Had I come on my own I wouldn't have known so many amazing things about this other worldly place. I met Steve in Kanab at the Coral Cliffs Tours office. We drove in a 4x4 company vehicle. He told me so much about all the history of each area we came across before we even got to White Pocket. I never felt unsafe as he was very professional in his handling in the navigation of the uneven, deep sand dirt road. We spent 3-4 hours traversing the various areas and hills of white pocket while he explained how they came about, the various colors and some great scientific mystery about them. Such a good tour and a heck of a lot more learned than had I just come here to snap some photos. 6-7 hours for $350.00 is a steal for the amount of time and schooling I got and I didn't have to drive. They even provided water! Worth every cent! I highly recommend this tour. Ask for Steve. Excellent guide!

Aaron took us to the Peekaboo Slot Canyon, and we couldn't wish a better guide! He is a professional photographer, so we came home with the best canyon pictures ever! He also shared many interesting facts about local history, rocks, plants, etc. And he just brightened our day with his shiny personality! I wish we had more days in Kanab to go canyoneering with him! The very next day we went to the White Pocket with Quinn, and had a great time as well. The road to the White Pocket was rough and pretty exhausting, but we made a couple of stops, stretched our legs, got some delicious cookies at Jacob Lake, and even saw 8 condors. Quinn shared LOTS of interesting info with us! We were also pleasantly surprised how easily he navigated through deep sand. At the White Pocket he showed us all the highlights and the best spots for taking great photos. The Land Of Oz…read more.... My wife and I planned a 2 week road trip across the Southwest US with a 5 night stop in Kanab. One day was for Zion National Park and most of the other 3 days were for our first visit to Best Friends. It was time well spent. As a Facebook friend explained....."There is nothing in this world like Best Friends. What they do is amazing. Angels come to life right here on earth." Best Friends is not a country version of any animal shelter you've experienced. It's like a city for cats, dogs, goats, horses, pigs, rabbits and others who were abandoned, injured or thrown away - spread among 4,200 acres of buildings, corrals and playgrounds. For most people, it's the biggest farm or ranch they've ever seen or imagined. Best Friends is massive, but their job is massive. They accept animals from all situations across the US...rehabilitate them and facilitate their fostering or adoption. During the fires in Los Angeles, they rescued hundreds. Aside from a happy home, an animal remaining at Best Friends will receive more care and love from employees (815) and volunteers (thousands) than anywhere else. We took the Grand Sanctuary Tour one day and went on 2 tours another day to the Bunny House and Goat/Pigs. Then we volunteered an afternoon with 2 dogs which was something we'll never forget. And remember to stop at their cafe. For $5, you get a buffet lunch of great tasting vegan food...and a view from the large patio overlooking what you'd swear is the Grand Canyon. Best Friends helps them live their best lives. It's like the Land of Oz.

We got to there 10 min before our tour, met Raymond, our tour guide and 3 of us climbed in the Jeep. Peekaboo Canyon is amazing and not for outside of Kanab. Definitely need a 4x4 and to know how to drive in deep sand. It's an easy hike into the canyon. Raymond offered stories, history, and geology facts. Also, tips for the best settings on your phone to get even better pictures... plus showing the best places to take a picture...and he made sure to take a few of us with our phones. J.c. holds a wealth of knowledge and experience of the lay of the land, we were a party of four in one utv and there was a party of two in another utv, with J.c. leading the way through twist and turns to get to the canyon, the ride to get there was a great experience in its self!, it was a bumpy ride but that's the lay of the land!, your going to get dusty and dirty so expect it, and you need closed toe shoes as well. It's about a 15 minute ride from the base to the entrance to the canyon and well worth the ride!!, but when you get to the canyon that's where nature and J.c. wow you with such grand beauty and the wealth of knowledge that J.c. shares with you and the hike that you take through the canyon, nothing strenuous or stressful at all. You spend time exploring through the canyon and that's where you can take great pictures of the walls and the different topography that is there!, the weather was mild, mid to high seventy's so your comfortable in light layers, but again you will be dusty/ dirty but it's well worth it, pricing if fair, so make sure you book with them for any specials or discounts that are available, it's about a two hour excursion, so you really get your $$$ worth. We wanted to do something memorable during our trip to Zion and decided to go with Red Desert after our research online. Booking was easy, we were able to get same day reservation on the July 4th weekend. Our guide, Eric was amazing. He was calm, patient and pushed us just the right amount outside our comfort level for us to come back with great memories from the trip. Our kids, ages 9 and 11 did great. For one of the sheer drops, he did a tandem for our younger one. This was a private tour, the equipment felt clean and we felt safe and informed throughout our adventure. Can't recommend enough!

It was a nice ride in his 6 seater can-am. The ride was way to rough for a normal car and it looked like you could get lost way to easy.
