We had a great time. Joshua is a true professional teaching us the basics of Horseback riding. Half the day went by quick. I can't imagine Horses were the main mode of transportation back in the day. The family enjoyed the experience especially my 9 year old that misses Shadow (horse). My horse- Boots was very cool. Thankyou again we hope to be back soon. read more

Absolutely worth every penny, every minute of our time spent on the ranch, and all the seconds over the phone with Jackson! There is a reason to everything that they tell you, and the process you go through to get to the most rewarding experience with these beautiful horses. If you lack patience, discipline, and are only looking for instant gratification, this experience is not for you. If you're not going to listen, and are not open - this experience is not for you. From the start, Jackson sets the pace for the process. Do NOT come here expecting your hand to be held. You need to hold your own and it's for good cause. This was the most beautiful experience that my family and I could ever have together with such amazing animals. You will be wrecked, because no other place does it like they do at Jacob's Ranch. What Josh, Michelle, and Annika do is so special. Jackson isn't lying when he says it's not a nose to tail experience. Be ready to get down and dirty, to work, and be a leader. We will never forget this experience and I don't recommend it for everyone but I do recommend it to those who are open and willing to learn and reap the rewards. My family and I never worked with horses, never been up this close to horses, and most especially never rode horses like this before. At the end of the day, we could proudly say that we did it! We rode them up and down hills, through narrow trails, trotted through open dessert, while the sun was high in the sky till it was beginning to set for the night. We were on this journey with a couple from SC, who have been on horse rides all over the world and they said they've never been to a place like Jacob's Ranch. Needless to say, at the end of the day- we were all so proud of ourselves and amazed at the adventure we had together! read more

Such an amazing experience! I've been back three times and plan on returning many more :) Joshua is extremely knowledgeable about his horses and the terrain. Jakson will talk for nearly an hour yet tell you nearly zero details about the ride, he kept me on the phone forever without giving me any clear information. Instead, he insulted me, saying I "don't know anything because of my age," and bizarrely tried to convince me to read the Quran while speaking poorly about other religions, and political stances, totally unprofessional and inappropriate for a business call. After the call, he rang me back 20 minutes later acting like he didn't remember me and insisted I sit through a 30-minute "discussion" about what the experience entails. Yet every time I said I was ready to hear it, he wouldn't stop with his condescending and abusive remarks. At that point, I realized booking with them wasn't worth the frustration. Based on other reviews, this is clearly a pattern, very odd, avoid at all costs!! read more

Be prepared for a sales pitch that is longer and worse than any timeshare presentation ever! The man didn't take a breath for the first 15 minutes and I grew bored after he starting talking to me in a New Jersey accent. Said, if I didn't want to listen, he didn't need my business. So, needless to say, we are riding elsewhere as he wouldn't listen to me either. The ride and adventure looks great and our daughter would have loved it. Too bad we will never know! **Response - I wasn't the potential rider, I told you from the beginning of my call and review that my 13 year old daughter would be the rider, not me. But since you don't listen and clearly you are a bloviator who loves to pontificate about your business and for some reason, use a fake NJ accent, it makes more sense. While you "program" may be exciting and purportedly an experience of a lifetime, I could not imagine my daughter spending a day at your facility or having to wait and talk to you during the day. Maybe next time, be honest upfront and tell the person when they call, "I am going to talk at you for a hour and you are only allowed to answer, "yes" or "no", it might weed out people in 30 seconds and save everyone time and frustration as clearly your one star ratings are a direct reflection of similar interactions. read more

