The place and view are truly amazing. The staff was awesome. The food was good pub food . All total a great evening

Fun place to eat. We ordered some appetizers and shared. The oysters were really tasty. Service was good. We docked a boat and walked up from the marina with ease. They were busy on a Saturday but we were able to wait for our table at the bar. The brewery has quite a few beer options, but most appeared to be IPAs. All in all this is a great place to eat. read more

Loved the vegetarian beeteroni pizza, Irish nacho fries, and the bowl (can't remember the name!). So delicious!! The beer is incredible too. Has the hibiscus rosé beer was on point! read more

River Outpost Brewing Co. - Yummmmmmmm!!!!!!! - Brewpubs Near Me - Peekskill, New York

I had respect for Louie Lanza for revitalizing the City of Peekskill. But a fret last's visit to River Outpost that has changed. First of all there is a credit card surcharge and I was never informed. I feel all merchants should continue to absorb that charge, it is the cost of doing business. The menu has changed dramatically. Very limited choices and the prices were Manhattan prices. I know restaurants want to make up lost revenue from COVID, but why on the customer's backs. Service was stellar before COVID, last night's was awful. The band that was playing was so loud and didn't recognize any of the music. I will not return to the Outpost nor any of Lanza's restaurants. Bring back last year's menu with the prices and the service that they provided in past years and I will rethink my decision. In the meantime I don't recommend the Ougpost now. read more

Beautiful location for a brewery! We stopped here on a mini-brewery tour. The pictures of this place do not show how beautiful the location is. The primary beer I wanted to get was kicked so I was a bit disappointed but overall the other selections were great. Food - we order a bunch of appetizers and all of them were great. I especially loved the green pizza which I would drive back for. Atmosphere - this place can't get any better with an arcade, corn hole, and a ropes course all in one. This would be great place to have a few drinks while your kids had their own fun. read more

Cool place on shore to have beers and great appetizers. We came across this nice outdoor after a hike up Bear Mountain.. wonderful seating and good music.. read more

Hostess was incredibly rude. We asked to sit under the tent to avoid the cold, blistering wind. She very rudely told us those tables were reserved. During our entire stay (one hour) 10 of the tables under the tent were completely empty. When our food was brought out, we were not given silverware. We asked the bus boy, who brought out our food, for silverware. He told us he would be right back. He then proceeded to clear a table where the guests had already left instead of getting us silverware. We had to call him over a second time and ask him again. When he came back he said that he was clearing a table. Why is that a priority over giving guests the basic necessities to eat their food?! The food was ok, but the service was terrible. Rude and incompetent staff. We will take our business elsewhere from now on. read more

The plan was to go to a bar and watch the Jets game. What I did not expect was to have the bar, in effect, inside an indoor arcade. Lots of kids running around playing the different games and in general, having a good time. The brewery is not yet brewing their own beer...that's expected to start about a month from now. The selection of tap beers was sparse (3 to be exact) and the back bar looked understocked as well. Service was prompt and courteous. While I did not play any of the games, the ropes course looked interesting and the table shuffleboard brought back fond memories of my college days. I may return to see the brewery in action, but it looks like this may end up as a date night venue or a hangout for a bunch of dads looking to entertain some kids. read more

5 stars for the view. The food was meh The chicken wings were awesome The pizza wasn't even fully cooked, floppy and greasy. The pretzel bites were cold. There were only a handful of servers we didn't want to bother them. Perhaps other food here is better we just ordered the wrong thing. The beer list was small considering the size of the venue. We thought they would have more captain Lawrence brews. Definitely would go back read more

Nice place by the marina for beer and a snack. We had various brews and the pretzels after visiting West Point. A nice cap to a busy day. The staff was great, very friendly and easy to work with. We'll visit again next time we're in the area. read more

Great view. Had the roasted red pepper hummus. Not bad. Then the burger not bad either. Down for the negative. I ordered a ice tea. Came in a 12 oz plastic cup packed with ice so in actually lucky if there was 5 oz of ice tea in the glass. $4 for that ice tea and to make it worse no free refills. This is Peekskill NY not NYC. read more

So many different crafts peeking in this Peekskill establishment. One of the finest Craft Brewry places had a flight of beers recommended by bartender who was very knowledgeable about River Outpost beers and recipes. Then from the kitchen we had a Humus plate, Wings, and Pretzel snacks with a full compliment of Hot Sauces from thier "Hell on the Hudson" series of Hot sauces. Everything aligned will be back for sure. read more

