We stopped in here around 8:30 on a Friday night and our group of 4 was quickly seated. The restaurant has a good feel to it with nice lighting. The table we were seated at was quite large but it wasn't too crazy in there so we could hear each other fine. I ordered a pepperoni pizza and a side of brussels sprouts. Apparently that is a strange combination according to my dinner mates but I thought it was perfect. The was good, but didn't blow me away or anything. But the brussels sprouts were really, really good. They were roasted with some sort of sweet sauce, maybe honey? So good that one of my companions ordered some for herself after tasting. I have been here only a few times. First time I ate outside food was tasty and affordable no complaints. Then recently 3/13 I met a friend for dinner we decided to go indoors It was busy but we were able to sit at the bar. The bartender said hello gave me a menu and that is were the courtesy ended. I waved him down for my drink, then my friend showed up and sat for twenty minutes before once again I had to wave him down. There were ten people at the bar. I understand that he was also making drinks for the restaurant, but still you need to check in. Long story short this went on all night, it was like we were bugging him when we asked to order dinner or another glass of wine. So we enjoyed dinner then I asked for the bill, it never came, twenty minutes later we asked again and finally got it. We both had our card on the bar for another twenty minutes when I grabbed his attention again to ask if we could cash out( this is going on 45 minutes from when I first asked for the bill). He turns to us and snaps. " have you seen me stop moving? ". The walked away mumbling "f;!& ing something " under his breath, but just because you have a mask we can still hear you. We were shocked especially because we did not feel we were being unreasonable. We both have worked in the service industry so we completely understand being overwhelmed and how things work so that response was completely unacceptable. My friend even knew the owner and the bartender saw us talking to him, yet he still was very rude. We let him know on our measly tip and left a note about our experience. All he had to say was "omg I am so sorry I am so busy etc" we would of completely understood, but to bark at us and then curse at us is uncalled for. This restaurant is very deceiving. Upon first glance it appears to be just another coffee shop from the street. I was fortunate enough to have some friends recommend this unique spot. My first visit was with a group of 9 people on a Saturday evening. They were able to accommodate us when we called ahead a couple days prior. When we arrived the space was ready for us and there was no wait. Given that there was heavy rain it would have been helpful to know that there was parking available across the street. Our waiter, Aaron took great care of us. Rarely was there an empty glass and he was very knowledgable about the full menu. Most impressive was the fact he was able to recite the full dessert menu (at least ten items) from memory. The ribeye with sweet potatoes and artichokes were very good. This place would make a great date spot or for a small group. The only downside for our party of nine is that the conversation was inevitably divided in two group due to the set up. My first visit ( last week ) was Amazing. Food was delicious, atmosphere was spot on. I went this evening, we ordered apps and our meals. It took us 1 1/2 hours to receive our apps, and that is because I went up to the host to ask for them and then they were brought out. It took us double that to receive our actually meals that we just ended up getting to go because I couldn't justify sitting in a restaurant that long. It was absolutely ridiculous. I recently had the pleasure of dining at Roam Cafe on Park Ave. I love dining out when I visit Rochester, and Roam exceeded my expectations by far. My party of six chose to dine outside on the charming sidewalk/patio area. We were instantly seated by a very gracious and friendly host. Our server was very nice, friendly and attentive. I enjoyed a delicious local Ithaca Brewing craft beer while watching the colorful locals saunter by. Our food arrived promptly and was absolutely phenomenal. Everything was outstanding. The Buffalo Chicken Thighs, Share Plate & White Pizza were out of this world. One of the women at our table was strictly gluten free and the menu was extremely accommodating for her needs. The service was top notch. The proprietors, a lovely husband and wife combo came over and greeted us personally. For dessert we enjoyed a rich, dark chocolate coated peanut butter ball. It was so good, words can't even describe it. The espresso martini/espressotini I finished with was one of the best I've ever had (And I'm an expert). The rest of my party enjoyed scrumptious looking cappuccinos and lattes. Don't let the previous negative (impossible to please) groupon crowd reviews fool you, Roam Cafe is one of the best you'll find out there. Nice location and ambiance, food was good but service was indifferent. After we were seated it took more than 25 minutes for the server to greet us, then another 15 minutes for her to take our order. Roam Cafe is so underrated. This place is fantastic. When you walk in everything is so bright and fresh, it is a great vibe. Everything is super clean and new. One of my favorite things about Roam is that they have outlets all underneath the bar area so you can charge your phone while you sit, which as a female is a huge plus for me. The drinks are delicious. If you haven't yet tried their Espresso Martini, you haven't lived. Their wine is not expensive and they aren't scared to pour you a nice sized glass. Wide selection of beers also! The food has never let me down once. Their fish fry's on Fridays are so delicious. Great amount of food for what you pay for. Their menu is so full of different foods, it is definitely hard to pick one thing. A lot of healthier options too which is a nice change from the normal greasy bar food you expect at most places. They do brunch on Sundays and their stuffed pancakes are to die for. Lastly, the most important piece of the puzzle, the owner Drew. He is phenomenal. Such a warm and personable guy. He definitely cares about his customers and wants to make each one have a great experience, and if you don't he will try his hardest to fix it for you. Definitely nothing like your average bar owner. You can tell he is a family man and treats everyone with respect. Which is why I will continue supporting his business. You catch him on the right day and he will most likely ask if you would like a shot of Tully on him. Definitely give Roam a try! You will more than likely end up as a repeat customer :) read more

