    Dog friendly....even for a terrier

What? A dog-friendly jeep tour? They have it! We can't say enough good things about our experience! Adam was our guide and he was great! His knowledge of the area and willingness to tailor the experience to our needs was beyond expectations. This experience really added to our Zion vacation!

Highly recommend the Zion tour with Kevin. He guided our group of 4 ladies and made sure all had cold water and were comfortable navigating the trails while riding in the open air Jeep. We saw 360 degree views from all elevations with lots of facts about the area throughout the Jeep drive . Note, the tour goes through trails and off the beaten paths around the park, then the gates to go inside the park are near the pick-up and drop-off parking point. Tip- Make sure to Arrive early to find parking for your personal vehicle and your guide will pick you up at your parking location once you coordinate your parking spot. Parking is located in various parking lots around the area at about $20-$40 average for the day.

We booked the tour; three families, 6 adults and 7 children. the jeep I rode in did have heated seats, and we were each provided with a blanket (on January 1st it's pretty cold up there!). our drivers were Mark and Oliver. both were super friendly, good with the kids (lots of curious questions), and seemed to love what they do. the spot they drive us to gave us an amazing view and the sunset was spectacular. I'd enthusiastically go again!

Let me start by saying Kevin is amazing! He made it feel like the entire group of us were his old friends. My wife and I loved the entire experience from the friendly greeting to the excellent narration and the amazing views along the entire tour. Would highly recommend to anyone visiting the Zion area. We greatly enjoyed this tour because it was personable and no long lines or crowds. We rode in the white ford truck and it was comfortable. Also Kevin had lots of cold waters for us and offered to take photos at every stop. Zion Jeep Tours is a must do when you visit the area! P.S. don't forget to ask Kevin about Zoey.

We loved that Kevin would take pics of all of us!

Loved, Loved this relaxing tour while enjoying the beautiful Utah scenery. Kevin was great, insightful, funny and kind. The blankets were a plus since it was still cold at 5000 ft. The lady who helped us book this the same week for 6 made the entire experience easy.

We LOVED our time with Zion Jeep Tours. Our guide Kevin was AMAZING. There were BREATHTAKING views and Kevin was very knowledgeable about the mountain ranges, their meaning, and history. Thanks again Zion Jeep Tours; and, special shout out to Kevin, you ROCK my friend...pun intended :)

You can't go wrong when booking a tour with Zion Jeep Tours. Booking online was super easy. We were picked up for our private keep tour at our hotel, Springhill Suites. Our driver Andrew was very knowledgeable about the area. We had a great time with him. I recommend everyone visiting the area book a tour.

My group and I could not have been more impressed with the private shuttle service that Zion Jeep Tours provided us into the National Park. Not only was it convenient, on time, professional, and MUCH more comfortable than the park's shuttle service, but it ended up being informative, as well. Our driver, Julie, went above and beyond to make sure that we were prepared for our day in the park - she offered us water, restrooms, and hand sanitizer. She also advised us on the company's COVID-19 policies, as well as the National Park's guidelines - which included the possibility of needing masks at some point in the day if we entered any of their facilities. Since our group was mask-less, Julie gave us all masks to be prepared. Once we embarked on our trip into the park, we expected just a shuttle service but we got so much more! The entire drive from Springdale to the Temple of Sinawava was filled with fun historical facts and information about the park. We got off the shuttle even more excited for our adventure because we felt that we had a new personal connection with the park. And now, our entire group is excited to learn more about the history of the area. I will absolutely utilize Zion Jeep Tours again in the future - any time I visit Zion, to be quite honest. Can't wait to try a private Jeep Tour next!

