    Gyoza and Takoyaki
    Dave W.

I had the honor of hosting a family meal here and I'm happy to write that everything went great! The place is well decorated, spacious and spotless. We were lucky to have Devoney as our waitress. She was knowledgeable, friendly, patient and fun! She didn't rush us and let us proceed at our own pace. We ordered two types of yakitori, gyoza and takoyaki for appetizers to share. They were generous portions with perfect presentation and fine tastes. Everyone ordered their own main ramen and sushi. All reports were positive. The sushi for two people came on one well presented plate which was fun for sharing. Everything was delicious. My wonderful wife asked for some extra togarashi to spice things up a bit and they brought a generous portion. We even took some home with our leftovers. Overall, it was a fun and delicious experience and we look forward to returning! Life is good with a fun family meal!

Absolutely fantastic -- quickly becoming my favorite restaurant in town. Service is friendly, food is incredible, and atmosphere is fun (very hard to remember this was an old beef o Bradys). What I really like is that, although I'd love the price to be $2-3 cheaper per entree, there's no games here. A bowl comes with what it should... no "oh you want an egg, that's 3 dollars more" games... a bowl already comes with the egg. The spicy bowl is my favorite, but they're all good. Food came out quick and portions were excellent. A bit loud, but kind of fits with the vibe.

Really solid spot for ramen in Gainesville! Sometimes service can be a bit slow when they are understaffed, but for the most part, really good service with super friendly staff! Ambiance is a mix of modern and trendy anime (which is the hot decor option for ramen joints these days). Food is solid, with good quality ramen. If you go, go for the ramen combo. For $22, you can choose any bowl of ramen and an appetizer. Truly is a great option if you want to try different things on the menu each time you go. Keep up the good work! :)

Super hungry so son search and pick up this ramen on our way to Tampa. All broths are so delicious. Gyoza are good husband approved. Spacious place. Great, seat, order taken and food serving right after. Server is super sweet with smile.

This place was great! We were in town for a study at UNF and decided to get some lunch before heading back home. After some research decided to go to Kinya Ramen and let me tell you, this place is AMAZING. The restaurant was nice and clean.... the staff were super tentative and friendly. We ordered the Pork buns that one in the combo and the Kinya Ramen with pork. The buns were just right super packed with flavor! The ramen was delicious the broth was nice and thick and the pork pieces were seasoned to perfection. Hoping the Jacksonville location is up to par with this one.

Came on a random Tuesday at around 4pm so it wasn't busy at all inside which was nice. Service was very fast and we got our food super quickly which was a pleasant surprise. We ordered the spicy ramen and tonkotsu ramen, as well as spicy chicken wings and pork buns for appetizers. Everything was decently good! The chicken wings were crispy and juicy, but not very spicy (more sweet & spicy), the pork buns were nice and hot but had too much of mayo and sauce that overpowered the pork. For the ramen, the tonkotsu broth had a much richer broth, whilst the spicy chicken broth didn't have much flavor or spice at all. Noodles were cooked to perfection and I liked how much toppings they included in each bowl. Overall good environment and food, but I do wish the ramen came out hotter and more flavorful!

Best ramen we've had in a while! Very delicious! Great customer service as well!! Definitely coming back when in town!

Love the ramen and appetizer combo. For $22, you get a ramen and any normal appetizer. It's an AWESOME deal. I got the okonomiyaki appetizer (which is basically a seafood pancake with a BBQ-like sauce and bonito flakes on top) and the tonkotsu ramen. The okonomiyaki was decent, but I'll give Kinya their flowers for being one of the only places in Gainesville you can order it. The ramen was really good, lots of great flavor and a good amount of noodles and toppings, I just wish it came with a whole soft boiled egg (2 halves) instead of just 1 half. Will definitely come back.

I checked out Kinya Ramen with a friend after seeing a theater performance next door on a Sunday night. As it was my first time there, I found the menu eclectic and interesting. The Ramen combo was the best bang for the buck so I got the namesake Kinya ramen plus the takoyaki (octopus ball). The Kinya ramen contains pork broth with black garlic oil flavor, topped with fish cake, chopped scallions, ginger, bean sprouts, bamboo shoots, a seasoned boiled egg, and 24k gold leaf. All in a bowl with golden noodles and either chicken or pork chashu. Such an explosion of flavor and textures: salty, sweet, crunchy, chewy, tender, flaky, and smooth. The takoyaki was an umami experience of its own. The service was on point and with such reasonable prices for their combos, I know I will be making a return trip soon to Kinya Ramen.

Kinya was FANTASTIC! We were seated immediately and enjoyed terrific service the entire night. We had the combo, one of us getting wings and ramen, the other getting fish pancake and ramen. Everything was fantastic. The wings were crispy but moist, and the fish cake was smoky and delicious, not too fishy. Ramen was delicious.