We were a party of 9 for my daughters graduation/birthday. Overall, our party was happy with the food. We had a wide variety of orders including pizzas, pastas, sandwiches, apps and a vegan meal. The downside was the restaurant being 95 degrees. It was unbearably hot and we all broke a sweat during our meal. To the point where we all just wanted to finish quickly and leave. What was supposed to be a fun, memorable night quickly turned sticky and uncomfortable. When asked about the temp our waitress just shrugged. The service was also slow and the wait staff was cordial at best, although more it seemed as our waitress had to cover many tables both inside and out. I was not expecting a discount/free anything due to the circumstances but even a "we are so sorry, we know its warm in here" would have gone a long way. I don't see us returning. read more

Went to Roam with a group of friends for dinner. I order the rib eye steak rich sounded appetizing from The menu description. We order the arancini which was delicious. I could have drank a whole cup of that sauce. Everyone else got pizza which looked good and seemed to please. The steak came out well done and was order as medium. Even though it was over cooked to my order I still ate it. Now as a red meat loving man I would usually just eat the steak and be happy about it. But this rib eye had zero marbeling and was cut very poorly. Had very little taste and just looked unappealing. Side of zucchini was cold and mashed potatoes were just ok. Have you ever been in the mood to have an espresso AND a test drive a scooter at the same time? If so, Roam Cafe is your dream spot! Roam is probably the most unique cafe in Rochester in that it is both a cafe and a high end Italian motorcycle & scooter dealership. Who knew this was even possible? Those wacky Italians sure do know how to enjoy the finer things in life! The cafe side is serves a variety of standard espresso drinks as well as tasty gelato. The prices are reasonable...we paid $2.50 for a small gelato. The array of motorcycles and scooters on the other side makes you feel like you're in Rome or Florence where cafe culture and scooters are the norm. The sidewalk seating definitely adds to the euro vibe. A fun place to check out! read more

