The Gear Difference: The quality really shows when it matters most. My child is on the smaller side, but their gear fit him perfectly and kept him completely dry. For comparison, a friend rented from a competitor for their similarly sized child; the gear failed, and the poor kid ended up soaked in 50-degree snowmelt. Location & Booking: While they are a few blocks further from the Narrows entrance than some other shops, they are still right in Springdale and absolutely worth the extra minute of driving. We were so glad we went with Zion Guru for our waterproof gear to hike the Narrows. 1. For adults, (wearing the bib version) the feet/ankle were more comfortable than some others that squeeze the ankle. 2. For kids, the size was small enough to fit my 7-year old. 3. Zion Guru was great for both gear rentals and for tours. We did both with them. On the gear side - The gear was great and worked perfectly for our Narrows hike. The check in process was, unfortunately, very long, but I think we came at the busiest time possible (around 4:30-5:30). And it was the second busiest day they had in their company's history. But everyone was very helpful and we got on our way with the right gear (and well prepared) for our Narrows trip. Then the next day, we did the canyoneering tour, which is hiking and rappelling. It was amazing. If you have a chance to go with Harold, take it! He was amazing. We also had 2 kids (10 and 7) and he was great with them and got them exited (and less scared) to do some pretty epic rappels. He was an outstanding guide. And to top it off, my wife accidentally left her ID in one of the Narrows bibs. The team went through all of them and found it for us and made it easy for us to come back to get it (they would have mailed it, but flying home without an ID seemed risky). Overall, I'd highly recommend the company (and Harold in particular). They made our time in Zion very special. read more

