Love, love, love this place! Their specialty- the Resi coffee is my new favorite coffee. It is delicious and they use milk from a local dairy and there is a hint of orange that takes it to the next level. The pancakes are also to die for! The space is great, and the service is excellent!

    Banana pudding Matcha latte

I'm a fan of Resident & Wyatt's so I was super excited to see that they were having a matcha pop up for the month of April. The matcha pop up is with Hue Matcha where they are showcasing some amazing matcha drink offerings. While it's not a full service offerings, I do love that from 8am - 12pm you can still stop into Resident to meet up with friends or get some remote work done. I had my eye on the banana pudding matcha latte with oat milk this morning. They were also offering blueberry matcha scones for $6 that looked so delicious. I did enjoy watching them whisk the matcha and prepare the drinks to order. The matcha was very good and not too earthy. There was a subtle sweetness to it that was simple but good. The cold foam with the Nilla wafer definitely gave that banana pudding feel to it. I also would have preferred the original one just because the quality of matcha was so good. However, I love the simplicity of this pop up and hope that Wyatt's and Resident implement this as a regular pop up or sell this matcha in their store. I'm looking forward to stopping by next Monday!

"The best breakfast bowl I have ever had" - my partner. I am one of these people that has their go-tos when eating out, but decided to branch out and I was not disappointed! I always love a breakfast bowl and this one was phenomenal. It had potatoes, avocado, pickled red onion, and the salsa on top gave it an amazing little kick. I tried a few pieces of the brisket and it was sooooo tender - if you're looking to add a meat to your bowl definitely go with the brisket. The latte was also delicious! This place is generally pretty busy, but we got there early and had no issues finding seating.

This spot is a great addition to the Gainesville coffee scene. The staff are friendly and the atmosphere is fun and relaxed. It's definitely more of a restaurant vibe than a coffee shop vibe in terms of noise level and crowd, and they are strict about what tables can be occupied by those with laptops, so just keep that in mind if you are the type to work from different locations. The food is tasty, with a nice variety of options. I only wish the coffee menu was a bit more expansive or had a couple more seasonal options. The items that are on the coffee menu are delicious, though! My go-to is an iced Resi with oat milk.

Well decided to try this place out as we were craving an iced coffee. Was pretty busy, had to wait to order , but not too long, The guy who took my order was friendly .Took my order and gave me a number to hold onto till my order was ready. Coffee #1 - basically iced coffee , they call it cold brew , milk and supposedly sugar , very bland , nothing that make it a stand out coffee. Coffee #2- was their Big Pumkin - another coffee that was ok at nest.- had a distinct taste, couldn't put my finger on it, sprinkled with cinnamon, they called it their version of a pumpkin spiced latte, they might want to reword that, not even remotely similiar. They have hipster vibe decor, and alot of young adults in their doing school work. Looks more like a UF campus coffee shop.

This might be the BEST coffee shop in GNV. I've heard only positive things about this place, and it absolutely lived up to the hype. I've actually been here once for coffee, but I had to try the food to give my full review. IMPECCABLE! Most places are give and take with coffee and food, and it seems like it's usually really good coffee, or really good food. Very rarely is it both really good food and coffee. Resident is the rarity because WOW, the food quality and taste was amazing, and so was the coffee! Whether you're in the GNV just passing through or a GNV resident (pun intended) you need to check this place out!

I stopped by Resident Coffee after seeing that they recently opened. A few months back, I noticed a sign on their door during my walks along 43rd Street saying they were getting ready to open but needed some extra funding. I'd pass by occasionally with my mom to check if they had opened yet; so when I finally saw on Instagram that they were officially open, we made plans to go together. I ordered their Café de Olla, made with their house cinnamon-spiced panela syrup and topped with vanilla cold foam. It was delicious, sweet, warming, and full of flavor. At $8 it's definitely a splurge, but since it's specialty coffee made with freshly ground beans, it felt like a nice little treat. The space inside is modern yet cozy, with beautiful natural light. It's the kind of place that feels perfect for studying, catching up with friends, or just relaxing with a book. It was busy when we went, but in a good way..people sitting down, enjoying their drinks, and soaking in the ambiance. The barista who took our order was super friendly and mentioned he was Cuban, which gave my mom the chance to chat with him in Spanish. He offered great recommendations and you could tell he really loves both coffee and working there. I really hope this place sticks around because I'd love to come back to try some of their food and maybe spend a few hours working on my laptop.