10/2022 - Don't let the reviews steer you away from this GEM!  Although the booking process can be challenging there is a reason for this, you need to know exactly what you are in store for and what to expect when you get there...  The guy on the phone will explain it exactly; it may take 30 minutes of your time but it's well worth it.  This isn't your typical show up and hop right on riding nose to tail, you have freedom to ride how you want and feel comfortable up and down hills through water, with the most breathtaking views!!    We read some reviews beforehand and it seemed some people had some less than savory experiences with this place.  I just recommend that you are patient with the booking process; the ranch owner is older and a bit set in his ways but seems to be like a great man who really cares for these horses and wants you to have the best experience possible.  Our Wrangler Josh was a fun loving ginger cowboy that couldn't wear sunscreen and owned that shit with a badge of pride...  He was cracking jokes and high fiving us the whole time when we accomplished the different tasks they will teach you to gain the horses trust.  The very last part of the day will be a nice long ride approximately 2 hours through the desert with breathtaking views.  We were lucky enough to get Josh and the Jacobs Ranch to ourselves that day for 270 per person, plus don't forget to tip for your Wrangler, I wish we had more to give...   Advice and comments for some of the reviews I heard...  One lady seems to have had issues with horse her son picked, it's about as easy to pick a horse as a dog really, you bring a random dog home it's not going to be trained right away, it's going to take time, same with a horse, will take time to earn the trust of the animal and one misstep can erase some of that trust, my wife accidentally missed the hoses butt with the whip hit his leg and could have gotten kicked if the horse wanted to but they are not malicious animals only reactionary. They are extremely sweet animals that are sensitive in the back of their legs and my wife made a mistake, so it's important to listen to what the Wrangler says, if you are unsure ask again or let someone else go 1st to show you.    Pick a horse that seems sweet on you but also fits how you want to ride and can handle; what I mean is just because a horse maybe affectionate doesn't mean that you should be riding that horse.  Also weigh that affection you may feel with the description of the horse from the wrangler.  My wife picked the perfect horse that was patient with her; mine was an Arabian and wanted to go a lil faster which is what I wanted.   To people complaining about the booking process, you need to learn what is in store for you that day, it's going to be a long day, you don't just jump on and ride then leave 2 hrs later so the guy on the phone will tell you all this, so it may take 30 minutes or so to book but it's well worth the time.  Being a little older and set in his ways he doesn't seem to have switched to more digital ways of maybe showing a video or something.  He is also a bit openly republican as many in that state but don't let any off handed comments from him during booking discourage you it's worth it to be patient with him and understand he may have grown up differently than you, you may even agree on something's but not want to talk about it on vacation.  You may be on vacation but he isn't, this is his everyday life and his home complete with everyday life problems and concerns so don't let 1 or 2 off handed comments discourage you.  So I just suggest you laugh it off and move on and so will he, don't let it prevent you from having the experience of a lifetime.  We almost did and we are so glad we didn't!  When we got there our wrangler didn't speak any religion politics or anything during our stay unless prompted.   Don't Worry! Be Patient!  Love Your Horse! Take Care of Your Wranglers! Thanks Jakson & Josh for Our Best Day in UTAH!! https://ziontrailrides.com read more

Zion Trail Rides at Jacob's Ranch - Beautiful End to a Wonderful Day! - Horseback Riding Near Me - Virgin, Utah

I am so thankful my husband Jonathan looked up this opportunity for us in Virgin, Utah!! Jacobs Ranch is the ONLY horse riding experience I'll ever want to do again!! The amount of care they have for their own horses, the TIME they take with you and your horse to build a bond before you saddle up and go for a ride. The ride was such a fun experience... the heat was the only challenge but that was our fault for wanting to go in the summer. We hear the fall/spring time is the best time to go. We can't thank Joshua enough for his guidance throughout the day and for assisting us and showing up the ropes. If you are interested in the best horse riding experience ever.... this is the place and the price.... EVEN MORE WORTH IT!! These guys are doing it RIGHT!!! Tips: Call in ahead of time and reserve slots for later on. Especially during the summer, they base how many rides on the heat and they won't take you or the horses out if it's too hot. Pick the morning or evening time for the adventure ride (7 hour experience). YOU WONT REGRET IT!! read more

Unfortunately we had the displeasure of talking to Jacob at Jacobs ranch. Me and my boyfriend were required to both be present on the phone. I can deal with people that talk too much, but the unsolicited racist views are absolutely unnecessary. It's unfortunate that these people feel the need to spread their hate onto others who are just looking for a good experience horseback-riding. If you value your safety and sanity do not come here. Don't give this place One penny of your hard earned money. Instead, go to Rising K ranch. They are absolutely amazing and have respect for ALL of their customers. read more

A wonderful experience from start to finish. We had a group of five, plus two guides, and a couple of travel bloggers who joined us. Of our group I had the most trouble, due to fear- but the guides calmed me down and made sure to keep me from falling off the horse. My friends did much better with their horses, running and jumping over logs. It was exciting and at times terrifying. I'd recommend you wear jeans, and shoes with good grip. (unlike me in silly slip on keds). Be sure to bring some snacks for when you stop to stretch your legs- and a shot of whiskey for courage! The men who joined our group were some kind of adventure travel videographers- it was a little frustrating to have to wait for them to set up their drones, but they did offer to sell me footage so I guess that's ok? We opted for the 3 hour experience, but I would definitely jump on the cowboy camp if I came back in this area. read more