July 7, 2022- We scheduled a 4:45 PM tour and arrived at the meeting point at 4:15 PM. Parking is available in the meeting place hotel parking lot. The hotel charges $30 for the use of their lot. Better to pay at the Kiosk (also in the parking lot) for $20. It's that way every where in Springdale.Within about 5 minutes, the 8 passenger Jeep (tiered seating in back) pulled up and our tour guide, Andrew, gathered our group up and gave us the outline of our tour. Since we were all there and ready we left at 4:30 PM which allowed us a few extra minutes to enjoy the tour. The next 3+ hours were filled with spectacular views (from the area outside the park), back road driving, historical facts galore all on a beautiful summer evening. Andrew filled us in on all the local stories, events, how things got named, rumors, legends and made it all interesting and understandable. The Jeep has a very good sound system so we could hear Andrew clearly throughout the tour. He could also hear us if we had a question or comment. Going this late in the day was a bonus for taking photos. Andrew was very good about avoiding dust on the back roads so we never got showered in dust (plus - they give you a balaclava souvenir scarf pull-over for extra protection) Andrew stopped twice so we could get out a see the major view lookouts to take photos. We were on the west side outside the main park and the sun, setting in the west, was shining directly on the peaks and valleys east of us. The color and clarity was excellent. The tour, which went a little more than 3 hours, seemed over in no time. It was a completely different perspective than the grandeur seen inside the park. Well worth the $$90 each. If you can request Andrew, it will be a treat, although I think all the guides are well trained to give great tours.

Kevin was incredible- kept us entertained and showed us some amazing sights! He is knowledgeable, friendly and was so much fun to spend the morning with! He even won over our surly teenager!!! Thanks for an awesome tour!

Zion Jeep Tours came recommended highly and outperformed that high bar. (This review is of a three hour private Jeep tour) Our guide, Dan, crushed it. Clean, new, well equipped off-roading Jeep stocked with cool water for our adventure. Saw East entrance Zion, scenic drive, and then some back country off-roading to an unbelievable Mesa for some incredible golden hour views. Can't recommend more strongly Zion Jeep Tours or Dan specifically.

This is not that your: upon meeting Dave he never asked a person in our group their name although he did ask the youngest member (early 30 female) if she had a boyfriend or husband and if she wanted one. There is a $30 mandatory cash tip added to the total of the jeep trip that is asked for immediately upon entering the jeep and going in Dave's (who is the owner ) pocket. The trip consisted of a four hour long stream on consciousness about how the Mormon religion is based on lies, his alcoholic and drug addicted family, how his sister killed his mom, how he was adopted, his two autistic sons, his "retarded" best friend who stole his wife's gun, and his current wife that is his 2cd, 3rd, and 4th wife. A few names of plants were dotted into the guided tour before we learned about aliens and other things in the universe. He made inappropriate jokes about other tour companies and doing drugs, seeing naked woman sun bathing, among endless other comments. The view from the top of Smithsonian Butte was beautiful, but not worth it. This tour was the worst part of the trip.

It is an exceptionally well designed park with the free town and park shuttle system that centers at the Visitor Center and has many paved trails. - As you drive into Zion, you will go through the Zion-Mt Carmel tunnel - a 1.1 mile pitch black dark tunnel with no lighting, just a few windows of the stunning mountains as you drive through - The park and shuttles are free! Stay in Springdale for the closest location. The Best Western was very nice and Shuttle stop 4 - Favorite easy trails in my order of preference: -- Riverside Walk (2.2 miles, 57 ft elevation change, 1.5 hours) - paved path along the Virgin River in a Canyon -- Pa'rus Trail (1.7 or 3.5 miles, 50 ft elevation change, 1-2 hours) - start at park shuttle stop #3 (Canyon Junction-shuttle only stops going downhill - Not from the Visitor Center) for a 1.7 mile walk on a paved trail near the Human History museum, past the campgrounds and to the visitor center. If you start at the Visitor Center, then you will have to turnaround at Canyon Junction and it is 3.5 miles. - The Grotto Trail (1 miles, 35 ft, 0.5 hour) - dirt trail paralleling the road from Stop 6 (Grotto) to Stop 5 (Zion lodge) - saw and heard a wild turkey. - Weeping Rock Trail (0.4 miles, 98 ft, 0.5 hour) - short but steep paved trail ends at a rock alcove with dripping water - Lower Emerald Pool (2 miles, 150 ft, 1.5 hours) - paved trail to a small pool. It had been dry, so it was underwhelming but if it had rained more, it might have been better. If you are adventurous and like a good view and danger, then try to get a permit to hike Angel's Landing. Someone died the week before we arrived. In the park, there are 9 shuttle stops where you can get off to hike. The following stops have toilets (may be a pit toilet or flush toilet): stop 1 Visitor center - flush, 2 Zion Human History Museum - flush - but you have to walk a bit to get to the museum where the toilet are located outside, 5 Zion Lodge - flush -inside the lodge, 6 Grotto-pit?, 7 Weeping Rock-pit?, 9 Temple of Sinawava - pit.

