The trip consisted of a four hour long stream on consciousness about how the Mormon religion is based on lies, his alcoholic and drug addicted family, how his sister killed his mom, how he was adopted, his two autistic sons, his "retarded" best friend who stole his wife's gun, and his current wife that is his 2cd, 3rd, and 4th wife. A few names of plants were dotted into the guided tour before we learned about aliens and other things in the universe. He made inappropriate jokes about other tour companies and doing drugs, seeing naked woman sun bathing, among endless other comments. The view from the top of Smithsonian Butte was beautiful, but not worth it. This tour was the worst part of the trip.

Had I come on my own I wouldn't have known so many amazing things about this other worldly place. I met Steve in Kanab at the Coral Cliffs Tours office. We drove in a 4x4 company vehicle. He told me so much about all the history of each area we came across before we even got to White Pocket. I never felt unsafe as he was very professional in his handling in the navigation of the uneven, deep sand dirt road. We spent 3-4 hours traversing the various areas and hills of white pocket while he explained how they came about, the various colors and some great scientific mystery about them. Such a good tour and a heck of a lot more learned than had I just come here to snap some photos. 6-7 hours for $350.00 is a steal for the amount of time and schooling I got and I didn't have to drive. Brett was phenomenal. He made every one of us feel completely safe and confident through all the rappels (5 or 7, depending on who's counting -- we lost track because we were having too much fun). He struck that perfect balance of professional guide and enthusiastic local -- he clearly loves this place and knows it deeply, from the geology of the rocks to the broader mountaineering history of the area. That kind of knowledge just adds another layer to the whole experience. We drove over from our lodge to Easton Zion, and I'll be honest -- I wondered briefly if it was worth the extra time. It absolutely was. As a bonus, Brett had a great eye for photos, so we came home with some incredible shots to prove we actually did it. The slot canyon is cool and water is not needed while you in the canyon by vehicle. The trail is about 1miles. It is easy access. The canyon slot get narrow and have good smooth rock in the mixed. The multi color rock face make it photo perfect. I took several spider man climb between the two rock narrow face. Love it. The sunlight has different deflection on the canyon slot wall face. It red wall smooth surfaces are beautiful. Before enter the slot canyon, there is a path on the right take you to the tower of stone. It was beautiful.