STAY AWAY, read the texts before you book! Let's start with the booking process.. As you will read from many previous reviews your experience will begin with Jackson giving you a 30 minute sales pitch in which he will tell you it's not a sales pitch. He will not give you any straight answers about costs, duration or the times. He will tell you this isn't a "nose to tail ride", "nobody else the the world does what he does" and so on.. He will insist you get everyone in your group on a conference call before booking and during that call he will talk for nearly an hour yet tell you nearly zero details about the ride. As many stated, this process seems self serving but I was willing to do it for the sake of taking my family on an amazing ride. Our real problem began the day before our ride when Jackson called to confirm the start time. I was told he wanted us at the ranch at 4AM due to the heat. This was not something we were willing to do given the fact we were staying nearly and hour away with four children from ages 9-13. We settled on a 5AM start which was perfectly fine with us. We ate dinner in town and headed back to our AirBNB near Ponderosa Ranch when we found out the tunnel was closed due to a motorcycle accident. The Rangers stated it would be closed for three hours or so while they investigated the accident. This resulted in us having to drive around Zion to get home which took over two hours, we knew we would not arrive home till close to midnight, getting up at 3AM for a 5AM ride was simply not an option. You can see from the texts attached that we politely informed Jackson of this, he then began calling me nonstop and texting throughout the night extremely rude and threatening texts. You will see from the chain I never said I wouldn't pay but he continued to push the money issue and began to attack my character. He also states complete lies about the tunnel not being closed ( google for yourself), being able to drive to hurricane to get home ( also look for yourself, try to get from south Zion to Ponderosa Ranch via Hurricane). I have never seen such unprofessional, threatening and disgusting behavior from a business. He also responds to negative reviews like this with character attacks and threats of releasing voice recordings of your calls, which in itself is disturbing. PLEASE READ ALL REVIEWS, GOOD AND BAD AND MORE IMPORTANTLY THEIR RESPONSES OF BAD REVIEWS BEFORE YOU DECIDE TO BOOK. I anticipate a response from the owner attacking me, calling me a liar and threatening to release voice recordings. Just read the texts from and and you decide.. read more

This place is incredible. I have nothing but great things to say about my experience trail riding here. If you are looking for something that isn't your average easy going trail ride this is the place for you. We got there at 9:30 am and didn't leave till almost 7pm and spent the entire day working with the horses and in the saddle. Josh our guide was so helpful and really took the time to answer questions and make us feel comfortable. While this riding experience could be tailored to fit your needs, it is much more enjoyable if you have some riding experience and/or if you are not someone who is typically skittish and uncomfortable trying new things. You have to be willing to trust the process and trust your horse because navigating the terrain might seem quite difficult in certain places (especially for beginners) but these horses were seasoned pros! It is a long intense day out in the heat so I suggest if you are riding during the day to bring plenty of water, sunscreen, and a hat. Overall, I'm so grateful for this experience and I hope to be back sometime again in the future :) read more

We bought horses back in Florida because of the experience we had here !! BEST connection you'll make with a trail ride !!

