The food was delicious fast friendly service beautiful atmosphere we will return highly recommend very happy customers

LOVE burgers here! Small bar but great selection of beers. Nice decor. Can get loud but really not an issue.

Hands down the best burgers I have ever had. I have visited Restaurant 55 about 6 or 7 times and everytime I am impressed. The variety of topping are amazing, the burgers are fresh and cooked to order, and the fried are excellent. I stay away from the appetizers so I can finish the burger. Great beer selection, friendly employees, and a happy enviroment. Looking forward to my next visit and trying a different burger...the egg topping from a previous post sounds good read more

Possibly one of the best burgers I have ever eaten. The flavor makes you think about nothing except when you will be able to have your next one. read more

Service and food are always top notch. I've been going since the day they opened and the menu has barely been changed. While they do offer 3 or 4 special burger everyday, I would like to see some of these burgers added to the full time menu. Even some new entrées would be nice to see. read more

I have been going ever since they opened and it never disappoints! The beer selection is always changing and offers something for everyone. The burgers are even better! daily specials are always a nice mix of flavors and concoctions that you can not find anywhere else. You can end it with one of there cupcakes too. I would HIGLY recommend this place to anyone. Staff and owners are super nice and willing to chat with you if you have any questions about the food or drinks. read more

Six of us drove up from Baltimore on motorcycles. (Take Rt. 9 to 311) We all chose a different burger and everyone enjoyed them very much... The food was hot, fresh and very tasty. R55 has a great beer selection and our waitress was awesome too. read more

We had a great meal at Restaurant 55. We decided to eat in the bar area. Barrenders and servers were great. If you like beer, they have a great and diverse beer menu. We had burgers and fish tacos. Both were very tasty and perfectly portioned. Burger was fresh made and well cooked. Fries were fresh cut and cooked to perfection. Well done Restaurant 55. Worth the trip out there! read more

Great food at a reasonable price. The atmosphere leaves a little to be desired. It's loud and cramped and often busy, but really, that's because the food is so good! Features a wide variety of daily specials and homemade pastries. The burgers are both incredible and unique. The ground beef is fresh daily from a local market and the sweet potato fries are a nice option, though the traditional fries are great as well. read more

The food is very good quality, consistent, and service is friendly (although most of my food is take out) . They use the dark greens for salads unlike most restaurants around here. Hard to find here believe it or not. Burgers are usually cooked to your preference. Bread is always fresh. They offer unique taste blends as well. Didn't care for their cupcake though, lol. read more

Food was good. Really good. And the beer was good too. Wait staff was inexperienced in beer selection and quality however. The location inside is small for how busy they are because there food is worth the wait but we were waiting for 2 hours on a Thursday. Portioning for the dishes that were not burgers, which they mostly excel at, was small and overpriced. read more

Very clean place. Super friendly staff. Burgers are from farmed raised local beef as are the toppings. The food and service were great! Fries are fresh and come as a side with the burger. GO HUNGRY because the foods a plenty! read more

Great Restaurant! Now one of my local favorites. Delicious burgers and fries, homemade relish....everything you would want in a "joint". Try a cupcake...there to die for. read more

I'm not impressed with this place! My wife and I went there to give it a try. When we arrived the hostess told us it would be about a 10-15 minute wait. Several other couples and groups arrived while we waited; some went to the bar, others waited in the seating area which, BTW isn't much to talk about either. We looked at he menu and I still can't figure out what you're paying for here, except maybe the purchase of the building! So, 45 minutes later, the hostess seats another couple that had come in about 30 minutes after we had. Needless to say, we left, very unhappy. The only explanation we got was, "well I'm sorry, but I wasn't the one who took your name". She never offered anything else. Customer service rated as negligible, prices unreasonable. Go to Wendy's or somewhere else you save some money. read more

