There are spanish-speakers if needed. As for my boba, it was delicious! I ordered the milk tea and the passion fruit tea. The milk tea i believe i requested 70% sweetness, and the passionfruit 50%. I asked for less ice for the former, more ice in the latter. The milk tea was pleasant and the tapioca a lovely texture and flavor. Was not gummy or slimy at all! Perfectly cooked. The passionfruit was refreshing and flavorful with kiwi and strawberry pieces, and i also added aloe jelly by request. Love how customizable and clear the ordering screen makes things. Overall, our experience was great! The inside has a very nice ambiance, with cute wooden "huts" for seating that made it feel private but not crowded. The service was also great, friendly, and the food came out super fast. I ordered the pork ramen (pictured). The ramen was cooked well, and it was seasoned nicely. It has the "spicy" tag, and as someone with a decently low spice tolerance, it was not overly spicy. It left a bit of a tang on your lips but that was all. The place was really cute and the tonkatsu ramen was fine. However, I felt very rushed by the waitstaff. Initially, one thing that had drawn me to this place is the buttons at the tables where you can call the waiter, as I expected that this would allow me and my partner to take our time eating and enjoying each other's company. However, the check was placed right on the table as soon as I finished my ramen despite no one pressing the 'pay'/ waiter call button. I wish they would have let us take our time. Even after paying my partner wanted to rush to leave because of the " hostile atmosphere" (his words not mine). So if you want great photos this is your place! However, if you want to enjoy a leisurely dinner I would not recommend this place. Edit: I should also mention that we got there at open and maybe 2 other tables were in use- there was no reason to rush us out. Also, I was disappointed that there were no meat substitutions as my partner wanted to switch the beef for tofu because he is Catholic on a Friday, but this was not allowed. read more

My sister was visiting from out of town and was craving ramen! So we decided to check out Kyuramen. We decided to go with combo B which comes with Korean fried chicken for the appetizer which was crunchy, slightly sweet and delicious with a generous amount. Both of our ramen were delicious and the pork was tender and delicious! My sister to this day still talks about the pork! The combo came with a cherry blossom and matcha pudding desert. We both were not fans of the desserts. The cherry blossom dessert was like jelly and the matcha dessert was just okay. My sister had a fruit tea which contained fresh fruit which she liked. I came on a weekday night about an hour before closing and got seated right away. Sat in one of the enclosed booths which was nice for privacy but really echoey, so not great for conversation. The decor was cute, especially the big lantern and wish tree. The place was still pretty busy and had an open kitchen with counter seating. Prices were on the higher side, so I went with the combo meal for two, which came with two ramens (Sapporo Miso and Tokyo Tonkotsu Shoyu), two drinks (Amazing Lemonade and Thai Iced Tea), and two desserts (Japanese Cherry Blossom Jelly and Matcha Pudding with Red Bean) and popcorn chicken. The Amazing Lemonade had cucumber juice in it. Refreshing and not too strong of a cucumber flavor. The Thai Tea was sweet, creamy, and had a nice tea aroma. The popcorn chicken was juicy and flavorful, though not super crunchy. Good portion size. The tonkotsu ramen was bland and watery. It was missing that rich, creamy broth you'd expect, even adding the chili didn't make it better. The miso ramen was much better: spicy, flavorful, and the noodles were perfectly cooked. The chashu pork was fatty but had good flavor, and the sweet corn was a nice touch. Portions were huge. The matcha pudding was light and not too sweet, though the milk on top didn't add much. The cherry blossom jelly looked pretty but tasted a little artificial. Also noticed a few flies around, which was annoying. This is a fairly new Ramen restaurant in downtown Gainesville. I visited on a Monday night so not crowded, was seated quickly. The inside decor is very nice with these cute cubicles for seating along with tables in general area. The waiter was very nice and patient as we reviewed the menu, I had the vegetable ramen which came out piping hot. Very filling and tasty, next time I will try some appetizers and I am sure some of my ramen will end up as a take out. Give them a try if you are downtown next to the Hyatt Place hotel. read more

