days in Zion National Park was THE BEST THING EVER - thanks to Zion Adventure. We rode over 30 miles and really experienced the beauty of the park in a unique way. And because we didn't have to wait on the shuttle, we were able to explore 5 trails in one day - including Scouts Lookout and Angel's Landing. The bikes also allowed us the ease of getting in and out of the park for meals - breakfast at Cafe Soleil, lunch at Camp Outpost, and post hiking beers at Zion Canyon Brewpub. The team at Zion Adventure was super helpful, and available when we needed them. We actually had to cancel our original dates due to COVID, and they honored our reservation. Service was top quality. The equipment was in great condition too. When we go back, Zion Adventure will be our #1 choice for bike rentals. read more

this was a possibility and laid out options: full refund, rebook for another day, or select a different to tour. We decided to make a gametime decision and pivoted to a different slot canyon tour, Kanarraville Falls. We appreciated that when making this decision Zion Adventures did not pressure us into pivoting to a different tour. For this tour, we still needed to use dry suits and neoprene socks, and water boots. The fitting process was very thorough and it was encouraged to try multiple sizes and fits to ensure that we were comfortable throughout the hike. Our guide was very personable, made us feel comfortable, and very much prioritized safety. Though there was a bit of a hiccup in forgetting the permit for this hike we were able to turn around and still complete the hike in its entirety without rushing. During the hike, our guide shared facts about the plants and the formation of the canyons, as well as Utah in general. Kanarraville Falls was beautiful and a less publicized alternative for the narrows. Throughout the tour, we felt supported physically comfortable in the suits and shoes and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. read more

Hubby wanted to hike The Narrows for his bday again. Last year, we started late and with the shoes I wore, my ankles were pretty tired halfway through. I have weak ankles from years of sports. This year we decided to get the right gear so we could make it all the way to Big Springs. I did a quick Yelp search and found Zion Adventure Company. It was right across the street from where we were staying and they had decent prices and great reviews. We headed over there to get our gear the night before so we can start early the next morning. As soon as we walked in, a very friendly employee started talking to us to find out what we needed. She was actually one of the guides that did the canyoneering but she still took the time to walk us through the process of renting our gear. She was very nice!! It didn't take us long to get our gear fitted and check out. We got the boots, socks, walking stick package. It was only $29 each. We opted not to take the walking stick cause we had brought our own trekking poles. We were in and out of the store in 20 minutes. They had maps with distinguishing landmarks so you could see how far into The Narrows you actually get. I took some pics, which really helped us during our hike. The next morning we took off for our hike. Those shoes/boots were a game changer!! I felt so much more confident walking through the water over slippery rocks. We found that we were making great time compared to last year. Unfortunately because I felt so good in my amazing boots, I took some risks that this old lady should have not taken. I ended up getting my foot caught up and slipped (not the boots fault. totally my fault ) and I jacked up my ankle. Note earlier comment: weak ankles. The hike back from Big Springs took us a lot longer because of my injury and we barely made the last bus down the hill. When I say "barely", we literally got there at 814pm with 30 seconds to spare (according to my husband's watch). The last bus leaves at 815pm. We were the last ones in The Canyon. How embarrassing!! Anyway, the 815pm bus driver was very nice and friendly! Because we got back so late, Zion Adventure was closed already. We got up the next morning and returned the items. They were very nice about us bringing them back late. We will definitely use them again when we come back next year. Great location! Great staff! Great gear!! Great times!! read more