The Outposts outdoor restaurant is a nice place for cocktails to relax with Marina and Hudson views, but the food we ordered was disappointing. The sandwiches where tasteless, and the fries where cold and old. I would not recommend eating their, but a great spot for Cocktails and appetizers. read more

Great and yummy food ! But we had a service dog and was asked was it for medical when you are not allowed to do that. When we told her she just looked at us like whatever read more

We got takeout and everything was delicious. We got to see the beautiful river view getting our takeout. Only complaint is it is a bit pricey, guess because of the view. $10 for pretzel bites is a bit extreme but they were good. I'd recommend, can't wait to go back without the kids. Definitely a good date night spot. read more

Dined on a busy Friday night at the picnic tables. Service was great, food was good, and had a drink at the bar after where everything was great as well. BUT I didn't know dogs were allowed where we were sitting. A dog came and relieved himself (both number one and two) right next to our table. I honestly lost my appetite. While I understand that dogs have to use the bathroom too, I don't agree that they should be in a seating area where people are eating their meals. Unfortunately we won't be returning. read more

The food was okay but after we dined at River Outpost on Saturday November 5th, 2022 and we paid for our dinner the next day I noticed my debit card number was stolen as charges from 2 grub hub locations for different amounts appeared on my bank statement. I was then forced to report my card stolen and get a new one. We highly suspect that there was fraudulent theft activity amongst their wait staff that night because the fraudulent charges did not happen until the day after we dined at your restaurant and have not made and other purchases with that debit card from the time we dined to the time the fraudulent charges were posted. Our waiter's name they evening was Alejandro so beware of this person. I am now reluctant to ever dine in at their establishment again and will not recommend anyone to eat there for fear of their debit card number being stolen and used. read more

Beer was good and reasonably priced. Burger and chicken sandwich were hearty and tasty. Went on opening night and though service was slower than preferred, staff was very friendly and accommodating. Arcade and laser tag was a bonus for the kids. read more

Place is great and fun arcade axe throwing and a brewery and nice view but the service inside was terrible was at the bar waiting for a drink with 3 of my friends / wish I got his name the tall muscled fella served everyone else that came to bar after the 6th person to show up I went over and said I've been sitting there since 6 people came and went then he got a big attitude and said I'll get to you when I get to you and I asked for a manager he used hand motion like waving me away and said I don't have time for this then I walked back to where I was the other guy was coming over and the tall guy said don't serve them he asked for a manager and he walked away / I went there last week he pulled the same thing when I asked for a growler and said I gotta take care of the bar first and did 2 rounds of full bar and no growler anyway I went to the bar outside asked for manager was very attentive and nice over all the place is great and really fun but that guy needs to learn better customer service and or replacement Food is great!!!! read more

I realize that most people go here for all the interesting beers. I am not a beer drinker, but I will still be going back. The food was fabulous - really excellent bar food. The Irish Nachos were ooey and gooey and amazing. One can then feel healthy by having the Poke Bowl, which was fresh and delicious. And the Roasted Brussels....wow! Service was good and the view is lovely. Go see for yourself! read more

We came here specifically to ask about the gun drive R.K. Referenced below. Imagine our surprise to find out that they actually participate in a PBA GUN BUYBACK program. I called to ask if they take reservations for lunch, the woman we spoke with told us they did not take reservations for lunch, it's just walk in's. We made note that we would be there in about 20 minutes. As we arrived, the host, McClain, asked for our reservation. We told him that the woman on the phone said reservations weren't needed for lunch. He proceeded to place our name on the wait list that was over an hour long wait. I counted 6 open tables under the tent behind him. I asked if I could grab a drink while waiting for our table and he said "nope. now I don't know if you have been out dining since this virus, but this is how things work". I understand that these are hard times but this was so condescending, disappointing and unprofessional. I ended up eating at taco dive bar down the road, 20 minute wait, kind and fast service and great food. I will not return to River Outpost. read more

A part of all the new things going on at Charles Point in Peekskill, my family and I decided to go to the River Outpost on 4th of July evening to have some food and perhaps see some of the Peekskill Fireworks. The outdoor seating and the view of the Hudson just can't be beat. The menu has some great selections from Bavarian Pretzels, Personal Pizzas and Salads. The service was quick and everyone was very personable. We ordered the Irish Nachos and Peel and Eat Shrimp for appetizers which were fantastic! For our meals a Personal Pizza, Fried Chicken sandwich and a Salad, and these were all served quickly and were delicious. A great place to come when you want some simple delicious food served in a great atmosphere. read more

