I begged my mom for lessons growing up, but she couldn't afford them. However, she signed me up for a couple of trail rides and they're a core memory. Two decades later and my affinity for horses hasn't wavered, mostly because I moved to Saint George--a town where I'm surrounded by these gentle giants in every direction I go. Naturally, my 5-year-old daughter loves horses too and wanted to take lessons. I took her to a different facility that showed a bunch of red flags, so we didn't go back there. Then, I found Shauna at Haskell Riding Academy and instantly clicked with her when we met. What started as an inquiry for my daughter ended up with me taking lessons instead. I started riding with Shauna two months ago and it has quickly become my favorite form of therapy. My stress instantly turns to stillness at the stable gates. Anyone can benefit from being in the presence of these sensitive souls--they're very healing beings. I highly recommend getting lessons with Shauna. Learning a new skill as an adult can be intimidating, but she's very patient, kind, and knowledgeable. I really appreciate how particular she is about doing things. She'll always explain why she does it a certain way, and it always makes perfect sense. There's a reason her horses age gracefully, like Tag who I've been riding. He's in such great shape, I would have never guessed he's 29! Also, some of her horses have blue eyes/pink skin and they wear protective masks to reduce their risk of cancer. These are just a couple testaments to how much she loves and cares for her horses. Here's a photo of me and my daughter, Shauna let her join me at the end of my lesson. It was such a nice surprise, my daughter loved it. I'm looking forward to growing as a rider and can't wait for my daughter to start riding when she's a bit older. I know she'll be in good hands with Shauna!

You can tell when someone enjoys what they do! I feel like we could've spent hours out on the water if it didn't get quite choppy with the wind trying to head back to the dock. We lucked out and it was just the 3 of us out on the water for the tour, me and my sweetie in a double canoe. Bill took pictures of us and while crunched in a canoe with a life vest isn't a flattering look for me, I certainly didn't care at the time. We even helped clean up the area with our haul of trash! The water was warm and we definitely wanted to return but the weather was rainy for the days after. We will return when we can! Thank you so much to Bill and Ken and Josh for such an experience!! It was worth it!! And Bill, you touched our hearts when you said you missed my dad (having only heard stories of him that day!).

We came with a group from Red Mountain Resort. My friend and I (both of us not young) were both excited and very scared. Todd was confident we could do it so we believed him. He was clear with his explanations and instructions, very patient and very supportive...and we did it! I was a bit worried about flooding the engine which came with a $500 fee that i had read about in other reviews. Because of this i kinda took it easy and didn't do any crazy high speed turns to avoid flipping which floods the engine. I also read a few things on the internet about how to avoid flooding the engine. The big one was if it dies and someone tows you in make sure they go slower than 5 MPH, because dragging it thru the water at higher speeds pulls water into the engine and floods it. It was my first time on a jet ski, they excellerate very quickly like a motorcycle. It took me a little while to get used to the speed, but eventually got it to full throttle, i just dialed it down when it got choppy. The staff was helpful and friendly. The jet skis all seemed pretty new and we had no problems with them. They say each jet ski can hold 3 people but they suggest only 2 per as it increases the chances of flooding the engine. Also if you fall off, be careful when getting back on, thats how you can easily flip the jet ski and flood it. There was also a swimmers itch warning, which is a harmless parasite that leaves a rash on your skin. Although it was the season for it and warning signs, no one encountered any of this. We all had a blast, some tips; bring sunscreen or wear long sleeves to protect you from the sun, if you have sunglasses make sure you have a lanyard that keeps them around your neck in case they come off. There was also a $20 fee at the entrance to the park for non Utah residence, which we did not anticipate. Over all a fun and exciting experience.

Because this is the only option on-site, you just have to accept the price. But I would say the main negative was that the rental itself was pretty beaten up. The kill switch clip was broken, and the steering was great. At least the kids running the place were chill about the issues and didn't try and blame us. Not all rental places are like that.