My husband and I love "Cool Springs" ... the sister of this new restaurant, and I was anxious to try it out. About 2 weeks ago we went there for lunch. I was pleasantly pleased with the clean atmosphere and the friendliness of the people working there. My husband really liked his burger and the the beer he chose. He keeps asking me when we're going back. That is a very good sign. Today is his 80th birthday ... and this is where we are going for dinner. J.G. PS: I loved my burger, too. read more

This place just keeps getting better We love their food, we keep tying something different each time we go there and for the most part haven't been disappointed. read more

First and last visit ever. We were part of a group and we arrived about 10 minutes later than everyone else. We sat at the table for about 15 minutes before we finally received our menus and could order our drinks. Our server got our drink order wrong. I had the Cheeseburger soup (didn't know potatoes have anything to do with cheeseburgers...) and the 55 Burger Salad. The soup was pretty good, but the salad not so much. There was barely any dressing on the lettuce and the chunks of burger were very, very dry. The burgers are big, but come with nothing but the bun, fries and the special toppings like bacon or cheese. If you like lettuce or tomatoes on your burger, you'll have to order that extra (at no cost though). The place was pretty full when we were there, so I don't know if they were understaffed or just couldn't handle it. read more

We decided to go here for my Birthday/. I am trying to watch my calorie intake so I ordered the Ahi tuna burger. OMG!....seven onces of perfectly grilled tuna. Topped with lump crab meat and some wild mango salsa! It was fantastic! Hubby had theblack and blue burger. Again, it was amazing. Kudos to this little out of the way place. They have it just right. Great food at a reasonable price. read more

They serve THE best fish and chips I have ever eaten at any restaurant anywhere! I always get the sweet potato fries! The service is excellent! I love this neighborhood place... I only wish the noise level wasn't so high. read more

One of Dover's great local places. Amazing food! I'm a big fan of the not for breakfast burger. The burgers are juicy and delicious and the prices are great. Really love their cupcakes, especially the farmhouse chocolate cupcake. Fish and chips area good pick too. We weren't too big of a fan of the fried pickles. We expected sliced pickles and it's literally just a whole pickle with some batter and fried. Not very good at all. But any of their main dishes you just can't go wrong. They have a lot of crazy combos if you are adventurous. The Not-For-Breakfast is a burger flavored with sage and topped with bacon and a fried egg. We've had burgers with avacado, burgers topped with shrimp, crab meat, blue cheese and all kinds of crazy things. Really delicious. read more

One of the more enjoyable places in the Dover Delaware area to drink a couple beers (they have an array of local craft beers with an evolving selection and the bartenders/servers are well informed) or to eat some awesome food! (I have yet to order something there I wouldn't recommend or order again) read more

Love everything about this place other than it is slightly expensive for a burger joint. It limits the family trips because it costs a little much. Love the food and service though. read more

Over hyped place . Very small . Inside decor is nice .. Food is very bland ... I got the burger which was pricy. I guess people nowadays don't know a good burger . Go try the Green Turtle or 33 West than this is over hyped overpricey place .... You ...you know what I'm talking about ... that's right ... haven't you had enough of these over hyped places already?? read more

Best burger I've ever had in my life!!!! Highly recommend. Excellent service and great food, well worth the 40 minute ride!

I absolutely love this place. Staff is awesome. Atmosphere is awesome, beer selection and menu are very unique. This is my favorite place in the Dover area. read more

Best local burgers in the area! My husband and I love coming here for date night. He likes the Santa Fe burger and Not for breakfast burger while I enjoys the Teriyaki one. They have the best sweet potato fries, and the onion rings are outstanding. Service is friendly and fast as well. read more

I went here after doing some research since I am from out of town. The beer list looked amazing, but unfortunately that is as far as I got. After 15 to 20 minutes, I walked out. No waitress ever came by to take my order. Many walked right by me however. Table next to me got seated and order taken after I was seated. I'm sure the burgers and beer are great, but pay closer attention next time to your customers. read more

Love the burgers, so many interesting varieties to choose from. My favorite is the Santa Fe with bacon, barbecue sauce & onions. Also highly recommend the potato chip appetizer and sweet potato fries. The cupcakes are also really good. read more