My new go-to spot for remote working and brunch with friends. I love grabbing coffee downtown Gainesville but dread the sometimes wildcard of difficult parking - Resident has easy peasy parking options (such as big parking lot). The menu has some fun food options that look great for adults and kiddos. I initially tried to order a caramel latte to which there is a twist with theirs in that it has unrefined sugar and citrus - the barista was great at figuring out a good drink option alternative. There is ample indoor seating, plenty of outlets, floor to ceiling windows (love the natural light), soft lighting, and great music. A bit of a long line to order but it moved fast. The staff were friendly, made good suggestions, and speedy. If you are looking for a quick stop or a place to camp out and get some work done - 10/10 recommend trying this new spot out!

this place is sooo cool. first off, the menu is so exquisite but also they have something for everyone. went here with my friends and they made me get the pancakes which i am SO GLAD I CAVED AND DID. the coffee is fantastic and the food is even better!! and the quality of the food is totally worth the prices. the service was quick and the pancakes didn't even hurt my tummy. pretty sure they make everything gluten free as well!! highly recommend

My second experience was unfortunately not quite as good as my first one here. The service was still very good, but my food and drink were not the best. The pumpkin spice latte had some flavor to it that was a little off to me and I didn't enjoy it all that much. The chorizo burrito was alright, but the tortilla was a little burnt on the outside and kind of a chewy texture. The ambiance is still very cute and very clean, my main problem this time was just with the food and drink.

Very cute and aesthetic place to get coffee or brunch! They have a delicious hispanic fusion brunch menu, I tried the chorizo burrito and biscuits and gravy. The biscuits were made from blue corn and were delicious, I do wish they gave more gravy as it got dry towards the end, but still delicious! Chorizo burrito was yummy as well! Not as big as other reviews say tbh, but it was nice and had a good spicy kick to it. Drinks were good! I don't drink coffee, so I can't speak for that unfortunately, but I did purchase some beans for gifting!

I love this place! It's a really great brunch place to eat and hang out. The coffee is so good. Not that many different drink options but quality over quantity. The coffee is smooth and very high quality. The food is really good and I like their masa pancakes the best. You place your order first and they bring the food out to you. Seats can be limited during the really busy hours. Love this place so much!

I came to Resident Coffee Roasters when I had to get stuff done for work. I got the Resi and the cinnamon roll and it was absolutely delicious. I met the management and he saw I was hesitant on trying the Resi since I originally wanted the iced caramel latte but he told me I can try something else if I don't like it. The Resi was absolutely delicious and it's my favorite! I highly recommend checking it out and it has a light airy feel to the place.

My boyfriend got a cappuccino with strawberry syrup but we didn't really taste the strawberry in his. Regardless, it was delicious. We also got one of their biscotti which seemed like they made in house but I'm not sure. It was yummy, but definitely was not a very traditional recipe. It tasted more like a short bread than a biscotti but still very yummy. We walked out to the food truck to get some vegan bites and they definitely met expectations. The crabby patty was delicious with a great texture, and my boyfriends patty melt was also super good. We shared a mac and cheese and honestly I was full before we even got to that. The Mac and cheese was great but did taste a lot like coconut so if you're not into that then maybe veer away. The ambience was a mixed bag. The initial shop that you order the coffee in had a very cozy vibe with great decor. If you walk past the patio into the overflow seating the vibe changes a ton. The decor felt very uncanny valley, back rooms, like very odd. I think they need to work on that side of the property a little bit and make it more cozy. Maybe it's a work in progress or maybe they like it that way, I'm not sure, but it wasn't the sort of vibe that made me want to stick around. Overall great experience though! Will be coming back & hopefully I can get seating in the main shop ;)