Bottom line is my son went through the whole pick your horse, bond with your horse, ride bareback on your horse experience. He had a great time through that process and was ready to ride. However, when it came time to leave the barn he could not get the horse to go. My son is 18 years old and an inexperienced rider. The wrangler had him dismount and led the horse through the gate himself. When he got back on the horse the same thing happened again. The horse just kept turning around, trying to go back to the barn. He had to dismount again and have the wrangler lead the horse out through another gate. He got back on a third time (alongside a road) and the horse kept doing the same thing but this time was rearing his head and even his front legs "a little". Now my son is officially scared. This time he asked to get off the horse and said he was done. The wranglers horse was not saddled (he was riding him bareback - with a pad) so he could not trade horses with my son. Instead he sent my son back to the ranch, on foot, with his (the wranglers) horse. The wrangler then rode my sons horse for the rest of the ride and said it happened because my son spooked the horse because the horse could feel he was nervous. It then took about 20 minutes for the wrangler to get the horse to settle down. The horse kept doing circles with the wrangler, rearing his head, while backing into me and my horse - several times. The Wrangler was a fantastic rider that could obviously handle this but there was no way my inexperienced son stood a chance. I just feel like something else could have been done. If the wrangler had saddled his own horse, instead of riding bareback, he could've traded with him. Or he could've asked another wrangler to bring out a different horse. Instead my son was left feeling defeated, afraid of horses, and walking back by himself. In hindsight I wish I had insisted on the second option. I left a message with Jackson saying that I wasn't asking for anything but I wanted to let him know how the ride went. Jackson told me he would talk to the wrangler, his son, and get back to me. He never did. I reached out once more after that, again with no response. My son clearly did not have the guaranteed experience they speak of - but again I was not asking for our money back. I just wanted them to know what happened so they could perhaps do something different for the next customer. We liked the wrangler, and in-fact tipped him very well. He did apologize for the outcome and said my son could come back anytime and the ride would be on him. But not only do we not live in Utah, sadly I think it very unlikely my son ever wants to ride again. It really spooked him - which breaks my heart! Bottom line is that this just should have been handled differently. And a follow up conversation is all I asked for. read more

By far, the best experience I've ever had with horses. Absolutely thrilling. Even better than the thrill, we learned so much about how to understand horses, how to bond with them, and how to better communicate with them. We came out of it having had an INCREDIBLE time and being better riders to boot. Michelle and Cheryl were amazing teachers. Plus they have super cute ranch pups Elijah and Bandit. Not to mention, the unbeatable scenery. We really felt like cowboys and cowgirls. 10/10 would recommend and would ride again. Ps: these pics don't even do it justice. read more

I'm someone who doesn't have much experience with horses, so I was a little anxious at first being around so many of them at once. However, I had such a wonderful experience here at Jacob's Ranch! If you're looking for an adventure and an adrenaline rush on a horse, I highly recommend this place. Please note this is not your typical horseback ride, where you are assigned a horse and walk nose to tail on in a straight line for an hour. After experiencing the Moonlight Ride package, here's what makes this place unique: *You get to pick your horse! Our wrangler Josh was very entertaining and thorough. He went through each horse and described their personalities. We were then given time to meet them and choose. *You are taught how to bond with the horse to build trust. This was my favorite part! By the time you are done with this, your horse will naturally follow you. I made a new horse friend, named Ninja. *They take you through inclines, down deep inclines, up steep inclines, on a trot, and if you're feeling brave, on a gallop! I appreciated that they offered different intensity levels while on the trail. I went with the easy option, but it was still fun and intense in my opinion. Things to note: *You will spend around 3-4 hours of training, and 4 hours of actual riding. *You will get very dirty during this ride due to all the dust being kicked up by the horses on the trail. I recommend bringing wet wipes, wearing a face mask or bandana, a cowboy hat (protected me from tree branches, and for aesthetics of course), and sunglasses. *You have to bring your own food and cook it as well during the the campfire part. This was a little misleading during that 30min sales pitch over the phone with Jackson. He said that there would be s'mores...but that's only if you bring it yourself. Lol *If you are new to riding, you will be so sore the next day! This is a workout. Overall, this was a great experience that you'll never forget. Thank you to the wranglers Josh, Carl, and Dane for being so welcoming and kind! read more

Great ride! Tour was over three hours where we got to go to a couple of creeks for the horses, gallop and even run if you wanted to. The scenery was beautiful! Our guide was excellent and very knowledgeable. It was hot (but our fault for picking a 3 hour ride at that time). I would say 5-stars for the ride and the tour guide, only reason I have 4 stars was because I felt that the politics at the ranch was unnecessary, the prayer at the beginning was fine, although I'm not religious, and there was some misinformation on pricing, but the ride, horses and guide were all great! read more

If you call a Ranch to inquire about a sunset ride for 3 on that day and the person you speak to at the Ranch says they have availability and will call you right back, you'd be excited, right? Well if 2 hours pass, you might give a call back to check on things, right? Well that's what we did only to be greeted by the same person we originally spoke to yelling expletives into the phone, stating he was blocking our number and telling us we are not welcome back at the ranch (literally as we picked up the phone bc he recognized our #). It may be helpful for Jacob's Ranch to get a separate phone line for work conference calls since it seems we interrupted one by calling the # on the website. Overall, a 1 star experience that led us to wonder how we would be treated if we made it to the Ranch and spent a couple hours with this company. Luckily there are other options in Zion. Jacobs Ranch isn't a lost cause, it may just require revisiting common courtesy principles with whoever is answering the phone as I doubt anyone would appreciate being greeted with a F Bomb (so angry) when checking on a reservation. Best of luck Jacobs Ranch! read more