Pretty decent ramen spot! Ramen was okay, not the best i've ever had, sushi was good & the desserts were my FAVORITE, they were soooo good! Id come back just for the taiyaki & matcha tiramisu Service was great! Waitress was super nice & food came out extremely fast after we ordered! Couple of things though, the ambience in this place could be way better. Went in for dinner later in the night & the lights in there are SO bright. Also the tables are set up very close together which isn't my favorite. I would come back if they dimmed the lights a bit and possibly invested in some wall booths.

It's a shame. We really wanted to like this place because Gainesville lacks a good ramen spot. The ramen itself was a solid 5/10, but the rest of the food was awful. We ordered yakitori, takoyaki, and okonomiyaki and were disappointed by all. The okonomiyaki seemed undercooked - it was doughy and gritty and not hot at all. The takoyaki, as we were told, is frozen and "bought from a local store like Walmart." Not fresh or made in-house. The steak yakitori was so raw it was on the verge of being alive. My boyfriend, who would eat any piece of meat put in front of him, could not even chew this. I had to censor it here because it literally looks like gore. I feel terrible for the server we showed it to; she was great and the only redeeming part of this whole experience.

    Rainbow Roll
    Tiffany C.

Hands down my favorite roll is the Godzilla which is unusual since I don't usually like fried rolls. It is a mouthful, but the batter is nice and thin. Takoyaki (octopus balls) were good but undercooked inside both ties I've had them. Rainbow roll was okay, it's a simple roll and mostly relies on the fish itself for flavor. Not great, not bad. Writing this review, weeks after my first visit, I actually forgot we had the ramen until I saw the photo, I guess I could say it was forgettable. Ambiance and service are fine, as long as you aren't expecting a fancy, date-night type place. Simple, kind, and respectful that's all I really need from staff and it checked all those boxes for me.

There's lots of yummy sweets in the bakery like chiffon cake, cheesecake, basque cheesecake, cream puffs, burst cake, mochi, crepe cake, french macarons, and more. It's near the Enson Market. It wasn't too loud inside and there were plenty of places to sit. I think it would be a great place for a date or to meet up with friends. My order: The matcha green tea w. coconut milk (no boba). I also tried the tiramisu mousse cake. The green tea was really tasty, the tiramisu mousse was just okay IMO. Why I left a four star review: There weren't a lot of dairy-free milk options, the price point was a tad high, and there are too many other boba tea shops in Gainesville with a better price point and flavors.

So the fact that I'm giving this place 5 stars means this place is stellar. It's not a place I would even expect to exist in a small place like Gainseville, let alone be THIS GOOD. BUT this place is THAT GOOD. The cakes were all LA tier, maybe even Taiwan/China tier, which is Saying SOMETHING!!! I travel a lot and my experience with asian stores in small towns has always been subpar. It might look authentic, etc but then the taste will disappoint and I'm reminded why the 626 in LA is known as an Asian food haven. But this store tasted straight out of the 626. I walked in looking for Asian desserts because I can only go so long existing on wypipo food tbh. I noticed there's a nice new Chinese market next door and the staff inside was all Chinese, speaking Mandarin - very encouraging. I looked at the cakes. They looked legit! Real Asian cake store level. But I still told myself to lower my expectations with the taste so I wouldn't be disappointed later. I bought four cakes and two drinks. Would have bought food too but their kitchen was closed (I came 30 mins before closing). Tbh, the drinks are just fine. I've had better, these were a tiny bit watered down - but still decent. The guava and lychee flavors we got were very prevalent and there was a fresh lime slice in mine. But the cakes!!! The cakes are 5 star. The cakes are LA worthy. TAIPEI worthy. What is this store doing in Gainseville?? I sure hope they survive. I have to come back to Gainseville often for medical events, so - I will be coming to this store EACH TIME. Please, please stay open for me. ;) The cakes are perfectly light, soft, not too sweet. (If you know Asian desserts you'll know what I'm talking about). The mochi layers inside were perfectly done, sweet, smooth, very QQ. Everything from the injeolmi flavor to taro paste to mango gelatin layers - all the flavors were there in just the right way. The textures - perfect. Lady M can't compete with the crepe cakes. The basque was cooked to PERFECTION. The mochi round cakes - like eating Taro clouds. This is not an amateur bakery, folks. This bakery know what they're doing. You have a gem here, Gainseville. I literally logged into Yelp to leave this review for them. Please do yourself a favor and try their cakes - Try them ALL. Experience the beauty of Asian desserts. I feel like every single thing here will be done perfectly. I know I'm gonna keep coming back to try more!

The boa buns were soft, the pork was cooked perfectly, and the hoisin sauce at the bottom of the bun was amazing. There were vegetables on top, including cucumbers that tasted sweet and carrots. The vegetables were fresh and tasted great with everything else. We also ordered the crab Rangoon which I personally really liked. I don't like fish, and this crab Rangoon must have had a large amount of cream cheese base. I personally really enjoyed it since the crab wasn't very prominent. The filling was creamy, the Rangoon was crunchy, and the sweet and spicy sauce it came with made a perfect combo. For our meal, we ordered the chicken pad Thai. Unfortunately, it didn't really meet our expectations. The pad Thai was sitting on top of a sauce at the bottom, which tasted like a hoisin sauce base. The taste was very minimal, which was disappointing. The noodles were soft, almost like they were overcooked. The chicken was cooked well and lightly seasoned (which worked perfectly for the pad Thai). The vegetables on top of the pad Thai were also very fresh and you could tell they were freshly cut. The lack of peanut/pad thai taste was the most disappointing part that unfortunately lost it for us. The service was good. When we walked in, we were immediately greeted and were able to select our own table. The inside is decently small, with around 8 tables.

