I love their daily specials and happy hour menu. The bartenders are friendly and make drinks very quickly. I'm always pretty impressed as they taste great! I love the vibe here as well. It's dark, loungey, and always delivers. My favorites to order here are the Bramble (made with Gin) & their Paloma. Hubs says their Old Fashioned is solid as well. Fluid Lounge is a premier cocktail lounge and it is one of my favorite places to be. The bartenders are always on point and friendly. All of the selections of liquor, wine, and beer are top notch and prices are definitely fair! I have zero complaints. When I'm in the mood for a good drink, I always come here and get an old fashioned...it's definitely the *chefs kiss* Fluid also has live DJs that care about the cocktail/lounge experience every Thursday-Saturday...they definitely set the mood and tone for the night. Also, If you get hungry throughout the night, you can head next door to world of beer and they'll take care of you. Their food is pretty bomb. I would recommend the chicken sliders or chicken tenders. So for what it's worth, you can order anything and you won't be disappointed. I haven't had a bad drink or a bad experience here yet and I do not see that happening. If you're reading this, come out and enjoy the night at Fluid. I was excited to try this place out for happy hour. We ordered two old fashioneds from the happy hour menu. The bartender asked if we were okay with the house bourbon (bullet) and we selected to upgrade to buffalo trace. We expected an upcharge for the bourbon, but did not expect her to take this drink completely off of the happy hour menu. Typically, the old fashioned is $11, so half off on happy hour would make it $5.50. The price difference between 2 oz of bullet vs 2oz of buffalo trace was $6, so we expected the drink to be $11.50. She charged us $17/drink. I'm a numbers person, so this bothered me. I have worked in the service industry, so I kindly approached her at the bar and told her that this didn't feel right. Rather than being open to a conversation with me about this, she was rude, dismissive and defensive. I will say that the next day before writing this review, I called the manager and described the situation to him. He was very kind and understood where I was coming from. read more

Pretty impressed overall. Fluid is a sleek, modern, classy lounge with (at least tonight) a DJ spinning tunes and a lively crowd. Their focus and point of pride is whiskey drinks and especially an ample selection of Bourbons and other American whiskeys. Their selection of single-malt Scotches is one of the better ones in town, as well, even including the Scapa-14 which, while not exactly rare per se, isn't often found in even the better of local bars. Clearly, Fluid has jumped on the whole craft cocktails trend full force, and that's overall a good thing. Where they differ from bars doing the same general thing downtown is their client base: here, in Tioga, it's more your middle-aged (though still youngish) professional set in polos and Gator tees than your hipsters. I actually had delayed going here for some time fearing I'd be under-dressed in jeans, a tee (even if a Comme or Gosha tee) and Converse but you'll see gents in shorts, a Gators hoodie and flip-flops so . . . not so much. Other folks do dress up though and the atmosphere of the lounge really tends to suggest doing so: it's dark, posh, and alluring if a tad bit impersonal (it reminded me a bit of a hotel bar in a nicer boutique hotel, honestly). As to the service, the bartender who served me was very prompt, polite, and made a good if a tad bit sweet Sazerac. Looking around, many patrons however were just drinking beer . . . and this when World of Beer is literally next door. Odd. I would recommend Fluid, certainly, and I think they'll be a hit. The West Side needs something like this and Tioga is as good a place as any given how spread out the West of Gainesville is: if you're in Thornbrook, you're really as close to downtown as Tioga; if you're in Tioga, you're still a far piece from Haile Plantation. Whomever planned Gainesville circa the 1960s when this expansion began ought to be clobbered upside the head with his T-square. Some of the worst sprawl for a college town ever, but that's fully another tale there. read more

I have no idea what these other yelpers are reviewing but fluid was nothing like any previous reviews... I came on a Thursday night, ladies night, so all classic cocktails were half off. They were blasting music that I would expect to hear at an 8th grade dance from about 10 years ago. Drinks all sounded delicious but we're just poorly executed. We got a bramble and gin fizz. The bramble had way too much blackberry liqueur added to it so it was overly sweet and syrupy. The gin fizz is typically shaken for an extended period of time to completely emulsify the egg whites and cream but we watched the bartender only give it a light shake. He also added way too much cream so it tasted more like a pina colada. Overall has great potential but definitely had to work on bartender training and get a new DJ asap! read more

We stopped in last night (Friday) and there was a nice crowd. Dim lighting and deep house beats created the perfect atmosphere to enjoy our delicious cocktails. Amanda was our mixologist: the Lemon Drop wasn't overly tangy. It had a faint hint of vanilla, which made it taste more like a creamy dessert than an alcoholic drink. And my made-from-scratch Mojito was the perfect blend of minty-ness, sweetness and rum. For a moment I was transported to a New York City chill lounge, definitely not the norm for Gainesville. My favorite libation has got to be the Blackberry Bramble, so delicious! They have a fantastic Happy Hour daily from 5p to 8p and Ladies Night on Thursdays. So this was my first time here and the experience was above and beyond in every sense. The craft cocktails were truly amazing and this comes from somebody who travels to a different city every week for a living for over 20 years. The staff was amazing the manager was extremely friendly and personable and they had food delivered from next-door with no service fee or any other fees included. That was just an extra nice today! The whiskey and bourbon selection was very good and because it was Wednesday almost everything was half price which was incredible given the quality of the whisky they have. The Fluid Lounge is not a regular destination of mine but it's convenient, hidden away, open late, and I like the concept. I only go every now and then. Went most recently about 11 on a Friday night to meet a friend. We sat at the bar. THE SERVICE: I must say, the tatted blonde bartender was so unnecessarily and immediately unpleasant when I tried to tell her I was already being helped by someone else and that they already had my tab going. It completely put me off the place and made me want to move away from the bar so I didn't have to deal with her. The other bartenders were just fine and as you would expect. I'd go back but avoid her. Very weird. THE AMBIANCE: As mentioned its a cool dark hideaway kind of place, but the noise level? I don't expect to necessarily like the music genre at this place or any bar- but the volume is cranked up like its a Miami dance club, and if you expect to have a conversation with someone- forget it. read more