If there's one tip you need when visiting Zion National Park, it's this: rent an e-bike for the full day. Absolute game changer. This shop had excellent customer service and high-quality rentals, plus an impressive selection of helmets in different sizes and colors. Pricing was around $90 for a full-day adult bike, which felt fair for what you get. The employee explained that the battery lasts about 30 miles, includes a headlight for after dark, and has five speed settings. One important tip: turn your speed setting back down when you stop, otherwise you'll jolt forward when you start again (learned that quickly ). For reference, the canyon ride is about 9 miles one way, and we only used one battery notch total for the ride there and back. The bikes are a little heavy at first, but once you get the hang of it, cruising down the canyon on an almost empty road is honestly so much fun. A few helpful tips they shared: - If there aren't bike racks available, you can chain your bikes together - Watch the safety video -- it's actually useful - Check your brake angle before heading out; they can adjust it for you - There are bike tool stations inside the canyon if needed - The seats can get a bit uncomfortable after a few hours, so plan accordingly The shop is about 1.5 miles from the park entrance. There are closer rental options, but this one stood out for its bike quality, helmets, and service, so I'd still highly recommend it. For a full-day rental, you can request early pickup, and returns are due before 7 pm (as of December 2025). Zion is a beautiful national park that everyone should go to, but if we're being honest, you NEED to rent from here. Everything was super easy and the staff were very helpful. We opted for the Narrows gear with boots, socks and a stick which was honestly all we needed as we brought our own dry bag. But they did have a lot more options if you needed them. The real winner was the ebike rental though. It is a little pricey but riding through the park on the bikes was a top-tier experience. My girls group rented from Zion Guru after learning that their waterproof bib and neoprene socks are all once piece - connected so in theory you won't get wet. We found the bib and shoes were all clean and comfortable. I have wide feet and the shoes still fit very well and didn't cause any pain throughout our hike. The staff also gives you a short presentation about the Narrows hike and you can ask questions and ask for suggestions then. I'm not sure why Zion Guru does not seem as popular as other outfitters in Springdale. As we made our way through the Zion National Park and even on The Narrows trail, we saw very few green boots. We loved out experience with Zion Guru! We planned this visit and hike months in advance and wanted to be prepared for a novice hiker in my lady. We wanted to make sure she would have a successful and enjoyable time! She had zero complaints about her neoprene socks, water boots, and walking stick. She found everything to be comfortable and solid. The process was easy to book, and when we arrived to pick up our gear, the staff was friendly and informative. I had a nice discussion with the girl assisting us about parts of The Narrows hike, what to look for, how long to hike, and general advice. Be aware that the parking lot is small, though. If they ever get busy, then expect to search for street parking. Also, pricing is for tourists, so don't expect this to be a cheap rental. Would we recommend Zion Guru? Absolutely! We hired a guide with Zion Guru to hike the Narrows, which included all the gear - Neoprene socks, boots, walking sticks, and waterproof backpacks. We could've used bibs but when we asked staff member Reni, she assured us we would be warm without them (she was right!). All the gear was clean and in great condition. The socks and boots kept our feet warm all day and prevented slippage on the rocks. The walking sticks were a Godsend! The day of the hike we were picked up at our hotel on time and then returned to the hotel afterwards by our guide, Noah. Noah was more than just a guide. He shared information on ecology, plant life, entomology, geology and history of the Narrows, and rock climbing, all while ensuring our safety as he effortlessly walked the Narrows. He encouraged and expertly guided us through the tricky areas. We all shared personal history and felt like we got to know each other well; he is a genuinely kind and caring person, extremely skilled, competent and so, so friendly. The Narrows was the highlight of our trip to Zion and was so much more memorable because of Noah. The next day we rented e-bikes, which was a wonderful way to see Zion up close and personal! The bikes were in perfect condition, and we were given helmets and bike locks with the rentals. Zion Guru thinks of everything and their staff are so helpful. We rented a couple of bikes through Zion Guru and had such a great time! We came right as they opened and parked in the back lot, we were lucky enough to get a nice shaded spot as the day was predicted to get up to the 90's in spring so we totally took advantage of the overhang! Since we didn't book a tour of any sort, the bike checkin was upstairs. Jackson helped get us squared away & we did our waivers online so it was super quick and easy. There was a quick video to watch but I have an e-bike at home so thankfully it was fast & we were on our way! There are a lot of folks who rent bikes so it's easy to follow a crew down the street and turn right near the strip where the walking entrance is to Zion park. Loved that the e-bikes came with little baskets and locks so you didn't have to wear your backpacks or anything as you biked around, the helmets were comfortable, and the bikes themselves had big seats that helped tremendously. Husband and I came prepared and wore bike shorts but all in all it was a very nice ride! The video showed that the e-bike battery would only last 30 miles depending on how much you conserve energy but it is plenty of charge. I dislocated my ankle a few months ago and was nervous since e-bikes can be a hit heavy to get started and stop in addition to just pedaling so I used level 2-3 throughout the bike ride and only went down one battery notch! Had a blast, they were reasonably priced, very kind, and professional - would highly recommend! read more

We rented IR narrows hiking equipment from this location. Fantastic location, that you can walk from the national park parking lot to the store and vice versa. The checkout process is rather efficient. Step up to the counter give them your shoe size and you'll be provided. Choose water socks, and your bib overalls. Take a moment to try them on to make sure they fit then you're off to checking out inside the store. The whole process took us 15 minutes. Since we were picking our equipment up at 4 o'clock, we were ready to go the next day to hike the narrows. It's a little different hiking in the fall than in the summer, but it was nice to have the waiters to keep the cold water off your skin. read more

Three of us women friends booked a 1/2 day guided tour at Zion. We met with our guide, Shawnie Kay, and decided on the Angel's Landing hike, (just up to Scout Lookout), and had a great experience. Our guide was very experienced with taking groups, well prepared and we felt in capable hands with her. She was super friendly and knew a lot about the wildlife in the area and we enjoyed that insight. We especially appreciated her intuition of when to stop for little rests or to take a photo, allowing us to catch our breath. This really helped us pace the steep incline, and allowed us to enjoy much more. After that hike, we had a little more time, and she suggested taking us to Weeping Rock, which was a delightful way to end our time. For a 1/2 day booking, we really felt like we got so much.