I definitely was full at the end. I don't think the ramen was worth the price as it was a little expensive, but every once in a while it'd be good. This new addition to downtown Gainesville has been all over social media for its cute decor and cubby seating. We arrived around 5:30 so it wasn't too busy to get in one of the cute seating options. When we, a party of three, arrived all the four people spots (3) were taken. However there were 2 empty 5 spot tables and several cute table booths behind them. We asked if we could sit in one of them and were told no, only for 5 people. There was no one else waiting or even coming in. We were sat at a plain table and ate in under 30-45 minutes. How many people came in during that time, one group of four that was seated in a four spot that opened up. Restaurants in Gainesville are a dime a dozen. Restaurants are about hospitality and unfortunately, they failed on this aspect. We could have eaten and had the experience we wanted with no extra cost to them. Heard this nationwide ramen chain is open in GNV and decided to check it out. I actually tried this franchise restaurant back in Brooklyn and was excited to give it another try elsewhere to see if they have the same consistency. My group went there midweek, around the afternoon for a late lunch so parking was easy and there was no wait time. The ambiance at that time was very quiet as there was no background music playing at the restaurant. Upon coming here, the decor was unique. If you want privacy, you can get seated at one of the many booths around the restaurant. They also have seats in the middle designed like Matcha Whisks, and in other parts, there are seats designed like Honeycombs, which I thought was adorable. You can take very picturesque shots at this restaurant and they even have a shrine by the bathroom that you can pose in front of. The bathroom wasn't the best, which is very on-brand with downtown Gainesville. The service was great, and the waiter we had was prompt, quick, and detail-oriented. Since they recently opened, there were a couple of items on the menu that were not yet available. They have a boba branch attached to the restaurant in which you can order additional drinks from the comfort of your own seat. We ordered the ika-geso and the takoyaki for the appetizers and the proportions were great for the price -- Same goes with their entrées. They offer a mix of different combo meals, which is definitely worth checking out. I got the ying yang bowl, which allowed me to taste both a milder ramen alongside a spicier mix. I was able to taste the omurice with the demi glace as well. They cut open the egg in front of you and pour the sauce on top! For dessert, I got to try all three desserts (did not get a picture of the tiramisu!). I like how the pudding wasn't too sweet! The matcha tiramisu tastes like any other matcha tiramisus I've had in other restaurants. The sakura jelly might not be for everyone (as it has flower petals in the jelly), but I like being able to control the sweetness level. All in all, the experience was just good. This place is very cool. We sat in a honeycomb booth area. They do not have the full menu yet, so it was a bummer that the options were limited but they did just open. We shared the firecracker chicken appetizer and pork bao buns. I wouldn't order the chicken appetizer again--it was just ok. The ramen was delicious, served hot and the service was very attentive and friendly. I am assuming they don't have their liquor license yet because when I asked for a drink menu the server said they don't have one yet. All in all I think this place has potential and I will return in a few months when hopefully their menu is fully available and a drink menu is established! read more

Glad I waited to try this spot out because wow! My mom and I went to see a play on Monday night at the Hipp wanted to get dinner before. We were craving ramen and got straight to the point with our order. I ordered the #9 chicken ramen. Inside the restaurant is very pretty and has very nice seating. Aesthetically this place stands out in Gainesville. Since they was no one there, our food came out pretty quick. The ramen was super fresh and the broth was so flavorful. I could not get enough of it. There's plentiful veggies in the ramen that were fresh and good. I loved the corn alot. The chicken was good but I was there was more of it in the chicken ramen. I asked for chili oil which was an additional $1.50. Other than that, I would come back earlier in the week when it's pretty dead so I can get one of those cubicle booths. The atmosphere is really trendy and very busy. Multiple staff helping out and checking on the table, refilling water, etc. The bathroom needs to be labeled-- there was a big shrine thing next to it with a bell, but I didn't see a sign for the restroom. The food was pretty good! I got the white garlic Tokyo Tonkotsu Shoyu and my brother got the Katsuoboshi Pork Ramen. The Tonkatsu Shoyu was slightly creamy, very comforting without spice. I wish the entire egg was given instead of just one half, but it was perfectly jammy. The corn is also canned, if you care about that sort of thing. The pork ramen had a slight heat to it but was still good. My mother got the popcorn chicken, which was almost like a breaded/fried and not sauced bourbon chicken. The flavor of that was nice, the sauce that came with it was pleasantly zesty, but the chicken was a little dry. Not crunchy. I definitely will come back here in the future as I would be excited to try the omurice and black garlic tonkotsu. I wish they had Gyudon at this location, but it just means I have to visit another! read more