We started with the wonton soup, which was visually beautiful. The broth had a rich, inviting color and the wontons themselves were excellent -- thin, delicate wrappers with a very flavorful filling. Unfortunately, the broth itself was a bit underwhelming and lacked depth. A touch of hot mustard helped bring it to life, but it needed more natural flavor on its own. The standout dish of the meal was the Mu Shu Pork. Absolutely fantastic. The portion was generous and the flavor reminded us of classic Mu Shu from WoHop in NYC's Chinatown -- high praise. The pancakes were incredibly thin, almost paper-like and nearly translucent, yet soft and perfect for wrapping. This dish alone makes us want to come back. The Bang Bang noodles were another dish that looked beautiful when served, but the flavor didn't quite match the presentation. The sauce seemed watered down and there was quite a bit of liquid in the bowl, which muted the overall taste. It felt very close to being great, just not fully there yet. Overall, this was a mixed but promising first visit. There's clearly real skill in the kitchen, and when the flavors hit, they hit well. For a drink I ordered a Long Drink. We first tried these at a local festival and fell in love, so when we saw a citrus flavor we had never tried before we were excited to order it. My hibachi came out hot and smelled amazing. The steak was cooked perfectly and the sauce mixed into the rice was really good. I do wish they gave just a little extra sauce for the rice. The rice itself was a bit stiff, but the sauce helped a lot. We also came about an hour before closing, so we were not too bothered by that. Our waitress was good, and her coworker stepped in to help when she was busy, which we appreciated. I also liked that you can see the sushi chefs working right there, and my husband really enjoyed his roll. The restaurant was very clean, including the bathrooms, which always matters. I also have to mention the water because it actually tasted good. If you know, you know how rare that can be. They also have plenty of parking, which makes things easy. Overall we had a great experience and it was the perfect spot for a much needed date night.

Our Server Annie was very friendly and very helpful with the menu. Love the decor ,very modern, a lot of lighting aesthetics. soft music playing over speakers We ordered a couple appetizers which came out hot, also been getting into sushi lately. So we ordered a roll to share as an appetiter as well, very fresh. Very good, they have a large variety of sushi rolls, raw and cooked. I learned the black Fried Rice with chicken supposed to be more healthy than regular Fried Rice for you. It was very very good! My wife got the spicy seafood soup, which was very good.I tried a little bit of that as well. I can see why all the reviews were really good. Its definitely one of my top 3 now!!

Lots of indoor and outdoor seating, and tables for big parties and small ones. Big fan of the sushi boat - there's a classic sushi boat option and a signature boat. I would highly recommend going for the signature as their speciality rolls are to die for! Great value for the amount of sushi you get. Plenty for a party of 2. 2 spotlights were the surf n' turf and Godzilla. Love this place! 5 big stars

But you can't eat the wallpaper. I'm looking at this chicken and I'm confused. I thought we were doing something sophisticated, but they brought out those boneless nuggets you find in the back of the freezer at 2:00 AM. Then they hit it with a drizzle of ketchup like it's a consolation prize. This isn't Korean Fried Chicken; it's a school lunch with a passport. It's dishonest. Then you got the pork belly. I don't know if this pig was an athlete or if it's just been sitting back there since the grand opening, but it's got the texture of a pink eraser. I'm chewing and chewing, just waiting for a flavor that never shows up. My jaw is doing a full-body workout. I didn't come here for a survival mission, I came here for a snack. And please, watch yourself when you pull up. There is a pothole in the lot that looks like a portal to another dimension. An asteroid literally made a home in front of the building. If you hit that thing, your car is staying there forever. The service is elite and the chairs are nice, but the kitchen is confused. It's style over substance. Take a picture for the 'gram, say hi to the nice server, and then go get a burger somewhere else. Don't do this to your suspension or your stomach.

I was sad pretty quickly and I already knew what I wanted as I was craving the unlimited hot pot. Although they have a conveyor belt that rotates with different veggies and seafood options - I wanted to put in an order for things that I did not see on the belt. I order for the classic broth, bok choy, Ramen, enoki mushrooms, shrimp, bean sprouts, and some other veggies. While I waited for my server to return with my goods, I went and created my own sauce concoction. I went with a mix of different things, and they have a sauce, concoction recipe that you can utilize to create your own dips. Since the restaurant was pretty empty, you could tell it was very clean which I really liked about my experience. The server checked on me multiple times and was really good about making sure that I had a refill on my soup base or my toppings. Overall, it was a great lunch experience that I would highly recommend if you want to enjoy a solo lunch or with friends. I really like this option because it allows you to customize your own soup and try out different varieties for your pot.