I cannot say enough about the amazing experience the staff of Jacob's Ranch provided to me and my family. The experience began with Jackson who is an incredible story teller. Jackson gave us the information we needed to ensure we were well prepared for our trip. When we arrived we were met by Landis who got us all checked in and took us through safety checks and made sure we were comfortable all throughout our ride. Then we met Josh and the show stealer, Charlie, his little dog who lives for a good adventure. Josh is nothing short of amazing. A real cowboy. He got us to bond with and love on the horses. He really has a kind heart. when my back went out and I couldn't trot any longer, Josh stayed by my side with my husband to make sure I WAS OK. The whole experience is fantastic and my family couldn't be happier. Oh, and before I forget, there is another wrangle there, Michelle. Michelle loves cookies and loves to ride. She was bad ass taking us up and over the hills and mountains. She is a cowgirl and made sure I was ok when my back went out and she gave me helpful tips to get through the last hour. Again, Jacobs Ranch is a must do for every family. Oh, and who ever posted about them being racist or whatever is just not true. I have a biracial family and everyone was kind to us and there were no issues. It sucks that we even have to make it an issue. Happy trails! read more

I tried to book a trail ride but had a horrible time. I called the number and the owner told me I had to download the app telegram to speak to him. Once connected through telegram he proceeded to tell me he was having problems with the government and they were listening to his phone calls. I told him I wanted to book a ride for myself and my daughter. He talked forever and then said to call him back when I could be on speaker with my daughter present because she had to hear what he had to say. When she was on the phone he told us that he was not allowed to do rides anymore BUT we could ride the horses for free as long as we didn't tell any government officials. Then if we loved the experience we could donate money to his feed company in his name. The he went on a rant with my daughter listening cause he said she had to hear this.... he said all slave owners were democrats and every KKK member was a Democrat. And a lot of other inappropriate things my child didn't need to listen to. I spent a total of 5 phonecalls and 3 hours total time on the phone with him and then he asked me to send $500 to his feed company and then he said we could come down for a ride. I said no because I have no way of getting a refund if the ride doesn't happen. He said he turns away 130 people a day and if I don't send it right now he will call them. I said please cancel and ran. This guy is crazy. Run away fast. read more

Was shocked at the horrible racist crap that was said to me on the phone while I was trying to schedule a ride. I called and talked to Jackson who spent 35 minutes talking at me about his views on gun control and who even said that AR15's don't kill people (tell that to the 17 children who just lost their lives). I said nothing and let him talk. He said he needed to talk to all parties before scheduling and I told him I'd call back. I did and he was busy and said then he'd call me back. My last name is Khan. Clearly he has caller ID and saw this because when he called me back and I answered the phone he proceeded to say in a horrible middle eastern accent "Is this mohammed saadat hussien ali baba with ties to jihad from chicago?" My jaw hit the floor. I told him I'd call him back. I got my bf on the phone, who just came back from a Wounded Warrior fundraiser, and we were trying to schedule a ride and Jackson thought it would be funny to imply that I am a terrorist???? I am shaking. I cannot belive this just happened. I am SO disappointed and offended. Then when confronted, he said he was sorry. That he thought it was funny and then told us that wouldn't you know it but he did this to another customer and turns out his last name was also Khan. I said really? What a coincidence. I cannot believe they allow this man to treat potential customers in this manner. He even admited it was not the first time he'd done this. Needless to say, we will not be patronizing this business due to that highly insensitive and tasteless "joke" read more