Wow, the food here is actually amazing. This is one of the best ramen I have had, along with their popcorn chicken being delicious as well. I was having such a good time drinking the broth too, truly a delicious experience. I also really enjoyed the decorations around the room. I was sat in some sort of fence with my friends which felt open but still private. I just thought the interior was generally creative and really brings out the idea of you being in a Japanese establishment. I loved the ambiance almost as much as the food. The service was also quick, except at the end when our server seemed to have disappeared. I think he may have clocked out for the night, but someone else quickly took over his role. read more

Just tried the new Kyuramen and wow--Gainesville just leveled up. The food is seriously good--rich, authentic, and worth the hype. The interior is half the experience: super cool design with those honeycomb booth tables built into the walls (such a vibe). It honestly feels like you've been transported somewhere else. Service was great--friendly and quick. Perfect spot to show people around town while still giving that "this doesn't feel like Gainesville" experience (in the best way). Most of it was bland without flavor at all, and what did have flavor, tasted like two day old unrefrigerated rotting fish. Really cute chain ramen shop in downtown Gainesville. Attached is a boba/drink store, but the restaurant itself has a unique, very modern interior that's fun to look at. My waiter was nice and attentive, nothing of major note, just good regular service. I ordered the regular Sapporo Miso Ramen based on others' recommendation, and it was absolutely delicious. I didn't take a photo (I must've been too hungry to snap one), but it was honestly one of the better ramens I've had recently. It is on the pricier side, around $20 a bowl (with tax and tip), so I docked a star for that, as you could probably find cheaper that does the same! But overall if you're looking to treat yourself to a delicious bowl, and are okay with splurging a little on the price, it's a great place to eat. read more