My husband and I had the best time canyoneering with Whitney. It was a first for both of us repelling down cliffs (or anything) and she made us feel safe and explained everything throughly. It was also very nice talking with her about things more local to Utah (Zion area). She was extremely knowledgeable. I would definitely recommend this to anyone who is looking to have a fun memorable experience in raw nature but a twist of excitement. We did a full day and asked for more adventurous but they base it on what you are looking to do, less adventurous, or half days to see if it's for you! There's lots of options. We had the best day with Adam from Zion Adventures! Their Eye of the Needle & Via Ferrata trip was so cool. We rappelled down 6 tiers of waterfalls, including a 140' rappel down through a hole in the stone (the "Eye of the Needle"). It was a great experience, especially since our past rappelling experiences had all been on dry waterfalls & cliffs, so rappelling down wet falls was new to us. Adam was a great guide! We have always planned and lead our own outdoor adventures before, so this was our first experience with a guide. Before the trip we were excited for it, but I was wondering how it would be to go with a guide -- would they baby us too much, would we have go much slower than we were able to in order to wait for others in the group, or would the guide assume we weren't capable, or be so concerned with liability that they wouldn't let us do anything on our own? But Adam was the best guide - he had the perfect balance of educating us, emphasizing safety practices, and making sure everyone was using the correct techniques while also allowing us to be actively involved with the bottom belaying since we all had experience doing that already, letting us set the pace, and being really fun to hang out with. He joked around just like everyone else in our group. Oh, and the best thing was that we assumed there would be other people with us for the day, but when we arrived it was just the 4 people in our group and our guide. The second part of the adventure was the Via Ferrata climb back up the cliffside 450'. We had done a small via ferrata canyon in a different state before which was cool, but nothing especially challenging. And we know via ferratas are not comparable to "real" rock climbing, so I didn't expect this portion of the day to be especially intense or anything, but we thought it still sounded like fun after the rappelling. I can tell you, as someone who does a lot of outdoor adventures (including hiking, scrambling, bouldering, rappelling, etc. in exposed areas), and who has also been actively working for years to push down a strong fear of heights, this via ferrata was no joke. It was challenging for me, especially the first section that we ascended - not physically challenging, but mentally challenging with my fear of heights. But Adam was patient and gave me time to push through that in one spot, and then it became easier and wasn't so difficult for the rest of the ascent. It was beautiful and amazing. And our group members without a fear of heights thought it was thoroughly enjoyable too. What a great day. Thanks Adam! ADVENTURE TIME!!!! So off to Zion Adventure Company to rent some needed equipment ... Tried making reservations online, but computer system wasn't cooperating so I decided to give them a call. Spoke with a female employee who let me know, I could just walk in and pick up dry suit, canyoneering shoes, neoprene socks and a dry bag to rent (cost about $75-ish btw) without a reservation. Rented equipment on 10/18/21 for my adventure on 10/19/21 and staff was super helpful and I'm so glad I rented a dry suit for hiking The Subway via Canyoneering Route, instead of using a wetsuit. As the dry suit kept my body completely dry (hands and feet will get wet with neoprene still, FYI). Felt super bulky, but was totally worth staying dry and warm through out the hike. Parking is awful and limited around here. Paid parking spaces only and 2 available parking spots are free for 15 min limit, if you're just dropping off equipment. Turned in my equipment on the early morning of 10/20/21 and wasn't charged extra and that was awesome. Thank you, Zion Adventure Company for the needed stuff for my adventure. We trusted the staff to help pick out the correct size for dry pants and they decided XS for 3 members of our group. CS was WAY too small. Could not get them on and when we did, it cut into the crotch - that's how small they were. One member of our group has rather wide feet and very thick ankles but we were assured it would fit. Wasted so much time and money. Staff did not seem to care that our day was ruined. I will never rent from them again and hope others don't either. There are other options. They are impossible to get hold of on the phone but fear not - just walk into the store and you will be helped in no time. Our crew signed up for a last minute "Narrows river walk". ( We booked at 7p for a next day 10.30am shuttle ride and trip). No hick ups what so ever. Chances are the park shuttle service is fully booked at the National Park or on Recreation.gov, however one can count on the Zion Adventure company to help you book their private shuttle and get to the desired location with their timely and frequent services. Yes it is pricey but it's either that or nothing unless you plan your trip 3-6 months in advance. They also rent out the necessary gear and fittings for the river walk. Proper shoes, thermal - water socks, and water proof pants. Do rent this! at some point the river is up to your waist and you don't want your every day hiking shoes wet for 4 days. The store also sells equipment for canyonnering, climbing, etc. Hats and backpacks and gloves along with sun-hats, t-shirts and hoodies. ( think mini REI). I highly recommend this company for any Zion park visitors who are up for an exciting adventure and hike. They are covid smart - and felt comfortable with their staff and rental products. read more

