    Mocha coffee
    Annie M.

Everything we ordered from here was absolutely delicious. I was literally only able to take a pic of the coffee because by the time the food arrived (shortly after mocha coffee- to die for!) one taste test to make sure it was good and next thing you know, it's all gone. I ordered the house special Benedict eggs with a side of grits and bacon and moon dusted potatoes. Hands down one of the best grits I've ever tried in my lifeeeee. Must have. My bf ordered the stuffed french toast and I was able to get a taste too, soooo freaking good!! Very sweet and tasty. Will definitely be coming back again!!!

I was hesitant to try this place because of the reviews, but my friend was insistent that it was solid. We showed up with a party of 3 on a Saturday and there was a 45 minute wait. That's to be expected at a popular place with limited seating. However, the bar was open so me and my friends went and set at the bar. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. The waitress suggested the pistachio baklava latte and it was SPECTACULAR. I don't know if I've had a latte I like better and it was at a price point of $5.25. I then ordered the piedmont omelette. This was a very solid flavorful omelette with no complaints. It was cooked well and the chicken sausage was a really good touch. Poblano hot sauce was also a very nice touch. The biscuit was light and flaky but not crumbly. If you are coming here and you don't order something that comes with a biscuit, get one. (And apple butter is out on the table ready to take that biscuit to the next level.) The grits were a must order. Cheesy but not overpowering. Now for a solo experience 25$ after tip is a bit much but that seems to be the going rate now days. I'll be back.

One of my absolute favorite brunch spots in town. It's located in a plaza with plenty of parking, which makes getting there easy, even on busy weekends. The place is always packed but the wait is worth it. Loop The food is comforting, flavorful, and consistently hits the mark. I especially love the cheesy grits that come with many of the dishes. They're rich, creamy, and packed with flavor. The biscuits are another highlight. They're perfectly warm and fluffy, and I always top them with a generous spread of apple butter. The service is always friendly and attentive. The staff makes you feel welcome from the moment you walk in, and they're quick to check in and make sure everything is just right. If you're looking for a cozy and satisfying brunch, this spot is definitely worth a visit.

Overall: A Gainesville staple. When ppl think of going to breakfast and brunch, this is always a choice to go to! Ambiance: There is a lot of parking available, but it does get full on the weekends. It's in the Thornebrook area on the side of Fresh market and Five Guys. Inside looks like it hasn't been updated since they opened which has to be more than 20 years ago. I'm not a fan of how it looks tbh. Lighting is dim and the table tops look greasy even though it's not. Service: The wait time is usually accurate to what they tell you if not shorter. The service in my opinion has gotten better over the years. The servers check on you more but not a crazy amount. They are very attuned to refills needed which is nice. Food: I always get coffee even though I just find it "okay" lol I gotta have my coffee but then I always get a latte from Uppercrust after lol. The food is good. I know a lot of ppl like the grits. My favorite thing to get is the moon dusted potatoes. The last few times I went I found my food either salty or not enough salt. Overall, the place is okay, but I go cuz other ppl like it and want to go

    Nice decor!

Yes do far so great. We stopped by here by accident, looking for Uppercrust. Stop by for a visit. Great selection, good prices, good fresh food. Goid service. Cute decor! Stop by and enjoy!!!!!! Two similar yet different eateries in one plaza!

This place is always busy so come earlier than you want to put your name in and they give you a pager so you can walk around the Plaza while you wait. I got the oh my Grits bowl, the Grits are cheesy Grits, I'm not a big Grits person but I like when they have flavor in them, they were a little, soupy? I guess you could say,I i like some of the thicker, firmer Grits. You can also pick 4 toppings and all of the breakfast meals are served with a big biscuit. The biscuits are great. Also love the inside, it's so bright and colorful. Staff is also attentive and came to check on us multiple times.

My partner and I dined here the Sunday after homecoming. We arrived at 9:50 and were quoted a 40 minute wait. Luckily, we were able to snag a spot at the bar just 10 minutes after arriving. I chose the Hollywood omelet and it was good. My favorite part was of course the biscuit. My partner had the waffle breakfast and enjoyed it thoroughly. The service wasn't as good as it would have been at the table but was great for bar seating. If you come on a weekend, be prepared to wait!

All in all, the Flying Biscuit Cafe is a good destination if you are in the Gainesville, Florida area and craving a nice meal. I came here with a few business clients at the suggestion of one of these associates, who is a regular here. The menu is more breakfast driven, but I ended up going with their patty melt. The patty melt also came with their "gold dusted potatoes." The burger and the gold dusted potatoes were both good. Our server was friendly, helpful and professional and only enhanced our overall experience. Even though the place was pretty crowded, our food was delivered to us in a quick amount of time and our server regularly checked on us and kept our drinks filled. The Flying Biscuit Cafe had a nice enough ambiance and since it was in a shopping plaza, parking was not an issue. Overall, I would definitely recommend here and I will give it five stars.

Piedmont omelette with mushrooms in place of bacon, biscuit, and cheese grits

The food here is incredible! The grits are so creamy and cheesy, the biscuits are perfectly flaky and so good with the apple butter, and the omelet was cooked perfectly. The server was very good and the food came out pretty quick. There was a long wait to get seated but it was a Saturday morning, so understandable! The ambiance is nice and is very cutely decorated.

All I can say is the GRITS!!!! The creamy dreamy cheesy grits are the best part of the flying biscuit. Of course the biscuit's are buttery and soft, but put those two together and you have a perfect combo for your brunch date. We sat at the bar top they have and were greeted immediately with a friendly face. Next time I will definitely try one of their specialty lattes.

The sweet potato soup had a puréed, baby‑food texture, but the flavor itself was surprisingly rich and comforting. The star for me was the Tunisian casse‑croûte. The flavors were incredible; the albacore was tender and seasoned just right, the salata mechouia added this smoky, roasted pepper depth, and the pickled egg brought the perfect tangy brightness. The arugula gave it a fresh, peppery lift, and the harissa aioli tied everything together with a warm, subtle heat. The fries on top added the best crunchy contrast. Every bite was layered, bold, and so satisfying.

We arrived later on a Saturday night craving hibachi and sushi, and it definitely hit the spot. I ordered the steak hibachi with fried rice, and my husband went with the lobster roll. My meal started with a cup of miso soup and if you follow our adventures you know I love miso. They did not disappoint. It was hot, flavorful, and tasted freshly made with good ingredients. For a drink I ordered a Long Drink. We first tried these at a local festival and fell in love, so when we saw a citrus flavor we had never tried before we were excited to order it. My hibachi came out hot and smelled amazing. The steak was cooked perfectly and the sauce mixed into the rice was really good. I do wish they gave just a little extra sauce for the rice. The rice itself was a bit stiff, but the sauce helped a lot. We also came about an hour before closing, so we were not too bothered by that. Our waitress was good, and her coworker stepped in to help when she was busy, which we appreciated. I also liked that you can see the sushi chefs working right there, and my husband really enjoyed his roll. The restaurant was very clean, including the bathrooms, which always matters. I also have to mention the water because it actually tasted good. If you know, you know how rare that can be. They also have plenty of parking, which makes things easy. Overall we had a great experience and it was the perfect spot for a much needed date night.