This place has a beautiful interior that is very aesthetic and great for photos but when it comes to good authentic japanese food I would try somewhere else. I came here on a Friday around 5pm and the place was pretty empty as you can see in the video. They seated us at one of the tables on the floor but since it was so empty we asked if we could sit at the honeycomb tables instead which they said we would have to wait a couple of minutes. We did wait since there was no one sitting at those tables and they quickly wiped it down and we were sat at the honeycomb. We tried to order their advertised "honeycomb platter" appetizer featured on their menu but were told they do not sell it at this location. Instead we ordered their edamame and pan fried gyoza which was yummy. For entrees we got the Omurice and the Tokyo Tonkotsu Shoyu Ramen (not pictured) and was very disappointed. The presentation of the Omurice was the only enjoyable part of the meal. The "fried rice" underneath was so bland it tasted like just white rice and scramble eggs in it. I couldn't taste any chicken, salt, or soy sauce in the rice. The curry on top was so watered down it tasted like water with a drop of curry in it. I have had Omurice at other establishments and this dish was lacking serve flavor. My mom ordered the ramen and felt like it had no flavor which is surprising considering this is a ramen restaurant. The broth was lacking something. Although they have seasonings on the table to help flavor your dishes, all of them were empty! Probably because everyone is loading their food with extra seasoning. TL;DR: People waiting an hour were seated ahead of us when we waited almost 3 hrs. Waited 40 mins for mid food, not checked on, had to ask to be served. Only pork buns & thai tea great. We wrote on their feedback card, not really expecting a response. My girlfriend and I were extremely excited to have a Kyuramen opening in Gainesville. We had visited the Jacksonville location 6 months ago and received the best service, atmosphere, and Japanese cuisine I've ever eaten in the states. So when we entered the waiting list yesterday, we very excited and were willing to wait a long time to be seated. At 6:40 PM, we get our waiting list number of around T110. With several events happening downtown, we weren't surprised to see that there were 34 tables waiting ahead of us. We decide to walk around downtown to pass time, until an hour and a half later as the queue dwindles to around 10 tables. We patiently wait outside, the clock keeps ticking until 40 mins. pass; it is 8:40PM and there are only 3 more tables ahead. We continue to see people leave, new people enter and get seated, and yet the queue does not move. We suspect that people are getting seated ahead of us. After 9:00PM, we went in to ask how much longer we had, and we see a group of 5 people complaining about waiting an hour who were immediately getting seated. Their ticket was in the 150's, almost 40 people behind us. So we begin to insist, and we're finally seated at a table in the very back at 9:15 PM, behind the tree with the wooden signs, next to the tea bar. We're cut off from view from the rest of the restaurant and constantly jostled by people hanging their signs. Fortunately we are immediately asked for our order: I get the Yin Yang Bowl combo (Thai Tea and Pork Bun) and my girlfriend gets the Yakitori platter (reviews below). The tea and water come out immediately: the tea was fantastic, and my girlfriend's Yakitori platter comes out 10 minutes later. Maybe after 5 minutes my pork bun comes out, zero complaints, bun was fluffy and the pork belly was extremely tender and flavorful. It is now 45 minutes after we were first seated, the restaurant is closing, and I am still waiting on my ramen bowl. Someone finally comes to fill our waters, nobody has even checked on us once at this point (we suspect it's because we were pretty much seated out of sight). I ask him if the ramen is coming out soon, he apologizes and goes to the kitchen. The ramen comes out 2 minutes later; I suspect it was either quickly thrown together or was just sitting there. It wasn't good. Overall, the food was pretty mediocre, nothing like what we ate at the Jacksonville location and certainly was not worth the wait or lack of service. I understand that this place has only recently opened and inevitably there will be processes need to be improved. I'm usually not one to complain about these things (as you can see by me waiting almost 3 hours to be seated), but I would have appreciated any sort of acknowledgment of this not being acceptable. I may try this again next year, maybe these things will be worked out by then, but the only way this place is receiving my business in the meantime is through their tea bar, which has both the pork bun and Thai tea which were easily the best parts of the meal. Ying Yang Bowl (2.5 out of 5): This was interesting as it was divided in the middle, sectioning out two sides of broth: one side was Sapparo miso and the other was Tokyo tonkotsu. The miso side was a slightly spicy broth with a skewer of zucchini, slices of chashu, ramen, and half of a marinated egg. The tonkotsu side was a creamy pork broth containing a single shrimp tempura, a chunk of BBQ porkbelly, ramen, bamboo shoots and the other half of the marinated egg. There was a pile of shredded scallions placed in the middle of the bowl. The broth was served warm, not hot (there wasn't even any steam coming off of it). I preferred the Sapparo miso side personally, both broths tasted good. I thought the pork belly was amazing (the same meat from the pork bun) and the slices of the chashu were also pretty good. The egg was cold in the center, not even warm, tasted fine. The Zucchini wasn't good, it was also cold, very bland and watery. The tempura shrimp was overly battered, greasy, and tasted stale. This was honestly the saddest tempura shrimp I have ever eaten, there was hardly any shrimp. The noodles were fine. Yakitori platter (2 out of 5): It consisted of 5 skewers: fried tofu, beef, chicken w/ spring onions, pork belly, and zucchini. Of the five skewers, my girlfriend says the Tofu was the best, it had a great crunch with good flavor. The meat skewers, although the flavors were good, and nothing was cold, all of the meat was tough and chewy. The pork belly in particular was extremely dry, suspect that it was overcooked. By the time she got the Zucchini, it had gotten cold and soggy due to soaking in the other sauces, she says it was fairly bland. read more

Just had a terrible and expensive lunch at Kyuramen. I was excited to eat here based on the hype and atmospheric decor. Don't judge a book by its cover. I work downtown and went with a colleague. We sat in a booth, which smelled like plastic and disinfectant. My coworker ordered ramen, and I tried the tonkatsu omurice. If you order the omurice, they make you order it as a "combo," which comes with a free dessert whether you want it or not and increases the price. I had asked if I could substitute the dessert for a beverage but was told "no" and also that I had to order the dish as the combo. Fine, I understand. Literally two minutes after ordering, my food arrived. It cost $25 and was clearly pre-made and not fresh. The dish was cold/lukewarm at best. My coworker's ramen didn't arrive until at least 15 minutes later, so we essentially ate separately. I tried her ramen, which despite the price was small, and the broth lacked a depth of flavor. The noodles were good, but there is much better ramen in Gainesville - like at Kinya for example. I'm sorry, but I won't be back. With Liquid Ginger close by with special lunch prices (my one lunch at Kyuramen could have bought 3 lunches at Liquid Ginger) and Dragonfly across the street for dinner, there is no need to go to this chain restaurant. read more