I would give my rental experience 0 stars if I could. I rented their boots and socks for the narrows hike. About 8 miles into my hike I felt a lot of stinging pain around the ankles where the rental shoe lays at the top. My boyfriend realized that it was because the socks are too short and his were past the top of his boots. The Narrows hike is hard enough as it it because we did the 16 mile one starting from the top. With the friction of the water my ankles turned out like this. My boyfriend's shoelaces on his rental shoes kept coming apart and he kept having to adjust them. There were holes in the shoes near the toes. It was such a pain to constantly stop and I honestly cried because of the pain and stress of the hike. You're in water in the canyons all day and cannot really go anywhere on top of pain from rental gear. This hike takes 11-12 hours to complete. We got to the top of the mountain by their shuttle at 8am and somehow they expected us to return their gear by 8pm, which is when they close. By the time we were finished, hiked to the shuttle back to the visitor center, then took another shuttle back to the store, it was about 8pm, which we were lucky. We tried to tell the employees about my ankle and they were just quick to push us out because they were closing and say a quick sorry. The guy that was working the closing shift in the return area (Tuesday, August 6, 2019) said that the smaller socks they cut down to make it easier to put on. That completely defeats the purpose of them and was the reason why my shoes were scraping against my whole ankle. I am EXTREMELY upset as it caused so much pain and now scarring. They didn't even care to help us about it as the employees only cared about leaving. If you rent from them in the future, PLEASE be extra aware of what you are getting. read more

We did the half day rock climbing and half day canyoneering trip with Zion Adventures on 6/11... honestly can't say enough good things! We're a family of four (two teenage kids) who were visiting from California. Our trip was fantastic for so many reasons, but the main one was our GUIDE ADAM! This place is absolutely Amazing. Not only do you get gear at a reasonable price but you also get a brief about conditions, warning etc. the staff is absolutely amazing even when they are slammed they give you their undivided attention. If you have littles they have the selection for you, my 4YO was able to get shoes for the narrows and a backpack carrier for my 2YO. I highly recommend them they're open late so rentals are not hard to return and they have their own parking so you don't have to pay or go looking for spots to get in. read more

Experience: We used this company to rent our materials to hike the Narrows as well as get shuttled into the park. This company requires you to pick up your gear the day before, if you are heading up earlier than their opening time. However, we forgot to pick up our gear the day before, and they were very nice at letting us pick up our when we arrived and still make our shuttle time. The gear we rented held up very well as we hike through the Narrows. We paid about $50 for the gear and the ride to the trailhead. Tips: - Don't forget to grab your gear the day before! read more

First, let me start this review with a note of encouragement. If you're doubting your ability to do the narrows, yes you can! Take it slow and you'll be fine. It is an extremely doable hike with a very "choose your own adventure", as you can turn around at any point. Now that you're convinced, head to Zion Adventure company. I spent a great deal of time researching the various dry-suit rental businesses in the area (and there are a lot) and landed on this one. Every interaction with this business that ensued confirmed my choice. We drove from Colorado to Zion and had one day to do the Narrows. We got to Zion at 1pm after driving close to 9 hours and were told the scenic drive was closed to traffic due to parking restrictions. That's when Eric stepped in and offered a shuttle ride, which commenced quite literally the best customer experience I have ever had in my life. Not only was Eric the ultimate hype man for the narrows, but provided a solution to our problem by offering to shuttle us to the top of the route, despite us being the only customers in the store at the time. If you come outside of peak season, know that there are no public shuttle buses (they begin on 3/11 this year and we were there 3/6). However, Eric was able to shuttle us, all well giving an epic tour of the scenic road on the park, offering tips and tricks, and recommendations for further hikes. We did the Narrows and Eric promptly picked us up and enthusiastically continued to give recommendations, including dinner, which we took him up on. I will definitely be coming back to Zion when I have more time (this was just a quick stop on a road trip) and doing some rock climbing. I will 100% be back at ZA for that. read more

My boyfriend and his son had a high adventure day with the most amazing guide, Whitney. This woman is a true gem. For starters, a great communicator. Haven't we all experienced how difficult communication is lately? Not in this case. Also: an OUTSTANDING guide and instructor. Patient, generous with knowledge and fun. Cannot recommend her enough.