Would give half a star if I could. One of the worst food experiences ever. Ordered steamed clam n never in my life have I been served gritty clam with sand visible on the plate. It was very over cooked and chewy. Then the beef vegetable soup- which I personally think was straight out of the can or it was just beef broth with some veggies and a whole lotta MSG. To be fair, these items were taken off from our bill.. But the waiter seemed displeased with us after that.. Not that it bothered me though. I had the grilled chicken sandwich with avocado hoping it would be simple enough but the avocado was RAW (!!!) and the chicken, pretty tasteless. My husband got the BLT which was ok, nothing extra ordinary but at least not awful. I would like to believe that their chef called in sick that day so they had a newbie working the kitchen. Having said that my last two experiences have been awful First time: great pizza great meatballs and AMAZING fries- however we were siting next to a group who was chain smoking. We asked the waitress if she could seat us else where or ask them to stop and she informed us that those were the owners close friends so she couldn't ask them to stop. Completely ruined my appetite and since I couldn't stop coughing, we ended up getting the food to go. I really like that this place is on the other end of Park, away from the busyness that a lot of the other restaurants have. We didn't have to wait to be seated, and I love the outdoor tables. The inside is nice as well, quiet and has a really nice ambiance about it. There's also an area for larger parties. I got the standard bacon, eggs, home fries and toast brunch and it was pretty good. The home fries are what stood out though, not sure what they season them with but they were amazing. My friend got the cinnamon French toast and loved it. Good food + two dollar mimosas makes for a good way to start a Sunday. My only qualm, took a little longer than we were expecting to be served and get our bill settled. Maybe it was just the time we were there, but I wouldn't suggest coming here if you were in any sort of a hurry. It wasn't bad, but we had other things to do. We went to Roam restaurant on Friday. Per my neighbor recommended! I was not impressed at all. First we walked in the hostess was doing something with phone but never acknowledge us until the bartender greeted us then she said hello. I ordered 28 days aged ribeye steak, it was sorta fatty and was not hot. My friend ordered baked fish he liked it. I was not impressed with my steak and there was no breads or salad when entree costs over 24 bux?? Well I am always trying to support my park ave merchants and most of the time I am unhappy with the food and feeling I am getting ripped off by them. Walked past and saw two gutter punks on a weird date splitting an IPA. Sat inside and watched Spanish espn for a few minutes before looking at their drink menu. It was all stuff I never heard of before so I just got a rum and coke. A lady in a neck brace came in and made everyone uncomfortable. I ordered a two more rum and cokes and got my $80 bill. Went to the bathroom to see if there was a window I could slip thru to get out of paying the bill but it was air tight. The vents were well sealed too. I sucked it up and paid the bartender who has all the same tattoos as Angelina Jolie but that's about all they have in common. 1 star. read more

This place is located right down the block from me so I decided to give it a try. Other reviews have said service is spotty but when I was there it was great . Not only was our waiter efficient and attentive, I personally witnessed another waitress literally chase a customer for several blocks to return a sweater she left behind. Their meatball and riceball were delicious and enormous - more than big enough to share. I've been here before for brunch, but that was over a year ago, and it was much better then. They have excellent mimosas for $2 a pop- a little on the small side, but still good. Their coffee, when fresh, is excellent. It wasn't busy at all, which was great. We got a table outside under the awning, and it's gorgeous out, so that was lovely. The menu seems to shrink every time I'm here so this morning I checked it out online- still small but whatever. I figured out what I wanted before I left home, but the menu was different when we got there. Our waitress kept forgetting things- spoons, salt, creamer... We eventually played the game of guessing which item she'd leave inside. She had a nice enough personality I guess, but wasn't cut out for waitressing. I love this place! I just started going there last summer. They have the best cauliflower wings in the city, but then again I have only tried them from this place and The Owl house, but the ones at ROAM are far superior. I've only ordered a couple things here, but I've been satisfied every time. My favorite things on their menu are the cauliflower wings, the veggie pesto pizza, and a tofu sandwich they once had. I just wish they had more vegan and vegetarian options, but they still have a decent amount and at least there's more options than a salad without meat. I love how they have such a range of food options, there seems to almost be something there for everyone. My one issue with them is that I feel that they let the restaurant get too crowded during COVID. They have a decent outdoor area though, and I will go to the outdoor section soon. 8/10 definitely recommend! read more

A few friends and I came here for Sunday brunch - the place was neither super busy nor dead, but they only had 2 people on staff, which seemed to end up hindering the speed of the service. We waited about 15 minutes before being waited on. The food was delicious - the steak and eggs were cooked to perfection, and their take on home fries was wonderful! The only downside was that the Bloody Mary's tasted really strange - kind of like it was cocktail sauce and vinegar. If the service was better, I'd definitely be back there! read more

Wonderful and comfy restaurant. Waitress well informed and engaging. We are vegans and there were ample options though there can always be more. We shared the crispy artichoke dish with dip and it was perfect. The house salad was full of varied veggies, fresh local lettuce, and a delicious balsamic vinegarette. I had the Pizza Rustica and my wife the Pizza Pesto. Both had crispy crusts made from dough sourced from a local bakery and then rolled out and cooked in-house.