From past experience we decided to skip stopping at the…read moreVisitor Center for now (finding parking at this part of the day might involve circling the parking lot several times). So we drove out to the East side of the park via the Zion-Mount Carmel Highway and tunnel and took in the scenery, looked for bighorn sheep, and pulled over occasionally to get more photos and stretch. At this time they were still doing a one-way traffic control through the 1930's tunnel (to manage large vehicles passing through without incident). That ends June 7, 2026 and specific large vehicle sizes will have to take an alternative route - no tunnel for you! See their website for details and updates. We only waited about 7 minutes to pass to the East and only about 2 minutes to return on the West side. Just good timing on our departure - nothing you can control to shorten the wait. While on the East side of the tunnel we were fortunate to find a parking space in the limited areas so we could get out and walk the Canyon Overlook trail. It was easy walking but considered a moderate hike due to the drop-offs along the trail (handrails and plenty of space on the trail to feel safe going single file through a couple areas.) Most sections you can pass hikers coming back and have plenty of trail space. There were a couple of rock overhang, cave-like sections that provided a cool break from the sun. The trail end viewpoint overlooks the highway below and in the left bluff you can find one of the windows of the tunnel. Then we headed to the Visitor Center (around 2pm) and had no issues finding multiple parking spots were open. We sat at a picnic table on the Watchman side of the lots and enjoyed the sandwiches we brought for lunch. We did then go into the Visitor Center and it was crowded. A quick look around and I didn't find much new that I was interested in since we were there a couple years ago - until I saw an art book on Wildflowers of the West by Molly Hashimoto. Since I had bought her Trees of the West at Cedar Breaks Nat'l Monument a couple years ago I really wanted this new book. The checkout line was well organized and in 2 minutes I had paid for the book and was heading out to the informational side of the building where the crowd was not! We could have waited until after our final hike to go in, but I didn't want to be time constrained while on the trail just to and make it back before VC closed at 5pm. We boarded the shuttle before 3pm and made our way to Stop 9 - Temple of Sinawava where we undertook the Riverside Walk. Shuttle seemed to take about 20+ minutes to get up its route to reach this final stop. (Restrooms at the Temple stop were temporarily closed for renovation. Can't recall seeing notice of this prior to arriving at that stop). We'd been on the Riverside Walk during a previous visit and wanted to show our visiting relatives this easy, pleasant trail that takes you up to where those more adventuresome (and prepared with proper wading equipment) head into The Narrows. The main paved trail was busy but not too packed. We were still able to be alone on the path and experience the quiet forest and spot mule deer, lots of squirrels and see and hear little yellow goldfinches singing. On a previous trip we were more ambitious and exited the paved path to walk along the Virgin River on the dirt trail. I think we had to scramble up/down/over/around some boulders occasionally to stay along that river trail but there were a few cutovers to get back up on the easier paved main path if needed. We jumped back on the shuttle service in the 5:30 - 6pm timeframe and had time to stop at Zion Lodge (Stop 5). There were several turkeys strolling casually around the grounds looking amused (or annoyed, who can really read a turkey's face?) at the humans on their land. We used the restrooms, checked out the gift shop and then headed back over to catch the shuttle back to the VC. The park was already running extra shuttles at this hour of the day so no one would be stranded at any of the 9 stops along the Zion Canyon Scenic Drive. I think the next time I come to Zion it will be during the off-season when cars are allowed on the Scenic Drive - that will be a new experience.