The food was quite good. However, I was seated outside at a broken table where the umbrella spins in circles throughout the meal. Very fun especially on a 90 degree day! The waiters would periodically note "that shouldn't spin like that," but were not obliged to help fix it or change our table. Note to management: If it isn't in the budget to replace a table, perhaps you shouldn't seat at it. read more

My girls friends and I went out on a Friday night to celebrate Oktoberfest . We were pretty impressed with the food menu online . But unfortunately we were disappointed once we got to the venue and the menu was terribly outdated and didn't offer anything as listed. Not to mention the beer selection was very limited for it to be a brewery. We really Wanted to try to some different beers. The appetizers were the best things the menu had to offer we ordered Irish Nachos , calamari, and mozzarella sticks! read more

Absolutely not dog friendly. Had a reservation and turned away at the door with my dog. Do not recommend for anyone with a dog.

Great location, beautiful views, terrible service. Felt like the bartender was avoiding the people asking for drinks. It's too bad that this place has great potential but needs some staff and mangement Update: Tried again and no change. Service is sooooo slow. read more

Had a lovely evening out on the water. Wait staff were very friendly. Enjoyed an app-pretzel bites. The nachos at the next table looked scrumptious. Will definitely try that next visit. We had hamburgers and grilled brisket and cheese. Both were really good. We will be coming back! read more

We went here yesterday for lunch. Ordered the "crispy" calamari, it came out drenched in oil, glistening in the sunlight. I ended up in the bathroom sick as a dog. Whoever is in the kitchen needs to learn about frying foods. We've eaten here before and the food is just standard, it's sad that a city with so many restaurants doesn't have a great place to eat, it's all "bar" food. read more

This might be the best spot in Westchester. The patio on the river is second to none. But even inside the bartenders are great and the beer is awesome! They could do a little better with the live music, I've been twice when the bands were canceled. The whole complex is fantastic, the Fin and Brew restaurant upstairs is great too. read more

We stumbled upon the just reopened Patio at River Outpost while taking an extended walk on the Riverwalk in Peekskill on a sunny Saturday afternoon. After months of cooking for ourselves, what pleasure. Sure it was only 50 degrees. It didn't matter. An iced maple old fashioned on a late winter day? Absolutely. Very good calamari and, at least in this picky eater's opinion, an excellent Cubano sandwich was just the antidote for quarantine-osis. It didn't hurt to have a gorgeous sunset over the Hudson. Aaaaaahhhhhhh! read more

What a cool place. The beers really impressed me and I'm not easily impressed. Food was good as well but the beer is where it's at. Then after we finished our meal we threw down $20 and played for awhile in the arcade. Was so much fun. I couldn't think of a better place for a date. Don't miss out on this gem. read more

If this could be a ZERO, I would. This was my second visit. My first was disappointing- my toddler Was served undercooked chicken tenders. On this visit we arrived at 7 pm and out our name down for "an hour wait". We were VERY patient and went to the very crowded bar to order drinks and apps. Bartenders were overall disgruntled and looked like they needed a break. One of the male bartenders was actually very nice and attentive. Everyone else couldn't be bothered. By 8:30 they were ready to seat us. While the rest of my party sat and ordered beverages I waited 30 minutes at the bar to close my tab (again ignored by all bartenders but one). Once seated the waitress felt it was appropriate to vent to us about how much of a "shit show" it was in the kitchen- with a wedding and private parties and the crowd they didn't expect today. She also shared that the wedding was the top priority. We ordered drinks and dinner. One drink came back wrong TWICE. An hour later our waitress came back and said our food would be out soon. Right after she stopped by our table the manager came over to tell us some of what we ordered was no longer available. It was now 9:30 PM. He gave me a menu and never returned. Terrible experience. We will never return! No wonder patron after patron were screaming and yelling at the hostess. Too many red flags. If you can't handle several private functions on top of your regular bar and dinner crowd your doing something wrong. read more

Went in last night with my husband, great friend and our kids. It was Veterans Day, so the kids were off and needed to get their wiggles out. Checked this place out after being in the area and reviewing the mixed reviews on here. Beer-the selection was ok. Nothing I would really shout about. Tried a flight and out of the 4 sampled I thought one was decent. Wasn't so shocked since I looked them up on Untapped beforehand. Atmosphere-The arcade was interesting to see in the middle of the brewery. Loud but great for kids and families to gather for parties so makes sense. Food- Had a burger and it was once again average, but nothing to shout about. The price was alright for what was served. The service was very slow considering there weren't many people around when we were there. It took over 20 min for two burgers to come out. Glade I checked it out, but sadly I wouldn't make the 45 minutes to travel back again. read more