I hate to base an entire review off a phone conversation, but it was such an odd experience that I need to say something. I called looking to book a horse ride when we were staying in Virgin, and the guy who answers the phone proceeds to ask me to download a third party app to speak to him citing bad cell service. A little odd, but not totally crazy given the areas cell service. He then keeps texting me, which made no sense how he could text but had no service. He refused to tell me via text if he had an opening for Wednesday, and insisted I downloaded the app to speak to him. After we got back from hiking I was rather intrigued by this situation, plus I do like the whole abide by the first amendment spiel they have on their website. We attempt to reach the company and play phone tag for what seems like FOREVER where we get ahold of the guy and then he drops off or vice versa. Finally I gave the phone to my husband in case this was a Nigerian scam that ended in our deaths or some weird thing. The man on the other line wanted all of the family present on the call, including my 9 year old daughter who has zero decision making say in this horse ride. That was weird. We were going to do it, but then he gets a call from his "boss" and needs to call us back. Wait, aren't we the boss? The ones trying to book a ride? So weird. So now it's 9pm and in all of the back and forth he did throw out there that Tuesday at 9am could be an option. We would just have to rearrange our whole day in less than 12 hours. I was over it at this point, but intrigued by the lack of customer service. He then calls at 9:30pm, which I don't answer, and he starts texting me to "get serious" if I want to book this horse ride. What? Like my 10 calls and texts all day didn't give off my "seriousness?" Anyway, safe to say we passed on the ride. Just had to share this moment in case any other lucky callers run into the man I dubbed "horse." read more

This is a wrangler led excursion, mostly nose to tail with the freedom to trot and gallop in the areas where you can. You will spend a significant part of your day (our group of 9 took 3 hours - and yes, you pay per hour for this part too) just getting to the riding portion. First, you'll listen about what they want your day to be. Then listen about the horses. Next, you'll prepare to choose your horse "for the day" based on a wrangler's descriptions of their personalities, listen carefully. The selection process can take a while in larger groups because each person needs to select which horse they want and may need to reselect if someone else takes their first choice. Next, you'll brush your own horse (to show the horse you care) as you establish a relationship with the horse. This can be a very helpful time to bond with your horse if you let it. Then you'll take turns going in the round to work with your horse. They explain and show you how to do this, helping your horse trust you (you'll need it for this ride). They look for signs of trust: "licking lips and chewing" according to the wranglers. Saddling the horses takes a while. Eat!! Let the wranglers do this unless you really want to help, and drink plenty of water and use the restroom (a small dirty outhouse with a toilet that moves when sat on, but it works). Once your horse is saddled you can mount your horse to get accustomed to it and walk around the area as much as your horse with allow. ASK FOR A SADDLE BAG. Take a full lunch, LOTS of water (1 liter per person per hour is recommended for hiking and this is essentially that except your horse is doing the walking). Treat this next portion of your day as a hiking day with a horse. A water backpack is great, or 2-3 large metal thermoses. Our group felt like communication about the trail ride could have been more clear. When we said a couple times about my 6 year old nephew and my 7 year old daughter not wanting to ride alone, they accommodated. We (my brother and I) also said we'll take them out for about 30 minutes and see how they do, well....it doesn't work that way. They take you on the trail and unless YOU TELL THEM you want to go back, they won't take you. They're leading the group on their adventure. Enjoy it! You'll walk through creeks, up and down hills, and see great landscape along the way. This is a working ranch, and it's not all clean. You'll see old cars, old barns. Trash cans, dust and grime. It's ok. Just enjoy the day. My 9 year old son went on a horse they said was like a baby sitter because she would look after her rider even if they felt nervous. That's why my son chose her (Ms. Kitty). She and he did great for the first half of the trek, but the second half she became stubborn and wouldn't go with our group on the trail we chose - one is flatter and more direct to get back, the other more strenuous and narrow on the hillsides. She must have known she was too tired for that upper, strenuous trail because she refused even the pull of one of the 2 wranglers who travelled with us to go. She ended up taking my son with the smaller group that went on the lower, flatter trail. My son isn't normally this independent, but he said he was good to go with that group on his own while the 7 of us went on the other trail - and we couldn't see each other along the way except a small section. After about 30 minutes of up and down and narrow paths on the hillside, we were reaching the flatter section of the trail leading back to the ranch. I look up and see my son on a hill with 2 unridden horses (2 that came with us saddled and ready if my daughter and nephew decided to ride solo) and still riding Ms. Kitty. He was alone. Nowhere in sight was the other wrangler and his group. He was fine, came down a hill to get to us all on his own, but he was left alone. That's NOT ok. At the time, I assumed the other wrangler sent him to us, but I later came to find out that it was because Ms. Kitty wasn't listening and brought my son off on his own and the wrangler didn't do anything - not even a call to another wrangler for help. My son is fine. I'm incredible proud of his independence especially since he has never ridden a horse on his own before. But I would be very aware that you'll need to communicate with your wranglers very clearly and unapologetically if your kids or those who are recovering from horse trauma are coming with you. In my opinion, your time clock for per hour should begin when you take the ring to work your horse. $24/hour per person adds up quickly - and it is cash only unless you do a friends and family payment through PayPal). If you're ready for a different type of horse back riding experience, go. Just be prepared. read more

