The French Onion Soup was just like I remember it as a kid! It's delicious and very traditional. The restaurant is cozy inside and I love the big booths. They make it feel pretty private even if it's crowded and loud. The potato skins were yummy - nothing to write home about. The Caesar salad had good flavor, but the steak I got with it tasted off (although it was tender) and one of my pieces was totally raw inside. Not good. Didn't try the drinks, but their fall specials sounded so yummy! Service was fine - the manager came by and made jokes w/ us. Overall would come back for old times sake, but would 100% stick with the classics next time.

If you're looking for Great food and Excellent Service in the Rochester N.Y. Area. Be sure to check out McArtle's, a family owned restaurant in the Fairborn area. They make excellent cocktails and we enjoyed a delicious dinner of Prime Rib and Beef tenderloins with bay scallops. The service is great and John the owner, personally delivered our food and did a follow up to make sure everything was first rate. They have a robot server named "Rosie" that assists the servers by bringing your food to the table for your server to serve you. This works great as it allows the server to spend more time serving the customers and avoids those large trays that clutter up the aisle ways in some restaurants. It's also a great conversation piece and it shows off the food as it passes your table. Everything looks great. The prime rib was cooked perfectly and the beef tenderloin was so tender you didn't need a knife. The Chicken French was also very good. The Haddock was perfectly cooked and they went the extra mile to handle our special carrots request. Our party of seven were very pleased. The also have excellent menu items for the Vegan members of the family The tall wooden booths give you the" Irish Tavern "feel while allowing you to be able to carry on a conversation at your table. The portions are generous and fairly priced. We didn't try dessert as we were comfortably full. But the desserts that went by looked yummy. Service was great, they make you feel welcome And want you to come back. (You can join their loyalty program for additional savings.) The restaurant is very accessible allowing seniors to get in easily.

Ate here for the first time tonight and I will definitely be back! I got the fish fry and it was very good. My husband got mashed potatoes as a side and they were delicious! They even have a kid's menu, which I was not expecting! Your typical bar type restaurant setting, but with a robot that carries the food out! Our server was very friendly and attentive.

This past St. Patrick's day I came to McArdle's with some friends to try corned beef and cabbage for the first time. They gave me the soup of the day (bangers and potato soup) for my starter and it was very delicious! The corned beef in my main platter was pretty good and they gave me a lot of food overall. My vegetables were a little bland at first, but the seeded mustard added an interesting kick to my meal! The service was kind of fun because they had a little robot that would assist the waiters in bringing platters to customers. Since it was St. Patrick's day, they invited two bagpipe players to circle the restaurant and though it was a little noisy, it was a fun experience! Overall, I enjoyed my holiday at McArdle's!

My family and I came for St. Patricks Day dinner and we were excited to see we had come at the right time, so it was not very busy. The food was hot and delicious, just what we were hoping for. It got quite busy while we were waiting for our food, but it was not super loud and cramped like the many other restaurants and bars on St. Patrick's Day, and we were thankful for it. We also love the little robot that brought us our food! Super cute and fun. We cannot wait to come back next year, and just for lunch or dinner throughout the year!

Went out for my husband's birthday & tried a new local restaurant. I used the Resy app it sent two confirmed emails , and one cancelation. My husband called & they made one under his name because they couldn't see mine. We get there on time give our name, they said they need a few tables go clear and we would be seated, 15mins go by we hear the manager go up and ask about various reservations the girl said we hadn't shown up. My husband walks over and tells them we've been sitting there & they get us a table. I order one of their Fall Sunrise Mocktails, I don't know what it is supposed to look like but of the 4 things listed I only could taste club soda & apple cider. We order two apps fried mushrooms & the pretzel, as well as the vegan ravioli & beer battered haddock. I tell the waitress I have a dairy & sesame allergy. She says "They put butter on the pretzel is that ok?" I tell her,"butter is dairy" She just looks at me. The manager stops by after she walks away informs us the mushroom batter has dairy but he can switch it. He'll figure out something for the pretzel. Apps were the best part of the experience! The waitress comes over, the Tatar sauce & coleslaw both have dairy, We know everything is made from scratch but the tartar sauce makes no sense. The manager stops by they add milk to one & sour cream to the other, pick different sides, they can give cocktail sauce. In hindsight we probably should have just said let's grab something somewhere else. We took the fish home & his substituted applesauce. My ravioli were supposed to have fried chickpeas, definitely not and I got half a cans worth. The manager stopped by at the end and said in hindsight he could have made up a tartar sauce. He gave us two tokens for drinks next time we came in. He was really nice but that's too much stuff in one hour especially for the price paid.