Wont say it is bad, but burger is better at jakes hamburgers. Just doesn't not seem fresh. Service is ok. I would go again but prefer another place. read more

What a nice surprise! From the outside, it seemed iffy...but we went in and it was great. Cheeseburger cooked true medium rare, interesting menu, craft beers, full bar, great specials, great service, clean, priced fairly. A random stop at a random time that turned out to be a place we would definitely go back to, even go out of the way for. Bar has tvs, is separated by a wall from the dining room by a partial wall. Family friendly. Casual and unpretentious. Highly recommend! read more

Usually, this is a good place to grab a great burger. Went yesterday and it was cold inside. The 2 other couples eating there were wearing their coats. I don't know about you, but I won't pay to eat out while freezing. Asked our server about the heat and was told he couldn't do anything about it because it was on a timer! We left! read more

Restaurant 55 is one of our favorites in Dover. Their specialty seems to be burgers - and they're amazing - so fresh and they practically melt in your mouth! If burgers aren't your thing, the menu has a nice variety of items that are both tasty and decently priced. The beer menu is excellent and the draft choices change seasonally- we love that they'll let you try something from the draft beer menu before you order it. read more

A good burger joint. A bit over-priced. The menu offers a wide variety of burgers. The fries and artichoke appetizers are good. Scores extra points for offering a full liquor bar! It would be nice if they offered drink specials or a happy hour. Service was good. read more

Not impressed by this over-priced burger joint. The burgers looked decent, so I ordered the special: stuffed flounder sandwich ($12.00). It was pretty much a $12 bun with lettuce and tomato. After peeling back the lettuce, I discovered what I was paying for........a 3oz (maybe) sampling of flounder that was supposed to be stuffed with something, but I think they forgot that. The flounder fishing season must have really suffered this year in Delmarva! Someone else at our table got the tuna sandwich and said it would have been better without the bun. Who puts sashimi-grade tuna on a bun? Really? Don't get the fish sandwiches! Everyone else who got burgers were impressed by the accuracy of the doneness of the meat. Medium-rare actually comes out medium-rare. Good to see they got this right. The fries were alright. The appetizers were alright. The bar was definately the highlight of the night. Next time, I will just sit at the bar and travel through the impressive lineup of American ales they offer on tap and bottled until I'm buzzed enough to order 2 or 3 fish sandwiches to fill me up. Kids did alright, got a little anxious after waiting an hour after ordering for our food to arrive. The place is definately not fast food. The waitress did good refilling their chocolate milks (they didn't go to bed until midnight though, thanks!). For the money, I could have got a six-pack and dined in at Hardee's. Without the wait! read more

I took my two young boys there (ages 5 and 1) for lunch. The food was delicious. The service was perfect, and the place is kid friendly.

Really enjoy the burgers here! The service is always great, and one of the best things is that you can really customize your burger to exactly how you want it. My boyfriend loves the root beer barbecue sauce, personally I love those delicious onion straws read more

There should be more places like this in Dover. They have a great selection of craft beers, and actually rotate the taps on a regular basis. Last time I had the dogfish saison du buff and salmon burger -- both were delicious. The bartender was on her game. The atmosphere could be more lively, but it is still better than cool springs next door. read more

My husband and I went there for Mother's Day in the early evening and it wasn't overly crowded. I had a turkey croquette and it was very good and had it with mashed potatoes and a white sauce gravy. It also came with a vegetable medley which was cooked al dente which is the way I prefer them. My husband had a burger and fries and he said it was very good. The service was excellent. read more

First time here but won't be the last. I had the Sante fe Burger. It was excellent. My wife had the spinach salad with blackened chicken. She said it was one of the best salads she has had. Server was Angela. Great smile with great service. read more

This place really hits the nail on the head! Great food. Great atmosphere. Service has never been a problem... My only complaint is their dessert selection. The cupcakes are cute, but I wish they had a little more, maybe a cheesecake or some chocolate with ice cream? PS Try the pickle martini!!! read more