My boyfriend and I went on the sunset ride a few weeks ago with Josh. This is a must have experience if you are visiting Zion; it was our favorite part of the trip. My boyfriend is a first time rider. His horse, Cricket, was patient and took great care of him, and Josh had them galloping up hills in no time! All of the horses looked well taken care of and they are perfectly trained. The three hour ride was the perfect amount of time to see the best of Utah. Josh kept us entertained throughout the ride with his humor and knowledge of the area. Hopefully we will be back in the area soon! We will definitely come ride again! read more

Hands down the best ride in America. We didn't want to go on another horse tour in the USA because in times past we basically paid to walk horses. By Gods grace we were lead to Jacobs ranch! The ride was Awesome! We got to GALLOP and Ride all through the Canyons. Our instructor Ivy was terrific! She saw how much fun we were having and just added to it. The tour just got better and better. If we are ever in Zion again no question about it, we will be going back to Jacobs Ranch. Truly our vacation highlight. Btw the price was well worth it, we did a 3 hour tour and the time started once we were actually on the horse. Highly recommend Jacobs Ranch for a outstanding experience in Zion! read more

I had a great experience here. The staff was friendly, considerate, and very skilled. We went on a beautiful ride, practiced some skills, and got to ride horses that were well trained just plain fun. This was much more than a pony ride or a trot around a loop. Thank you for having me, thank you for sharing with me. Your operation is classy and high quality. Hope you are all doing well. read more

We fell in love with these horses after driving past them leaving Zion Park so I decided to give Jacobs Ranch a call to see what they offered. Upon calling, I spoke with Jakson who was one of the most friendliest, and helpful salesmen. I told Jakson that I wanted to take my 5 yr old and 2 yr old out on a ride with me, and to my surprise he happily obliged. On the day of the ride, we were greeted by Cowboy Joshua with the biggest smile, and the warmest demeanor. He put my 5 year old on a large horse (she's only ridden on a pony!) and had my 2 year old ride with me on one of the most tallest, beautiful horses, Dice. We had an amazing time, and because of the instructions given by Joshua my 5 year old rode that horse like a champ. Joshua was the sweetest, most patient, and knowledgeable cowboys that I've ever encountered. More than a cowboy, he is a natural healer. Thanks to all at Jacob's Ranch for accommodating me and my girls. They had the time of their life and an unforgettable experience that they cannot stop talking about it. We appreciate you guys so much! See ya next time. Yeeeeeehaaaaaw read more

I spoke with Jackson on 2/28/2020 at 12pm to ask about horse trails and costs for two people. Jackson was nice but wastes too much time going through a sales pitch that was unnecessary because I was already looking to pay. Jackson did not give me quotes for trail packages because I was trying to surprise my girlfriend and he wanted to talk to both of us at the same time. Fine. Called the next day at 3pm and spoke with Jacob, I believe; could have been Jackson again. I ask for availabilities for today or the next. Jacob talked down to me and said "you want to ask for a horse ride when it's almost 3pm? You need to have a reservation." I told him I thought they had sunset tours and did not know the times so I was just asking. Jacob said the sunset your starts at 3pm. I said ok but what about the next day? What are the availabilities, prices and description of trails? Jacob goes into the exact same long sales pitch when I was trying to give them my money. I said I don't need the sales pitch, I just needed quotes and path descriptions. Jacob took offense and said "well we are the only that let's you canter, trot, gallop, and race horses starting at $29 an hour. I won't give a sales pitch, you have a good day." And hung up on me. Wow really? I'll take my money elsewhere. Learn a little respect. If you are a business man you should appreciate brevity on the phone and easy money. read more

I'm trying to reach the ranch, I called several times because I would like to book tickets, but no one is answering. I called (435) 635-1552, can someone please help me get in contact with them? thanks read more

We had an excellent ride today with Michael (pronounced Michelle). She was an amazing wrangler and a lot of fun to spend the day with. We rode for three hours over gorgeous terrain. The horses were fun but safe and smart. I will definitely be back. read more