Reservations can be hard to come by and go quickly. I found information on reservations from The DeLand House on Main Facebook page. When you arrive the entrance is tucked away on the side. There was an employee at the door who greeted us and asked for our reservation name. He then asked us for the password which I did not remember. Thankfully he gave us a hint. The experience of getting to the bar area is very fun. As this is a speakeasy the entrance is hidden in plain sight. You must go up a flight of stairs, down a hallway, and from there you'll need to find a certain button to reveal an additional flight of stairs. We really enjoyed the spectacle of this part. We got to the bar area and were surprised by how packed it was. We had a table with a view next to a lovely window seat (great photo opportunity) The decor is fun and inviting. We also enjoyed the beautiful plates and silverware. Service was wonderful. Every employee we encountered was engaging and we felt they made effort to make the experience special. Food and drinks were enjoyable. The signature cocktails are 15 dollars a piece. Beer (canned) and wine is also available. I ordered the corpse reviver no 2. Cocktail. Lightly sweet and fruity. The menu offers a variety of small plates. We tried the chicken meatballs, whipped mozzarella & balsamic tomatoes, and lemon creme profiteroles. Everything was tasty but nothing mind blowing. My favorite were the lemon creme profiteroles which featured a triple berry coulis. The flavors were refreshing and summery. The seating area did have some cool air flow through from time to time but after being up there for a bit we started to feel warm. Overall, The Blind Pig is a very fun and unique experience. One of a kind for this area and makes for a fun night out.

We enjoyed the setting (we secured a couch) for the two of us. The drinks were very good, although at least the first one I had was a bit small (more in the second). Really enjoyed the combinations. And it'snice that they have non-alcoholic versions for those who prefer that. The small bites, in my opinion were outstanding, and we sampled everything we could (except the peanuts). It's not quite a full meal, however, even after sharing 5 of the offerings so we went elsewhere afterwards for a bit more. I do like that they let you linger and don't push you, though we were out in about an hour and a half. For 2 (three cocktails, 1 glass of wine, 5 small plates, $103.72 + 20% tip, $124.46. I would recommend that everyone try this at least once (though I'm unsure if it is accessible for those with mobility issues. A lot of stairs in an old building. Finally, I commend the owners for all that they are doing at the Deland House. Lots of innovative project and a fascinating place for weddings and banquets. Though I do miss the ol' Mr. Dominic's.

At $117 for the two of us, including tax and tip, we expected a lot more than we got. Let's start with the positives. Our waiter was friendly and attentive. The building itself is a converted bank, and the old vault is a striking architectural feature, though we didn't dine in it. The restaurant also deserves credit for offering some vegan options, including one vegan entrée. That said, the issues outweighed the highlights considerably. The noise level was genuinely awful. We were at a table of eight and had trouble hearing each other. The space felt sparse and cold, not in a minimalist-chic way, but in an unfinished way. The whole "Bonnie and Clyde" theme has such strong possibilities it's a shame they didn't pursue them. The food was mediocre and overpriced. I ordered two vegan sides instead of an entrée: French fries and a roasted beet salad. I asked the waiter to prepare the fries vegan-style with just ketchup, but they arrived with two sides of non-vegan aioli anyway. The fries themselves were average. The beet salad was fine but small and forgettable. My wife ordered the king trumpet mushrooms, the only vegan entrée on the menu. The mushrooms were decent, nothing more. Her cocktail special, a kiwi and vodka drink, was watery and bland. A few other frustrations: the vegan items are not labeled as such on the menu, which is an easy fix that would doubtless help many diners. There is only one vegan entrée, which feels thin. And Lagunitas non-alcoholic beer is available, but you would never know it, since it does not appear on the drinks menu. We will not be returning.

There was street parking available in front of the restaurant and on either side of the street. When we walked in the first thing I noticed was the decor. Everything was beautifully decorated and so welcoming. The bar was to the right and the host stand a little further up. I didn't get a picture when we walked in but there was the cutest orange stand and a sign with an arrow pointing to the host stand. They had live music that night and it was pretty busy. Once we were seated we did wait for some time before someone came to greet us but the person that sat us did bring us water. When someone came over they were very apologetic for the wait and let us know there may be a little delay with the food but was very proactive with making drink recommendations and took our food order before leaving the table. Our drinks were delicious! I got the coconut lime margarita and it was so flavorful. My friend got the espresso martini and she said it was so good. We enjoyed the music while we waited and all of the waitresses would check on us anytime they walked by. We ordered a second round of drinks and I got the pistachio martini and my friend got the crème brûlée martini and both were great. I really like this restaurant because they offer small plates so my friend and I picked a few we both wanted to try. We got the stuffed gnocchi flight, arancini classico, and ahi tuna martini. All 3 were 10/10 on the taste scale. My favorite of the gnocchi flight is the one with pesto. The arancini was so tasty and the sauce that came with them was a perfect pairing. The cilantro crema on the ahi tuna martini was the star of the dish. Overall, this was an incredible dining experience and I'd love to come again to try some items from their dessert menu and on a night with no live music.

They also have a surprisingly large food menu, but we just had cocktails and dessert. Drinks were just OK, but the desserts were great! Definitely recommend the chocolate raspberry cake. My only critique is that the table arrangement is setup more like a restaurant than a lounge and the decor is a bit random. If they made it feel a bit more loungey, I think it would improve the overall vibe.

He ordered the "make it a plate with mac salad and fries" but the wings came out solo. When I reminded the waitress they were missing she immediately went to correct that but it still took about 15 minutes to come out. She comped us a Coke for the wait which was sweet but not necessary. Fries were unique, like steak fries but thinner and less mealy. They were almost roughed up or lightly breadcrumbed. We liked. Big disappointment in the mac salad. It tasted like a gluten free option and weirdly crumbled as I chewed. I almost spit it out. Very strange. I'm not sure if I'd go back.
